Here’s the latest Stemae, featured in my previous video.

Neurotl (Chroma/Neura): The covers on Neurotl's body are smaller when the Neurotl is unwell, causing them to have slower movement. Neurotls can communicate with others through the electrical shocks they send out of their tail.

Myotl (Chroma/Forta): Fully relaxed Myotl arms can stretch out to be pretty long; however some parts are usually contracted. Myotls can understand the secret messages Neurotls communicate through the Neurotls' tails.

Dermotl (Chroma/Phasma): Dermotl's wings are grown from Dermotl's body and they have to be replenished as parts of the wing shed off over time. Dermotls sometimes rip-off their cloaks to protect younger Stemotls.

Osteotl (Chroma/Metalla): Osteotls can make a sturdy home for themselves by spitting out and forming a bone matrix which they can reabsorb if needed. Some reports claim seeing a Myotl throw an Osteotl at an enemy to deter them with Osteotl's spines.

Adipotl (Chroma/Toxa): The sticky covers on Adipotl allow them to stick to each other and various surfaces to block certain passageways. Adipotls can use their storage to generate heat in cold climates, welcoming Stemotls to huddle around them.

Not a new take but !!! I am so !!! Ahhh!! Grumpy about how many shows there are where they’ve clearly been mindful to feature a diverse cast and handle those identities with care and thought and yet— not a single fat main character! Or just one straight sized not-thin character surrounded by thin characters! Who probably isn’t treated the same as their peers!!!

I completely agree that shows that aim for diversity and tackle subjects often not tackled are already bearing the burden of representing the underrepresented. And that representation is inherently fraught. It just makes my bones pop when a show is so clearly trying to consider the underrepresented but fat characters (especially the very fat) are absent.

I was reminded of the time that tumblr tried to make "monster high but with tumblr sexymen", and one of the characters was (obviously) the daughter of the once-ler.

And the funny thing to me about that is that in the canon of the illumination lorax movie, the once-ler is heavily implied to have an estranged daughter. I don't know all the sexymen off the top of my head but I think he might've been one of the only ones referenced in that trend who actually had a daughter in his own canon.

#Stupid shit #I'm gonna provide context in the tags for those who want it but I also like the idea of just leaving it there #Okay so for anyone who wasn't in the fandom: when people say the movie gave us no one to ship the Once-ler with they were LYING #The movie gave the Once-ler no MALE characters to ship him with - thus Oncest started #However - the second most popular Once-ler ship was between him and Norma #(Who - if you haven't seen the movie in a while - is Ted's grandmother who tells him about the Once-ler and how to find and barter with him #This was mostly just a ship born from theory and logical deduction - why does Norma know so much personal info about the Once-ler? #Were they perhaps friends? Lovers? In the past? Where was she in his life and at what points? When did she leave? #And people started making theories and shipping the two - primarily as past lovers. But there was art of them reconnecting for sure. #HOWEVER - this also meant that there was a theory that Ted's mom was also related to the Once-ler #As in - hmm this daughter of a very short fat woman is oddly tall and thin... hmmm #And so the running theory wasn't just that the Once-ler and Norma were once lovers - but that the Once-ler was also Ted's grandfather #Who was entirely estranged from the family due to self-exile and possibly bad blood between him and Norma at some point during his downfall #(I actually do think that it's funny that the Once-ler's youngest design purposefully draws some comparison between him & the Truffula tree #Only for the character theorized to be his daughter to also evoke some Truffula tree imagery in her design) #ANYWAYS that was a theory for about as long as the movie was out - Normaler (the ship) was a thing for as long (if not longer) than Oncest #And was present enough that there were like actively flame wars between the two groups of shippers #Like literally I directly remember this it's so insane to me that no one ever brings this up when talking about the shipping in this fandom #BUT THEN!!!! The Lorax comes out on DVD. The fandom rejoices and everyone takes pictures of themselves buying or holding the DVD. #If you dig far enough and I haven't deleted it yet you might find mine. I was in full cosplay wig and all. #Anyways - we have the movie in HD now!! there are so many reasons fictional characters could and should be fat but they're drawn skinny as a rail for no other reason than people think everyone should be skinny to be loveable.

example: guy who drinks a lot of alcohol, like a whole 6 pack of beer every day, is somehow drawn thin as a rail. that guy should have a beer gut and be as wide as a house. why are you drawing him thin

example: woman who is body positive (especially about fat bodies) and is kinky and loves sex AND loves eating is somehow skinny as a rail despite there being an entire kink fixated on eating a ton of food and another kink around appreciating fat bodies. same woman was raised in an orphanage and is trans, likely had to starve herself (which a prior history of starvation can lead to weight gain) to fit the ideal mold of what a trans person "should" be to be able to transition in the first place but is now leaning into hedonism and "if you don't like me the way i am then fuck you" attitudes. why are you drawing her thin

example: person with impulse control issues who even has a quote about how they eat even when they're full. their parents are also notably fat. somehow despite obvious signs of binge eating disorder and having fat people genes is the same size as most of the average characters of their birth assignment.

EDIT: THOUGHT OF ANOTHER EXAMPLE

example: this guy doesn't do much physical activity given that he's the token non superpowered guy in a group of superpowered people, mostly uses his brain as his "superpower" (he's just really smart lmao) and has a diet consisting of instant ramen and candy. somehow is one of the thinnest characters there.

example: this guy can shapeshift into a huge tiger the size of a 6 foot tall human basically, which would logically require a lot of body fat and calories to sustain without pain, EXTREME amounts of stretch marks, or some sort of chronic fatigue. is even joked about in the manga about having "love handles". eats tons of food because of his history with starvation (another factor in weight gain and fatness is previously being starved as i stated in the second example). SOMEHOW is, according to his stated height and weight, UNDERWEIGHT.

#first character i'm talking about is that cat boy from hazbin (which thankfully i'm never gonna watch) #second character is poison from street fighter #third character is dan hibiki from street fighter #predictably i think a lot of characters from street fighter should realistically be fat. I've been double checking names spelling in Bloodborne, and discovered the possibility that マダラス (Madarasu) could actually refer to Madras (currently Chennai). Like...
