My High School Experience

Hi I am McKenzye Bell. As a senior I can say that my high school experience has been great. My first year was online so that sucked but my sophomore was the year I actually got to experience high school.For two years I was know as the quiet kid which is ok I’m not really into high school popularity. Sophomore year I got into dance and got into extra curricular activities. My junior year I had a lot of grey areas. I had a lot of disagreements and arguments. Finally my senior year, so far it’s fun I have just about all of my credits. I am social officer this year for the drill team. I have a 3.1 gpa. I am also trying to get my ranking up for my class. #classof24

@Classof24 admit- dude dont listen to this forum, it's unbelievably whiny. Im in my freshman fall and could be looking at a 4.0 and I know a few others who are in a similar position. It's all about how disciplined you are. This place is legit awesome: awesome professors, awesome classmates, awesome resources, awesome lifelong community. And thats just how I feel after first semester.

I wouldn’t call people on here whiny... some people just struggle more than you, and this is meant as a place for people to talk about their woes and frustrations and all that jazz. And to say whiny implies a connotation that they’re annoying, but like... no.... we literally are all on this blog to help out. A place where people come to vent and know they’ll get some kind of hopefully helpful response. And they probably come here to post it because they’re afraid of venting to someone in real life who will call them ‘whiny’ like you just did.

I mean, good for you for having a 4.0, that’s awesome. But you should recognize that it’s not all about being disciplined. People have extrenuating circumstances, mental health issues that pop up, come from a school that might not have given them as much prep for this place, and a billion other reasons why things here might not be going the greatest. Both sides of the coin are valid.

Your opinion about this could have gone over perfectly well without the jabs at people who disagree with you, because I totally agree with you that this place is awesome, and know that there are a lot of students who love it here as you mentioned. I struggle at times, but overall found myself able to succeed last year and still this one as well (albeit with a lot more effort than in HS). I couldn’t be happier to be here, even if sometimes I get wrangled into the social norm of always complaining.

But... my guy... I don’t go around calling anyone whiny. You tainted what could have been a great addition to this convo into a submit that tries to put others down. Please think about this and be more concious about it next time you submit here. Thank you.
