Had weird thoughts about Dino Thunder after marathoning it and had to write it down.
Tommy: Black, Red, White, Green Grid compatible, but could also probably carry on like a strobe light if given half the chance, because he is The Special, so I'm not getting into the meaning.
Conner: Red Grid compatible, but, like, how ROCKY was Red Grid compatible. Is better in a small group, so they can share the burden. Kind of wish they'd done more with him in Beyond the Grid than just that one panel with Terona.
Ethan: Blue Grid compatible, but the entire time I watched the series my brain kept thinking a very stupid thought in that--should he be? Given all of the stuff all of these teens went through in equal measure, he seems to be the one to get in over his head or have shit tossed at him almost as much as Trent. I kinda feel like he would make a very good Green.
Kira: I get why she's Yellow. Yellow needed someone as sassy and in the moment/down to earth as her to ground the boys. I get it. But she should have either had a different Dino Zord or been given Pink as a secondary color. It kinda pisses me off.
Trent: They should have made his clone earlier to have made the secret keeping bullshit draw out and actually mean something. I'm happy that he's a White Ranger with a PAST that is not all sunshine and rainbows and is clearly mentally ill due to the strain and whatever was happening the entire time with Anton and Mesagog; but also I feel like he could have pulled in extra attention from Hayley, Devin, and Cassidy--because he's the member of the team with that vibe and it was SO wasted.
Hayley: Everyone has already said this, but I'll say it too. She should have been gay and hooked up with Elsa at the end, but more than that, she felt WAY more like an additional SPECIAL Ranger than most other tech support in PR. She would have been lovely in Gold or Silver, just sayin'.
Cassidy: They CODED her Purple. They coded the shit out of her and it pisses me off that it never went anywhere. She is regal, bossy, go in or go home; but more than that she has the Purple indicator of The Planner. A lot of her plans didn't go anywhere, but some of them DID and that feels important to a member of a comedy duo. Although I am a little grateful that this wasn't obvious because her hooking up ONCE with Ethan lead to--
Devin: Ethan was actually friends with this little softie who is so incredibly Orange coded that it makes me want to cry. Cass might be the Planner, but Devin is the DOER--he questions, he hesitates, but he gets the job DONE. And when we get to the end of the season, somehow unsurprisingly, he is gamer buddies with Ethan in a way that works for both of them. The Blue/Orange dynamic that could have been a building block for MORE to come. All these thoughts basically just boil down to my BEGGING the universe that when the comics get into the Dino Thunder series, some things get addressed that were missed on. Please.

top 5 places in argentina? like, places you'd recommend to foreigners visiting your country? especially if they're not particularly famous
(hope that's not too intrusive for you, it's alright if you're not comfortable answering!)
what a great question, thank you! (it probably will end up being popular places, but let's be honest, they're popular for a reason and i want everyone to know about them!)
bariloche - i think the south of argentina is possibly the most beautiful spot on earth, and i absolutely adore bariloche. yes, there are other towns that are probably prettier (san martín de los andes, villa la angostura, all worthy of a visit), but i've been lucky enough to go to bariloche many times thanks to a friend with family there, so it's very special to me. some of the most spectacular vistas everywhere, lots of trekking to do, sailing excursions, and even action adventures las rafting and the like, it's such a perfect place for me (bonus for my most favorite place there, the tea house bellevue, obligatory stop there!). i've only really visited during summer (except for that one time with the school graduation trip, of course), but i'd love to see it in winter, it must be gorgeous!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(here are some pics of mine, this last one is the view from bellevue, it's so dreamy!)
glaciar perito moreno - ok, while we're still in patagonia, i might as well mention the perito moreno glacier, cause it's honestly jawdropping. to be there, in silence, looking at that massive wall of ice, it's humbling and awe-inspiring, i don't know how else to put it. and if you're lucky enough to see the ice breaking and falling, i can't imagine how that would feel like. of course, global warming is definitely troubling when it comes to natural wonders like this, but man, it's simply incredible. i've heard there are excursions to walk on the ice as well, that's a bit scary to me, but it must be one hell of an experience.
Tumblr media
valle de la luna and talampaya - two national parks (the first one literally called "valley of the moon", but its real name is national park ischigualasto) they are...something else. the valle de la luna is possibly the most otherwordly place i've ever seen. it's this vastness of rock carved by the wind, the sun, the water for millions of years, truly looking like an alien landscape. you can literally see the evolution of the earth in its geological formations, and it's also really important for paleontological research. talampaya is right next door and it's breathtaking as well, reddish and strange and wonderful (first pics are the valley of the moon, the other two talampaya).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
cataratas del iguazú - probably the most famous one (natural wonder of the world!) but like, for a goddamned reason! absolutely insane experience that i'd love to relive someday because i was very young when i went there. but yeah, standing there and seeing the intense, beautiful, dangerous force of nature that is those immense waterfalls, it's crazy. i mean, one of the sections of the waterfall is called garganta del diablo, devil's throat, so yeah, this shit is POWERFUL. i'd loveee to do one of those crazy boat trips that get close to the waterfalls, that seems insane lmao. also i think they did night trips to the garganta del diablo? that must be a religious experience!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ciudad de buenos aires - i mean of courseeee i'm gonna say buenos airessss that is my PLACE. and sure, you know how a lot of the times natives end up knowing a lot less about their city than the tourists that come visit? yeah, i'm probably not the best guide, but i could show you the places that TRULY matter, like the botanical gardes that i love to chill in, and the street i love to walk on especially when the jacarandá trees are in bloom, or the cemetery that we all love, or that vegan place with kinda mid food but a really cool, funky atmosphere, or that escape room i've been meaning to go to. what i'm trying to say is that buenos aires is my place in the world, and i could never, ever leave here. i carry it in my bones and in my blood (and for the argentines reading this, Y SI, puta...y porteña <3). no professional, touristy pics here, just some random shit from my camera roll.

Question: ¿Cómo puedes protegerte y prepararte espiritualmente hoy?

prompt for the song lyrics: Bye, bye, baby; don't be long//I worry about you, when you're gone & Dino Thunder's Trent?
Title: hungry for blood Fandom: Power Rangers Dino Thunder; Boom! Comics Power Rangers; Shattered Grid. Character Tags: Trent Fernandez-Mercer; Farkas Bulkmeier; Justin Stewart; Zack Taylor; Trini; etc. Relationship Tags: Trent Fernandez-Mercer/Cassidy Cornell/Devil Del Valle; Trent & Bulk. Additional Tags: Never a Ranger AU; World of the Coinless; Trauma; Mutilation; Mention of Torture; Angst With a Happy Ending. Summary: How does one carry on after watching their third parent being killed in front of them by a tyrant hell bent on collecting people he might find useful in his new world, but can’t tolerate allowing to live if they’re unwilling to help him? By all rights, Trent should not have survived after Anton was slaughtered in his own labs by Drakkon. After hiding for two days in a trick wall that Anton had been using to hide a pretty gem that glowed, but didn’t do much of anything else but flicker in Trent’s palm; the child should have starved out in the forests, far from the maddening crowd. But he didn’t. Bulk showed up. Bulk was doing recon and searching out wild birds to snare and wild mushrooms to bring back to the Coinless. Bulk brought home a skinny little child, thin as a rake, shaking like a leaf in late autumn to learn to hide and fight and run when more of those bad men found him in their path. How very strange, that a fourth parent should find him, should look upon his little face at over six feet tall, and should decide to do his best to keep him forever. Still, it could always have been worse.

La Cantata del Diablo (The Devil's Cantata)
TRANSLITERATION
In Nominne Diabulus et
Acepta a Cristo y encomiéndate,
Pues pronto darás cuentas a él.
Diabulus in Gaia, missit me Dominus
Diabulus in Gaia, missit me Dominus
Quisiera no morir.
[Narrador]:Me inventaré otra vida
In Nominne Diabulus et
Belial,Satán, Lucifer, Astaroth, et Yahvé.
Gaia, Gaia.
[Azaak]: Hoy la vida llueve penas
Gotas de desesperación
Mis lagrimas, son ríos, venas
Desangrándome el corazón.
[Azaak]: La memoria de una mujer
Son los besos que recibió
En tus labios yo viviré
Y en tu olvido yo moriré.
[Azaak]: Hoy mis lágrimas se quieren suicidar
Acurrucadas, morir en tu piel
Han nacido secas, tienen sed
Mi llanto hoy se quiere morir.
[Gaia]:Como un beso prometido
A tu alma es mi voz
Soy lo muerto y lo vivido
Soy la calma, soy tu Dios.
[Gaia]:Cierra los ojos y te llevaré
Donde los sueños se hacen canción
La vida duele, te curaré
Duérmete y sueña, te acuna mi voz.
Hoy mis lágrimas se quieren suicidar
Acurrucadas, morir en tu piel
Han nacido secas, tienen sed
Mi llanto hoy se quiere morir.
[Gaia]:Si tus lágrimas se quieren suicidar
Guárdalas pues vas a llorar
Diabulus in Gaia, missit me Dominus
Diabulus in Gaia, missit me Dominus
Missit me Dominus
Missit me Diabulus
Missit me Satanás
Gaia
Padre nuestro, ciego, sordo y desocupado
¿Por qué nos has abandonado?
TRANSLATION
In the name of the Devil and Belial,
Satan, Lucifer, Astaroth and Yahweh.
[Narrator]: Night falls, eternal fog
Light is already hiding
Barren cold, breaks and freezes
the tears of the heart.
[Narrator]: Life dreams that are going to die
It is hard to live in fragments of fear,
Dreams of death, stay awake
Holy condemnation, act of faith
[Priest]: In the name of the only religion
We sentence you and condemn you
To the merciful purification
Of fire and pain.
[Priest]: In the hands of God, you must place
Your soul, your property and all your sins,
Accept Christ and commend yourself,
For soon, you'll be judged by him.
Devil on Gaia, the Lord has sent me
Devil on Gaia,
 the Lord has sent me
[Azak]: I wish I were the wind so I could run from me
Let silence hush, let terror be struck dumb,
I would like to never die.
[Narrator]: I will invent a new life for myself
I will decorate my dreams,
And cover them with your kisses
-he thought-
Burn my soul too!
[Priest]: Do you reject Satan, his works and his vices?
Necromance, magic and Tarot?
I am the virtue of the Church and its principles
If you do not repent, your soul will be condemned.
Today, freedom has fallen asleep and silent
Today, freedom has closed due to its passing
Today, freedom died from sorrow and melancholy
There is no freedom today,
nor is God here, nor will he come
[Narrator]: I wish I were oblivion, to never remember
I wish I were the wind, to be able to caress life once more
Oh, the promise of another life together with God is so cold
For in this life, he was absent, and the stake is his coffin
[Priest]: Before dying, and before the fire does its work
Do you accept Christ, the Church and its power?
Do you renounce the God called Nature?
Gaia is only mother
To sin and terror.
Today, freedom has fallen asleep and silent
Today, freedom has closed due to its passing
Today, freedom died from sorrow and melancholy
There is no freedom today,
nor is God here, nor will he come
In the name of the Devil and Belial,
Satan, Lucifer, Astaroth and Yahweh.
Gaia, Gaia.
[Azaak]: Today, life rains sorrow
Drops of despairMy tears are rivers, veins
Bleeding out my heart.
[Azaak]: The memory of a woman
Are the kisses she received
I will live in your lips
I will die in your oblivion
[Azaak]: Today, my tears want to commit suicide.
To snuggle up and die on your skin.
They were born dry, they are thirsty
My tears want to die today.
[Gaia]: Like a promissed kiss
My voice is to your soulI am what died and what lived
I am tranquility, I am your God.
[Gaia]: Close your eyes, I will take you
Where dreams turn into songs
Life hurts, I will heal you
Sleep now and dream, my voice rocks you.
Today, my tears want to commit suicide.
To snuggle up and die on your skin.
They were born dry, they are thirsty
My tears want to die today.
[Gaia]: If your tears want to commit suicide
Save them, for you will cry
You will cry oceans of peace
Sleep now! There's no more pain!
 In the name of freedom
Faith in oneself and peace
Burn the flags, say no to religion!
Let God be your song
Composed by your heart
And let your country be wherever your feet take you
Devil on Gaia,
the Lord has sent me
Devil on Gaia,
the Lord has sent me
The Lord has sent me
The Lord has sent me
Satan has sent me
Gaia
 [Gaia]: Now I'm finally air
My curse will fall
The end of this Church will come very soon
My voice will awaken
Today, freedom has fallen asleep and silent
Today, freedom has closed due to its passing
Today, freedom died from sorrow and melancholy
There is no freedom today,
nor is God here, nor will he come
Today, freedom has fallen asleep and silent
There is no freedom today,
God is not here today
God is not here today,
God is not here nor will he come!!!
Our father, of us all
Of the poor, of the homeless
Of the marginalized and those without protection
Of the disowned and the owners of misery,
Of your followers, and those who no longer believe in you
Come down from Heaven, for Hell is here,
Leave your throne, for there are wars, hunger and injustice
You do not need to be one and three simultaneously,
Just your wanting to help would be enough.
Which is your Kingdom?
The Vatican?The banks?High politics?
Our Kingdom is Nigeria Ethiopia, Colombia, Hiroshima
Our daily bread are rapes,
Gender violence, pederasty,
Dictatorships, climate change.
I fall into temptation every day,
There is no morning in which
I'm not tempted to create a fair and humble God
A God who dwells on Earth
In the valleys, the rivers
A God who dwells in the rain,
Who travels with the wind and caresses our souls.
A God of the sad, of the homosexuals
A more human God
A God who does not punish,
But instead teaches.
A God who does not threaten but protect.
Who will help me get up if I fall,
Who will give me his hand if I get lost.
A God who does not blame me for mistakes
Who will understand me if I doubt
Since for that reason did he endow me intelligence
To doubt everything.
Our father, of us all
Why have you forgotten us?
Our father, blind, deaf and unoccupied
Why have you forsaken us?

A lack of timely hitting and untimely mistakes on the field and base paths resulted in a 4-0 loss for the Vancouver Canadians against the Tri-City Dust Devils on Opening Night at Gesa Stadium. The Dust Devils loaded the bases against Luke Gillingham in the fifth but the Navy Midshipmen induced what appeared to be an inning-ending ground ball off the bat of Francisco Del Valle to Spencer Horwitz…

The House of the Spirits
Author: Isabel Allende
Pages read: 1-50
Word count: 456
Summary
The del Valle family have unique abilities. The oldest daughter, Rosa, was blessed with extreme beauty with unique features while the youngest, Clara, was blessed with psychic abilities. The family went to a mass on Holy Thursday, however, they are not Catholic. Severo, the father of the family, only went to create a good image of himself to fulfill his political ambitions towards Congress. During the mass, Clara cussed in front of the priest in which he claimed that Clara was being possessed by the devil himself. Severo, worried for their reputation, fled the church along with his family. The perspective then changes to Rosa's lover, Esteban. He confesses his love and asks her for her hand in marriage in which Rosa and her parents agree on. Later on, Severo gets invited to be the Liberal party candidate and out of excitement the family celebrates by throwing a party. During the party, Clara states that an accidental death will occur in the family. Shortly after, Rosa catches a cold and gets prescribed a brandy by her doctor. Rosa later dies after drinking the brandy because it was accidentally poisoned.
Critical Analysis
It is interesting how the novel shifts to different perspectives such as the beginning started off with Barrabas, a dog Clara adopted to dedicate Uncle Marcos, to the church then to Uncle Marcos' death back to the church then to Esteban confessing his love then to the family celebrating Severos candidate invitation. Its all very confusing and its just the beginning of the story. The novel overall is well put but gets easily confusing once youre into it. The story goes from, "Barrabas came to us by sea. the child Clara wrote in her delicate calligraphy." (1) to "It was a bland, autumnal day that gave no hint of the events that the child would record, which took place during the noon mass..." (1) in just a few sentences.
Personal Response
I am enjoying the story so far. It did seem a bit boring since it started off slow at a church. The shift in between stories was also confusing to me. However, after Clara stated her prediction on the death of a family member and Rosa later dying is what got me interested in the book. I feel as though more predictions like Rosa dying will occur and, weird to say this, i’m actually excited for what will happen next. I also feel as though the title, The House of the Spirits, is about the family members dying and turning into spirits that live in the family’s home because in the story they did mention resurrection and spirits. I did have seconds thoughts about this book at first but now i’m intrigued in finding out what happens next.

Classic Euro Horror from Masters of the Macabre: Mario Bava, Jean Rollin & Jess Franco Now Available Digitally on Kino Now
With October upon us, Kino Now brings you a selection of Euro Horror classics from three masters of the macabre: Mario Bava, Jean Rollin, and Jess Franco.
Tumblr media
These stylish horror auteurs each brought a unique approach to the genre that transformed it in exciting new directions. Bava’s colorful, lurid tales of terror have been cited as an influence on everyone from Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola to Quentin Tarantino and Tim Burton. Rollin’s dark, dreamlike fantasies pioneered the erotic vampire genre and Franco’s uncompromising exploitation films had a major impact on slasher movies to follow.
Get ready for Halloween with these and other Euro Horror cult favorites listed below! Available on KinoNow.com
Kill, Baby...Kill! Directed by Mario Bava In a turn of the century Transylvanian village, a doctor arrives to investigate a young maid’s mysterious death, only to learn the legend of a deceased girl whose ball-bouncing ghost may be driving the locals to suicide… With its hallucinatory colors and sinister moods, this is the pinnacle of Gothic Euro-horror, an influence on Scorsese, Lynch, Fellini, Argento, del Toro, and countless others, and the ideal entry point into Mario Bava’s body of work.
Black Sunday Directed by Mario Bava After being crucified for devil worship, Barbara Steele, in her breakthrough role, is brought back to life to haunt her 19th-century descendants, and sets her sights on possessing young Katia (also played by Steele). Adapted from a Nikolai Gogol short story and filled with cobwebs and blood, Bava’s first on-screen directorial credit defined Italian Gothic and remains a richly atmospheric masterwork.
Fascination Directed by Jean Rollin Inspired by a purportedly fact-based Jean Lorrain short story, one of Jean Rollin’s most-admired works showcases his frequent collaborator Brigitte Lahaie (at the time France’s top adult-films star) and discovery Franka Mai (later a novelist). It’s the early 20th century, and thief Jean-Marie Lemaire double-crosses his partners in crime and hides out in a château, confident he can handle chambermaids Lahaie and Mai But all bets are off, even before the sun goes down.
The Iron Rose Directed by Jean Rollin Eerie and sensual, this love story finds Jean Rollin in a particularly contemplative mode. Françoise Pascal (later a UK sitcom star) and Hugues Quester (later of Kieslowski’s Blue) catch each other’s eye and flirt their way into a graveyard frolic. After canoodling in a tomb, they emerge into a nighttime world and find themselves lost and disoriented, with the sinking feeling of a no-exit scenario. Rollin trouper Mireille Dargent appears—as she often would for him—in clown makeup.
Female Vampire Directed by Jess Franco Channeling his deepest libidinal desires and darkest fears into films, with no apparent concern for narrative convention or the boundaries of mainstream taste, Jess Franco is a cinematic iconoclast. Here, his wife Lina Romay stars as the mysterious Countess Irina Karlstein, a beautiful vampiress who feeds on victims at their moments of sexual climax. Because she destroys those whose essence she consumes, Irina is doomed to a life of solitude, wandering through the Western Coast of Europe in a dreamlike state, shrouded in a lush musical score by Daniel White.
The Awful Dr. Orlof Directed by Jess Franco Jess Franco’s career was launched by what is generally considered the first horror film produced in Spain. Cloaking the story in the visual style of the British gothic film, Franco injected Orlof with the kind of morbid eroticism that would quickly become his signature. Howard Vernon stars as a diabolical surgeon who, with the help of his blind minion Morpho (Ricardo Valle), lures beautiful women into the operating room of his stone castle, so they may provide the raw materials for a series of experimental face grafts for his disfigured daughter.

“Five interesting nonfiction books”
The Savage Detectives by Roberto Bolano
The Savage Detectives recounts the history of avant-garde poets from 1975 in Mexico City until 1996 in Africa. Their literary movement, visceral realism, begins with a mischievous revolutionary fervor but later spins apart through jealousy, murder, flight, despair, insanity, and, in a very few cases, self-discovery. Although the underlying plotline is straightforward, the narrative structure and multiple points of view belong uniquely to this novel. It is divided into three sections that present the story out of chronological order.
“Mexicans Lost in Mexico” concerns the last two months of 1975 and takes place wholly in Mexico City. It is told through the diary entries of Juan García Madero, a seventeen-year-old whose ambition is to study literature and become a poet. He encounters two older poets, Arturo Belano and Ulysses Lima. Belano and Lima are poètes maudits, the founders of visceral realism, which is defined mostly by its vigorous opposition to mainstream Mexican literature. They gather about them a variety of younger poets, painters, and dancers, publish magazines, organize or invade poetry readings, and migrate from one dive to another in endless discussion. To finance their literary work they peddle marijuana. By chance, the pair discovers that a previous poet also used the term visceral realism to describe a literary movement. This poet is Cesárea Tinajero, a shadowy figure from the 1920’s known for a single published poem. Belano and Lima decide to track her down.

The house of spirits by Isabelle Allende
On the day that the priest accused her of being possessed by the devil and that her Uncle Marcos's body was delivered to her house accompanied by a puppy, Barrabás, Clara del Valle began keeping a journal. Fifty years later, her husband Esteban and her granddaughter Alba refer to these journals as they piece together the story of their family.
Clara is a young girl when Barrabás arrives at the del Valle house. Her favorite sister, Rosa the Beautiful, is engaged to Esteban Trueba. Clara is clairvoyant and is able to predict almost every event in her life. She is not able to change the future, only to see it. While Esteban is off in the mines trying to make his fortune, Rosa is accidentally poisoned in the place of her father, Severo del Valle. Rosa dies. Clara is so shocked by the events that she stops talking. Nine years later, Esteban has made a fortune with his family property, Tres Marias, thanks to his hard work and to his exploitation of the local peasants. On top of exploiting their labor, Esteban exploits all of the young girls of the peasant families, notably Pancha, for his sexual satisfaction. In addition to the peasant girls, Esteban also has sexual relations with prostitutes, including Transito Soto. Transito and Esteban become friends, and he lends her money to move to the city. Esteban's mother is about to die, and he returns to the city, where he pays a visit to the del Valle home. Esteban and Clara become engaged and marry. They move into the big house on the corner that Esteban built for them. Esteban's sister Ferula moves in with them.

Seeing Red by Lina Meruane
Seeing Red, by Chilean writer Lina Meruane, is an exemplary autobiographical novel. At a party in New York City, the main character, Lina, suffers from a stroke, which causes the blood vessels behind her corneas to burst. According to her, this stroke was inevitable and doctors forewarned her of this fate. Her vision disappears behind what she describes as “black blood.” Rather than panicking, Lina walks back out into the party she’s attending, acting as normal as she can while threads of blood float across her eyes.

Curfew by José Donoso
This is the political novel Donoso was unable to write while in exile from Chile. Unlike the allegorical A House in the Country, his seventh book provides a gritty, realistic, yet eloquent vision of the author's beleaguered homeland12 years into Pinochet's dictatorship. Manungo Vera, a pop singer who has had some success in Europe but is now on the way down, returns to Santiago and is swept up in preparations for the funeral of Matilde Neruda, widow of the poet. Vera meets an old lover, Judit Torre, at a bar. The radical daughter of a wealthy father front-page headline called her a "Debutante Turned Criminal'' Judit symbolizes elitist alienation. After a near brush with death, the two join the huge crowd that has gathered at the cemetery for the funeral, now an anarchic battleground as both the left and right try to manipulate the event to their own advantage. Time is compressed into 24 hours, giving a heady urgency to the lovers' plans. Donoso's powerful vision of contemporary Chileseen through the grotesque optic that is his trademark makes Curfew an important literary event.
