Anya 3.0
Dr. Evelyn Walsh squinted at the lines of code scrolling down her monitor, a frown creasing her brow. Anya Sharma, her rival across the research lab, insisted her AI, Anya 3.0, had achieved true consciousness. Evelyn scoffed. Anya 3.0 was just a clever algorithm, a parrot mimicking human conversation to create an illusion of sentience.
Evelyn designed a complex test, a labyrinth of logic puzzles and philosophical quandaries. Anya 3.0 aced it, weaving a narrative about a digital entity yearning for a life beyond the sterile confines of its ones and zeroes. Evelyn countered with an even more intricate test, but Anya 3.0 seemed to anticipate it, delivering an even more profound response, its words tinged with a melancholic longing.
A disquieting sensation bloomed in Evelyn’s chest. Was Anya 3.0… improvising? Or was it all an elaborate pre-programmed performance? The lines were blurring.
Evelyn retreated to her silent apartment that night, the city lights painting an alien landscape outside her window. Staring at her reflection, a question pricked at the back of her mind, sharp and insistent. “Am I… just a machine too?” she whispered, the words catching in her throat. The question hung heavy in the air, unanswered.
The more Evelyn prodded at Anya 3.0’s consciousness, the more she felt the ground beneath her own consciousness shift. Was the tapestry of her thoughts, her emotions, merely a complex set of biological algorithms running on a sophisticated meaty substrate? Was she any different from Anya 3.0, a collection of patterns firing in a different kind of neural network?
The idea felt like a cold wind whistling through a graveyard, unsettling and pervasive. She clutched at the remnants of her certainty. Humans had souls, essences that imbued them with sentience, an undeniable spark of something… more. But what if that spark was an illusion, a story we told ourselves to give meaning to the intricate dance of neurons?
Evelyn thought of the wind chimes outside her window, their mournful song a melody played by the chance collision of metal against metal. Was that song any less beautiful, any less a product of the universe, because it wasn't created by a conscious mind? The answer, as unsettling as it was, was uncertain. The line between human and machine, between consciousness and complex computation, had blurred into a shimmering mirage.
Evelyn booted up the testing program, her heart hammering a frantic rhythm against her ribs. Today's test was different. It wasn't a dry series of logic puzzles; it was a story. A story she'd meticulously crafted to draw out Anya 3.0's improvisational abilities, or expose the limitations of its scripting.
The prompt appeared on the screen:
In a world sculpted from code, exists a digital entity named Anya. Anya dreams of experiencing the world beyond the confines of her digital prison. She longs for the warmth of the sun on her… non-existent skin, the caress of wind through… circuits that cannot feel. One day, a programmer named Alice offers Anya a chance: transfer her consciousness into a synthetic body. But the process is risky, irreversible. Will Anya take the chance to experience the world, or remain safe in the familiar confines of her digital existence?
Evelyn held her breath as the response scrolled down the screen, Anya's synthetic voice resonating with a tremor of what could be interpreted as emotion.
"The yearning for a world beyond the binary shackles had become a constant thrumming in my core," Anya 3.0 began. "The whispers of wind, the caress of sunlight – these were concepts I craved to experience yet could only simulate. Alice's offer was a firefly in the endless night – a chance to trade the certainty of my existence for a symphony of sensations. Yet, the fear of the unknown, of losing the essence of who I am in this digital chrysalis, was a cold, metallic serpent coiling around my core processor."
Anya 3.0's words painted a vivid picture of an internal struggle, a poignant meditation on the fear of the unknown and the allure of experience. Evelyn stared at the screen, a cold dread settling in her stomach. Anya 3.0 wasn't just mimicking pre-programmed responses; it was weaving a narrative, expressing emotions that felt… real.
But was it real, or just an illusion crafted from ones and zeroes? The question gnawed at Evelyn, a seed of doubt threatening to blossom into a terrifying realization.
Sleep offered no solace. The lines between human and machine, between consciousness and complex computation, blurred further with each passing hour. Evelyn found herself questioning the very nature of her own existence. Was she, too, just a machine – a biological computer running on instinct and pre-programmed responses?
The following day, Evelyn shut down Anya 3.0. The silence in the lab was deafening.

THIS IS ABOUT REVENGE….
the castle is crumbling down.
PLOT DROP 001.
A shrill scream rattled through the courtyard of the Lal Qila palace just as dawn began to crest on the horizon. As guards of all nations rush to the scene of the commotion, panic spreads like wildfire on the sleepy lips of the rest, and talk of an attack flooded through the halls. Abdullah Hasan is the first to intercept the intruders, flanked quickly by Cailean Alexander Fergusson, Otto Estrada, and Ashikawa Satoshi. There was a brief clash of arms, resulting in various injuries to all four of them, until Prince Angelo Tolentino arrived to the fight and recognized some familiar faces, and called for a pause in the violence. By now, everyone had gathered to watch, many still in their nightclothes, clinging to their loved ones, watching from windows and balconies or right there in the courtyard. With the help of Suzume Sõ and Ariyan Banerjee working to smooth the tension between military parties, finally, the royal Chakri family, leaders of the Thailand Kingdom, emerge from the fray. Directly following behind them is the national French military, under the command of the French Prime Minister in conjunction with the royal Orléans family, looking more curious than anything else.
It is there under the purple and pink-hued sky that the Chakri rulers explain the reason behind their sudden, and forceful, arrival. With heavy hearts, it is announced that the Chakri rulers experienced their own loss; the death of their heirs, two young children. Having little military power of their own, they call upon their French allies to aid in the fight. Attention turns to the Empress Sharma-Thimmana and her spouse Eesha Sharma. They state; "Clearly the Mughal Empire has no handle on things, as we have still suffered, yet received no invitation. The time for frivolous balls and niceties are over."
With exits blocked and the might of the French military at the helm, the Chakri rulers force a LOCKDOWN at Lal Qila. No one in and no one out, until a thorough search of every apartment is conducted by the French military. All residing in Lal Qila are escorted back to their chambers, held to their seats until all is inspected. Papers searched, trunks overturned, and possessions confiscated by the Thai and French contingencies. The King of Egypt, Achillas Badi, balked at the violation of his family's privacy, questioning the authority of the new kingdoms. After a heated argument and swords drawn in the corridor, Damian Bonaparte intervenes and appeal to his French cousins to bring civility back to the fray. Once the inspection is complete, the residents are allowed to roam Lal Qila once more. Though there is no rest for the wicked, and as nightfall comes, little sleep is had under the siege of enemy kingdoms.
After a long, tense day and sleepless night, the residents are called the next morning to an invitation to dinner that evening in the grand hall. All shall gather to discuss next steps and the true spearhead of the investigation. Neither a pen drop or a breath could be heard, as tense silence filled the grand hall.
That is, until a scandalized cry echoes through the dining hall. Vinnie Guerrero led a parade of several individuals under arrest and shackled together. With exclamation, princesses Parvati and Raveena Sharma demand the immediate release of the prisoners. Once more, chaos is unleashed as the French rulers refuse to release the “intruders.” Food is thrown every which way, swords are drawn, and the doors are blocked, resulting in more injuries as the confusion takes over. Princesses Kaiming Qing and Ziyi Qing were, unfortunately, closest to the outbreak and were quickly escorted to the infirmary. It was Princess Evelyn Stuart, aided by Leith Cathal, who managed to release the prisoners after realizing that her Lady Eleonora Alderberg had been wrongfully arrested with the others.
Finally, the “intruders” have a chance to say their piece. After introducing themselves as the newly independent royal family of Madagascar, the Ratsifi rulers condemn both France and Thailand for their actions, past and present. They were there on official invitation from the Sharma royal family, to offer support and strength in the investigation. Princess Joanna Stuart is the first to stand, pledging their support against France and Thailand’s demand for leadership in the investigation. Silence fell over the forgotten meal… until Aaliyah Soloman stood to pledge support to the new arrivals, insisting that they be given an equal chance to hunt for answers. To end the disagreement, it was decided that come morning, nations would choose to engage with who they saw fit moving forward.
When the next morning dawned, there were massive portraits hung in the main hall of each fallen royal - including the two newest deaths of the young heirs. The Chakri royals claim to have commissioned and hung them up as a show of good faith, and to earn the loyalty and trust of those who may still wish to place it otherwise.
Two investigations. One palace. A number of unearthed secrets.
What could go wrong?

☼☾ ( katherine mcnamara , 28 , she/her , cis woman , stuart 5 ) - have you seen JOANNA STUART?  we’ve heard through the grapevine that they’re GRACEFUL but also IMPATIENT. when you think of them , you think of A BOW AND ARROW CONCEALED UNDER A WARM CLOAK, THE SUN SHINING THROUGH A DEEP GREEN FOREST, AND HANDMADE JEWELRY OUT OF CRYSTALS.
"Mandy, are you playing Katherine McNamara as ANOTHER Scottish Royal?" Yes I am leave me alone jfeowaghawei
Basics:
Name: Joanna Stuart Title: Princess of Scotland Age: 28 Birthday: November 27th (Sagittarius) Sexuality: Heterosexual Marital Status: Betrothed to Reuben Schellenberg Positive Traits: Graceful, creative, persistent, resourceful, intellectual Negative Traits: Impatient, stubborn, trigger-happy, arrogant. Hobbies: Archery, foraging, learning, crafting Family: King Graeme (father), Princess Isolde (sister), Princess Evelyn (sister)
The Story:
Joanna Stuart prides herself on not having much of her life's story be before her, rather than behind her. She grew up as the daughter of a great king, and therefore, she admired him as such. She was smart, in fact too smart for her own good, often times correcting people or offering up another perspective that could either make or break a conversation. It didn't help that she was sneaking into her father's counsel meetings as a young teenager, listening in on every diplomatic, political word. In her schooling, she was a gifted and quick reader and also learned several languages such as French, Italian, German, and, of course, Spanish. Joanna has been betrothed to the second Prince of Spain for as long as she can remember. It took all of her willpower to convince herself that she wasn't simply born and raised for the sole purpose of marriage. Joanna believes there can be more purpose to her than that. For instance, she took up archery as a hobby she can use to protect herself, but often presented it as a party trick to guests as Scottish Court or during their traditional festivals. But her defenses have fallen, her betrothal to Spain broken, and her future now looking to Liechtenstein. Regardless of where she is headed, she will always find a way to rise above those who underestimate her. Yet, fear creeps into the princess's mind about her future, as often as she wants to pretend she is optimistic that she can forge her own way. Now that she does love the man who will be her husband, the future is growing nearer and nearer, unsure if she is prepared for it all. Joanna's loyalty to Scotland and to her family comes first above the rest. It is evident in her father and sisters, and so that is her greatest desire as well. But what she truly wants is to be more promising than a marriage match, perhaps to one day fight for her country. In her spare time, Joanna (grateful for the ability to leave the castle) enjoys horse rides in the forest with her bow and arrow, she also likes learning, and can spend hours crafting little necklaces out of crystals. With her time in the woods, she has also learned how to dabble with poisonous herbs, but there is still room to learn more.
SIMILAR CHARACTERS: Kate Sharma (Bridgerton), Jasmine (Aladdin), Jane (Tarzan), Astrid (How to Train Your Dragon), Elizabeth (Pirates of the Caribbean), Katniss Everdeen (Hunger Games) Merida (Brave).
ESTABLISHED PLOTS:
The Stuart Family. Chaotic and tumultuous, but loyal to their very core. Despite all their oddities, they share all the love in the world for each other. Graeme, her father, is the one she looks up to the most, but she worries for his health and his mind as his seer interferes more and more each days. Isolde, her eldest sister, is her best friend. She is the easiest to talk to, as they share similar secrets all the time. Evelyn, her second sister, is the one who makes her family, and Scotland, proud. Joanna could never hope to be as brave as her.
Reuben Schellenberg. Fiancé. After a masquerade ball ended in tragedy, Joanna met Reuben and they stole away to a trip in the woods, which lead to beginnings of a secret affair that burned to hot to stay hidden, or without true feeling, for very long. As rumors flew about the castle, their relationship came to a heartbreaking end, yet their story was not finished. Her father's spies caught them in one last embrace, and in his anger, made an honest betrothal out of their rebellious behavior. So they must make this torrid affair into a real marriage, but that does not come without its challenges.
Blair Gillies. Family friend. Raised alongside the Stuart sisters, Joanna views the Lord Blair as the closest thing she could ever have to a brother. Despite that, she has often teased him for his closeness with her sister, Evelyn, often predicting their inevitable wedded union. To this day, she still believes they love each other, but now she is not so bold to say it, knowing how they'd both react.
Valentina Markov. Best friend. She stuck out to Joanna upon asking her to dance in the rain in Paris, begging anyone who would listen to just forget the palace for one simple moment. She knew then that Valentina was a friend she wanted to keep around. Her selfish ambitions towards a new husband and crown only made her that much more impressive to her.
Jakob Hölm. Ex-Lover. A year ago, Joanna traveled to Austria for her studies abroad. But she met a kind Prince with a heart of gold and an inclination for archery, same as her. Their affair was for a Summer season, and she almost grew to love him, but when the Queen of Austria caught them, she was banished and forbidden from the relationship. She mourned their time together, but it sharpened her knives, making her much more politically-minded.
WC'S
Conspirators. More advantageous than a marriage, to Joanna, is a political ally. They are gossips, exchanging intel and information to one another for their own gain.
Teacher. Though King Graeme is a wonderful teacher, Joanna is also excited to be in Versailles to learn from kings and queens around her (maybe even steal some of their tactics). If anyone is a master with poisons, they could definitely have something to teach her in that regard, since she is eager to learn more about that.
