I was using my forearm crutches, and this person did the ridiculous "what happened??" thing. I absolutely blanked out on how to respond, so I just ended up going
"Nothing, I'm just built like this."
She asked no follow-up questions.

seeing one of those reminder videos of “yes your legs have texture and touch together ect ect, but they also let you run ect” no they don’t. mine don’t let me run. these posts seem to forget about disabled people.

Wheelchair users:
Hey, the main entrance to your business is up some stairs, is there a wheelchair accessible entrance with a ramp or something available?
non-disabled business owners:
No, we don't get any customers in wheelchairs so there's no point
Wheelchair users:
...do...do you think there might be a reason for that?
Non-disabled business owners:
Because disabled people don't need [whatever product or service we provide], obviously.

i love how sometimes, despite all the medical advancements of the 21st century, the only thing that relieves pain is sitting/laying/standing in a weird position because it places/doesn't place pressure on certain spots

I really need people to stop treating physical activity as an essential part of any treatment. In my case and in that of many people, physical activity only hurts us and takes away our life quality little by little. Just leave people who can't and shouldn't do physical activity alone.

i hate that the first question my dad asks anytime i say that my entire body hurts is “do you exercise enough?”
i’ve tried, and it hurts so bad. it makes my pain worse, and when i do it where the exercise doesn’t hurt me, i’m still in pain.
i hate this question cause when i answer, it’s just like to move to the next conversation or ignore me till i dont talk about the excruciating pain i’m in.
i hate that people masquerade my pain under the idea of not exercising enough because it’s fucking easier on others to say it’s my fault and that it could be an easy fix rather then paying attention to the fact that i’ve said i’ve been in pain for almost 8 straight years!

Being disabled is beautiful, but it’s also difficult. Both things can be true.

it’s weird how if the stuff my chronic illnesses causes happened to an abled person, they’d call an ambulance but i’m just expected to get up and carry on with my day

I'd like to adress a serious issue here. No mobility aid is a fantasy of mine. No accommodation I could ask for is a fancy thing I want. And no tools for any disabled people should be offered as a present for any occasion. Abled people have to understand that a child shouldn't have to chose between some help with their disability and a christmas present. When will people understand that we need those things. It could be a cane, a noise canceling headphones, a wheelchair, some stim toys, we need it. No mental disability or physical disability should be taken lightly. So please, take your disabled children seriously. It's hard enough to ask for help, don't Minimize it.

cripple culture is being in level 8-9 pain and still going to school/work
Yes! The fact that we are expected to carry on our days like non-disabled people is absolutely ridiculous and incredibly unfair.

one thing i hate about myself is that i consider myself c.punk but only when it comes to others' disabilities, but when it's about my OWN then suddenly im like 'oh sorry!!! i'll stop using [insert aid here] if it inconveniences you' and i have to remember that it isnt my fault the majority of people i know made me feel inadequate cause of my limitations.
