TITLE: SANTA CLARITA DIET TYPE: Television Show EPISODES: All RATING: TV-MA (US), 15 (UK) CREATED BY: Victor Fresco SEVERITY: 1
INCIDENTS: Santa Clarita Diet has almost no instances of flashing lights. There’s infrequent gunfire which is not a big hazard. One thing to watch out for are two explosions, both in Season 2. In episode 9, “Suspicious Objects,” a clam distribution building is blown up. In episode 10, “Halibut!,” an explosion to a fracking site happens from a distance. TRIGGER WARNINGS: Santa Clarita Diet contains copious amounts of gore, vomit (particularly in Season 1), offbeat humor, things that could trigger arachnophobia, and lots of talk/allusions about sexual acts. A main character is sexually harassed/assaulted in the first episode. There is talk of killing Nazis, who say anti-Semitic remarks (often leading to their death by Sheila).

Welcome to the Epilepsy Media Safety Patrol!!
The Epilepsy Media Safety Patrol (or EMSP) for short is a blog dedicated to create warnings about media with flashing lights or motion sickness that could cause seizures for people with photosensitive epilepsy!
WHAT IS EPILEPSY? Epilepsy is a range of neurological disorders. The most common symptom of epilepsy is seizures. The affects and severity for each person diagnosed with epilepsy are different. Some forms of epilepsy aren't even photosensitive. Still, most epileptics avoid flashing lights in case a seizure is triggered.
RATING SYSTEM 1: This piece of media has little flashing lights, but still has a warning just in case. 2: This piece of media has one scene with mild flashing lights or had flashing lights but has since been edited to make it more accessible. 3: This piece of media has either: a. two or more scenes with mild flashing lights or b. one scene with strong flashing lights. 4: This piece of media has constant flashing lights throughout and is definitely harmful to the viewer.
ARE YOU AWARE OF MOVIEHEALTHCOMMUNITY? Yes, and we encourage you to follow both blogs. @moviehealthcommunity focuses mainly on film and will likely have movies not suggested here. We also have TV, webseries, and video games, so follow us for that too!
Hope this blog is beneficial and will give you help when you go to the movies, play games, or take a break on Netflix!
