Dancing with the Stars Season 3 Rewatch: Week 7

This is the first week that each couple does two individual dances. So let's just get started.

Ballroom Round

Jerry and Kym- Foxtrot (Judges' Score=24, My Score=7)- So I think this was Jerry's best dance of the season. It was a decent dance. I think he was a bit in his head, so that caused him to not perform it like he usually does. But I thought it was nice.

Monique and Louis- Quickstep (Judges' Score=27, My Score=9)- I know I sound like a broken record with these two, but I really loved this dance so much. She was super elegant. Her footwork was amazing. She handled the wardrobe malfunction extremely well. I'm so upset that she stumbled a bit. It could've been a perfect score.

Emmitt and Chery- Waltz (Judges' Score=28, My Score=9)- Emmitt was a completely different dancer this week. I could tell how much he paid attention to the little details. His footwork was really nice. I loved his posture and frame. Like Len, his arms bugged me from time to time. But yeah, he turned it up this week.

Mario and Karina- Foxtrot (Judges' Score=29, My Score=9)- I wanted to give this dance a 10, but I just couldn't justify it. And I don't know why the judges went so googoo gaga over it. I actually didn't find him that relaxed and the top half of his body did not match the bottom half. The top half was stiff and he looked unsure of himself in a way that I hadn't seen all competition. The bottom half was mostly fine. I will say that his arms were way better this week.

Joey and Edyta- Foxtrot (Judges' Score=29, My Score=10)- Welp. Joey finally impressed me. I really loved this routine. Everything seemed to finally come together for him in this dance. He performed it extremely well. I thought his whole body matched. His technique was better than Mario's. It was good.

Latin Round

Jerry and Kym- Mambo (Judges' Score=22, My Score=6)- Whew. Okay. Well I will say that I am glad that he was able to get both dances done. The dance was not good though. There was no rhythm. There was no hips. No technique. No nothing. But he's improved greatly and he's been so enjoyable to watch. I'm glad he went home on this note as opposed to potentially leaving after last week's disastrous paso.

Monique and Louis- Paso Doble (Judges' Score=27, My Score=10)- Another incredible dance from this couple. If I'm being honest, I had to watch it a second time to see the underarm turn issues and the moment where she got off balance a bit. I saw both but that was after they got pointed out. So I'm sticking with the 10 because most of that stuff was really miniscule and it was a top tier dance in my opinion.

Emmitt and Cheryl- Mambo (Judges' Score=29, My Score=9)- I love this dance so much. It is so much fun and Emmitt's energy is just so infectious. I personally cannot give it a 10 because his footwork was a little too stompy for my liking, but everything else was great.

Mario and Karina- Jive (Judges' Score=27, My Score=9)- This actually has been my favorite dance from the couple this season. Mario seemed to be at ease, his feet were great and the bounce action was really good. Now, two things that I found to be problematic. The first is his free arm. It's just funky. And the second was sometimes he would become the "no neck monster" (s/o to Tyra). That's it.

Joey and Edyta- Mambo (Judges' Score=28, My Score=8)- I'm gonna seem like a hater, but I didn't like it. It was all over the place and he did not look like he was in control most of the time. It was a mess to me if I'm being honest.

My Ranking and Scores Out of 60:

1 Monique and Louis- 55 (27 for quickstep, 28 for paso) = Emmitt and Cheryl- 55 (27 for waltz, 28 for mambo) 3 Mario and Karina- 54 (27 for foxtrot and jive) 4 Joey and Edyta- 53 (29 for foxtrot, 24 for mambo) 5 Jerry and Kym- 40 (22 for foxtrot, 18 for mambo)

In the end, Jerry was sent home. It was honestly time for him to do so. He wasn't on the level of anyone else and I don't think he was going to improve anymore. That being said, next week will be interesting for sure. Let me know your thoughts and I will talk to you all soon.

Dancing with the Stars Season 3 Rewatch: Week 6

And we're back for week 6. Just a reminder for everyone, Sara left after week 5's elimination show, so we have 5 couples left.

Mario and Karina- Mambo (Judges' Score=28, My Score=9)- This was probably Mario's best dance so far. He was very precise. I didn't see any mistakes. His musicality really shined through. My issue was still his free arm. He never knows what to do with it and it always just looks a tad awkward. It might come from him being really uptight/nervous when he dances.

Monique and Louis- Samba (Judges' Score=23, My Score=9)- Okay so I do not actually understand why this dance got two 7s. There was a lot of samba content. And the samba was very good. It wasn't her best, but it was actually really nice. Monique has amazing arms and legs. She really is one of my favorite dancers to watch on this show. Even her not as great dances are still really good.

Joey and Edyta- Rumba (Judges' Score=24, My Score=8)- So this has been my favorite dance from Joey so far. It also was his best in my opinion. His arms were pretty good most times during this dance. I think Mario could learn a thing or two from him about having his arms be more fluid. I did see a mistake and thought that he still seems to be uncomfortable letting go of his masculinity and really dancing full out. There were moments when his movements seemed to be fighting against what his body naturally wanted to do. I absolutely hated that beginning though.

Emmitt and Cheryl- Jive (Judges' Score=25, My Score=8)- I liked this dance. It was super energetic and very fun. I think Emmitt forgot some of the choreography and his feet were atrocious. But as an overall performance, it was good.

Jerry and Kym- Paso Doble (Judges' Score=18, My Score=5)- Yeah, this wasn't good. I mean, Kym created a great dance to try and show Jerry's strengths. But it just wasn't a good dance at all. That's all I got for it.

Group Disco Thoughts: I thought this was cute-ish. The lifts were cool. I wasn't super impressed by anyone. I felt something missing. It did show me that Monique was the best dancer on the season by a lot and people conveniently forget her when talking about the best being robbed (aka not Mario).

My Rankings and Scores Out of 30:

1 Mario and Karina- 28 2 Monique and Louis- 25 3 Joey and Edyta- 23 = Emmitt and Cheryl- 23 5 Jerry and Kym- 17

I think this week was a bit underwhelming. Most everyone was slightly off their game. It's also getting harder and harder to get through this season seeing as though Monique is being held to a much higher standard than anyone else. No one was eliminated due to Sara quitting. But the bottom two was Joey and Jerry. I wasn't surprised at all by that. With that said, let me know you all's thoughts and I will talk to you soon.

I'm not sure if you wanted a platonic or romantic relationship between the reader and Daryl so I went with something in between 😂

It's as if I'm underwater, barely listening to the words of the doctor after hearing that we're being sent to our death, unwillingly and unknowingly. There's a sense of warmth that fills me, thinking about dying quickly enough to just go and be with the people I love, the people who have been gone and dearly missed.

The people around me frantically make their way to the shut doors, trying their best to pry it open and my legs can't seem to move me or lift my weak, tired body from the tile floor.

"C'mon, we gotta go." Daryl mutters, holding a hand out to me but I just shake my head, my eyes tearing as I look up at him through wet lashes. He looks floored, taking a step back from me with parted lips, shock and confusion passing across his expression. "C'mon-"

"No." I mutter, listening to the clock countdown as the rest of the group yells and threatens the doctor but Daryl's too busy, too concerned with my well-being and safety to focus on whatever they're doing.

He kneels down in front of me, resting a hand on my knee. "If you're killing yourself then you're killin' me too." My heart stops at the thought of him staying here with me, putting himself on the line to make a point. I knew he was stubborn but not this much. I'm not sure if he means it, if he would actually let me do this to myself but I could never live with myself if he died because of me.

"Daryl..."

"If you stay, I'm stayin'. End of discussion." His voice wavers a bit, thumbs reaching up to brush the tears away from my cheeks. "So either get your ass up and come with me. Or we're both going out together." I gulp, my eyes flickering back and forth between his as I ponder.

A few tense moments pass and I sigh, sniffling loudly as I allow him to help me to my feet. He blows out a breath of air and presses a kiss to the side of my head, wrapping an arm tightly around my shoulders to hold me against him, worried that I would allow myself to slip away if he were to let go.
