1958 Packard Hawk Sport Coupé
The interior was full leather, with full instrumentation in an engine-turned dash. As on early aircraft and custom boats, padded armrests were mounted outside the windows, a rare touch.
The styling was definitely controversial, often described as 'vacuum-cleaner' or 'catfish' by detractors. The styling has come to be appreciated more today than in its debut. Only 588 were sold, with Packard's impending demise a likely contributing factor. Most were equipped with the Borg-Warner three-speed automatic transmission. Approximately 28 were produced with the B-W T85 3-speed w/overdrive manual transmission. Studebaker-Packard was the first manufacturer to popularize the limited slip differential, which they termed Twin-Traction. Most Packard Hawks came with TT. It was certainly the fastest Packard ever sold, since it shared the majority of its components with Studebaker's Golden Hawk. The price was $3995, about $700 higher than the Studebaker model, but with a more luxurious interior. Electric window-lifts and power seats were optional extras.
Its rarity and status as the best-regarded of the 'Packardbaker' final-year cars have made the Packard Hawk quite collectible. Values are roughly double those of the equivalent Studebaker, although they are still low by comparison with Corvettes and Thunderbirds. Because a Studebaker drivetrain was used, mechanical parts are more readily available, although body and trim parts are more difficult-to-impossible to find. While it is a unique car, current restoration costs almost always exceed the selling price.

Cette tunique s'allonge jusqu'aux deux tiers de la jupe. Manches ballon, en velours noir, sur manches plates, en lainage bleu. Jupe légèrement froncée tout autour, en forme de cloche. Grand chapeau de velours noir, orné devant par deux grandes plumes d'autruche et derrière par une plume semblable retombant sur la nuque.
(1) Electric blue woolen dress. Bodice in trimmings, cut at the bottom by a rising woolen point, from which emerges a similar tunic, with cuffs and pleated behind. This tunic extends up to two thirds of the skirt. Balloon sleeves, in black velvet, on flat sleeves, in blue wool. Skirt slightly gathered all around, in the shape of a bell. Large black velvet hat, decorated in front with two large ostrich feathers and behind with a similar feather falling on the nape of the neck.

(2) Costume de lainage héliotrope. Corsage froncé, mis dans la ceinture, sous une veste semblable, garnie de passementerie. Manches ballon sur manches plates. Jupe froncée légèrement tout autour, avec grecque brodée dans le bas. Gros collier de fourrure autour. Petite capote en surah drapé, avec demi-guirlande de roses surmontée par des oreilles d'ours en ruban.
(2) Heliotrope wool suit. Gathered bodice, placed in the belt, under a similar jacket, trimmed with trimmings. Balloon sleeves over flat sleeves. Skirt gathered slightly all around, with embroidered Greek at the bottom. Big fur collar around. Small draped surah hood, with half-garland of roses topped by ribbon bear ears.

(3) Costume empire, en drap beige. Corsage plat, séparé de la jupe froncée tout autour par une ceinture à pointe remontante, prise sous les bras. Jupe ronde et longue. Manches à gigot, surmontées par un jockey plissé, garni de velours.

Manches gigot, en velours ombré plus foncé. La jupe, faisant suite au corselet, est plate devant et plissée derrière en petite traîne. Le bas est orné par un galon d'argent. Capote de velours vert, garnie tout autour par un galon d'argent. Brides de ruban blanc et fantaisie d'oiseau posée en aigrette sur le sommet devant.
(4) Emerald green shaded velvet ensemble. — Corsage-bodice gathered at the waist, open over a darker velvet shirt, on which it is held on the shoulders by straps. Lamb sleeves, in darker shaded velvet. The skirt, following the corselet, is flat in front and pleated behind in a small train. The bottom is decorated with silver braid. Green velvet hood, trimmed all around with silver braid. Straps of white ribbon and bird motif placed in an egret on the top in front.
Métrage: 10 m. velours ombré émeraude; 4 m. velours ombré plus foncé.
(5) Toilette de peau de soie gris-rosé. Corsage froncé, retenu à la taille par une large ceinture de ruban gris-argent. Un large revers passant par-dessus la ceinture, va en s'élargissant jusqu'au bas d'une tunique retombant en pointes devant jusqu'aux deux tiers de la jupe, froncée et plissée, ronde derrière. Le même galon gris-argent orné le bas de la tunique et de la jupe. Manches bouffantes du haut, en velours noir, surmontées par des jockeys de velours, garnies également lours noir, surmontées par des jockeys de velours, garnies également de galon gris-argent. Grand chapeau rond, en velours gris-rosé, garni en dessus par une touffe de coques de velours noir, retenues par une boucle de strass.
(5) Gray-pinkish silk skin ensemble. Gathered bodice, held at the waist by a wide silver-grey ribbon belt. A wide lapel passing over the belt, widening to the bottom of a tunic falling in points in front to two thirds of the skirt, gathered and pleated, round behind. The same silver-gray braid adorns the bottom of the tunic and skirt. Puff sleeves at the top, in black velvet, surmounted by velvet jockeys, also trimmed with black hem, surmounted by velvet jockeys, also trimmed with gray-silver braid. Large round hat, in gray-pink velvet, garnished on top with a tuft of black velvet shells, held in place by a rhinestone buckle.

The presentation of the first generation (code name 970), which took place in April 2009 in China, revealed only part of the model range (3 versions), later expanded to 9 (including a diesel and a hybrid). Furthermore, there is a version with a 15cm longer wheelbase, called Executive.
In April 2013, a restyling was presented which, in addition to modifications to the headlights and bumpers, introduced some new engine features.
The 400 HP 4.8 V8 was replaced by the more powerful and high-performance 420 HP 3.0 V6 biturbo for the S version.

The Panamera is a 4-door coupé approximately 5 meters long, with top speeds ranging between 259 km/h for the Diesel version and 310 km/h for the Turbo S version. The four seats consist of single seats; the external style deliberately recalls that of the Porsche 911, especially at the front, so as to make the Panamera immediately recognizable as a Porsche.
Production takes place in the Leipzig plant, the same one where the Porsche Cayenne is assembled, demonstrating the presence of many points in common between the two models (starting from the engines and the integral transmission on the 4S and Turbo models).
The markets for which the model is intended are, in addition to Europe and the USA, above all the emerging markets (Russia, China, Middle East): for this reason the presentation took place at the Chinese show in Shanghai.
In April 2013, the restyled version of the Panamera was announced, which then made its debut at the Shanghai Auto Show. The plug-in hybrid version, called Panamera S E-Hybrid, was introduced on the US market in November 2013.

The second generation Panamera was unveiled on 28 June 2016 at an event held in Berlin. The code name is Type 971; the car, built on the VW Group's new Porsche MSB (Modular Standard Drive) platform, is 35 millimeters longer and 5 mm wider than the first generation, with 30 millimeters more wheelbase. The interior features a redesigned dashboard, with center console instrumentation made up of touch-sensitive surfaces replacing the previous generation with physical buttons. The tachometer, the only analogue instrument, is mounted centrally on the instrument panel and recalls that of the 1955 Porsche 356 A. The new car is equipped with two seven-inch displays instead of the classic pointer dials in the dashboard, with another screen 12.3-inch touchscreen that also acts as a satellite navigator with Apple CarPlay integration present in the center console. The new instrumentation is called Advanced Cockpit. Under the bonnet is a new range of engines, with only the Panamera 4S, 4S Diesel and Turbo versions available at launch.

In March 2017 Porsche presented the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, a plug-in hybrid car. The Turbo S E-Hybrid features the 4.0-liter V8 engine from the Panamera Turbo, but it comes paired with an electric motor. The total system output is 680 hp, making it the second most powerful production Porsche ever built, after the 918 Spyder.
In this new model the torque of the overall system rises to 850 Nm, reaching the torque level of the Diesel version. Performance also increases, 0-100 is covered in 3.4 and 0-200 in 8.2 seconds.

The new Panamera aesthetically no longer features the rounded tailgate that had divided automotive critics of the previous series, but now the tail with a more tapered and squared style recalls that of the 991 through the headlights and the longitudinal rear LED strip. This improvement in design helped clarify the model's identity as a touring-oriented sports car.
In March 2017 at the Geneva Motor Show, a shooting brake version of the Panamera II series built on the same base, called Panamera Sport Turismo, was presented.
The restyling of the second generation Panamera was presented on August 26, 2020.

His Majesty King Charles has always enjoyed driving and has a fondness for high-performance motor cars. One might class him as a petrol head, if it were not was his strong views on environmental issues! Below are of some of His Majesty's most memorable cars.
The King's first two cars were more environmentally friendly than any he has driven since.

Charles acquired an Austin J40 when he was just two years old, and the Tri-ang Centurion Sunbeam Coupé shortly afterwards.
The Monarch's first petrol engine car was an MGC GT in 1968.

It had wire wheels, a heated rear windscreen. It probably caught a lot of attention while he was at Trinity College, Cambridge.
Possibly the most famous of the Sovereign's motors is the Aston Martin DB6 Volante Mk2, which was gifted to him by his mother for his 21st birthday in 1969.

This car was much faster than the MG. Charles enlisted F1 champion Graham Hill to give him a "confidence building" training day at Thruxton motor racing circuit, to learn how to handle high performance motors.
The King still has this Aston Martin. In 2008 it was converted to run on a bio-fuel made primarily from surplus English white wine and cheese (whey). The Princes William and Harry were both seen driving this car following their respective weddings.
The King has owned several other cars over the last 50 years, including a Range Rover, Aston Martins, a Vauxhall and Audis.

In 2018, Charles became the first member of The Royal Family to own an Electric Vehicle when he leased a Jaguar i-Pace. And in 2021 he was spotted driving a Tesla when he visited his father in hospital.

The Tesla was sold in 2022.
Unofficial sources tell me that King Charles may be ordering an all electric Range Rover, and is considering converting the iconic State limousines to run on bio-fuel.

What a difference 54 years makes juxtaposition of Peugeot 304 Coupé, 1970 and Peugeot E-3008, 2024. The coupé version of Peugeot's compact front wheel drive 304 was designed at Pininfarina. The E-3008 compact crossover coupé is the first Stellantis product to utilise the group’s new STLA Medium platform delivers up to 316hp and 435 miles of electric range.

Wiesmann MF5 GT 
The MF5 GT was in the absolute top position. This model series made its debut in 2007 during the IAA at the Wiesmann dealer in Frankfurt. It took around one and a half years before series production began. As with the MF4, a bonded and riveted aluminium chassis lay beneath the body made of glass-fiber-reinforced plastic. For the smaller MF3, Wiesmann used a tube frame.Technically, the brothers Friedhelm and Martin Wiesmann continued to use BMW components for the MF5. Only the best was good enough for the flagship. The five-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine with 373 kW/507 hp and 520 Nm of torque was taken over from the M5 (E60/E61) and M6 (E63/E64) series. The automated SMG III transmission with seven gears, the ABS and a few other driver assistance systems also came from the M6. Steering components came from the smaller 3 Series with the internal model codes E46 and E90. All around, 19-inch wheels with 265/35 ZR 19 tires at the front and 325/30 ZR 19 tires at the rear were used as standard. When BMW retired the E60, E61, E63 and E64 series and thus also discontinued production of the V10, Wiesmann switched in parallel to the V8 biturbo engine from the X5 M. This produced 408 kW/555 hp from 4.4 liters of displacement, which was transmitted to the rear wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.Initially, the Wiesmann MF5 GT was only available as a Coupé. Wider fenders, a modified front spoiler lip and a fixed rear wing clearly distinguished the car from the less powerful MF4 GT. Incidentally, the first 30 production cars of the MF5 GT had chassis numbers of its smaller brother. It wasn’t until number 031 that a separate number range began. The last MF5 GT with the V10 engine was numbered 056, and the V8 biturbo engine was subsequently fitted in just 22 cars. In September 2009, the Roadster version finally made its debut at the IAA in Frankfurt. For this car, Wiesmann used an electrically extendable rear spoiler for the first time, which generated more downforce at higher speeds. Since it was already foreseeable at the time of the premiere that the V10 engine wouldn’t be available for much longer, Wiesmann limited the MF5 Roadster to 55 units. However, due to the long production times and the fact that new EU registrations were no longer possible from 2011, only 43 were produced, followed by 63 cars with V8.
Author's note: recently German firm Wiesmann decided that its next car will be an EV, which led to this prototype: Project Thunderball. That won't be the real name, but this is mostly the real car, with 671 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque. Assuming it reaches production anytime soon, it'll be the first EV roadster since the original Lotus-based Tesla. Stay tuned!

The four-door coupé is the first performance hybrid and at the same time the most powerful series-production model of the brand from Affalterbach to date. The combination of 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine and electric motor ensures superior driving performance and outstanding driving dynamics with impressive efficiency at the same time.
Mercedes-AMG is forging its own technical path to transport its hallmark brand DNA into an electrified future. To achieve this, the Affalterbach-based company uses, for example, technologies from Formula 1 in its E PERFORMANCE Hybrid strategy. The concept includes an independent drive layout with an electric motor and battery on the rear axle.
In the AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE, the system consists of a 4.0‑litre V8 biturbo engine with a permanently excited synchronous electric motor, a high-performance battery developed by AMG and the fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system.
The system power of 620 kW (843 hp) and the maximum system torque of more than 1400 Nm enable acceleration from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds. After less than ten seconds, 200 km/h are reached. Acceleration only ends at 316 km/h.
