（＾ω＾）the music we got for Spring/Summer 2023 audiodrama season has been amazing

相思续续入梦来/"Thoughts and memories entering my dreams" by 远皓ZIL

[三嫁咸鱼/Thrice Married to Salted Fish , Season 1]

The music and lyrics of this song perfectly balances the blend of humor and heart in this story. The verse starts off kind of cheeky, but the emotions mount as we build towards the chorus. That line about Lin Qingyu donning his wedding robes again -- a scene that made me weep while reading the novel -- is like a punch to the gut. Thankfully the song and the story ends on a happy note.

山月随舟/"The world that follows" by 大C

[残疾战神嫁我为妾后/After the Disabled God of War Became My Concubine]

This is supposed to be about a maimed war hero biding his time to take revenge on the unscrupulous enemy prince he is forced to marry, but thankfully the real story is better represented by this sweet ballad. Despite the trials and chaos of the main characters' circumstances, they find a kindred spirit in each other and a promise to build a peaceful life together after the war is over.

真情错给/ "True love given in error" by 匀子, 漆柚

[泾渭无间/Clear and Muddy Loss of Love, Season 1]

This heartbreaking duet is attempting the impossible: to capture the emotional devastation of this epic novel in just a few minutes. "Love/ falls into a drop of tear, there is no one to blame, but me who has given my true love in error." A heartfelt love has crumbled into the cruelest betrayal, but instead of anger, there is just sadness, longing, and helplessness.

随月/"Follow the moon" by 海疼er

[游龙随月/You Long Sui Yue (both seasons) ]

I love this song so much that every time I hear it I instantly forgive the parts of the audiodrama that I enjoyed less. The lyrics tell a story of meeting and getting to know someone with whom you can share the rest of your journeys and your life. It sounds like a theme song for a wuxia drama, the song that should be playing while they ride off onto their next adventure together.

直到黎明/"Until Dawn" by 文森

[诟病/Morbid Attachment]

I'm still torn between feeling like this song is a bit too raw and under-produced, or breathtakingly intimate with its focus on the main vocals. It's written for a lost lover whose name is hidden in the lyrics and melody, a lover who doesn't know or believe in this, even though a part of him desperately wants to. This song is filled with the regret and yearning that comes out of such a relationship, vulnerable but hopeful.

心眼 (主役版) /"Eye of the mind" (cast version) by 陈张太康, 文森

[心眼/Eye of the Mind, Season 2]

This duet featuring two of my favorite voice actors is basically fulfilling one of my CV fandom dreams. Their voices work so well together! The calm, modern sound of the song perfectly sets the mood for the journeys of (relatively) ordinary people who manage to have some incredible drama.

this woman.

she certainly does not deserve to be the target of my wrath. she has not done anything to me personally. it's her handlers, the advertisers, that i really want to tear apart into little bits... but they are faceless enemies, so it's much easier and more rewarding to just hate this woman with vitriol. she's a red herring. she's bait and i'm biting. i hate that when she dies this company will still own her image and be able to use it for their terrible ads.

Finished the new Wednesday series and I figured out what the Tim Burton version of the Addams Family is missing for me and it’s the mania. There’s no manic edge to any of the jokes. There’s hardly any snap (pun intended) in the dialogue. Gomez is sedated, the guy who played the younger version of him was serving more Gomez energy in five minutes onscreen. There’s a moment where CJZ calls him “mon cheri” and there is ZERO reaction, not even an aborted attempt at a “Tish! That’s FRENCH!” gag, which I was definitely waiting for. Pugsley isn’t hyperactive at all. He says he misses being waterboarded but he doesn’t beg Wednesday to torture him or really do much at all the few minutes the kid is onscreen. His one gag is basically just a fat-kids-will-eat-anything joke where he chows on some potpourri. Nothing in the therapy scene to suggest how VERY in over her head Kinbott is. Nobody else is ever really set on edge or feeling jumpy because they have no idea what any Addams will do next.

#Jenna was great but the only real sparring partners she got were Emma and Fred Armisen #Fred was a SPECTACULAR Fester but he’s only in one episode #I would watch a show specifically about Fred Armisen as Fester because I kinda think that’s the only character TB actually undertood #the more I think about it the more I think about ways it could’ve been improved #it was a perfectly serviceable supernatural murder mystery but were those really the ADDAMS FAMILY on my screen?#wednesday #wednesday Netflix #Wednesday 2022 #addams family #the addams family #uncle fester #fred armisen #jenna ortega #catherine zeta jones #luis guzman

Study/Work with your favorite danmei characters: "white noise" tracks

I'm putting together some of my favorite free ambient noise tracks from danmei audiodramas. I need to do a lot of focused work right now and these are perfect for playing in the background.

贪恋/Tan Lian [30 min] -- studying in a library

sounds: classical musical, rain, paper rustling

talking: at 0min, 15min, 28min

the drama itself is a different story, but this "white noise" track is my favorite. I love the library vibes and Chu Ran (CV Wen Sen) gently encouraging "you" to focus. It almost makes me feel wistful about my college days ~~

粉黛/Concealed and Blended: Fendai [30 min] -- out and about

first half: distant piano music muffled people talking, like a fancy hotel lobby or art gallery

second half: muffled traffic noises, quiet bird chirping, like it's outside on a busy street

talking: main couple talking about a painting (and kissing?) at 15min

this one feels like finding a moment for yourself in a busy place. Maybe you are visiting a new city (Paris?), so you spend some time at a fancy establishment and then take a walk along the city streets

sounds: birds and cicada, paper rustling, brush strokes

talking: XXQ talking about colors at 0min, main couple talk/flirting at 11min, 22-24min, and the end

This one is just very peaceful, like you are visiting a park on a nice day and sitting next to an artist trying to capture the beautiful scenery on his canvas

sounds: fire crackling, and paper and fabric rustling, occasional laughter, rain in the later parts

cozy study/bedroom vibes, with Jiang Suizhou (CV Liu Sicen) quietly chuckling at his book and eventually reading traditional standard prose out loud. At least someone is enjoying this work/reading session!

Donnie and his brothers all trying to teach Leo basic common sense he lost the ability to learn cjz he was in a sewer his whole life...

Like... Raph teaching him about djscretion and diplomacy (AKA no you do not immediatelystab the first person who pissez you off trainihg), Donnie teaching him things like wearing clothes and how to act in a public setting, Mikey teaching him street lingo

I should probably say Leo’s not totally clueless when it comes to behaving topside! Although there are certain expectations he has that doesn’t quite fit what he sees in reality. All his knowledge is provided by Splinter’s account or TV shows (albeit old shows, probably via vhs for the majority of his life. No Donnie to fix him with the latest gadgets and BB!Splinter likely sticks to the classics anyways.)

This leads to some pretty cheesy dialogue when fighting enemies or haggling at a market. It also earns him a light bonk on the head because no, Leo, you can’t use your sword to “persuade” this guy for a discount, it’s not cool!

Or, no, Leo, no one actually says “she’s gonna blow!” when there’s a pipebomb. People usually just run

Or, no, Leo, just because you aren’t human doesn’t mean only humans can wear clothes. I don’t care if you’re a ninja and you move better without them, you can borrow mine until we go shopping.

Hi.What were Nya's first meetings with ninja?Why was she on top of a bookshelf when she met Jay?

Nya's first run-in with the Ninja happens a few days after she and Garm first escape the Underworld. They first go to Ignacia to try and find Kai; instead they find that Four Weapons has been turned into a kitschy tourist trap, but luckily that tourist trap was dedicated to the Green Ninja, Kai Wu, so the two do learn what happened to Kai, and what Wu had been up to.

Next they head to New Ninjago City (renamed after the first Skulkin attack that devastated the city), where they get briefly separated. Nya hears someone mention that the Ninja are going to be at some unveiling event for Borg Industries, and she can't help but try and see Kai. She gets spotted at the unveiling, people freak out, she runs and the Ninja give chase.

Kai is the only one who can keep up for the whole chase, he corners this mysterious dragon person, but when he finally sees her face, he freezes. The other Ninja catch up, just in time for Garm to finally catch up to his daughter and get the both of them out of there.

I'm not sure if that counts as a meeting tho.

But the first time Nya and the Ninja actually interact is in Garm and Misako's old home, where Garm hid the Map to the Golden Weapons. The Duo head there for the Map, and while Garm goes upstairs to get it, Nya stays downstairs to 'stand watch', but she was really trying to find an undamaged pic of Misako for Garm.

The Ninja and Wu had tracked them there, and Wu has the Ninja enter through the first floor to try and catch Nya while he went straight for Garm and the Map. Jay makes the mistake of entering through a living room window, the room Nya is currently in. Nya notices him sneaking in, and the only place she might be able to hide is crouched on top of the bookshelf she's standing next to. It's dark enough that whoever she hears coming through the window shouldn't notice her.

Unfortunately for both of them, Jay's Element of Lightning gives him the ability to sense other living beings bioelectricity. He doesn't know this, he just thinks he's the god of hide and seek. So when he's quickly scanning through the room, looking for anyone else who might be there, his eyes are drawn to the upper corner of the room.

Where he sees a set of eyes glowing in the dark, a pale set of teeth catching just enough moonlight to glint, at least ten feet up in the air.

Jay, whose imagination was already going a bit wild thanks to the run in with Lord Garmadon earlier, absolutely freaks, screams, and might straight up pass out. Either way, Nya’s cover is blown, the other Ninja come running.

She introduces herself to the Ninja by throwing Jay at Kai, shoving Zane in a closet and breaking off the door handle, biting Coles scythe staff in half and then shoving him out a window, and beating the four of them upstairs to where Garm and Wu are fighting over the Map.

Most of their ‘meetings’ are like this, but there are a few occasions where they interact in ways other than ‘trying to beat the crap out of each other’.

Kai and Nya get an actual reunion a bit after all of this, while the Duo are on the run with the Sword of Flames. The Duo are camped out in the city while Garm’s injured, and Nya lures the Ninja out with the intention of leading Kai away from the others to try and talk to him. This works, and despite everything that’s recently happened, the siblings have a heartfelt hug and a fairly good meeting (which one of the Ninja might see, but keep secret).

Then there's gonna be an incident, probably taking place in Hiroshi’s Labyrinth, where a confrontation ends up with the two groups separated and trying to survive and reunite.

Kai gets stuck with Garm, and Nya with Cole, Jay, and Zane.

Which is the first time Nya and CJZ interact on semi-cordial terms. I haven’t fully decided on how well everyone gets along during this, other than Kai and Garm might be handcuffed together to force Kai to work with Garm instead of trying to kill him for stealing Nya.

MSN I kinda wish there was a followup for thos anon asks. The one with Leo's panic and the one either Mikey's letter.

For Leo's panic I just wanna see what happens next and how CJ is gonna handle calming a panicked Leo and the events of the heart to heart in between his own panic and confusion

For Angie's Letter it's kinda more angst but... whag if that letter did somehow end up in Raphies hands. Its an old slip of paper all ripped up but still legible enough to tell its been written and rewritten on many times and like... just imagine the old trope of a letter in the bottle or in this case letter being exploded into light particles cjz I'm sure that would be kept on future Angie's person when he died, somehow making its way to its intended recipient and years after sending his baby boi through a portal to save him this is how Raphie discovers Angie's world had been destroyed

The Leo and Casey thing would be very sweet to see. Probably CJ calmly talking Leo down (it would be interesting if, say, this was the first separation panic episode he had in a while. Like Leo thought he was over this, but obviously not.)

And the Angie one, oh that would just hurt. Raphie reading the letter and fully thinking he had sent his son back to his home dimension only to die for it? He would be an absolute wreck until Angie managed to portal in and correct those assumptions.
