for this occasion, i have finally (after SIX YEARS) finished my dirkkat fanfic Prince of Grief.

this is the story of a warweary karkat who is being forced to marry prince dirk who believes he'll never get over his dead husband. neither of them are happy about it, though dirk is lonely enough that he thinks maybe a pitch relationship wouldn't feel so much like betraying jake and karkat can't help but get swept up in it

but things are not as peaceful as their two nations would hope, and as things go on it's harder and harder for karkat to convince dirk that he's on his side

through it all, there's a backdrop of complicated troll relationships, including several instances of outrageous pale/ashen porn on top of the concupiscent stuff

look, i'll be honest, my writing has improved drastically since 2018 when i started this fic. when i was rereading it to finish it, it was difficult not to give into the urge to do a full rewrite. but this fic has received so much love over the years and my priority was giving it a satisfying resolution
