And another, for today

I woke up close to noon today, since I fell asleep around 4am. My mental state was... markedly poor, and my appetite was weak - non-existent, even. For nearly three hours after, I refused to eat, or even to leave my bed for anything more than my medications.

When I did finally make it out of bed, I went to my desk and promptly began working on my sewing. I was quickly interrupted by my mother entering my room. She said she forgot I existed, and then that she and my sister were going out to watch a romance movie, and that if I wasn't going, I still had to be out of the house.

I opted to go to the mall. I went to DonDonDonki, a Japanese supermarket of sorts, in an attempt to find Devil Onigiri, which I recalled enjoying the mixed texture of. However, it seemed that it wasn't available, and neither was grilled squid. I wound up trying to find my way out when I accidentally wandered into an aisle where I found various fortified energy bars - CalorieMate, to be exact. I had been searching for them, and so I bought some to carry with me.

In the end, I decided to go to McDonalds (after staring at the calorie counters on the local website) and had a Cheeseburger (without condiments, still), fries, a small milo and 6 pieces of nuggets. I only just barely finished it, and only because I hadn't eaten in 15 hours at that point. After, I went to DAISO for some sewing markers, and then to the library, where I sat sewing.

Unfortunately, I got terribly lightheaded and had a headache, so I didn't make much progress. I wasn't sure why I felt so unwell. When I finally left to go home, I laid in bed as soon as I could, utterly exhausted and still had a headache.

When dinner time came, my mother came to get me from my room, and my vision went black for several seconds when I tried to sit up in bed, and once more when I moved to stand. I asked for a smaller portion, and was scolded with "If you want to eat so little you might as well not eat". Since I was already unwell and irritable, I grumbled that "Then I just won't."

I was yelled at, and forced to eat regardless. I had half a plate of white rice, a portion of steamed fish and egg drop soup. Ironically, I felt a lot better after eating, and my headache disappeared. I went back to my sewing, before deciding that I would stop for a shower.

I have just finished the shower, and intend to take my medications before I consider doing anything else. My mental state has been tanking, and I'm wary of... well. Relapsing before I've even made progress on my health. The chest pains have been an annoyance and I've apparently begun having miscellaneous minor struggles, so I may soon consider a doctor again.

hojicha latte (iced) $3.20

today i finally tried donki’s hojicha latte! it was pretty thick and taste of the roasted tea and it’s earthy notes really shoney through. my father did mention that it was sweet, but i don’t think the sweetness tasted that artificial. i have to say that the drink itself probably only filled up half the cup without the ice, but i think that’s fine since it was pretty affordable. would love to try the matcha latte and hot versions too!

daifuku mochi shiro goma $2

this piqued my interest as when i was growing up i’d always watch cooking with dog, and there was a recipe on ichigo daifuku. i’m not sure what i was expecting with this, but it wasn’t as good as i had anticipated. the dessert was frozen when i bought it and had defrosted by the time i got home. the mochi was filled with a generous amount of red bean and coated with sesame seeds. the red bean paste contained chunks of red beans which i appreciated, for added texture but it was a little bland in my opinion. the mochi was soft and the sesame seeds provided extra crunch. that said, i wouldn’t get this again just because i didn’t enjoy it much.

i picked up their tokyo shoyu nissin ramen as well as it was only $3.80 for 5 packets, but i’ve yet to try it.

would love to try more of donki’s desserts, if you’ve got any suggestions let me know. ★彡ϵ( 'Θ' )϶
