people are always trying to justify whatever newfangled lgbt identity by saying it has a history and already existed back in the 70s and 80s and honestly like who cares. if i invent a new mode of gender expression right now and it's not offensive and doesn't derive from bigotry towards another marginalized group and people connect with it and find it useful to describe themselves then who cares how long it's been around

#i am for example fairly suspicious of the claim that dykes using he/him as their Default Everyday Pronoun has such a long history #but does it matter if it does? people can still do that now and it's fine

to add on to the philosophy of 'you're not unattractive you're just not your type' -

sometimes, you gotta see yourself in other people first in order to comprehend your own beauty

this works both in body positive and in gender affirming ways of course. who among us has not felt better about the things that cause us gender dysphoria after seeing someone else w the same features absolutely own it?

but today i'm mostly thinking about being at the grocery store and seeing the beauty in a stranger's exposed belly as their skin folds when they reach around for something and their croptop rides up, hips turning and revealing pale stretch marks.

like. oh. yeah my belly folds like that. my hips look like that. and they're beautiful.

or when a cashier at the gas station laughs at a joke you made and when they smile it's all pink gums and little peeking teeth.

and you think wow. what a lovely smile. i smile like that.

idk. i just think that falling in love with the mundane beauty of the people around you can sometimes help remind you of your own quiet beauty.

I don’t know how to feel. There are aspects I like… such as the buckles and the hoodie. It’s not giving ninja apart from the katana and the tabi shoe (the split toe part of the boots). The hoodie seems vaguely Asian inspired but not enough to say ninja. I guess it looks stealthy, kind of assassin adjacent. Put a gun to my head and I still couldn’t scramble to explain the devil horns.

Back to the hoodie though. I think the cropped part looks dumb. I’m not talking about sexualisation, my issue is more it’s not stylish and it’s just weird to pair this “urban ninja” getup with a bikini top. They could have done something a little more on theme, or just bring down the crop so we can see more of the hoodie design.

I can get over the blonde hair but the blue eyes? I’m my humble opinion Moira has the best eye colour of any RE character so why change it. It makes her resemble Sherry Birkin. Neither an insult nor a compliment I just don’t understand the need to change the eye colour.

Might as well do a little side note on the sexualisation topic even though I don’t have much to add. If it is a sexualised outfit and was intended to be so I’ll trust that judgement but I can’t see it past how silly the costume looks. Same with Claire’s western one. Of all the revelations 2 DLC costumes, Natalia is the only one I really like because it’s so adorable. The rest are kind of a miss for me. I’m guessing the aim was like a costume party or something? I don’t know for the only DLC looks we got it’s a little depressing.

I think I developed a bit of a disdain for this costume because of what we could have had.

Life is so unfair sometimes.

Animal backpacks instead of animal onesies lol. Everyday only. This is another one of those weird maxis outfits for toddlers/kids that have two exact copies for male and female sims instead of just making one that was unisex, but hey, more outfits for me to default lol. This only replaces the female version, so don't be alarmed if there is still a set of the original onesies in your male toddler section. This outfit is unisex though.

I drew Phoebus’ hose thinking it’s one piece like modern stockings because that’s how modern film costumers/Renaissance cosplay often interpret hosen (and to be fair, how often can we look under doublets to see what’s beneath them?). In reality, because elastic fabrics are not a thing then, hosen are separate leg-long form fitting articles of clothing you tie to belts beneath your doublet, worn over loose underwear that is basically the predecessor to modern trunks. One-piece outer legwear did not roughly start until breeches came into fashion.

A common gag you’ll see in Medieval/Renaissance art are the breeches becoming undone at the belt and then falling down to expose the man’s butt/underwear. Which is PROBABLY what’d happen to Phoebus given he’s writhing on the floor in that posture.

The only reason I’m not changing/fixing the error is because it’d be a scene killer, lmao. Ah well.

and i can definitely answer that! for procreate i've tried a lot but i end up liking a lot of the default ones. i highlighted the ones i use the most:

bardot brush pixel set (FREE) bardot brush pencil set ($14, 30% OFF right now) visualtimmy sketchy inkers set ($20, 50% OFF right now)

tbh I haven't found a pixel brush as good as mspaint's default but bardot's does the trick. & i think the other brushes in bardot's pencil set are good, but frankly i don't find myself using them often... but something that isn't for me could be for u and vice versa!

in general i will use a brush that i feel suits the feeling i want, and even though i have a lot i don't like to use a huge variety 😅 i prefer sketching with a uniform brushstroke size so narinder pencil nation rise up!!
