No One: Me: "The average Digital World astronaut reaches space a total of one time in their entire lifetime, but more instances may be possible with advancements in Space science. Izumi Koushirou, meanwhile, who reached (Digital) ""space"" twice depending on the universe involved, (BOTH times while still as a child) is an Outlier who Should Not Be Counted"

Digimon Adventure 02 (Blind Watch) - Episode 50
Eh...I really didn't need a "babies ever after" ending for this story. This episode honestly felt kind of lazy to me, which is a shame. It didn't hit me in the feels like season 1 did and the animation looked pretty rough at times. I can excuse choppy animation mid-season, but for the finale?
Oh well. It was neat to see the time skip designs even though they're kinda bad lol. Now how much of this is gonna get retconned...
Digimon introduced: Pipimon
Notes:
-This episode honestly flew by. It felt like they wrapped up the final boss battle in 2 seconds, which I was actually relieved by. I wanted to get to the juicy epilogue part.
-I appreciated the call back to the international digi-destined. It was nice that they got to contribute again (also makes kids in the audience feel like they could be part of this)
-All of the kids joining together and the glowing lights gave me real Avengers: Endgame vibes lol (people act like the Avengers scene was so special but it's clearly been done in a lot of stuff).
-They went from "you don't need a digimon to be special" to "everybody gets a digimon!!" which felt kinda awkward. Sooo many questions about the "everyone gets a partner now" concept. Is it just kids? What if you don't want a partner? Do they mostly hang out in the digital world or just follow you everywhere? etc.
-Imperialdramon used an attack called "Giga death" which definitely doesn't sound like a good guy attack lol. (Unsurprisingly they changed this in the dub).
-Tailmon finally gets her ring back which I guess means no more jogress evolution. Do they give up some kind of evolution at the end of every season?
-It kind of bugged me when they were like "that world you were in was a world where your emotions are manifested into reality...actually the digital world does that too...and the dark world." Huh? So there's no difference between the worlds then? (At least not according to THAT explanation!)
-Oikawa's partner's name is Pipimon...PIPIMON. Imagine being minutes from death and the last thing you see is Pipimon lol. I can't.
-Most of the jobs the kids ended up with felt like they were foreshadowed except for Daisuke and Yamato. They lampshaded the fact that Daisuke's dream to become a ramen shop owner came out of nowhere but Yamato as an astronaut!? When has he ever shown the slightest interest in science? Ah well...people change
-So Takeru was narrating the show all along. I actually kind of like his adult look, but that mullet is awful...
-The children's designs are...fine, but some of them are WAY too identical to their parents. It also really bugs me that they all have the same digimon partners as their parents. What, are digimon partners hereditary or something??
-So Ken and Miyako are married but...everyone else? They didn't say! So I guess that's the only in-group partnership? While I was trying to process things I kinda thought Yamato and Taichi were a gay couple for a second there. (Just kidding, I double checked and Yamato and Sora are together too).
Digimon Adventure 02 was...fine. A fine C+/B- anime. I felt very few strong emotions to this season or its characters, but it was a fun ride. I definitely feel like the first season had a little more oomph to it, but I wouldn't say it was much better. This season was just a teensy step down. Onto the movies!

I've been thinking about the Yamato becomes an astronaut thing, and you know, in our own world space programs will approach specialists (like engineers) to recruit, because it's easier to train someone to also be an astronaut than to take an astronaut and make them a specialist. So maybe he was something else before he went to Mars.
Or maybe they send a unmanned spacecraft with a computer and he got there via Digiwarp
Can you imagine a Mars station, with the main quarters in the Digital World. Feasibility, Yamato's their Digimon expert who was cross trained.
I definitely imagine the actual distance part was covered with a probe or unmanned space craft and Digital Gate usage or something; if you can bend the laws of space-time, why not use it?
Now that Kizuna exists, my main theory as to what happened was that he took his interest in motorcycles, started pursuing engineering because he had no idea what to do with his life but at least felt he should do something relevant to his hobby, and, while he was there, got really interested in and passionate about what they were teaching him. Yamato's one of those emotionally oriented people who can get into the subject at school even without being sure how to actually apply it, so that's how he hit his decision of "I'm going to follow this into grad school even if I have no idea what I'll actually do with it." So as you said, basically, starting with more traditional engineering or some other relevant field and moving towards the space program. Then, after the events of Kizuna happened, he fell into his surroundings and the romantic dream of "going into space with Gabumon" and the rest was history.
I definitely like the idea of being cross-trained and there being an equivalent base in the Digital World, especially since what they say in the epilogue having so much extra emphasis about "being the first astronaut with a Digimon partner". They didn't make a big deal about being on Mars or anything -- presumably because the laws of space-time were bent a long time ago -- and more about the changed protocol to take Digimon into account. He may well not be the first one on Mars at all, but definitely the first one with a partner. Also that whole thing about investigating the power of evolution in space (and the fact he apparently is expected to get back quickly in time for his kid's entrance ceremony). So basically, it's just a combination of everything quintessentially Yamato: "falling" into a career path by happenstance and personal interest, getting into it via romanticism and bond with Gabumon, and ultimately being the one most passionate about following his "Chosen Child" duties even all the way into adulthood.

Chapter 16: A Musician and His Muse (Colourised) The finale for Mon ange & my Yakari/Hiyama two-parter
An snippet :
I can’t stop stimming my hands, the sound of my girlfriend washing up in the bathroom. For tonight, I asked if Gabumon and Tailmon could wait in the digital space Koushiro provided; bless their hearts for understanding. Hikari-chan comes out with a gentle smile, and behind her, I can see the pregnancy test resting on the sink.
“Is it…?” I’m too afraid to put the question forward, Hikari-chan simply settles down on my lap. “Before that,” she pushes my hair back, soothing me with her dainty fingers, “How would you actually feel if I told you I was carrying your baby, Yama-kun?” I kiss the curve of her shoulder, burying a portion of my face against her skin. “Quite frankly, I would be scared. I’d be mad at myself for not using protection, for making you a mother when you’re only nineteen and in your first year of university.” I wrap one arm around her protectively, my other hand reaching out for her cheek; stroking it as I hold her loving gaze.
“But it would be everything I’ve dreamed of and wanted for since I was a kid: to have a family I’d care for even after I’ve passed on to the next life. And Ange , I love you so, so much, even if that day came right now - whatever I hold and am as a person, that belongs to you and our baby.” Closing her eyes briefly, Hikari-chan presses our lips together, and it’s now I realise she’s been crying. I hold her tighter, closer to my soul, and kiss her back. Between the sniffles, I feel her whisper against my lips : “...then I’m sorry it’s negative , Yamato.”
I blink in denial, then slowly pull away as my girlfriend’s face is fresh with tears and has a smile of mixed emotions. “Y-you’re not pregnant?” my eyes immediately darted back to the pregnancy test. “Not now at least,” she confirms with a hint of her own disappointment, “But I guess that makes the two of us...because deep down just like you, Yama-kun, I wanted to have your children too.” I adjust our position so we’re both lying on the bed, arms and legs entangled like a cocoon of comfort; facing each other after that pregnancy scare. “But that’s for ‘now’,” I reassure her as wipe away her tears, and in return my own form, “You know how we never planned on falling in love? But it just happened, it felt so right , and look at us now.” I’ll need to take Dad out as a special thank you one of these days.
“You’ve been by my side since we were kids, Yama-kun,” Hikari-chan tugs onto my clothes, resting her head against my chest, “Ever since we became official… no, even before that - you’ve been with me through it all. Helping and cheering me on with whatever is thrown my way...holding me just like this when I’m not ready to face them too.” “We’ll be parents one day, where you’ll be a kindergarten teacher and I’ll be an astronaut,” I share a dream of what could be our forever, “Tailmon and Gabumon would help take care of the kids while also helping save the world.” She gets a laugh out of that, her breathing slowing down as I feel the rise and fall of her chest. “You’d still strum your guitar or pick up a harmonica, I’ll probably be that Mum who won’t stop taking pictures of everything,” Hikari-chan’s voice is softer and lower, as if she’s about to fall asleep, “And we’d bring our kids for a picnic to the Digital World...perhaps on August 1st too with all the other Chosen Children...when we’ll have our immediate family, and extended on…” Her words turn into snores as I maneuver around for the blanket to cover us both. Before I slip into the realm of dreams myself, I catch sight of the pregnancy test one last time; then focus on my sleeping girlfriend. “I got us so worked up over something so small...but that’s what being a parent is. Ange , I’m sorry I made you cry again. I pray that next time and that next time will be a few years down the road - when you pick up the pregnancy test then, we’ll both be crying because you’ll have a star or two growing in your belly. And those stars will be our kids .” Just as I did that one Christmas night, I lowered my head to kiss Hikari-chan’s forehead. “Until then, let’s enjoy being young adults together, learning and growing with time.”

Digimon Adventure: 2020 – Episode 18: Countdown To Tokyo’s Annihilation (Review)
Thoughts on the eighteenth episode of the Digimon Adventure reboot series.
This episode was a weird one for me. There was action, and the plot ends up going somewhere, but it still felt like nothing really happened?
Nidhoggmon is one scary looking digimon.
I actually liked the moment Yamato finally called Taichi by his first name, even if there wasn’t that much of a build up to it. I’m Taito trash, I guess. :P (Though I wish Yamato had referred to Sora as “Takenouchi” just once before this happened . . . because I’m sure he’s going to use first names for all of them from now on.)
While I love Omegamon (he is my favourite digimon), the fact that he showed up in the first few episodes makes his reappearance now quite underwhelming . . . been there, done that, you know? Also, having Takeru and Hikari “help” create him again annoys me. In the OG, having Angemon and Angewomon shoot arrows at Taichi and Yamato to reach Mega was fine, because it only happened once. Here, Takeru and Hikari already helped earlier . . . I hope it’s not going to be established that Takeru and Hikari need to help Taichi and Yamato evolve to Omegamon. (Though, obviously, it does make sense that they need to so early on in the story, where no one has even reached Mega yet - but I want Omegamon to be “just” Taichi and Yamato’s power down the track.)
In Takeru’s apartment, under the astronaut poster, there is a plane. Again, I can imagine Yamato influencing Takeru with his love of toy planes and interest in flying and space and it’s all so adorable. :)
So it seems Takeru has been transported to the Digital World, but Hikari has not? His hands digitised while hers didn’t, and we saw her later on, still in Tokyo. I’m assuming this is because they’re following the OG where Takeru was in the Digital World with the others, before Hikari joins them later as the Eighth Child.
When Omegamon appears, Sora is actually physically pointing at him. I thought it looked funny. :P
The other kids might as well just get out popcorn to watch The Taito Show. :P
When Omegamon was doing the final strike against Nidhoggmon, Taichi and Yamato screamed like they were going Super Saiyan, haha.
Yuuko: “Hikari!” Hikari: “Mum.” Yuuko: “I’m so glad!” Hikari: “Yeah . . . Mum, Taichi’s OK.” Yuuko: “What?” Hikari: “I can tell.” Don’t worry, Hikari, your mum wasn’t thinking about her other child at all. :P
So Sora, Koushirou, Mimi and Jou literally just sat on their arses the entire time, doing nothing but watching Taichi and Yamato, just to get sucked away from the main plot in the end . . . OK, sure, you do you reboot. :P
Devimon is the longest tease ever. He does seem cool though, but he better be a worthy adversary (and not die in one episode). I liked that he finally revealed himself to Taichi and Yamato (because it’s been such a long tease), but I question . . . why? lol
So I’m pretty bummed that Takeru and Hikari didn’t join the team this episode, when I thought they would and was looking forward to the team being complete . . . I’m amazed Toei has held off on them for so long. It’s been months since the series started and we’ve rarely seen Hikari, and Takeru even less. They are really playing the long game here. Kinda impressed, kinda annoyed. :P
I also thought the entire group would be together again after the Ultimate group splits . . . I was really looking forward to them being a team and interacting with each other. But now they’re split up again? SIGH. Hopefully they reunite really soon though, because even I’m getting tired of the reboot being The Taito Show (and they consist of two of my three favourite characters!).
This episode wasn’t it, folks. The Omegamon bits did feel “epic” but the episode itself felt strangely muted. Here’s hoping next week is better, but it looks like it’s just going to focus solely on Taichi and Yamato . . .
I really think Toei Animation need to understand that if you’re going to have eight protagonists, you need to give all eight time to develop and shine. Taichi may be the main protagonist, and Yamato the second main, and they are absolutely the most popular, but . . . there are other characters with their own fans, too.
Please acknowledge all your creations, Toei.

Second Generation Headcanons
These are my headcanons of how the children from the epilogue would be. I know most folks don´t like the epilogue (For the most part I still don’t know how to feel about it) but I do, however in my head Takari and Koumi are canon (there are people who like the epilogue but don’t like including non explicit canon ships) (I won’t be mentioning them just in case), I really love the design for the kids!!!
Tumblr media
Let’s start:
The following fanart is done by the amazing Mishy (who let me use her art for this post) (go check her out x)
Tumblr media
Sora and Yamato’s kids: (sorry I suck at naming characters so don’t expect names)
The only ones who were fully planned they waited a while to have kids because:
1. Were busy building successful and time demanding careers.
2. Given their own childhood issues, they both agreed to wait until both were 100% on board and could provide a healthy household for their kids to grow up.
Were scared shitless anyways
Yamato is the cool uncle who is an astronaut, all the kids LOVE him, and he loves all the kids. Always brings every single one of them presents from his travels or science/related ones.
The son:
Tiny baby (the takeru of the group), everyone is so protective of him not only his sister and cousins. His Digimon follows the gabumon line and is really powerful so he doesn’t really need the extra protection (but everyone ignores this)
Inherited the crest of light. He is a ray of sunshine
Ok hear me out. I think the chosen lost/gave up their crest sometime between kizuna and the epilogue and while their kids got the same baby Digimon as their parents, the crest were redistributed according to their own personality traits.
That scared his parents, because they saw how it burdened Hikari. Even if the darkness was placated years ago (whatever was after Hikari is gone), it couldn’t be truly destroyed. Still, this crest carries a lot of power and responsibility.
Hikari came over and took him to the park and over ice cream explained the crest to him and reassured them all that they have nothing to be worried about and they could contact her anytime in case something happens.
The daughter:
Bearer of the crests of Love and Friendship.
Scarily similar to both of her parents.
Loves to play and participate in group activities, but also enjoys being alone sometimes.
Really into art, she is never seen without her sketch book and a pen. All the paintings in her house are painted by her. And her mother also incorporates some of them into her designs or uses them as inspiration.
100% Daddy’s girl. She looks up to Yamato so much, even dresses a little like him and keeps her hair short for a while (she loves it when they tell her she looks like him).
Loves to hang out with Taichi’s son. They are in the same school.
Had an emo phase.
Tumblr media
Miyako and Ken’s children:
The babies having babies. I am emo.
They both work a lot, but miyako does it from home (she works with Koushiro, fight me). They still take them to the park a lot and go on family trips all the time.
THE DAUGHTER:
Little shit.
Actual genius. Always doing experiments, don’t be surprised if you see the dog with a phone taped to his collar, she is probably trying something. Loves computers but science is her thing. After all these years they let her be as long as 1. She is home, 2. Doesn’t involve the digimons, 3. Doesn’t involve fire.
One time Yamato gave her a chemistry set. They had to move out to another building. After that, Ken asked him to bring her moon rocks from now on. She also loved the rocks
Loves to roast everyone in the family (mostly Miyako). Ken has to remind her not to be so rude to her mom. She adores her parents, but this brings her joy.
Crest of purity. Mimi is proud of her
Don’t be fooled, she is the goggle kid of this gen.
The son
Actual cinnamon roll, too pure for this world.
Calm personality. It contrasts a little from his sister’s. But if she is up to something, he is the only one 100% aware of it and would follow her to the end of the world.
Miyako thought she was coercing him, but no, he loves his older sister’s ideas and plans.
Crest of Love.  He is really in tune with other people’s feelings, it concerns his parents because he can be overly empathetic sometimes and it affects him. He is really open and wears his heart on his sleeve.
He tells everything to his mom, and if something goes wrong, he’s the first one to contact the adults.
Tumblr media
Iori’s daughter
Iori was the youngest to have a kid, he knew it, but he really wanted his grandfather to meet his kid and see him happy and married before he died.
He isn’t sappy or overly romantic, but he believes in love at first sight, meet his wife on his first day in college and didn’t look back.
Lives in the same building as takeru. They drink tea together in the afternoons like old british ladies
The kid
Looks like a cinnamon roll but is Little shit 2. Best friends with little shit 1 and Takeru’s son.
Again, Ken has to make sure they aren’t overly mean to Miyako and Iori.
Crests of knowledge. Wants to know everything about the digimons and the digital world.
Has Iori wrapped around her finger since day one, but he is the first one to call her out her BS.
Isn’t into kendo but likes to try different extracurricular activities (still hasn’t found what she likes yet), but Iori is her #1 fan everytime.
Jyou’s son
Jyou moved around the country for a while, so his kid didn’t grow up as close to the others. He still made sure they all hung out together whenever he was in town.
“I have to make sure you don’t miss me”
“oh, it isn’t like you were around much when we were young”
“MIMI-KUN!”
The kid
Gomamon’s biggest fan. He and his own Bukamon were his only friends for a while, he can’t wait for bukamon to digivolve so he can be with TWO gomamons.
When they moved back, He got close to Takeru’s kid. Doesn’t get what the fuss about his father is about.
He knows a lot about digimons but is more into engineering. Doesn’t like blood.
Inherited his father’s lack of chill. Has a little crush on iori’s daughter (hasn’t figured out how to act around her, yet).
Crest of purity/reliability.
Tumblr media
Takeru’s son
He is with Hikari and their kids are siblings. Please let me have this.
Takeru really loves his nephew and niece. He totally would spoil them rotten.
Designated Babysitter. Since he is a freelancer, you can say he has a lot of free time (not to his face tho), he likes to take the kids to amusement parks, go for ice cream, etc.…
After his lonely childhood he is loving having such a big family now. I CrY.
The kid.
Grew up listening to his father’s stories every night.
One thing he learned about them was the importance of being prepared all the time and think before he acts. He is thoughtful, so he really related to Jyou.
Not only that, Jyou is his hero. Takeru was really amused at first when his son would ask him questions about him after his bedtime stories. He is fond of his son admiration for his friend, who also saved him when he was younger, and knows that Jyou being away contributed to this.
Carries a backpack with him all the time. You want water? He got it. You need tissues? He has some. Some kid at school is being mean to you? He would show up to walk you home. (doesn’t like violence)
Crests of reliability. The kid was ecstatic.
At first, he got close to Jyou’s son so he could talk about his dad but ended up really liking the kid. (he likes to be friends with everyone)
Best friends with Iori’s daughter. And hella overprotective of his cousins.
Hikari’s son:
Please
Designated babysitter 2. She is really good with kids, tho she also helps organize plans for only the adults.
Tailmon disappeared one day when she was heavily pregnant, she looked for her the whole day and finally found her in her mother’s house. Tailmon told her she was worried that when she had the baby, she wouldn’t like having her around anymore.
Hikari reassured her that she would love them all equally and she will need her now more than ever. They cried and made up, then her water broke.
Taichi totally cried nonstop the day she gave birth. She still teases him about it.
The kid:
Healthy as a horse, athletic and tall. Total opposite from his mother except for his looks. It amuses Taichi to no end.
Behind the scenes leader. He loves to bring out the best in everyone and always makes sure they are all fine. He specially loves to hang out with Miyako’s kids, Daisuke’s son and Takeru’s son his sibling (they have to deal with the shenanigans of LS1 and LS2, god bless them).
Crest of Fate. Hikari always suspected that like her, he wouldn’t get a normal crest, still cautious as to what exactly this one means.
Hates being alone, isn’t used to it. Tailmon slept in his crib with him when he was a baby. He is always with his plotmon and has got in trouble several times for bringing her to school. He hasn’t told anyone but his Nyaromon digivolved because he ran to the street without looking and was almost hit by a car. Plotmon saved him.
Loves having sleepovers at his uncle’s house, despite their age difference he really loves to play with his cousin.
Tumblr media
Taichi’s son
Always said he’d rather be a cool uncle than being a father. But the more he thought about it the more he wanted it. He realized he was the only one without a kid, but his travels still made him hesitate.
Still goes over to Yamato and Sora’s house all the time. One time when Sora was pregnant Yamato arrived from work and found Sora sitting in the sofa and Taichi cutting fruit in the kitchen.
Yamato and Taichi sat down, Taichi handed Sora a bowl of fruit and whipped cream and started eating it with her.
“thanks”
“You didn’t bring me a fork?”
“oh, I am sorry, was the baby growing inside you pushing your organs too?” Taichi and Sora laugh.
“no. but then why are you eating?”
“I cut the fruit”
“well, I bought the fruit!”
“GUYS”
“Sorry… but seriously what’s the matter with you lately?”
“I don’t know what are you talking about… hey Sora how did I do it?”
“the fruit? Fine I guess… why?” both Sora and Yamato stared at Taichi waiting for him to spill.
“OHjustfine?ok,bythewayiamhavingababytoo”
One time he got emotional after seeing his little sister’s son taking care of his son.
ANYWAYS, THE KID
CREST OF FRIENDSHIP *not pictured: everyone laughing about it for years.
Baby but doesn’t like being treated as one. Super independent, dresses himself since he is two. Loves to challenge himself.
Instant best friends with everyone he meets. Loves to hangout with the Ishidas. They are his best friends, also his cousin, also is everyone else. Doesn’t mind being around adults as well, often called matured for his age. This amuses Hikari.
Apart from his parents, Hikari is his favorite person in the world. Right now, he wants to be a teacher like her. (Last week he wanted to be a Chef like Mimi)
He and the third Ichijouji kid will probably lead the next gen.
Daisuke’s son
Daisuke travelled a lot, meet a lot of people and ironically, he married one of his neighbors. He went one time to visit his parents and ran into the girl who lived upstairs, whom he knew since he was a kid, but holy shit. He visited his parents everyday for a month until she asked him out.
When she got pregnant, he asked Taichi for his goggles.
The kid:
Prankster. Did you expect anything else? (his chibimon has a really deep voice and he loves to use him to prank people)
Don’t leave him alone with the Ichijouji girl if you value your home or your life.
Crest of Courage. Loves a good adventure, well for him everything is an adventure: from running errands with his aunt to going with his father to one of his restaurants around the world.
He is a handful; however, he has a big heart and is such a happy kid.
Admires the older chosen a lot and it’s always asking them questions about their adventures. Dreams of being an explorer or changing the world. Yamato patiently answers all his questions about space since his own kids don’t seem to be interested.
Tumblr media
Mimi’s son:
She totally married koushiro, bear with me on this.
She has a multifaceted career, although not in what you would expect (she wasn’t interested in acting or singing professionally). She ran a lot of business, selling them when she lost interest. Is not afraid of taking risks. This meant she travelled a lot.
Eventually got tired (yes, I know. Mimi, tired? Yes) and came back to Japan. At first, she was promoting her new cooking book in a tv show but she got offered her own show and has been living her best life ever since.
The kid:
He is quiet, introvert but observant.
Ironically, he speaks 4 languages (Japanese, English, French, and Spanish), he is learning german now. He loves reading so that’s why he likes languages a lot.
He bonds with the other kids over the digimons and card games, ends up going to school with most of them and they eventually bring him out of his shell. He and Jyou’s son are kindred spirits.
Calm kid, but if you mess with him or one of his friends… you will see him angry. He is honest and loyal to his friends.
(you know how each baby Digimon has multiple evolution lines? I read in the Digimon wiki that one of Palmon’s ultimate forms is a cherrymon. Imagine Taichi saying something like: “Well kid, one advice: never tell someone to kill their friends” and the kid being like: “…ok?”, whereas Mimi and Yamato glare at him “I’ll fucking end you Taichi”)
Crest of knowledge/courage, of course.
Last but no least:
Koushiro’s Daughter.
By this point You know what’s up
Koushiro first thought when she was handed to him for the first time was: “wow, she looks like me.” What really got to him (even though it shouldn’t) was how he had someone related to him by blood.
He adores her and is really proud of every little thing she does. Remember the “do it for her” scene from the Simpsons? He totally has one like that in his office.
Tentomon didn’t tell anyone that he spent a whole day watching Youtube hair styling tutorials. No, none. He didn’t tell Palmon and Gomamon who told everyone else, no.
The kid:
Actual ray of sunshine. (i know i seem to say this about every kid, but listen they are my kids too)
She is the nicest kid you’ll ever meet. Koushiro says he’s never had to deal with a temper tantrum.
Crest of Kindness. Loves animals, got her dad to donate money to the oceans and animal shelters.
Sora gave her stickers with cute animals and smiley faces for her birthday and now if she sees someone sad, she gives them a sticker. “Dad, you look sad today. Here!” she puts a smiley face on his forehead, he smiles and hugs her. He didn’t take it off and “accidentally” went on a meeting like that. Miyako took pictures and sent them to the group chat.
Closest to Ken’s son and Mimi’s son her brother. Also loves to hangout with Taichi’s son, and Yamato’s kids.
Loves music, actual prodigy. Plays the piano and the violin (she plays violin most of the time). Wants to compose a song for each Digimon. Invites everyone to her concerts.
Ok, this was long. I didn’t talk about the baby, but i think he would be Hope (since he is the last one) (wrote this in an hour and english is not my first language, so yeah. Sorry)
I think these people love each other so much, they might’ve drifted apart in their youth, but with the years they all got close again. Since most of the kids don’t have siblings, they set up playdates, so they don’t feel lonely. They don’t regret the events that brought them together, they knew they had to let their kids experience it when the time came.

hi, new follower here!! i hope you'll get better soon :"D mind if i ask your headcanon about what the digidestined will do under the lockdown? thanks!
Hi there, thank you for following me!  I’m alright, I just have GAD and am struggling with it right now.  I imagine I’m in good company now, though, what with the pandemic...  Which is an appropriate segue into your ask!
I’m sure there are folks who don’t wanna hear about lockdown and pandemics, so I will throw this one beneath the cut :D  I will assume that the kids are their 2020 ages (ie, Koushiro was born in 1989 ish, so he’s about 31), and I will try not to be depressing.  I’ll also assume the digimon are currently in the Digital World, just for my sanity.  I’m also assuming the Chosen are okay economically, and that the lockdown is enforced (ie, none of them are allowed  to report to work or go out, with few exceptions).
Thanks for the ask <3
Taichi
Chilling out at home, reading manga, watching TV, and being lazy is fun... for a few days.  Very soon, Taichi is pacing his apartment, doing at-home workouts, and wishing his cooking was better.  He can only eat so many omelettes!!!
The social isolation hits hard at some point, even though he Facetimes people.  And even though he finds ways to move in his apartment, staring at the same four walls is rough for someone who prefers stimulation.  He temporarily moves back in with his parents or with a friend at the first opportunity!
Probably gets pretty buff during lockdown.  He loses his tan, and his hair grows back to its incredible childhood proportions, which makes his friends and family laugh!
Yamato
Does a lot of cooking/baking, and takes the opportunity to study and work out.  Being an astronaut requires top mental and physical condition!  He’s pretty used to being isolated to a degree, because...  Again, astronaut.
He’s worried about his loved ones, especially Takeru and his dad.  When he can, he temporarily moves in with one (or both?).  He says it’s “to take care of them,” since they’re so “hopeless,” but he’s full of shit.  He’s lonely and worried.
If he’s in space, then he’s even more frantic, due to the distance from his loved ones.  The astronauts frequently look at earth and wonder what the hell is happening down there.
If he’s with Sora at this point, then he fares better for her companionship and reassurances.
Sora
She checks in with her friends and family over Facetime.  They think she’s worried about them, and they’re not wrong...  But doing something for the people she loves helps Sora find purpose and connection in difficult times.  She experiences worry for the world and her friends, so she tries to keep busy.
Sora has a lot of hobbies, so she spends the time working on outfit designs and sewing.  She finally makes a dent in her fabric supplies!  Still, she’s an active person, and she starts to feel pent-up before long, even though she’s exercising.  When she’s not sewing or talking to friends, she cleans and escapes into online art galleries.
If she’s with Yamato at this point, she probably fares better.  If not, I imagine she might temporarily stay with a friend when she can.
Koushiro
What lockdown?
Just kidding!  Still, Koushiro feels a little guilty because...  He’s enjoying working from home instead of reporting to the office, and his work productivity has skyrocketed.  He’s not particularly lonely, since he can use Facetime, and he doesn’t feel pent-up at home.
But he soon finds that he relies on the routine of reporting to work and moving through the day more than he realized.  During lock down, it’s easy for him to forget to eat, bathe, sleep, and take breaks without his routine!  He also lost a lot of his food options, and he can’t cook...
Luckily, Taichi often calls in the evenings to play online games.
He temporarily moves in with his parents ASAP.
Mimi
THIS IS THE WORRRRSSSSTTTTTT!  Mimi can’t deal with lockdown.  Hopefully, she was able to move in with friends or a romantic interest for a bit beforehand.  If not, I think she might actually pop.  And even with friends, she’ll crave stimulation.
She tries to spend the time thinking of new recipes, but her ingredients are limited...  Which means that she digs deep into the supplies that have sat, unused, for a while...
She probably has a lot of board game nights and virtual dinner parties with her friends.
Jyou
If he’s a human doctor at this point, then he’s an essential employee.  He’s working himself to the bone to help people.  He won’t allow anyone to live with him for now, because of the risk of exposing them.  He’s on top of covid-19 research and news, and how little is known about the virus and the changing information terrifies him.
His friends start ordering food to be delivered to him, fearing that he isn’t taking care of himself.  He mostly sleeps when he’s at home, since he spends so long working so hard.  I hope other people will support him, because Jyou will set himself on fire to help others.
Takeru
Uses humor to cope, but on the inside, he’s afraid.  Calls his family and friends a lot, and tries to be nonchalant...  But they know he’s scared and wanting to check in.
Takeru reads and writes constantly during lockdown, and watches shows and movies that he’s always meant to watch.  He usually takes walks for inspiration, and the lack of visual stimulation/change of scenery is rough on him.  He’s also pretty social, so lockdown is rough on him.  He probably takes up a random hobby to cope, something really weird, like ventriloquism.  Is he doing this to mess with people, or because he’s losing it?  Who knows!
Blogs about everything.  Everything.  Prank calls his friends, and pretends that they’re buying it when they clearly are not.
Probably comes crying to live with Onii-chan for a bit ASAP.
Hikari
Hikari keeps herself occupied well, but she’s worried about her friends and family, and she gets lonely.  She calls everyone often, especially Miyako when she’s feeling really down.
Hikari holds online learning sessions for her kiddos, both group and individual.  It’s a ton of work, but she’s glad to see her students and have even this much normalcy.  She probably couldn’t cope without it.
She does a photography light study during lockdown, and probably adopts a cat, if she doesn’t have one already.
Daisuke
Spontaneously combusts by day four.  I’m kidding!  Mostly!
I’m not sure if restaurants operate during a lockdown, but ramen isn’t a good delivery option, I’d imagine?  Well, if he can work, at least he can get out and do that.  If not, he spends most of lockdown experimenting with food and drinks, and researching for his business.  He joins Taichi for work outs- they follow the same videos together.  Constantly calling his friends, especially Ken and Miyako.  Probably drinks more than he should.  Watches lots of movies and TV, plays video games.
So like...  You know, he keeps busy as best he can, but Daisuke is an active, social man.  It’s rough on him!
Miyako
I imagine she has kids by now...  She probably throws herself into keeping them busy and entertained.  The good news is that she has Ken and at least one kid at this point, so she’s not alone.
Being pent-up is hard for her, so she tries to put together novel experiences for herself and her family: crafts, games, cooking challenges, forts, and competitive cleaning.  Even though they’re inside all day, everyone is pooped by the end of the day!
She winds down in the evening by talking to Hikari or Ken with a drink.
Iori
He’s grateful to live with his mother and grandfather at this time.  I don’t know if he’d still be able to do lawyer work- maybe he can study cases that are on hold?  Would he be a lawyer at this point?
Iori has a steady, grounded personality, so I think he’d fare alright.  He would practice kendo, maybe participate in online training, and spend time with his aging grandfather.  Maybe he’d take the opportunity to record his grandfather on camera, asking him questions about his life.
Iori would probably check in on people intermittently, but I think his primary focus will be on his family at this time.
Ken
Hmm, this is hard...  I imagine police are essential, but is Ken more of a... detective?  I’m not sure if he’d be working or not?
If he is, well, he’d be busy with that.  If not, I’m sure there’s a lot to do at home, with young children.  The good news is that he isn’t lonely, unless he has to live elsewhere in the event that he’s working and doesn’t want to potentially expose his young family.
Basically, this one depends on circumstances.  I could see Ken doing alright, or doing really... not alright if he’s separated from his family.

Digimon Epilogue Challenge: Feelings & Opinions
Tumblr media
So. I have a lot of feelings about the epilogue. And the like, one gripe I have with it has nothing to do with it and everything with me being sort of a big dumb baby. Ignoring that, I love it.
I’ve heard all the criticism of it, legitimate or not, but like. Fine. I hear you. I still like it. Let me like it. That’s all I ask. Let me enjoy the idea that after all these kids have been through, after all their battles and hardships, good things happened to them. That they overcame all those things and grew up and became happy. That they’re still great friends after all this time. And everyone having a Digimon partner is cool, fight me (no don’t fight me I didn’t mean it like that).
And I need to be real honest, I’m a sucker for a good Babies Ever After. A GOOD one, I’ve seen enough bad ones to last a lifetime. 02′s epilogue? Is a good Babies Ever After. Those are good kids.
I didn’t always love every aspect of the epilogue. I was always super A-OK with the canon pairings (my favorite didn’t become canon and I’m more than fine with that since they’re still friends!!!), the designs are mostly great (though Takeru needs a dang haircut and Ken needs to stop wearing gakuran at 36), clone kids don’t bother me (I know a lot of people who are the spitting image of one of their parents IRL please leave those fictional kids alone). I’ve always really loved the vast majority of the jobs! Some of them were hard for me to understand at first, but I accepted them. Then I grew up, learned some things, watched technology evolve in a dizzying pace, did away with the internalized sexism I grew up with. Now I’m really pro everyone doing their canon jobs and living their absolute best lives.
Yamato’s job is the only one that really comes out of nowhere, but I legit do not care. It’s AWESOME. He’s honestly a really good fit for it, being both academically and physically fit for that kind of demanding job. Imagine Yamato pulling a Chris Hadfield and playing music to Gabumon on Mars. Isn’t it cool??? It’s cool. I’m glad he’s an astronaut.
I struggled the most with Miyako’s choice, for the longest time. But then I learned her Japanese VA reasoned that Miyako is on maternity leave all the way back in 2001, and then working from home in all sorts of fields (especially tech-based ones) became a thing, and then I smacked internalized sexism in the face some more. Now I just respect Miyako so much for choosing her own path in life and deciding being a mother that way was important to her. She can be a mother and wife first and do some work stuff from home at the same time, and that’s her choice. It’s absolutely the Miyako thing to do.
Also. Oikawa Yukio is butterflies. He’s still in the Digital World, protecting it and watching over everything in it. That is a good thought. It makes me cry BECAUSE it’s a good thought.
The more time passes, the more I love the epilogue. It just makes me so unabashedly happy. That’s how I feel about it.

digimon 30 days challenge day 21: a moment that made you angry
when i found out that neither taiora nor takari was canon.
lol, a pathetic shipper, yes i am.
funny story. the first time i watched digimon 02′s ending, i misheard the episode as (roughly translated from indonesian), “taichi becomes an architecht that build a bridge from the real world towards digital world.” i was confused. how the hell taichi became an architect? he can’t even draw! (remember the map from earlier episodes?)
also, how the hell yamato became an astronaut? i guess the creators just wanted to point out to the viewers (who were mostly children) that you can dream as high as you want. even a boy who was once on a band could go up to the space.
notable mentions: the only time hikari got to meet ophanimon was in falldown mode (tri). i like ophanimon better than holydramon, so how dare you toei to make her suffer.

Digimon Related Stuff
I’ve wanted for a long while to write a few opinions I had about Digimon Adventure and Zero Two, specially about the ending. I’d love to read other people opinions as this one is just mine and we all can have different ones. ( I’m not talking about Tamers, but Tamers were even better in some mature and emotional stuff.) I know that it’s a bit useless as I can´’t change anything but I just wanted to write them, and now that Last Evolution Kizuna and the new series are announced I thing it’s a good time. I’m a bit worried about the new series as it seems to be a new story with same characters or something like this and I didn’t like when it happened to other series like Inazuma Eleven, in which it seemed that the characters were for fanservice and the nice development and story they had in the original was lost. Anyways Digimon is part of my heart since day 1 and I’ll see it and I hope I’ll be delight with the new stories.  In my opinion Digimon Adventure was wonderfull, being a child show in that time it talks about some important stuffs, and it has a depth that even if it could be more explored it’s fine as it’s aimed for children and me, as a child, found it great like it was. Like Doremi, I’m amazed about how in both series it’s shown different kind of families and relationships, someones being helthy and others not so much. And also the reactions to death, a dead brother, dead friends... dead Leomon once again and to the weight of responsability that makes Taichi lost confidence or Sora almost in the end of Adventure had a big depression. And in Zero Two BlackWarGreymon looking for who he is, that’s really interesting, BlackWarGreymon was one of best characters to me. Going back to families, in Digimon we have divorced parents, adoptive parents, strict parents, absent father, sick sister and more, and it’s said about how it makes their children act. And what’s best in my opinion is that these parents (most of them) get involved in the story and help their children fighting the bad digimons, each one as they can. Yamato’s father, Sora’s mother and Koushirou’s parents are the most involved. While the others give their support as much as they can. But in Digimon they don’t need to “kill the parents” to give freedom of moving to the children, parents help as much as they can, sometimes just being sure they eat enough. And improving their relationships with their children. About Zero Two, while a lot of people didn’t like it and myself find Adventure better, is also a good series. They had other issues, I think it’s more focused in siblings that in parents but also in the “who I am” as I said with BlackWarGreymon. Who I am is a topic that appears all the time and that every main character has to overcome, altough Ken and BlackWarGreymon take more time and importance. Also Daisuke is a sunshine boy, he was ready to die for his friends in the beguinning. And then it come the epilogue, and well, I didn’t like it, as many people. I’m not salty about it, the characters aren’t us, but some of the things that happened were like... “why”. And this could haven been answered along the series to not be so shocked. I’m going to talk about the chosed jobs for each child. When I saw the first time the epilogue I only understand the reason for 4, the others were truly unexpected. Taichi [8/10], as a child I dislike a lot his job but now I can understand why it’s important for him. He is the ambassador of Digital Work. I think Sora would fit this job too, but Taichi is the Leader so it’s okay. I only would like more if they focused it in Taichi and Agumon being the spokespeople of Digimon wih Children and other Digimon being the spokesmon of the Digimon without Children. And do you know how could have been? Leomon. So ending picture of Taichi and Agumon shaking hands with Leomon about agreeing some important stuff. To me it’d have been perfect.  Yamato [0/10], this one was the most unexpected in a bad way. I didn’t understand why or how Yamato ended as astronaut. Like... cheff? ok, musician? great, Taichi’s right hand in gobernment? amazing. Astronaut?... hell no. But I supposed they had their reasson altough I can’t understand it yet. I would have like if Yamato would have being side by side with Taichi, being the second man with Gabumon being the second Digimon. Or being the headmasters of an organitation to help Digimon that enter Human World by mistake to go back to Digiworld. Also continuing with the Music Career would have been amazing. A group with Humans and Digimon maybe?  Sora [4/10] I didn’t like Sora’s work at all either. In Tri they try to give a reason behind it but... Not enough. Trough the series Sora is portrayed as a strong and indepent woman but most important also Leader and Sportive. I’d have like if she would continue with something sportive. Yes, it can be a Hobby, but even if it’d have been good developed I’d have like more if she continued with her mother’s Ikebana’s tradition.  Koushirou [10/10] What else could have he been? Just perfect to him. I’d also have like to see Wallace and Miyako working with him, but Koushirou’s focusing, just perfect. Mimi [2/10] How a girl who adds sugar and cream to a fried egg endep as Cheff? Mimi culinary’s art are shown in the series (even in Tri) as horribles. But as a little kids Teacher... I think this job suits her more than to Hikari. Mimi is caring, with a gold heart as it’s seeing her growing from being selfish to being really sweet. I’d have like that Mimi would become a Teacher and Teaches the importance about living with Digimons. Jyou [10/10] Same that with Koushirou, this rol just fits him so much I couldn’t see him being something different. He started not wanting to become a doctor, but trough the series and seeing how his friends become injured and even dying, he changes he mind. It’s good developed in the series and I liked it a lot. Takeru [7/10] I didn’t like but also didn’t dislike, I’m neutral about this. I didn’t know what I could like for him better as it’s not showed anything. Maybe something that can help agains evils? But writing stories can be a good way to do too. Hikari [7/10] She said she wanted to become a teacher and she did. But with her character I would see her more being a Reporter. She likes the truth, enlight the things and it would have been a good way to do. But I’m fine with her being a Teacher just because in canon it’s said it was her dream. Daisuke [?/10] I just don’t know how to feel. Same that with Hikari, he sais it was his dream but... I found it so strange that Daisuke wanted to have a Noodles’ Restaurant. I think they should have explained why in canon. Just that. Miyako [2/10] I understand being at home as a house keeper is important but she had so much potential with informatics, she could work as a programmer from home or something like that. I also didn’t understand why she married Ken... like she couldn’t understand him at all, I always found Miyako crush on Ken strange and not really healthy, but well... I hope in Kizuna this would be good developed.
Iori [10/10] He was another one I really liked, I loved how he went from being so hard with “good or evil” to understand that maybe villains aren’t so bad and that they can be helped with compassion. It’s the one I like the most, because Jyou or Koushirou were easy choices, but with Iori, I was surprised to good. Ken [10/10] I also like this one a lot, he did bad in the past, he knew he did bad and then he tried to do good because it’s his life and his way to make the world a better place. Being a Police to help others with everything. I liked, I liked a lot it. And these are my opinions, I don’t know if someone would read them but I just wanted to share them! And as I said, I’d love to read other people’s ones, specially abot what everyon would have like them to work as adults? Just tell me!

so excited for kizuna I tried to get tickets today for umeda on friday but they only had the movie schedule up till thurs. will try again in the morning
i havent been much in the fandom lately, been really busy rl and all, i miss when it was tri and i spent my free time translating stuff and trashing meiko and then deciding i liked her after all... liked her to the point that im disappointed kizuna’s not really connected with tri.
anyway now im gonna blargh all over my tumblr about kizuna. i’m so stoked for one more movie and the animation in the trailers looks so good!! and the 02 kids will be in it which is amazinggg. I just read everyone’s bios on the website and when I got to the 02 kids I was like “they’re here!!!!!” I’m an adventure junkie, I don’t have the same 02 nostalgia as some but I did like it, a lot, it had some great stuff in it. their absence was strongly felt in Tri.
and according to the bios miyako is studying programming at a university! they didn’t just have her get married to ken early (I mean the idea of 20 as an early age to be married is very modern itself) and show no interest in her old passions like how it seemed at the end of 02. homemaker is an important and valuable pursuit that deserves more respect than it gets - it was just how she was the only girl who cared about sciencey things and she was also the most passionate about her hobbies of the girls in 02 that made it seem like she’d just been crammed into a typical female role. make yamato an astronaut because boys like that, make miyako be a mom because girls like that. like, you can be a programmer and a mom. but this was 2002, which was still basically the 90s. AOL dial-up was still a thing. so we must forgive and forget. in kizuna she’s not only studying programming, she’s even studying abroad in Spain. she’s a total modern girl. I loved miyako best of the 02 gang so she was the one I felt most concerned about making a good showing in kizuna. if she marries ken and quits her job for a while to raise the kids? that’s fine, because it’ll be her choice, made after having some life experience. but let her have some life experience first! some people really want to be wives and mothers when they’re quite young and that’s fine for them, I just don’t see miyako being that way.
but of course I stan Taichi most of all and I can’t waaaait to see him again. and all the adventure kids. and i’m also really super interested in koushirou and takeru after reading their bios. my hope for the kids’ adult lives was always that koushirou and taichi would team up to maintain things between the human world and the digital world, koushirou doing the research and tests and putting things together while taichi does field work and public relations. idk if that’ll happen in quite the way I image it but they both seem to be doing things like that on their own. and takeru is studying literature and languages ^^ and he’s in a children’s lit club. I LOOOOOVE that. I can imagine Takeru wanting to write about their adventure, think about how he himself was the youngest and his memories of it will be those of a child, and then realize that that child’s perspective is actually a really strong vantage point. and decide to put it out as a children’s story, something to become a bridge between people’s hearts and digimon’s. i hope we see that in kizuna!

Executive ImpactStartup in the sky: SME makes space for satellites
TOKYO
Naomi Kurahara can’t quite remember how her love of science, engineering, and space came about.
It may have originated from a book or article she read as a child. Or was it the shows and movies she watched at the time—"Star Trek," "Star Wars" and the Japanese sci-fi animation "Space Battleship Yamato?"
One moment she remembers clearly is the first visit to the International Space Station by a female Japanese astronaut, Naoko Yamazaki. That moment in 2010 left a lasting impression on Kurahara.
“I had an interest in science, but, more than that, I had a dream to work in space. I really wanted to be an astronaut. That’s why I became interested in science, and in particular astronomy,” she told The ACCJ Journal.
Kurahara’s dream to work in space remains just that: a dream. And yet, as cofounder and chief executive officer of Infostellar, a space communications startup, she has taken a massive leap toward that goal. And, in doing so, she has helped open up space as the latest frontier for startups and innovators.
At the same time, she is inspiring a new generation of entrepreneurs in Japan and abroad—especially women from science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields—to reach the stars.
SPACE SPIN-OFF
Born in Oita Prefecture, Kurahara studied electrical engineering at the Kyushu Institute of Technology in Fukuoka Prefecture.
While her PhD was in engineering, her research theme had a focus on space environments and spacecraft.
“I really wanted to study something space-related. So, I joined a laboratory that was researching spacecraft systems.”
It came as no surprise, therefore, that after completing her doctoral research she joined the University of Tokyo, where she worked on ground systems development for satellite operations.
Some three years later, she left academia for the private sector and joined Integral Systems Japan, Inc. (ISJ), which provides ground systems mainly for geostationary satellites. She worked there as a systems engineer.
But shortly after she found her footing in the corporate world and, in 2016, set off on her entrepreneurial journey and cofounded Infostellar.
DIGITAL CLOUDS
Infostellar’s main product is called StellarStation, a Cloud-based platform that allows sharing of antennas or ground stations.
The platform seeks to transform the space industry in two ways: to reduce the startup costs of developing ground stations; and to help satellite operators scale their businesses.
“The space and satellite business is not a mature industry; it’s a growing industry. These days, satellite operators are trying to create a main revenue stream, which means their budgets are limited.”
This presents a chicken-and-egg problem: satellite operators need to carry a lot of data to make revenue. However, to carry more data, they need more ground stations or antennas, which are expensive, Kurahara explained.
“That’s why I thought that a cost-effective ground segment service is needed. However, again, it’s difficult to have your own antenna network. Infostellar provides a Cloud-based platform to share ground stations or antennas among satellite operators.”
UBER FOR ANTENNAS
Infostellar’s target customers are Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite operators. LEO satellites travel at about seven kilometers per second, but they don’t always stay in the same location—say above Tokyo. This means they need a wide distribution of ground stations with which to communicate.
“If I want to ensure an extended communication period with the satellite, I need a distributed ground station network.”
But to put expensive ground stations in different countries is difficult for many reasons, such as prohibitive costs and reels of red tape.
To alleviate these challenges, Infostellar purchases the ground station services of third parties, allowing operators to leverage—via StellarStation—those moments in the day when their antennas would otherwise be idle and to share them with LEO satellite owners.
In doing so, ground station operators receive compensation, thereby opening up new revenue streams. This is a form of sharing economy—but for the space industry.
“The problem for the current space industry is a lack of a ground segment or infrastructure—which means ground stations. If you want to do a satellite business, you have to create your own ground stations, which is not cheap,” Kurahara explained.
What’s more, if you want to scale your satellite business, you will need many ground stations all over the world, because of the satellites’ orbit around Earth. Infostellar aims to tackle both challenges, and then some.
In addition to StellarStation, the company has an e-commerce platform called Makesat that sells satellite components—including solar cells, transmitters, and kits—for building satellites.
GROUNDED IN THE SKY
Infostellar has been a going concern for some two years, but one wonders how an academic-cum-employee suddenly launches her own space industry startup.
It began in college.
“I had started a research project while still at university with a goal of creating a commercial satellite,” Kurahara recalls.
“But there was a problem: universities often cannot create a commercial project, because their main objective is education and research, and that is not completely the same as the aims of business.”
During her time doing pure research, it became apparent that—if she wanted to create a commercial product with real-world applications—she ought to move to the private sector.
When she joined ISJ, Kurahara worked on a ground station network project. This harked back to a similar project led by the European Space Agency (ESA), on which she had worked as a student.
When the ESA project ended, Kurahara discovered that, while there were other ground station network projects, none of them had a commercial focus, nor were they widely used.
This led her to wonder why, as it was clear to her that ground station networks were a necessary launchpad for commercial opportunities in space.
But she also understood that—in large companies such as ISJ—there is often a main line of revenue, and that makes it difficult to start new projects that don’t feed the revenue stream directly.
“So, I struggled to push the new project internally,” she confessed. Infostellar was her way of igniting a commercially focused ground station network project.
A NEW FRONTIER
That being said, one wonders whether it was an easy transition: to pivot from the mindset of an academic to that of an employee and then an entrepreneur. Did her scientific background help? It did.
“In engineering, my professors always taught me that the problem statement is really important. If that is not clear, then you can’t know what you’re doing.” The same principle, she believes, applies in business.
So, has the life of a founder been a walk in the park? No. Especially not in the very early stages, when she had to reprogram her mind from that of a self-starting researcher to that of an executive who had to delegate.
Another challenge in the early days was to convince investors that her ideas were not entirely pie in the sky. Indeed, when she and her cofounders first approached investors, they didn’t have a product or service. All they had was a pitch and a slide deck.
And then they had to explain space—an industry in which startups became engaged only recently, around 2010, and whose market size was then unclear. According to a 2017 industry report by SpaceWorks Enterprises Inc., commercial nano- and microsatellites were to account for more than 70 percent of such launches in the next two years.
So how did Kurahara and her co-founders convince investors? There were two ways: a solid business plan and the team, led by Kurahara herself.

I finally finished watching Digmon Tri. and it’s left me with...a lot of mixed feelings, haha. some thoughts under the cut, no particular order
andddd we finally revisit the mystery of the 02 kids. it’s a shitty explanation, but it’s also kind of what I expected so I guess i’ll let it go
is that the real Gennai in the fifth pod?
speaking of Gennai, not-Gennai-not-Ken mystery man really went overboard on the dramatics this time and I spent the whole movie wanting someone to punch him in the face. godddd, shut up!
I didn't think they‘d have the guts to kill Nishijima, so props to that
Himekawa’s drowning the Dark Ocean? I still want to know more about the Dark Ocean...
Yamato’s balcony scene with Gabumon was A+
fight scene was pretty good and dynamic! I enjoyed seeing them all fight as a team with actual strategy, with Birdramon carrying Togemon and WereGaruruumon around
wow they brought out the tanks. and ships. and helicopters. the army has finally been mobilized...not that it meant anything lmfao
Takeru and Hikari didn’t kiss and I can’t believe people are still debating about that, Patamon obviously misread the situation
I warmed up to Meicoomon a bit here. the “dan dan” scene was good.
anddddd everyone gets their memories back, saw that coming. it all being stored inside Meicoomon was, all things considered, a pretty good explanation that doubled for justifying why she was so OP
TAICHI’S AGUMON WAS HIKARIGAOKA’S BIGAGUMON AAAH
that camera pan between Yamato and Taichi......
“I’ll never forgive you, Taichi. So I’ll fight with you.” ?????? I have mixed feelings about Hikari’s development and i’m not. really clear on how she managed to get Tailmon to Ultimate but, okay
Holydramon didn’t get the screentime she deserves, even that one attack she used was lackluster
Omegamon Merciful Mode is flawless. beautiful. I wanted more of a fight scene than him just slicing through Ordinemon with one go tho
JUST LET TAICHI AND YAMATO HOLD HANDS, YOU COWARDS
goodbye Meicoomon, at least you’re free from your suffering now :(
but why didn’t they try to take her back to the Digital World to kill her? Meicoomon could’ve been reborn, possibly without Apocalymon’s data (the mystery man took it out?) if she was killed in the Digital World instead
like I understand if that’s not feasible but nobody even brought it up
honestly considering all the damage and the military and all that i’m surprised it’s as uncomplicated as “opinions on Digimon are still negative,” i’d expect more of an uproar
I want to punch Mystery Man in the face again but - wait Diaboromon? Daemon? this is sequel baiting
“maybe then i’ll aim for space” YAMATO BECAME AN ASTRONAUT TO ONE UP TAICHI IMMMMM
the last phone call was kinda a nice note to leave things off at, I guess. no matter what happens, the chosen children will always be friends
but you can convince me Meichi happened over my dead body
KITTO TOBERU SA, ONNNNN MY LOVEEEEEE!!!!!! everyone singing Butterfly together...
thank you tri., it was flawed and sometimes I want to complain about it more often than not, but it did something nothing else could have: it brought the fandom together and generated more collective excitement than there’s been in this fandom since more than a decade ago. it allowed me to revisit my childhood.
if there is a sequel, I look forward to it ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡

SoratoSeason - 2017!!
It's Christmas, it's SoratoSeason!
Yes, it's this time of the year again! And even if it looks like we've been quiet for a while, in truth we have been working non-stop since April to produce the BIGGEST SoratoSeason EVER. After re-watching Digimon Adventure, Digimon Adventure 02 and the OVAs (in the original language), we have come up with "Lost Sorato Scenes" that we are sure happened sometime, even if we never saw it. So now we are going to make them happen!
Rules:
Send a message asking for the scene/s that you would like to use to make art with.
Post them anytime between December 24th and February 14th.
Any form of art is accepted.
Any language is accepted. We have the list of scenes in Spanish, so if you need them send a message.
Tag SoratoSeason.
Have fun!
Lost Sorato Scenes (under the cut)
OVA 1
· What if Sora and Yamato lived in the same building? Could they run into each other?
· Little Sora and Yamato try to explain to their parents what they saw, but their parents convince them that it didn't happen.
· Yamato with his binoculars frequently sees Sora as they grow up.
Digimon Adventure
Episode 1
· Sora takes an interest in Takeru at camp, before they are transported to the Digital World.
Episode 3
· After Seadramon attacks Yamato, Sora asks if she can help him with her first aid kit.
Episode 4
· There's a moment in episode 4 when Meramon shouts in English, "Burning! I'm burning up!" In Spanish, this was translated as "¡Cuanto fervor siento!" [How much fervor I feel!] It would be funny if Yamato or Sora said this as a joke during sexy times in the future. XD
Episode 5
· Because Sora and Yamato split up in different groups to search the factory, they tell each other afterwards what they saw.
Episode 6
· In this episode, the children miss their hobbies from the real world, and Sora misses being able to do laundry. For a lost scene, after the children return to the real world, Yamato could ask Sora (in his awkward way), if she is now able to wash her clothes.
Episode 7
· In this episode, Jou wanders off from the group at night, and Sora and Taichi go to rescue him. For a lost scene, we could see Yamato debating if he should join Sora and let Taichi take care of Takeru, but Sora convinces him to stay behind to take care of the younger children, since he could do a better job of that than Taichi.
· Back in the real world, Sora and Yamato try each other's preferred recipe for eggs. (Yamato likes his eggs with mayonnaise, and Sora likes her eggs with salsa.)
Episode 8
· While they eat dinner in the mansion, Sora asks Takeru if he'd like to eat his eggs with white rice (which he and Yamato said that they liked in episode 7). Yamato looks at them and smiles.
Episode 9
· This is the episode where Yamato runs into the blizzard looking for Takeru, and he and Taichi meet Yukidaramon. In the future, when Yamato takes Sora out for skiing on their dates, he decides to surprise her by taking her to Yukidaramon's home in the Digital World so they can ski there!
Episode 10
· In this episode, Sukamon and Chuumon harass Mimi by asking her on a date. For a lost scene, Mimi could tell Sora about this experience afterwards, and ask her if any digimon have asked her out. One thing leads to another, and Mimi asks Sora if she likes a certain boy.
Episode 11
· This is the episode where Sora and Jyou defeat the Bakemon with Jyou's sutras. For a lost scene, Sora could later ask Yamato if he knows any sutras. This could lead to Yamato telling Sora about his grandmother in the countryside.
Episode 13
· After Angemon's death, Sora comforts Takeru and Yamato observes them.
Episode 15
· In this episode, the children spend the night in a Koromon village (with Pagumon impersonators.) It could be a good setting for Sora and Yamato to tell each other about their separated families or sutras or other topics.
Episode 17
· In this episode, Piyomon and Gabumon ask each other if they are being raised correctly. "Papa Yamato" could talk to them both.
· In this episode, the boys are kidnapped, and Mimi and Sora rescue them. For a lost scene, we see Sora untie Takeru first and then Yamato.
Episode 18
· In this episode, Yamato and Koushirou leave Piccolomon's protection barrier in order to find their crests. Taichi also disappears for a while on Piccolomon's orders. At the end of the episode, when everybody has returned, Sora asks the three boys if they are all right. And she scolds Yamato and Koushirou for making them worry!
Episode 19
· Sora and Yamato have a nighttime conversation, before Sora replaces Taichi on guard duty, about what it means to be data. They both understand how the other feels. Before she goes to replace Taichi, Sora tells Yamato to rest and she thanks him. Yamato asks why, but she doesn't respond.
Episode 22
· This is the episode where Taichi is missing for a month and a half. There is a month and a half's worth of missing conversations between Sora and Yamato! :D
· After Taichi's disappearance, Sora is one of the most affected (because he rescued her and she feels guilty), and Yamato realizes this. In his dorky way, like he asked Gabumon to sleep next to Takeru, he could ask Takeru to sleep closer to Sora to comfort her!
· Yamato could also ask Gabumon to sleep next to Sora. :)
Episode 23
Context: This is the episode where Yamato and Jou work in the diner, and Sora secretly helps them.
· Sora observes Yamato at night while he plays the harmonica and she hears all of his conversation with PicoDevimon. She knows that it's not true that Jou was messing up on purpose, but she realizes that she needs to go check on little Takeru, so she leaves Yamato and Jou.
Episode 26
Context: This is the episode where Sora and Piyomon evolve to the Perfect level for the first time, and Sora tells the others about her mom.
· Yamato and Sora talk. Sora apologizes for abandoning the group. Yamato thanks her for continuing to take care of them throughout.
· Yamato asks Sora exactly what she saw when she was watching them at the restaurant, and Sora admits that she saw his conversation with Picodevimon, and that afterwards she went to help Takeru and Yamato.
· Yamato begins to wonder how much of his actions Sora could have been watching, and he asks her about it.
· Sora tells Yamato that she likes his new song on the harmonica. Yamato reacts like a dork.

· Sora and Yamato talk at the end.
Episode 39
· After the parents watch their children return to the Digital World, Natsuko, Hiroaki and Toshiko talk to each other.
Episode 42
· Sora and Yamato return one day to this island in the Digital World.
Episode 43
Context: This is the episode where Pinnochimon kidnaps Takeru, but Takeru escapes and brings Pinnochimon's dolls with him.
· Somehow, Sora ends up with the Yamato doll. Perhaps Takeru gave it to her, and then she gives it to Yamato.
· Yamato apologizes to Sora for shouting at her.
Episode 47
· Sora thanks her future husband for saving them from Pinnochimon.
Episode 51
Context: It's the Dark Cave episode!
· Everything that you want and more about the cave. For example, Sora asks Yamato about his cave experience.
Episode 52
Context: This is the episode where Sora sacrifices herself and the children defeat Piemon.
· After this episode, Gomamon will always treat Sora differently. He may continue to tease Jou, other digimon, and other Chosen Children, but he always treats Sora with respect. However, he is happy to tease Yamato! One day, feeling particularly fiery, Gomamon lets slip the fact that he rescued the Yamato doll and threw it to Sora, and that Sora gave it to Takeru and that Takeru saved everyone. This is pre-Sorato, and his comments make both Sora and Yamato blush immensely. Gomamon congratulates himself internally, because he found a way to tease Sora too.
Episode 53
· When the children return home, Toshiko tells Sora how proud she ALWAYS has been of her.
Episode 54

· Yamato plays the harmonica for Sora and Gabumon.

Digimon Adventure: 2020 – Episode 1: Tokyo: Digital Crisis! (Review)
Thoughts on the first episode of the Digimon Adventure reboot series.
Disclaimer: I just want to make it clear that I’m watching and reviewing Digimon Adventure: 2020 in the context of it being a children’s anime -- because that’s what it is. By design, it’s obviously going to be “dumb” to the mind of the average adult. But that’s OK, because it’s for kids. And for a first episode aimed at children? It was pretty good.
The opening credits were 99% Taichi and I don’t like it if it’s permanently going to be this way. But I’m hoping that it will change to perhaps be character-centric to the person being “highlighted” in a particular episode, going through all eight kids, until there’s a permanent one where all eight are equally in it. I also hope the same for the ending credits.
I noticed that Angemon and Angewomon were missing from the opening credits, whereas the other digimon evolutions are shown. So I assume they’re following in OG Adventure’s footsteps and doing the whole “special angel” evolution reveal? I’m OK with that. It seems really interesting how they’re setting up Takeru and Hikari to be included this time (as they were both missing in the ending credits with the other five standing opposite Yamato . . .).
Both the opening and ending songs are fine, but I prefer the original songs, especially Butter-Fly. You are missed, Kouji Wada. <3
The art and animation of this series is really good. Toei Animation are really putting money into this series. I’m impressed.
I have mixed feelings about how they chose to introduce the characters. On the one hand, I think utilising just two characters is great to really highlight them to the audience and not overwhelm them with too much information. But on the other hand . . . I think introducing all eight characters in the first episode would make it appeal to more kids, because they can easily identify with one kid and keep watching the series. But a kid might watch this first episode, not like Taichi or Koushirou, and just switch off from the series completely. But I think what they went for is probably best for how they plan to introduce the characters (particularly regarding what they have in store for Yamato being a lone wolf who joins them later).
Taichi was a bit too generic to me. But, it’s only the first episode, so this isn’t a real criticism -- I’m sure he’ll be fleshed out as the series progresses. He also seems more responsible than OG Taichi. And while I do like his new voice, I think Toshiko Fujita was a lot better; she managed to convey more personality in her voice.
Koushirou was actually quite “cute”. But I’m not sure I totally like that he’s being portrayed as shy . . . he never seemed shy to me in the original series, but just a kid who was super absorbed in his own tech world. But his shyness did make him more endearing? I’m just not used to it so I find it a bit unsettling. But it does “humanise” him more and thus makes him more relatable, rather than just a distant tech nerd, so I guess it’s a positive? I also really like his voice.
I am liking the Taichi/Koushirou friendship a lot. You can tell Koushirou is going to completely idolise Taichi for making him feel included and “useful”. And let’s be real: Koushirou has always been the most underrated character when it comes to popularity, relative to actual impact on the plot, because he’s actually the one who solves almost everything and he doesn’t get nearly as much credit for it as he deserves in the fandom. It’s nice that they’ve spotlighted him with Taichi in this episode.
So apparently Mimi’s family owns a conglomerate because they made both Koushirou’s tablet computer and Takeru’s hat? I always thought the weird “TK” scrawled on his hat was for his name (TaKeru or T.K.), but apparently it’s for TachiKawa! Wow, Mimi is insanely rich this time around (moreso than the first). Princess indeed!
Takeru’s design is so freaking adorable. I still think his clothes are a bit off, but his face is so adorable! And I didn’t really think that of OG Takeru. I mean . . . I guess he was kind of adorable, but not overwhelmingly so like this one! He hasn’t said one line but, OMG, the cuteness. *SQUISH*
Did anyone notice that in Takeru’s room, there is a poster of an ASTRONAUT? OMG I loved that! What a nice throwback to Yamato’s future career in OG Adventure (and thus to the 02 epilogue!). I can imagine reboot Yamato idolising astronauts and influencing Takeru into liking them, too. Awesome Easter egg there!
So the Crests are showing up right from the start. No rehash of finding the Tags and Crests, then! (Or will they find the physical forms later?) I really like how different from OG Adventure it already is, while keeping touches of the old as well. Toei have done a good job with mixing the old and new so far. Keep it up!
I thought Taichi’s meeting with Agumon was super cute and quite “realistic” with Taichi reaching his hand out to “pet” Agumon! Though Taichi is obviously more courageous than the average person, because uh, I would be afraid that dino would bite my hand off, lol.
I thought Agumon’s evolution “sequence” to Greymon was really cool, but at the same time, I did miss an actual evolution sequence like the OG one. It’s probably just nostalgia making me feel that way. I can accept this new version though! It feels very “updated”.
It was very fast-paced compared to OG Adventure. I’m not sure I entirely like that Agumon evolved so easily and so quickly to Greymon in the very first episode, but it also didn’t seem to hinder the episode. But where do they go from here? What do they have planned to pad out this series if things happen so quickly? I’m intrigued to find out!
Oh, remember how I said less than 24 hours ago that I might not even like reboot Yamato? Yeah, well . . . throw that idea out the window, because the dude had two seconds at the end of this episode and HE ALREADY WON ME OVER lmao. He had NO LINES and was still the highlight of the episode for me. My attachment to him is insane. (Of course, I’m hoping he doesn’t turn out to be a super douche, lol.) I like that he was “chosen” before Taichi and was in the Network before him. What have you been up to in there, Yamato?
While I LOVED the ending credits, as I said before, I hope it changes to be central for each specific character (going through all eight kids), before there is a permanent main ending that includes all the characters equally. I really don’t like how Toei Animation seems to forget that there are EIGHT CHARACTERS and not just two. Come on, Toei, do the right thing!
But . . . let’s talk about the ending credits. IT WAS AMAZING. It characterised Yamato so much without him saying a word. I love that he’s still a lone wolf, that music is still a big part of his life (a bass at 11!), and that his love for Takeru is still so genuine. There was also a pivotal scene where it shows Jou, Mimi, Taichi, Sora and Koushirou standing together, and Taichi smiles at Yamato, who hesitantly steps forward to join them. I loved that! It made me think about the discarded plot where “Yamato might’ve separated from the group entirely” -- it seems like this is a reverse version and I can’t wait to see it play out. The scene that inspired that discarded plot idea was when Yamato decides to fight Taichi, and Sora yells at him to stop -- and I just loved her reactions to him throughout that arc. Especially because, if Taichi had turned on the group, I think Sora’s first instinct would be to conk him over the head -- but she gives Yamato a massive pass and then supports him to separate from the group to find himself. My Sorato thoughts are already swirling about how Sora will react to Yamato in this reboot! Will she hate him at first? Will she ask him to join? Oh my, they haven’t even interacted in this reboot and I’m already shipping them, lmao. I hope Sorato still have a connection in this reboot!
Overall, I liked it for a children’s anime. And I never would have watched it if it wasn’t a reboot with the original Adventure cast, as I have only seen a few episodes of Tamers, Frontier and Savers . . . and a few seconds where Yamato shows up in Xros Wars, lol. I’m not interested in Digimon, I’m interested in the Adventure cast. So I’m really glad this reboot exists! I’ll happily watch all episodes of this series because it’s more of my kids goddamnit. XD
Oh, and I just want to apologise that even though the episode was focussed on Taichi and Koushirou, I used screenshots of Yamato and Sora for the episode post . . . I’m sorry, I’m a Sorato blog! XD;
I think I will do a weekly Digimon Adventure: 2020 “review”, because the episodes are only 20-ish minutes long and it’s easy enough to consume and write about. And even if I might not have a lot to say about a particular episode, I can still spam Sorato screenshots, lol. :P
I can’t wait for the next episode! Because: YAMATO. <3
