Fabulous lunch.
Packed with vitamins, minerals, fibre, healthy fat/carbs/protein.
Utterly delicious.
Tuna in a wholemeal wrap with cottage cheese, apple, kiwi, tomato and radish.
Please don't ever try to tell me that healthy food is tasteless and boring.

Don't be afraid of changing your routine.
Don't be scared of forming new habits.
Your comfort zone is a cheat.
It's lying to you.
You know what should scare you?
Refusal to change.
Being stuck where you are.
Go for it.
Move.
Learn.
Grow.

It doesn't have to be pretty and perfectly arranged to be absolutely delicious!
Egg mayo and ham on dark rye ryvita. Coleslaw. Spring onion, cucumber radish, lettuce and home grown parsnip leaves.
Lunch is served.

Food is not the enemy.
Carbs are not evil.
Fat won't ruin your shape.
Calories aren't out to get you.
Food is fuel.
Carbs are energy.
Fat makes everything work better.
Calories provide nourishment.
But......
Choose health.
Swap the junk for good quality options.
Eat natural, wholesome, unprocessed food.
And you will see and feel the difference!

I was planning to start with the cardio workout this morning, but my blood sugars (yawn) had other ideas
So pure strength it is.
One of my own routines that I've done before.
Feels good to really work those muscles!

Anything that gets you moving is worth it.
Be willing to take an occasional step backwards.
Consistency beats perfection.
Determination is half the battle.
Everyone is different.
Failure is often a step towards success.
Giving your all will look different every day.
Health is a lifelong journey.
If it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't right.
Just keep trying.
Know your limits, strengths and weaknesses and work with them.
Live your life as though it matters.
Move every...single...day.
Never give up.
Open your mind to different activities.
Practice makes progress, not perfection.
Quietly work towards your goal.
Remember how you felt before you started.
Show yourself what you're made of!
Take your time, but USE that time.
Understand that anything worthwhile takes a little work.
Value your efforts, your potential and yourSELF.
Work, rest and play.
Make a choice - X as in eXercise, or X as in eXcuses.
You only have this one life, so make it a happy, vibrant, healthy one!
Zero in on what your body actually needs!

I wanted to train my muscles a little harder.
I always use my cute little pair of 3kg weights for every workout, which work perfectly for maintaining my shape, fitness and endurance. But I decided to up it a bit just for today.
These are 7.75kg each (the plates on each side equal 6kg, plus the bar weighs 1.75kg). So instead of that usual combined weight of 6kg, I worked with 15.5kg for this one on most of the moves.
I used the little ones on the triceps and a set of russian twists.
It felt great!
Going to head back to bed for an hour. I'm almost definitely just going to lie there waiting for 7 o'clock so I can wake him up with a cup of tea to drink in bed, lol, but that's ok.

It does my heart good to see a full fruit bowl!
Plus there are other fruits in the fridge.
Grocery day today, which means more fresh food to see us through another week of health, nutrition and wonderfully natural taste.

Today is the busiest day this week.
Cleaning shift, on to the gym for LBT, on to another gym for another LBT, then to the other cleaning shift.
All four places are in different directions, so that's a good distance on the bike.
I get to the first gym an hour early, so I'll read my book for half an hour and have my banana. Then I'll do a workout before the class.
So all of that means I'm out of the house for ten hours altogether.
Which means I need to pack some fuel!
My main snack today is shredded ham, coleslaw, grapes and tomato. With obligatory black pepper.
And I also have a hard boiled egg, a banana and my flask of decaff.
All in my bag now, so I'm prepared for the long, very active day ahead!
And now, my delicious porridge with my daily cup of green tea. Excellent way to fuel up before I do any of that!

Oh, and it's raining pretty heavily. That always makes it more fun out there on the roads 😂.
Friday, I'm ready for you!

Not much point in doing my daily report.
About 8 miles on the bike and two short workouts back to back this morning.
Fasting until tomorrow late morning and no calories. Well, some coconut milk in a few drinks during the day but nothing worth counting.
A long, busy, tiring Friday. Looking forward to finishing work tomorrow and enjoying the rest of the weekend until I'm back to it again on Monday.

Thinking more about these symptoms that have been plaguing me for at least several months now.
Constantly trying to clear excess mucus from my throat. Yeah I know. Gross, right? But this blog is about my physical health in every capacity.
So I thought it was dairy. Apparently not.
Then I came to realise that the times it hits the most severely is when I'm not fasting.
When I'm eating lots of food with no time restrictions, including the spaces in between.
As much as it hurts to say this, I think I need at least a month where I don't have this weekly break.
Another negative impact of these days off is the trigger to go back into obsessive binge mode. As aggravating as the other more physical symptoms are, this one is far more serious for me.
Fasting takes that away. I have to recognise that problem and do whatever I can to kill it.
Fasting does that.
So today is my final regular "free day".
That's a funny word to use. Right now, when I'm full of food, lethargic and feeling out of control, that's the opposite of freedom.
Yes I'm getting a bit serious now. But that's how it feels.
I'm not saying I'll never take a fasting break. That's not at all realistic or practical. But from now on they won't be regular or planned as they have been.
I've been trying hard to fix myself over the past few years. This is just one more thing I feel I need to do.

Nope. I don't want to deal with any more of today, lol.
I haven't felt this dreadful in a very long time.
But I'm determined to get to work tomorrow, and I want to at least try get through my weekly extended fast. It will be much easier once I get to tomorrow morning, as I'll be busy through a lot of the day.
At the moment I'm sitting here in a terrible mood with nothing to distract me.
And I just want to feel better.
So I've put a fitness plan together for tomorrow. No pressure though. If I'm still too unwell, it might not happen.
Anyway, I'm signing off. This poorly, grumpy old boot needs to go hide under the covers and ignore the world until the morning.......
