okay but Will asking Bedelia if Hannibal's in love with him... at first i was like, well duh, how did it take you this long to figure out? but then i realised he's asking for confirmation of what he already knows, and having a moment of realisation; not about the fact that Hannibal is in love with him, but about what that means for Will. his response to Bedelia asking but do you ache for him? is everything- the way the question hangs in the air, the last thing we see being his face against a black background with an unchanged expression... it all speaks volumes without him having to say anything at all; yes, despite everything Hannibal has done, Will aches for him. and this is where it hits him that he is never getting out of this, he's never going to be able to go back to how things used to be, and he has an impossible choice to make- he can give in to Hannibal, fully embrace the dark side of himself, and never be able to live a normal life again, or he can kill Hannibal to get his old life back. except he can't do either of those things, because as Bedelia said, Will can't live with him, can't live without him. so in the end, he chooses to throw himself off the cliff with Hannibal; a way for them to be together and end it all at the same time. and so they are forever entwined, whether they live or die.

1: My absolute favorite Echo scene and why I love it so much.

oof that's a hard one.... I feel like I'm choosing the most basic answer by saying their first kiss, but truly that scene is magical. Liz having her crisis of faith and Max reassuring her that he believes in her, that he knows ALL of her, not that he's holding on to an idealized version of her. how satisfying it was to see Liz finally stop running from her feelings and go for it by grabbing Max and blindsiding him with the kiss lol. the way it takes a solid 60 seconds for Max to fully process that the kiss is happening bc up until like 12 hours ago, he'd been convinced Liz hated him and was simply tolerating his presence. the way Max just knows that Liz loves him back because otherwise she wouldn't have done that. Liz asking Max if it was worth the wait as if that didn't just change her whole world too lmao. them giggling about the kiss just to make out more. like. truly what a perfect scene we deserved more of them being giddy and silly :(
