WoL/FFXIV OC Question!!
Kinda, today's a freebie lol
What's one cool/sad/fun/etc. fact about your WoL/OC that you don't get to bring up often, but are just dying to ramble about?
Could be about lore, design details, abilities, anything!

Depression is hitting today, so to put it in it's place!
my WoLQotD is simple:
Tell me something that will never fail to put a smile on your WoLs face. Tell me what makes them the most happy, no matter how trivial!
The last WoLQotD got quite the circulation, so let's see if we can make some positive vibes get that same reach!

Gposes from a WoL QOTD I can no longer link:
What flower would you say best fits your WoL/OC? Would your WoL/OC understand the meaning behind flowers they are gifted or just accept them as they are?
For Kris, I think the blue orchid fits him best, and for Laurent, it's the red orchid.
The blue orchid is often seen as a rare beauty, which makes sense as blue blooms are the rarest flower color. When it comes to floriography, the blue orchid represents uniqueness, rarity, and natural beauty.
Red orchids represent determination, passion, love, and courage. They're often paired with red roses when making a bouquet since the two flowers' meanings are complementary.
In general, I think orchids are beautiful flowers, and their meanings fit the two so well.
Also, if gifted flowers, they'd both recognize the meaning of them--Laurent is well-versed in floriography after all, and Kris learned a fair amount from him. :)

Continuing this series of love-related asks.
ˋ°•*⁀➷ Round 1 Here.
Round 2: cannoli, chouquette, and croissant!
3. cannoli - how does your muse express love? how do they act when in love that differs from how they act around others normally? ─☆─ There's not a terrible lot of difference between how Aeryn treats those she loves and those she doesn't otherwise hold in exceptional regard; and what does differ might be very subtle. Furthermore, I think her powers of observation would be such that she would offer different expressions of affection to everyone she cares about based on their needs and not her own preferences. Aeryn was such a blank canvas as she developed her understanding of how to care that she likewise adopted a variety of different ways to then express that care. Those nearest to her would recognize she is much more open with them: that she possesses a certain comfort level allowing her to more frequently smile (fully and truly), laugh, speak, make prolonged eye contact, and express her core emotions. Those shifts, though subtle, would suggest she feels a stronger connection to anyone paying close enough attention to note the distinction. She also becomes more tactile over time with those she trusts, in particular those who accept and reciprocate. Urianger is not wholly unique in recognizing and learning to speak Aeryn's love language(s), but they do develop certain expressions of habitual affection over time that are largely unique to them: her reaching for and holding the sleeve of his robe is one example, and their forehead touches (I am so weak to them) is another. Those gestures become their own little brand of "romance," but are shared more so as a means of offering comfort and reassurance of affection between two people who are more reserved in their manner. 4. chouquette - does your muse believe they deserve to be loved? why or why not? ─☆─ She's never paused to give it due consideration, but if she did, I think Aeryn would come to the conclusion that she deserves to be cared for just as much as anyone else. She's content in her friendships and her found family, and she doesn't pause to question whether or not she's in any way "deserving" of them. (Honestly, Aeryn spends so long trying to make sure the other Scions - I'm thinking especially of Thancred here - know they deserve to be cared for that I can't fathom her feeling differently regarding herself.) That said, in my unwilling paladin AU, Aeryn has some very unhealthy views of herself and does develop a stigma of this nature. Because she doesn't feel worthy of anyone's partiality, she actually runs from her budding affections and doesn't take the time to sort them out, let alone act on them. I haven't resolved her story, yet, and don't know if she'd ever accept any love she might be offered. 5. croissant - what is your muse's ideal date? ─☆─ Anything that isn't a date. If any kind of title or expectation was placed on a moment spent together with the people she cares about, she would likely clam up out of confusion. I'm thinking about dinner with Aymeric as an example, here - Aeryn wouldn't have thought anything of it at all until others started making a fuss about it being some sort of big deal, and that would have thrown her off so completely that she might not have known how to act once in the midst of it. She's fortunate that she chose to give her affection to someone as equally content to find enjoyment in their ordinary routine as she is. Aerinager "dates" are just them doing as they've always done: sitting together while one sketches and the other studies, stargazing, etc.

10. What energizes and drains them most?
14. What do they care deeply about? What kind of loyalties, commitments, moral codes, life philosophies, passions, callings, or spirituality and faith do they have? How do these tend to be expressed
22. How do people respond to them, and why might these responses differ?
I think these are the ones I wanted to ask??? 😄
10. Nightingale is a child of the Shroud through and through. They struggle hard to sleep indoors, and find being cooped up draining of their energy. They'd much rather be out in nature, feeling the flow of the land's aether and attuning to the natural world around them. Though the do have a house in Kugane, they exclusively sleep in their front yard.
22. This varies by the person. Most people will treat them like a skilled and experienced adventurer, and tend to be treated as such when on Guild jobs under the name Sami'a. To their enemies, they are the Green Eyed Demon. A heartless monster who can appear at any time and leave nothing but ash in their wake.
The most extreme reaction they tend to get are from scholars who recognize them as the WoL. Nightingale is barely literate, and shows no interest in improving their reading and writing abilities. As a Keeper who had a traditional upbringing, they value oral traditions much more than the written one. This is a point of mild consternation between them and the Scions, but by now they've come to accept it and take their own notes where they can.

WolQotD
oftentimes I'll get on Tumblr, eager to make a WoLQotD only to find a similar question has already been posed, or one damn near close enough that the answer wouldn't be any different. Not that it's a bad thing mind you, not everyone will see post A and will be glad to answer the same question in post B and therefore you'll have someone answering the question for the first time! but it does still keep me from posting some QotD's I've had.
also life is busy sometimes and finding time to make a post sometimes just isn't a thing I can do, but that's neither here nor there.
what IS here, however is a WoLQotD that some people might find interesting.
A few people I've spoken with in the past have expressed an interesting difference of opinion on how quickly the events of MSQ take place- some perceive it as quickly paced and all occur within months, some- myself included- perceive the story as being presented much quicker in-game but faaaaaaar more drawn-out in actuality. I'll get to the why's and wherefores in a reblog later, but now I pose to you, oh lovely followers mine;
How do you perceive the flow of time in MSQ, does it move quickly with little to no downtime in between story beats? or does everything move much slower in your eyes, a slowly winding story with ample time to dwell on each event before another turns its head?
and more importantly- how does this affect your WoL? do they try to take the time in between beats to make a life for themselves? do they have their own adventures that aren't grounded in the XIV story in this time? or are they swept along the torrential rapids of the story, whisked from one event to the next, never getting a moment to breathe before jumping back into the fire?
or maybe you're somewhere in that area in-between? a fast-paced story but with some time to stop and smell the flowers?
let me know! I'm eager to hear more opinions about it!!

because my own OC thoughts are hopelessly brainrotted towards my ship i have a WoL question for everyone reading
when was the first canon time your ship had those feelings of love?
when did they first look at their partner and realise their heart skipped a beat? or their cheeks flushed red? or even just a simple day brighten whenever they saw them?
(i'd especially like to see any quibits of writing of that scene. for those of us who write)

Well, for multiple Twitter reasons, some not even localized to exceeded rate limits, I feel the need to make this.
Hi, I’m DB, AKA the very model of a modern village idiot, and this account will be primarily dedicated to FF14. Most specifically my main OC, Frederick Makalt.
Tumblr media
Along with his half-Garlean wife Erranea, their twin kids Broil and Valour, and the twins’ own party, The Echoes of Light (though only half the characters within it are my own)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’ll also be answering QotDs, sometimes in character, probably with myself as narrator most of the time <_<
Regardless, I hope you enjoy. Or don’t, that’s fine too. You don’t need my permission to be a hater, I’m not your Mothercrystal.
