Speaking of twst events, what are your Top 3 Favourite game events so far? I'm genuinely curious. :'DD

Mmmm… I think most events are at least okayish? In general, I tend to prefer stories with high stakes or the ones that have some meaningful impact on character development, which are few and far between when it comes to TWST 😅 so their events aren’t typically my thing! You’ll notice that my favorite events in TWST actually do have story and/or character relevance.

That being said!! My favorite events would have to be:

Glorious Masquerade — This is, in my opinion, TWST’s strongest story and best overall event. It stands out against the others by having actual stakes and fully committing to it, as well as does wonders for the SSR trio’s involvement and interests in taking down the Big Bad. This is particularly true of Idia and Malleus. Said Big Bad, Rollo, is also very compelling in his own right.

Wish Upon a Star — Historically, this was the first time we saw the student’s rooms! The story itself introduced us to Star Rogue, which was pivotal to the Shrouds’ childhood (and later becomes relevant again in book 6). It was sweet to see Deuce try so hard to get Idia to come out of his shell, and even sweeter to see how far Idia is willing to push himself for his brother.

Fairy Gala: What If (NOT the first Fairy Gala; this is an important distinction!) — The edge this has over the original is that it is connected to Ortho’s growth as an individual post-book 6. He is able to discover his own take on what “evolution” is. Silver also gets a cool spotlight which demonstrates the pacifist teachings he was imparted with, serving as the bridge between fae and humans. Very pretty clothes and makeup too!!

I also liked:

Happy Beans Day I and II — This was a nice event that gave the whole cast their time to shine without feeling too bloated. It was also fun to see the different strategies and tactics each student employed; it helps show off their characters and problem solving abilities!

Ghost Marriage — I really liked that TWST parodied the fairy tale love stories and romantic events (that Disney and even mobile games in general are typically associated with). Hilarious how each of the guys tried and failed because they’re just silly high school students with no idea how to actually get a date 😂 I’m also biased for any outfit that involves formal wear.

White Rabbit Festival (Queendom of Roses hometown event) — The Alice in Wonderland aesthetic of Clock Town captured my heart 😌 It was also nice to see Deuce prove that he has turned over a new leaf to the townspeople.

The events I didn’t care for are:

Endless Halloween Night — I have very strong beef with the ending and the reasoning given for it 💀 It feels like everyone got gaslit into forgiveness… I also hated how no one held Malleus fully accountable after all the stress they were put through. Easily my most disliked event.

Tamashina Mina (Sunset Savanna hometown event) — Underwhelming ending in spite of the hype building for it. No meaningful payoff for the foreshadowing of Cheka’s guards.

Tsumsted Wonderland I and II — Nothing really happens (other than I guess the Tsums being cute)?? And it doesn’t really make an impact on anything.

Lost in the Book with Stitch — Same issue(s) as the Tsumsted events, except somehow even worse because everyone magically forgets everything they did with Stitch :/ so the experience means nothing in the long term…

Honorable mentions for my dislikes:

All Master Chef/Culinary Crucibles — I hate having to sit around and wait for ingredients and the fact that you can’t cook multiple dishes in one go. The lack of story also makes these events just not worth it for me.

Sam’s New Year Sale(s) and TWST Anniversary — Do these event count as a story event???? They’re just kinda celebratory short interactions, if anything.

Hello! What is Tsum Tsum (international)? What do you like best about it? I'm rocking that insomnia+anxiety combo rn and might impulsively start a new game if it's not super brain-y? ☺

So Tsum Tsum is an app game that's been around for a while! It's essentially a connect-the-same-color puzzle game, except Disney themed (Disney, as in everything Disney, including classical, live action, probably Marvel in the future, probably Twisted Wonderland in the future, and most relevant to my blog, Star Wars!).

It's very simple, very grindy, but more interesting and cuter than a lot of similar games because the pieces are round and roll around (you can use gyro too). Depending on the tsum (that's what the little characters are called) you use, there can be some strategy involved!

That being said, this has always been my go-to procrastination game where I just want to space out for a few seconds and do something with my fingers that isn't work, but isn't serious like opening up my switch. It's great if you're brain dead and don't want to think. Plus, the characters are really cute! It's strangely addicting, but also very low investment, play it when you want ^ ^;

There are sometimes limited edition events which add a little spice, even though the missions are usually just what you usually do. The tsum tsums themselves are gacha boxes, and some are only available for a limited time, but they usually eventually come back.

This game is made by a Japanese company called Line, which is a chatting app (and a good one too!). In order to play the game, you'll need to make an account to connect with other players. It's really good for shy people though, because in-game, all the interaction there really is is you can see other people's top scores of the week, and you can send each other hearts once an hour max. Hearts are just the way you play a game, and the gauge will fill up by itself, but it's always nice when you have hearts in your inbox so you can play more when you want.

I specified (International) because the original game is only on the Japanese app store, but there's an International version in English which is the server I'm on! I unfortunately can't connect with players on the Japanese server. The Japanese server also always gets events/new tsum tsums way before the International one, which can suck, but also lets us know ahead of time what's coming!

The non-general Tsum Tsums like Star Wars are limited edition, so if you're interested in those I'd join soon!

But also don't stress out about it much, because it can take a while for beginners to collect coins, and these tsums will eventually return. There'll be a big Star Wars event with Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and a special Luke & R2 Tsum later this year 2022, so that'll be fun to look forward to!

So to summarize, I recommend this game to people who:

-Want a simple app game that is low investment

-Want something to do while procrastinating that accumulates coins when you play so u feel u accomplished something

-Like Disney franchise characters

-Please send me hearts I have like no active friends on here ahahaha

Entirely random little trivia: The game/character orbs name is derived from the original Japanese title, ツムツム (tsumu tsumu). Tsumu means "to stack"! So essentially, they're called stackables ^ ^

In the end, it’s saburo keeping ichiro and jiro in check

Ichiro is honestly just so excited, but he really is watching out for his brothers and finds saburo’s sense of responsibility pretty cute, even if Ichiro knows the schedule already (he’s been to Disneyland enough times)

He wears either cosplay or a fucking nerd shirt, or he gies wild with the cosplay, like an accurate one or like an outfit inspired thing

He’s in it for the thrills and races his brothers everywhere

SPACE MOUNTAIN, but he would ride almost everything

If he’s in Disney Sea, he rides the Journey to the Center of the Earth and Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull 526629 times

He also likes taking pictures of his brothers and is that annoying gen Z with all the aesthetic pictures

Encourages Jiro and Saburo to take family pics at nice places and with the mascots

Oh and all the fucking march, yes of course he allows his brothers to shop till they drop at the Disney stores… but only buying one or two items for himself because he’s a big bro that way

Jiro

food. All of the food

He literally is a hungry male teenager, who lives on testosterone and memes, so he’ll really go out and eat

Mickey Mouse waffle? Turkey leg? Churros? Every flavour of ice cream? Every flavour of popcorn? Even the soy sauce one? You bet it!

He also dresses up because he be a nerd like that

He only does it though if Ichiro does it

He also teases and steals saburo’s maps while running away from their older brother who wants to go somewhere else as well

He also steals a little bit from around the place, well nothing major, a scrap of cloth here, a rock there… well nothing that would go noticed really

Secretly addicted to the Tsum tsums and leaves with at least five new ones

all buster bros will fight at the buzz lightyear astro blasters

They will fight honestly

His favourite ride is the Splash Mountain, mostly he because he can laugh at Saburo not wanting to get wet

Saburo

Official time keeper

Like he knows all the times of the shows and of the parades and of the fireworks

He tries to keep a schedule, but ends up chasing Jiro and Ichiro everywhere

Buys the stuff toys

Already has a Duffy Bear, so he buys it clothes

He also brought it so he can take pictures with it and post them on instagram

He also loves pins because he likes putting them on his jacket or lanyard and actively barters for pins with the staff

The staff also give him stickers, not just because he’s a buster bro, but because he genuinely collects them

He would still ask for an autograph every time he would take a picture, and all his little autograph books have the dates on them so that he can remember when he went to Disneyland with his brothers

He also prints out the pictures they have in front of the castle, and has a compilation of them over the years

Favorite ride is probably the buzz lightyear ride with the guns

Samatoki

No just kidding, he tries to be edgy but he really isn’t? Like honestly???

He went here with Nemu once and she convinced him to wear a Mickey mouse headband, take a selfie with her in front of the castle, ride the fucking spinning teacups, IT’S A SMALL WORLD

He also was Nemu’s personal tripod, and he enjoyed it

He even gave suggestions on how to pose

He also loves the popcorn and would buy it at any given chance

When he went with Mad Trigger Crew (his excuse was to bring Riou), he was very excitable in a “cool way”

Like he would know the shortest routes and the best rides and strategies for lines

His favourite ride though is Tower of terror, because he’s secretly a sap for the stories

Nemu introduced him to the awesome hoodies, and he buys one every time he goes

He actually bought a Duffy Bear and Nemu bought him the Duffy scarf with the paws… he wears it

Jyuto

He’s gone on several dates to Disneyland and Disney Sea and he’s lowkey tired of it

But when Samatoki brings him to Disneyland, it’s an entirely new experience

The yakuza boss literally shows the two of them the best parts of Disneyland like he’s a fucking expert, and they don’t even have to pay extra to like skip the line because Samatoki fucking strategises

Jyuto actually enjoys Disneyland and has to play that cool guy that doesn’t actually enjoy

Though he’s actually a fucking sucker for all the shows really, and the rides… okay everything about Disney

Because he loves the childlike wonder that comes out of everyone when they’re at Disneyland because his childhood, and nearly everyone else’s in Hypmic wasn’t that awesome

He makes sure they don’t miss any of the shows, but Samatoki took care of that

Is the type to buy a watch or a necklace for himself

Riou

First time he went was with MTC on Samatoki’s insistence and he actually had fun

Of course, our favourite soldier is a bit NR, but you know, what do expect from such a harass

The thing is, he smiles a lot in Disneyland because it has that kind of magic

Samatoki actually convinces him to take a picture with mascots, in front of the castle, and at every possible place with the “picture spot” marked

Wicked at carnival games because he’s just strong and has good aim

Seriously, do you see him carrying around a bullseye stuffed toy and stuff

Has the highest score out of MTC in Buzz Lightyear, much to the cop’s and the yakuza’s dismay

Mostly NR during the thrill rides, but he grins at the expressions (especially Jyuto’s)

He also buys merch, but like the cooking merch, you know like the oven mitts… the pans… the moulds… the small little cute stuff

Seriously do you see him at his campfire cutting out Mickey shaped mountain lion patties?

Ramuda

Rides all the kiddie rides, like all of them, including the Dumbo one… and the carousel

And everything, he’s a literal child when it comes to it

Yes he brings his stuff toy around and takes pictures with it

Has those really really nice aesthetic pictures and like it would fit his Instagram theme

He also collects the stickers and really runs around like an energetic child, but he can very much take care of himself

He’d also drag Gentaro and Dice, and he’d really go full out kid

He’d take a picture with all the princesses and have a lot of shit on his clothes

He would be the type to have those headbands or those crowns or those character hats

Yes he would force Gentaro and Dice into it

Dice

Would eat all of the food, with Gentaro’s money because he’s broke

Yes Ramuda paid for their tickets because secretly Ramuda is fucking loaded

Is the dumbass that eats before a ride, but he also doesn’t throw up, much to no one’s surprise

He asks Gentaro the dumbest questions, like “how does the mascot breathe” not because he’s stupid, but because he’s partly in a food coma

He also gets super excited, like he doesn’t hide it because it’s like his first or second time inside and he gets to to both parks

He really goes all out when it comes to the rides and Gentaro really sees him light up so he indulges Dice with his food needs and clothes… especially the clothes

Favorite ride would be the tea cups because he can move really so fucking fast

Gentaro

Has to watch Dice because he knows Ramuda can take care of himself and basically enters a very peaceful headspace

But then he’s also the type to like disappear and hang around in the palace, take pictures, write poems, hang out with the princesses

He also hasn’t been to Disneyland before because like he didn’t really have the reason to, but he really enjoys

He loves the happiness he sees in children and adults and he thinks about it

He indulges dice in like buying stuff, but he buys himself like a snow globe or a statue

Oh or like a glass statue and he really likes the way it catches the light

And he wears his regular traditional clothes, so he too has really nice pictures in Disneyland with the flowers and shit, like the princess garden is his bitch

Jakurai

He’s very serene when he goes to Disneyland and would go with Matenrou

He isn’t the type to go alone because he believes it would be nice to spend time with friends or loved ones

One time he went with TDD and it was a fucking disaster, but a pretty fond memory all the same

If the entire hypmic is there, he will watch over

Which means being dragged to all the rides

Just imagine a tall ass doctor in the fucking magic carpet ride

It’s a fucking Small World (Thank u Hifumi)

He would genuinely enjoy the Winnie the Pooh ride (BECAUSE!! REASONS!!!)

Doppo

Mostly watching over Hifumi, and carrying all the stuff

But he has so much fun really

Except on the thrill rides

Well, he loves the train that goes around Disney and he takes pictures of the view

He also runs after Hifumi most of the time and genuinely panics because Hifumi is really like a fucking speed demon

Actually enjoys the shows because music is so awesome and he loves how like the sets work and all

Tries not to bump anyone and tries to give everyone personal space when they’re in line but you know

Hifumi

The biggest fucking puppy ever

Has the biggest budget for merch like in all honesty

He fucking buys stuff toys and all

Though he’s afraid of the princesses, Doppo buys him a crown and so he’s just prancing around in a dress shirt and his fancy slacks and honestly just looks like a very Disney person

Has the cutest pictures with the aesthetic food

He also jumps around and drags everyone on the rides

Don’t pair with Ramuda, they’re gonna fucking make everyone die

He can’t pick a favorite ride because he loves all of them

Might be the Disney poster boy

I like doing math on PAPER but in my head, NO.  So this task was really killing me!!!  Because of this, I’ll just say this at the start: If you hate doing addition in your head AND while multitasking and playing the game you won’t be able to pass this bingo task (other than TOTAL 1 in a million luck of randomly clearing tsums til you happen to get 100, lol), your only option to beat this task is to find a friend who IS okay with doing addition in their head and can beat the task for you. :/ If anyone can think of a way to get around this without doing math, feel free to chime in! haha

It took me a ton of tries, but I finally got it, and here are the tips I can give you:

- Much like the exact coin task (I can’t remember which card that’s on) you want to AVOID having any bubbles or a full tsum skill meter at the end of the game because that’ll add to your total and ruin everything.

 - Try saying the amounts out loud, that could possibly help you keep track of the total and adding.

- EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TIP: If you hate math and want to avoid further complications, don’t clear chains larger than 6, because if you do a chain of 7 or more that’ll create a bubble and then you have to make sure you pay attention to how many tsums the bubble cleared because VERY VERY IMPORTANT: the quantity it shows after you pop the bubble INCLUDES the BUBBLE but for the purposes of this task the bubble does NOT COUNT as a tsum.  So, say it says the bubble cleared 10, that’s actually 9 tsums + 1 bubble, so you need to take that amount and minus 1 to your total towards 100.

- If you ARE OKAY with doing math in your head then it’s fine to clear a large chain if your total is under 60, if it’s over 60 I wouldn’t risk it because you risk going over 100 at that point.  Let’s say you have 60, you clear a chain of 25, that’s 85, then you pop the bubble and it adds 10 more tsums to your total (1 bubbles + 10 tsums) then you’re already at 95, and you just need to clear a single chain of 5 (make sure you ONLY do chain of 5, because no other combo will work since you must clear 3 tsums minimum). Now let’s say your total is 70, you clear a chain of 25, then pop a bubble that clears 10 additional tsums, that’s 105 total.  So, if you’re careful and you only clear a chain of 10, for a total of 80, pop the bubble that adds 10 tsums, then you have room to clear small chains to reach 100.

- On that note, just to give it its own bullet point: REMEMBER that you must clear a minimum of 3 tsums to make a chain, so keep that in mind when you’re down to 10 or less tsums to go to reach 100.  Like, if you clear three chains of 3, then you’re screwed because you can’t clear 1 single tsum (unless you have Holiday Donald’s skill activated).  Or you clear two chains of 4, and have 2 tsums to go, out of luck again.  So for your convenience/for people who hate math, here are the workable chain quantities you can do once you’re down to 10 tsums to go (i.e. you’ve cleared 90 tsums so far)

5 chain + 5 chain

6 chain + 4 chain (or vice versa)

3 + 3 + 4 (in any order)

As you can see, there’s not much options for 10 left, so might be best to pay attention with even 15 left so you have some room to think about your totals.  Here are some (not ALL) potential chains you could do:

Five 3 chains

3 + 4 + 4 + 4

3 + 6 + 6

5 + 5 + 5

6 + 4 + 5

- If you normally play with gyro on and hold your phone perpendicular to the floor, I would suggest turning off gyro and looking at your phone flat, because (for me at least) it was easier to do math without having to pay attention to properly angling my phone.

- I recommend transformation tsums and NOT burst tsums because burst tsums will always remove a lot of tsums which will create more bubbles, plus most will remove an unspecified amount of tsums so you’ll have to pay attention to how much it clears after (as opposed to seeing the amount prior to clearing, when making chains).  Transformation tsums, on the other hand, especially ones that transform in clusters next to each other, will make it easier for you to quickly clear chains to add to your total.

- I used Holiday Daisy, here are some other possible premium box tsums that MAY work for this task (I tested them, but the SKILL LEVEL your tsum is on will make a difference) in no particular order:

Holiday and Valentine Daisy

Pascal

Holiday, Valentine, Cat Hat Minnie

Pumpkin Chip

Ghost Dale

Aladdin

Clarice

Aurora

Nala

Elizabeth Swann

White Rabbit (MAY work depending on his skill level due to stopping time allowing you a few extra seconds to think)

Pumpkin Mickey (triggering fever with his skill won’t affect your tsum count AND it will buy you additional 5 seconds)

Holiday Donald (tapping single tsums MAY work but for me it was kind of more cumbersome. I did get very close though, so I think it is possible)

POSSIBLE but because they take so many tsums to power up (19+), may not be worth it:

Oswald

Alien

Sulley

Alice

Little Oyster

Angel

Cinderella

Gaston

Mrs. Potts

Not recommended because their skill removes additional tsums besides what’s in the chain thus complicating things:

Anna and Birthday Anna

Maleficent and Dragon Maleficent

Fairy Godmother

Baymax (he doesn’t remove extra but because he only makes giant tsums you’ll always get a bubble which also complicates things)
