Well, it seems we're not getting a canon name! I guess she's our daughter now. I haven't decided whether I'm going to maintain this list going forward (though for my own sanity I'm leaning towards no) but at least it's fully up to date as of 7:30 pm est today (May 31, 2023).

Some "final" statistics: The numbers aren’t perfect, because there were a few names I grouped together and probably should have counted separately, and a few names I counted separately and probably should have grouped together, and those may or may not have balanced out, but keeping that in mind, about 110 names were used! About 49 were used in multiple fics (including individual installments in several series) and about 35 of those were used by multiple authors. Trent’s daughter has been mentioned by name in about 298 fics by 149 authors. gossip girl reboot 2x07 spoilers below !

i feel so bad for monet yall. she was upgraded to main character for maybe 3 episodes and now shes being treated like dirt. everyone of the main cast has had a or multiple love interest(s), and all shes gotten is a queerbaiter ?? seriously ??

and DONT even get me started on her mom. i liked the notion of monet getting her cutthroatness from her mom, and i was excited to see them as a mother daughter duo with flaws of course. but camille just...replacing monet with zoya is cruel, and even crueller when she criticizes monets actions when girl YOU are the parent, YOU are what shes influenced by !!!

luna is still barely a side character who we know nothing about and just gives the others advice. not much else to say really.

dont even get me started on julien and audrey. i went from disliking julien and liking audrey to way the opposite in a WEEK 😭 audrey is making no sense to me. first she wants to reconnect with her dad and his mistress, gets mad when julien calls them out and says maybe they really are in love and seemed to believe julianna (the mistress idk her name) when she said they didnt cheat, gets mad when gg posts a most likely fake email that julien sent to her dad saying she saw them, then gets even more mad when julien tries to talk to the girl to get the truth and gets manipulated. this is on audrey to me because i would not trust the man and woman who so thoroughly broke my mother down like we saw kiki at the start of season 1.

i hope georgina and kate both go to jail im so sick of seeing them yall i stg.

obies storyline is still so....fucking boring and hes do disconnected from the group the contrast to his scenes is so jarring. and i saw him trying to flirt with julien like PLEASE dont try her after you got mad at HER because she exposed ur lil girlfriend was a brother fucker.

i feel like the way it went down was her, julien, audrey, and luna talking about guys and monet being like “not a fan of those.” “what about girls?” “i’m not not a fan of those.” not even saying the word lesbian or gay (because she might not be there yet. like i remember my first time coming out i couldn’t bring myself to say those words) but just casually stating she’s not into guys only if it’s brought up. and because she enjoys being social, she will add to the conversation.

and is monet out to her mother? she does technically have to be out to most of her peers to be able to do flings from time to time. and i assume her parents would know max’s, who are gay dads. generally i think camille would be an accepting mom if she knew monet was a lesbian. and i think monet knows that, but just isn’t ready to come out to her because of how vulnerable coming out actually is.

i would enjoy a reverse of the whole eric/lily thing where monet isn’t outed to her mother by gossip girl or The New Georgina, but monet comes out on her own terms. not because she’s ashamed of what her mom will think of her sexuality, but because she isn’t someone who wants others to make a big deal out of it and because the process of coming out, even to those you know are accepting, is an emotionally taxing one. and monet is not used to showing her emotions.

i also wanna see more of the monet/camille mother daughter dynamic bc it is clear camille loves and cares for monet seeing as she was fuming when she heard about the teachers being gossip girl, and how it would’ve affected monet had there been a blast on her. more scenes of them together PLEASE

Max was pretty abandoned and third-wheel-y trying to please Aki and Audrey, but it expectedly didn't result in a breakup. Waiting if it plays another way closer to the season's end; if no, then it's a loss. I am 90% sure the throuple will fall apart, it's just trying to guess HOW it will happen
