Seeking Interviewees With Service Pokémon For Graduate Project

Hello!

Are you a Pokémon trainer with a registered service/support Pokémon?

Your time and input would be valuable for my research!

I am a graduate student at Central Kalos University, located east of Santalune City. I currently have my Bachelor’s in Pokébiology, with a specialization in Pokémon Behavior. I am pursuing my Master’s in Pokémon-Human Interaction, and this research project will be a crucial part of attaining my degree!

My project is centered around trying to increase accessibility and awareness for disabled trainers and their service Pokémon. Many trainers with ‘unconventional’ or ‘scary’ service Pokémon are stigmatized, or are faced with limited/no access to certain spaces in the presence of their service Pokémon. This is something I’m determined to change! As someone with a service Gengar, I have faced many restrictions as to what stores I can go to, which transportation options I have, and who will agree to train him for such services - whereas someone with a more ‘conventional’ service Pokémon, such as a Growlithe, may not experience such restrictions. With my research, I hope to prove the usefulness and the necessity of these unconventional Pokémon in service/support training spaces.

In this phase of research, I am attempting to collect as much qualitative data from participants as possible through interviews about their experience with their own and others’ service Pokémon. I will also be publishing these interviews to hopefully contribute to the normalization of these sorts of discussions!

Requirements:

- Must have a registered & certified service/support Pokémon verifiable by the Association of Disabled Kalosians (ADK), or another regional disability association, OR must be in the active process of obtaining such certification. Applicants with ‘unconventional’ service Pokémon preferred, but anyone can apply. (NOTE: You do not need to be a Kalosian to be interviewed! Anyone from any region is encouraged to apply!)

- Must be over 14 years of age OR be escorted by someone over the age of 14.

- Must not have any active registration or employment contracts with Team Flare, or any current Team Flare associates.

- Must consent to your interview being published, and to an image of you and your service Pokémon potentially being released with said interview.

- Must not be a Pokémon. I’m NOT wasting my time interviewing a Zoroark again!...

China, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have signed a long-anticipated agreement to push ahead with construction of a railroad linking their countries that will, if completed, establish a shorter route to Europe bypassing [...] Russia.[...]

The document does not set out a roadmap for construction of the CKU link, which was first mooted a quarter of a century ago but had struggled to get off the ground until Russia’s invasion of Ukraine breathed new impetus into it.

But it does move the project one step closer to reality, by laying out terms for a feasibility study for the Kyrgyz leg, which is the missing link to connect existing railroads in China and Uzbekistan, to be completed by the first half of 2023. [...]

Makmal is the site of a goldmine operated by a Sino-Kyrgyz joint venture with majority Chinese ownership.[...]

The cost estimate is conservative compared to previous estimates of double that for a railroad that will pass through challenging mountainous terrain requiring a series of tunnels – reportedly 90 of them – to be built.

China will also need to build 160 kilometers of track to feed into the new line, according to The Economist.

If ever completed, the new link could continue south through Turkmenistan into Iran and onward to Turkey, the gateway to Europe.

That would shorten the route from China to Europe by 900 kilometers and cut eight days off the travel time, The Economist calculated.
