The Glo-Ball embodies a beautifully simple orb-like form, gracefully emitting light in all directions to create an ambient setting. Designed by Jasper Morrison in 1998, the Glo-Ball remains one of Flos' most popular collections due to its versatility. The opal glass shade diffuses the light with ease, creating a warm illuminating glow appropriate for a range of settings. Function great as a standalone or in a cluster the Glo-Ball has a variety of sizes available. Elegantly hanging from the ceiling, it creates the illusion as it is floating in the air like a cloud... https://olsonbaker.com/product/flos-glo-ball-pendant-light/ #floslightingtrack #floslighting #flostablelamp #flosgloball #floswalllight #arcofloorlamp #flosstarck #michaelanastassiades #Castiglioni https://www.instagram.com/p/CkxioVPoLEG/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

The Studio.
The only sound coming from the room was charcoal against paper. I could feel the intensity of my gaze as I worked, brown orbs begging for a blink. I’d been at it for days now, stopping only to change mediums. Pencils to oil paints to water colors to matches to charcoal. Over and over and over again.
I hadn’t even stopped to drink, to feed. It was an all consuming obsession, trying to get these thoughts free from my head. No, thoughts wasn’t the right word. Images.
I’d awoken in a blood sweat in the middle of the night, a pain unlike I’d ever known clutching at my very soul. The loss of my son, my husband over five hundred years ago was always fresh on my mind, but this was different, this pain. I had immediately pushed out of the bed, Niklaus’ side empty as it had been for a few weeks now.
Sebastian and Chew lifted their heads from their beds as I walked by, but it’s like they understood. I needed to be alone. The tears that threatened to fall as my bare feet padded along the stone floor. My fingers curled into my palms, nails biting so hard against my skin that blood dripped down, leaving a trail. I hadn’t even known where I was going until I was there.
I pulled open the door to the studio, stepping in. I didn’t bother turning on any lights, enjoying the way the darkness of the room enveloped me. The way the cool, crisp air hugged into me as if it could ease the pain in my chest. I wished it could. I wished it could wrap around my heart and squeeze until no other memory of pain remained except that.
The moon shone in through the glass floor to ceiling window. It had been built specifically to let the light shine in, helping to dry the paints. I swallowed thickly, the knot in my throat tight. I don’t think I could speak if I tried.
With the lights off, I picked up a large canvas, sliding it over the ground and picking up my hair. Too many images, too much pain. I had to get them out.
And that’s how I’d been here for most of the day, no breaks. Nothing. My skin was pale, my eyes were wide, devoid of color.
I set the last sketch down, fingers tracing the beautiful face. My partner, my love. Niklaus.
Paintings of the ones I held close to me all around. Niklaus, Alicena, Damon. Paintings of them in their most vulnerable around me, drawings of their faces, sketches of the curves of their bodies, wolves and buildings in Paris, fires and blood, things that were haunting my nightmares.
I stepped out and closed the door behind me, Sebastian and Chew already waiting for me. I smiled down at them, leaning down to pick them both up in my arms. “Ah, Thesan t'a-t-il nourri pendant que j'étais parti?”
I pressed a kiss to their heads, sighing quietly. “Its time for mum to eat. Or I’m sure to pass out soon.”
I set them down, changing out of my pajamas, skin covered in paint. I was hungry. And while the images were gone, the pain in my chest remained. And as I stepped out of the home I shared with Niklaus, I knew.
It would never really go away.

Prompt: you've been accepted into a prostigouse school for magical people. However you keep your true identity secret and your classmates end up guessing what it is your hiding.
Forbidden studies.
Dear Mr warnikle,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to morose academy of magics. Here you will be trained in the magical arts and human studies among your peers. Students as gifted as yourself shall receive the best education in the entire world and Excell in any field of your choosing.
Classes begin on August 7th and dorm assignments with be given upon arrival. We look forward to receiving you and integrating you into arcanin society.
Warmest regards,
Headmaster Hingard ulfrick.
"By the God's.... MOM!!! MOM COME QUICK" I scream out barely able to contain my excitement.
"What Rex? Whats so important youd risk waking your baby sister? " mom asks as she turns the corner into the foyer.
"Mom look!" I hand over the letter as i trying to contain myself.
She wipes her hands off on her apron and cautiously takes it from my hand. As she reads I start bouncing up and down like a kid who's about to get candy.
She finishes and slowly looks up from the paper eyes wide open and slowly reciting the last part. I'm so giddy that it's agony waiting for her response.
She slowly turns to me clearly shocked.
"AAAAAAHHHHHHA HA HA HA!!!!"
She throws her arms over me as we both scream for joy.
"Morose!! My son is going to morose!" She yells.
"Just wait till everyone in the village hears ha ha. My son is going to the most prestigious academies in the world! ....Woo!.....I'm so proud of you rexell." She finishes with a kiss on my forehead.
She hands back the letter before going into the back of the house to tend to Yara who is crying now.
That night when dad got home we told him the good news and he had close to the same reaction.
" way to go Rex!" He says with a sniff and grinning from ear to ear.
" I'll take you to the station in the mornin but for now...we celebrate!" He shouts standing to raise a glass nearly knocking the diner table over.
After dinner I decide it best to go to bed, after all tomorrow's going to be a long day. Soon after I lay down mom knocks as she opens by door. She stroles into my room with a gift in hand.
"Here Rex this will help you conceal and blend in perfectly with humans so you won't have any trouble while you gone." She reaches out to hand me a small clear saphire pendant.
I reach out my hand and she begins to tie the delicate silver cord around my wrist. I can't help but stare at the brilliant shine the teardrop shape gives off. Within a minute i start to feel tingly and watch as my bulky arm starts to shrink and fur recedes. Soon everything in my room begins to look bigger. she holds up a mirror to show a dark haired, light skinned human jock.
" your great grandmother gave this to me when I was your age. ..its a concealing charm. She wanted me to see the world... i left home and traveled across the country before i met your father and settled here." She smiles as she lays her hand over the bracelet.
"Thanks mom. " i smile as we lean into a warm hug.
the next morning dad and i leave for the station; a large building at the edge of town with three large stone archways. as i approach a large clear orb sitting at the center of the platform i look back as i reach out to touch the orb. Dads trying to keep it together and i know hes worried about me but he just looks at me and flashes a smile. when my hand makes contact with the orb it turns from clear to a faint green indicating its redy to receive the destination. i call out morose academy and watch as the orb goes from green to displaying what looks like the main grounds of the univeritsy. i snap my attention to the archway that has gone from just a normal arch to a swirling white light to the grounds displayed in the orb. i start to walk to the arch; i look back to my dad who is trying to hold himself back from running but fails; bursting into a sprint as he rushes to hug me before leaving.
" be careful out there Rex. that world is not like our little village...." he warns squeezing me tight.
i look up to my dad in confusion then remember that our people have been ostracized for generations. thanks to myths and legends spread by humans, even the magical community thinks of us as monsters. its taken a long time to make it this far, the deals my parents had to make for me and a few others to even get an education let alone apply for such a prostigouse school like morose.
so many sacrafices had to be made, and lies to be told for this moment to even be possible. after i graduated I began applying to many schools but was rejected due to safety concerns for both the students and myself. After so many rejections I thought to apply as a human; getting the concealing stone was something I could figure out later.
now here i am disguised as a human wizard, a wand in hand that will chanel my natural abilites to aid in the illusion.
i squeeze him back just as hard telling him i love him and not to worry. we break apart and i walk through the portal. within seconds i step out onto lush green grass, bathed in the warm sun. i take a deep breath and fall into the serenity of variouse flora wishing the village was this magnificent. soon after my arrival i was given my dorm room and informed that id be sharing with two others students matthew ofsten, and richard mikko.
On my walk to the dorms I took note of all the other students I saw walking the grounds; split into various groups some of which stood around a budding musician playing a guitar. Others were either talking, playing games, and even a typical jock group tossing a football. Sure there were some that were giants, some elves, and some with wings or horns. One thing they all have in common is their human-ish appearance.
I clutch the pendant hanging on my wrist to remind myself that I only look human as I hasten my pace to the dorms. I fumble with the keys just wanting in the room so I can be myself even if for only a moment.
As the door swings open the unmistakable scent of sweat and aftershave assaults my nose. Sadly my appearance is the only thing this damn amulet alters. I attempt to stop myself from covering my nose as a tall gangly blonde man walks out of the bathroom. A trail of mist being the only thing covering his waist as he turns to face me.
"Shit!" He cries as he frantically tries to cover himself with his hands.
He quickly grabs his wand off the table next to the door and rapidly waves it from his knees to his head. I watch as the scrawny naked man materializes clothes In mere seconds. I've only been away from home for less than an hour and I've already seen things I can't un-see.
"H-hi I'm matthew. Uh.... sorry I." He turns red as he walks closer to shake my hand.
"Rexell...but everyone just calls me rex." I respond cocking my eyebrow.
I reach out to shake in utter shock from the display I just witnessed. Never seeing magic used in such a way let alone another male nude.
"You...uh just missed rich haha. I think he went out to play his guitar out in the courtyard." Matt says.
I make my way past Matt and place my bag on one of the four beds closest to the window. I look around the plain white room; there's a small kitchenette on the same wall as four identical small closets meant to be our lockers.
"So.... where are you from roomie?" Matt asks sitting on the bed beside me.
I pause for a moment contemplating on how specific I should be.
" a small town in the cascade mountains."
I decide it's best to remain vague for now. There're so many towns and cities it'd be hard for him to figure out anything specific. Matt just looks at me skeptically though as I look out the window.
"So what are you here to study? If you don't mind my asking." He questioned.
"OH. Um... " I snap my attention back to Matt.
" I want to study cryptobiology and specialize in botanical/magical medicine." I reply.
Matt looks at me much like many of the villagers did when I told them: confusion.
"So you want to be a vet?" he asks a bit condescendingly.
Despite the irritation of what I had said being dumbed down to a simple term; I instead give a slight chuckle.
"Heh... yeah. A vet is one way to sum it up." I say as I force a smile.
I look to Matt who now has a look of concern most likely caused by my forced expression. He just looks down to the side of his bed. Almost like he's trying to think of a way to re-word what he had said.
" So what about you?" I ask trying to break the tension.
Matt looks up and just as hes about to speak the door swings open. In walks a tall muscular man with bronze skin and dark brown hair clutching the neck of a guitar in hand. He shuffles over to the bed Matt's sitting on and flops down. The sound of his guitar making a heavy fluff onto the bed adjacent to them.
"Bro these chick's just won't leave me be! Every time I try to practice people come out of the woodwork and start demanding songs." He blurts out. His deep throaty voice muffled by the pillow his face is shoved into.
Matt elbows him in the side. With a grunted giggle the man looks up as Matt noddes his head in my direction.
"OH! Where are my manners? Names Rich." He grunts out.
We shake hands as Matt gets the conversation back on track.
"As I was saying." Matt grumbles out as he shoots a glare at richard.
"I'm studying architecture and sculpting." He says proudly.
I can't help but look at him and think how difficult it would be for someone as....weakly built as Matt building houses. Then I remember that most of the time his people would use magic for most of the hard labor. I have to remind myself that not everywhere is like home, watching houses and barns go up over a few weeks with brute strength alone.
"I'm here to learn to integrate magic with the art of music." Richard pipes up.
"So... Rex was it? Where are you from? Someone of your size, build and stature ...im guessing your from a beast wrangler or bounty hunter clan right?" Richard chuckles out.
I try to contain my self as Matt gives another jab, this time harder making rich yelp just a bit. I look down to my hands which are slowly coming un-clenched and see the amulet more on display. I try to covertly move my wrist to hide it before they see it and start asking questions.
My gaze shifts back to Matt and rich just in time to see the two of them snap their eyes away from my hands. My heart starts to pound thinking they've seen it and now suspect somethings up. I couldn't have been more obvious I was hiding something if I tried.
"I-im from a small town in the cascade mountains." I stammer.
Matt and richard glance at each other then back to me. Did they see it? So what if they did...its not like it's out of the ordinary for someone to have. I think to myself as my face grows warmer prompting me to stand and turn back towards the window. Just wanting to get unpacked and settled in.
After a month things were going really well, Matt, rich and I quickly became best friends. My classes were challenging to say the least but matt helped me as best he could. Rich even set me up on a blind date for tonight when he heard I'd never gone out with someone before.
Unfortunately my biology class had us elbow deep in some kind of slim leaving me a bit... pungent. Luckily the room was empty releaving me of the poor jokes about my current smell. I rush to the shower and turn the hot water on filling the room with a thick fog. As the hot water runs down my back, washing away the horrid smell of formaldehyde and slim I start thinking about my date.
I tell myself to take it easy and go with the flow rather than focus on what could go wrong. I step out of the shower blindly searching for my towel in the fog. I wrap it around my waist and check to make sure the amulet is still tightly knotted. As I walk out of the bathroom I notice Matt and Rich both sitting on the bed play a game on the small TV Matt keeps in his locker.
The two look to me as steam rolls out of the doorway, making me look like captain America after he had been changed by the super soldier serum. I walk past to my locker and start to get dressed for the date.
"So uhhhh.... how come your still wearing the concealing charm bro? I've never seen anyone wear one this long before. " richard asks.
I look at them in confusion, forgetting that they haven't asked about it since we met.
"It's OK Rex you don't have to tell us if you dont want to.... DOES HE RICHARD! " Matt yells sternly stricking the final blow in the game causing rich to throw his hands In the air in defeat.
"Sure man." Rich exclaims.
" just hope you ain't a vampire or werewolf sorta thing." He adds with a smirk.
I roll my eyes ignoring rich as Matt rolls over toppling the two to the floor as they wrestle. It's become something of a weekly thing for the both of them to thrash about the room coming to a stop whenever they near my space. This time however was different, just as im spritzing myself with cologne Matt is rolled under my bed.
I swiftly turn on my heals when he calls out to us as he crawls out holding a mess of thick grey fur. My heart begins to pound as they both begin to analyze Matt's findings. I start to panic as I think back to the time both Matt and rich had gone home for the weekend. I took the opportunity to cram for a biology test in comfort so I locked the door and drew the blinds before taking off the amulet.
I thought I had cleaned everywhere, taken every precaution, and covered all my bases. They both look at me coming to the conclusion it belongs to me.
"Dude!.... it all makes sense now! The concealing charm, evasive tendencies, no girlfriend, and now grey fur clumps!!!! Your a werewolf aren't you!! " Rich shouts.
My heart begins to pound so hard I think it's about to burst from my chest. I start to look at the door barely able to hear Matt chastise rich as I bolt for any kind of escape fearing the worst.
"REX WAIT!! HES JUST AN IDIOT, HE DIDNT MEAN ANYTHING!" Matt screams as he runs down the hall with rich in tow.
"This can't be happening.... I messed up big time! " I think to myself.
I run through the courtyard and passed a group of students in a study circle. The sounds of chatter about why someone so large and muscular is running and from what. Some of them start talking about following in case it's a fight nobody would want to miss.
I can hear Matt breathing heavily as he tries to catch up. Desperately trying not to pass out as if he'd never ran before in his life. Things only get worse as I look back to see a small crowd start to form behind Matt and rich. Just as I turn my attention back to where I'm going.
CRASH!!!!
I'm knocked flat on my ass rubbing my head as I look up to see a tall broad frame with long black hair. The figure turns around and looks down to me as she flips her hair to the side.
"Hey watch it shrimp!" She yells.
I jump to my feet before she can say anymore just as the group catches up to me. Before I can run again the giantess and I are surrounded as the crowd chants.
"Fight! fight! fight!"
Bunch of bloodthirsty savages. I think as I feel myself lifting off the ground as she lifts me up effortlessly.
" you wanna go stick-twiddler?" She roars as i shake my head no.
"Rex!" Matt and rich cry out as they shove their way through the crowd.
"This'll teach you to look where your going!" She growles as she yeets me towards the crowd.
I soar through the air landing on my back smashing onto something squishy and needle-like. A sharp pain races down my spin when the back of my head crashes onto something hard. I try to get up as the crowd starts clamoring, calling me weak and pathetic. Matt and rich rush to my side and manage to lift me up as the giantess stomps her way towards us.
"Step aside twig mage. Unless you want your ass kicked to." She huffs.
Both Matt and rich stand between us. Neither budging as two girls fight their way through. a short brunette stands with Matt and rich while the other girl manages to help me to my feet. dispite being dwarfed by my size she's able to steady us both as my body grows numb and my vision becomes fuzzy.
"Back off Gabby. You can't take us all." She shouts.
i watch the giantess just scoff and turn to leave as i grow tired struggling to keep my balance. When I wake I find myself back in the dorm. Matt, rich, and the two girls standing around chatting as they sit by my side. as i grumble the brunette walks over and sits by my side and lays her hand on my head to check my temperature.
"Fevers down...how you feelin handsome?" she asks with a slight sweet souther drawl.
i just grumble a bit more as she gazes into my eyes as if trying to read my thoughts. she turns back to the others and asks them to give us some privace. as the three turn to leave i hear rich make a comment wishing this hadn't happened and that id be OK. as the door jostles shut she turns her attention back to me. i watch as she moves her hand to check the wounds on my arm; all i remember is being thrown but by the looks of my bandages i must have hit more than just the courtyard grass.
"well looks like gabby tossed you into the jeweled succulant patch." she remarks answering the unspoken question.
she looks at me as she explains that the cuts were deep and some of the plants are poisonouse. Which explains why I passed out so quickly.
" shoulda takin ya to the infermary but yer buddies insisted on bringing ya back here. lucky for you my sister and i are med students. names maryanna by the way and my sis's katlynn but you sugar can call me mary." she jokes with a wink.
"so whats big strong man such as yerself runnin from those two sticks for? " she asks as she places a cool cloth on my forehead.
i explain that i was running late for a date when in got flustered and paniced. mary just looks at me and smiles, when she looks down to my right hand and catches a glimpse of the amulet just as i turn my wrist over it.
" well this makes for an interestin first date huh?" She giggles making me blush a bit.
"Considerin thats a concealin charm, and your not exactly hidin lookin like a modern day Hercules. I have to wonder whats really bein locked away?" she asks glancing down at my wrist. I turn my head away as I look towards the window again.
" ah... ya know your not the only one here with secrets." she whispers as she lifts her arm to show me a small tattoo of three spirals connecting into one on the inside of her wrist.
" this heres the mark of the changelings." she says as she covers the tattoo back up.
" Rex..." she looks at me intently as our eyes lock.
" my sister and i are shapeshifters. Forced to hide because our kind is looked down upon like we're lesser beings and cant be trusted." mary mutters as she looks down then back to me.
"Rex what ever your hidin; you dont have to do it alone. i know we just met and you don't know me or my sister...but i hope this leap of faith will help you trust at least me." she chimed placing her hand on mine.
i look in her eyes, getting lost in the shimmering greens and browns. with a heavy sigh i close my eyes and reach for the amulet. i start to untie the braided silver cord as mary sits at my side holding my arm. I think to all the negative stories I've heard about changelings and all the stereotypes that follow; disloyal, deceptive, cold and cowardly.
Then there is the propaganda discribing my people as vicious , bloodthirsty monsters and treating us like outcasts. I put that all aside and decide to go through with it and trust mary. After all she seems to like me enough to accept a date even after watching me get yeeted like a sac of potatoes.
As the cord comes loose I grasp the jewel tightly as I look back to mary.
"Promise you won't run?" I plead.
"I promise." She replies placing both hands on my arm and smiles lovingly.
Just as I let the amulet drop to the bed the door swings open. Rich and katlynn come rushing in as Matt claims to have tried everything to keep the other two out. he closes the door and turns the lock before joining everyone else.
"Bro are you gonna transform or something?" Rich cries excitedly.
I just stare blankly at him before Matt and katlynn chime in making guesses as to what the charm was hiding.
" I bet hes got a big bushy tail and ears." Matt calls out.
"No he's got horns and big scary wings!" Rich exclaims almost excited in hopes of being right.
"Ooooh! What if hes a big sexy musclar dragon!" Katlynn remarks jumping up and down while clapping her hands.
Mary stares down her sister who starts to fizzle down after realizing what she had said. I feel the magic start to wear off when my skin starts to feel itchy. I look back to mary as we catch each others eyes again. She watches as they fade from a grayish green overtaken by ice blue. the bed I'm laying on begins to creak as the room grows smaller. I sit up so I don't break the bed when I reach my full 7' 11" and 430lbs of pure muscle. Everyone marvels at my suddenly growth spurt as thick short grey and white spotted fur carpets every inch of my skin.
Finally I feel like myself. Where a six foot bulky white man stood is now an almost eight foot tall muscular anthrian snow leopard.
"HOLY SHIT MAN!" Rich exclaims.
Mary and the others continue to look at me in awe as my expressing fades from "TADA!" to one of worry. I sit on the edge of the bed starting to think this was a bad idea. I close my eyes as my head starts to sink low. I hear mary walk up to me and gently cups my head in her hands to pull me tward her.
I feel something warm press against my nose and lips. When I open my eyes and watch as the short dainty looking brunette grows and morphs into a slim yet fit female snow leopard.
"Your not alone Rex... we can do this together if you want me to" she says before I lean to kiss her in response.
She pulls me closer wrapping me in her arms as we lean back on the bed. our lips locked and enjoying the sensation of the budding romance we find ourselves in. We stop our progression when one of the three clears their throat reminding us that we're not alone.

How Details Can Transform Ordinary Bathrooms Into Luxurious Bathrooms
You can transform a plain bathroom into a luxurious space by using details. These can range from marble finishes to crystal chandeliers, from open showers to wall-mounted fireplaces. These small additions can give a room an extra boost of style. However, it is important to remember that they don’t have to be expensive or overly ornate.
Crystal chandeliers
Luxury bathrooms are a good place to introduce crystal chandeliers. Bathrooms are relatively simple to incorporate these lighting fixtures, though they must be UL listed for damp spaces, as they will be exposed to water. When choosing a bathroom chandelier, keep in mind the size and style of the room. Large chandeliers will add impact to the room, while smaller chandeliers will be more subtle.
If you have a freestanding bathtub, consider hanging a chandelier over it. The look will be more harmonious. Or, you can use a series of pendant lights. You can also group these lights together to create a chandelier-like look. Similarly, if you want to add a traditional chandelier style in your bathroom, you should consider a metal orb hung over the bathtub.
A luxurious bathroom needs a well-lit room. While natural lighting is always the most beneficial source of light, a unique chandelier can help supplement the natural lighting. Many people don’t feel comfortable experimenting with color in the bathroom, but adding a colorful crystal chandelier can help change that perception.
Marble finishes
When designing a bathroom, you may want to consider the use of marble finishes. Marble is a natural material and therefore will require extra care and maintenance to keep it in pristine condition. But with proper sealing and care, marble finishes can last for decades. Whether you use marble floors or walls, you’ll be able to enjoy the luxurious look of marble for years to come.
Marble is a classic material known for its timeless elegance and cosmopolitan appeal. Installing marble tiles in your bathroom or shower is a great way to give the space an alluring effect. The elegant veining and color gradients, along with the smooth polished surface, make marble tiles a fantastic choice for bathrooms. You can also choose between honed or polished finishes. Honed finishes hide any water marks and are less slippery when wet than polished ones.
Marble is also water-resistant. However, it can be quite costly to install marble slabs in your bathroom. You may want to opt for a more affordable alternative such as ceramic or porcelain. These materials are lightweight and cost less than marble slabs. Nevertheless, marble should be treated with care to make it last longer.
Wall-mounted fireplaces
The addition of a wall-mounted fireplace in a luxurious bathroom can make the space feel incredibly cozy and inviting. Fireplaces are traditionally located in dens or living rooms, but they’re becoming increasingly popular in bathrooms. The addition of a fireplace to a bathroom can also boost the home’s resale value. According to the National Association of Home Builders, fireplaces are among the top three features that buyers look for in a new home.
While a fireplace in a luxurious bathroom will add warmth and ambiance to a luxury bathroom, the placement of the fireplace can also influence the design of the room. A wall-mounted fireplace can be placed at the end of a tub for an elegant look and feel. Electric wall fireplaces can be purchased online for under $400, while a gas-operated fireplace can be found for as much as $1,393. A separate shower is a key element of a luxury bathroom design, and it can also be styled beautifully with exquisite finishing touches. A glass shower can cost as little as $852, while a steam shower can cost upwards of $4000.
While installing a fireplace in a bathroom was once a difficult process, there are many new prefab fireplaces on the market that are plug-and-play. Even the non-plug-and-play ones require minimal installation. A bathroom fireplace can make a strong statement in a bathroom, but they should be sized to ensure that the heat output doesn’t overpower the room.
Open showers
Open showers have a number of advantages for those seeking a more luxurious shower experience. These features include no curtain, ample space for more than one person, and dual shower heads. These options can create a feeling of spaciousness and openness in the bathroom, and can be the perfect option for homeowners aging in place.
Open showers are becoming more popular as a design option. Because they lack a curtain or door, they offer an uncluttered, minimalist look. They also tend to cost less than other shower designs. In addition to their minimal look, open showers also make the most of limited space. Most open showers don’t include a tub, which leaves more space for a luxurious shower.
Open showers are also more visible than other shower styles, which makes them a design element. They often serve as the focal point of a bathroom. As such, they require extra thought and attention to detail when incorporating them into a bathroom design. You can use a decorative tile or pattern to make the shower pop.
These designs can be installed in a corner, or installed to replace an existing bathtub. However, they need to be designed to contain water. This can involve custom tile and drainage systems. Open showers often have walls that extend to the ceiling, or are higher than the shower head. Open showers should be at least 42 inches wide and 60 inches long.
Multiple shower heads
In a luxurious bathroom, multiple shower heads are common. You can use one or both to get a body shower, a more powerful shower, or even a rainfall shower. These features will increase your showering experience and give you a spa-like feeling right in your home. These features are not limited to large bathrooms, but are a great way to add a luxurious touch to any bathroom.
If you’re looking to spend less on your water bill, multiple shower heads are a great way to go. A high-pressure shower head provides a full stream of water and can be positioned close to the shower wall. Many have built-in plungers to intensify the water pressure and prevent sediment and hard water buildup.
A double shower in a luxurious bathroom can include multiple shower heads to provide a more relaxing experience. A shower with body jets is also great for massage purposes. The multiple spraying heads create various massage effects that can relax the muscles and relieve tension. You can also adjust the pressure of the showerhead to ensure you get a thorough cleansing experience.
Gold accents
Gold accents are a beautiful addition to any room, and bathrooms are no exception. These luxurious touches will turn a basic white bathroom into a posh space. Gold accents are an excellent accent color because they go well with white and other neutral colors. You can use gold accents to compliment other colors in the room or just to break up the monotony.
Gold accents work well with many different interior design styles, and they’re flexible enough to appeal to most tastes. The warm look of gold can also be used to complement a dark space, and colour blocking can be effective in achieving the desired effect. Gold accents can be used in the bathroom on decorative pieces, wall light fixtures, and faucets.
Gold accents can help transform a simple bathroom into a luxurious space, but be careful not to use too much of it, as it will overpower the design. Typically, luxurious bathrooms use custom made accent pieces, carefully selected accessories, and high-quality materials. The bathroom vanity, in particular, is designed to be a statement piece, but not the main focus of the room.
Terrazzo floors
The popularity of terrazzo tiles is not new. This type of flooring was first introduced to the United States in the 1890s, and it quickly became popular. Famous examples of terrazzo flooring include the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Mt. Vernon home of George Washington. Soon, the material was used in many buildings and was even considered a fixture of architecture.
These days, terrazzo is the preferred surface for luxurious bathrooms. This type of tile is more elegant than traditional monochrome tiles, and it can improve the overall feel of the space. It also has the advantage of looking consistent, which makes it perfect for bathrooms. Designers like Neil Harrold at Dzek say that this type of flooring is especially good for smaller spaces.
This material is also low maintenance and highly durable. Its nonporous nature means that it is stain and water resistant. In addition, terrazzo is an all-natural product and does not release VOCs.

Frequently Asked Questions
How can you renovate an outdated bathroom?
Nowadays, bathroom renovations need little more than a new coat and a few new fixtures. Sometimes, however, even these simple updates may not be enough.
In these instances, investing in an entirely new bathroom renovation may make sense. This is especially true in homes built before 1980 where the plumbing system can cause leakage and water damage.
A complete remodel doesn’t have be difficult. You can easily transform your space with some planning and preparation. Here are some ways to tackle such a large project.
Make a plan. It doesn’t matter whether you hire professionals, or handle the entire project yourself.
Also, you need to think about whether you would rather renovate or build a new layout. If you opt for the latter, you’ll likely need to remove walls to ensure proper drainage.
Once you’ve determined the direction you want to go in, sketch rough floor plans. Then measure each room.
Next, you need to choose a colour scheme. While neutral colors such as black and gray are popular choices, these won’t suit every home. Instead, look for colours that complement your existing decor. For example, if your house features lots of wood, you could incorporate warm shades like red, orange, yellow, and gold.
While choosing a palette isn’t easy, keeping your options open is essential. Make sure you leave plenty of time to shop for furnishings, appliances, and accessories.
Finally, check out local building codes. It may be necessary to get permits depending on the location. You may be required to obtain a permit from the city hall in some cases. You can find out the code that applies in your area by calling your local building department.
A trusted Bathroom contractor will help you choose the right course of action. They can provide guidance and advice on how to proceed. Tax deductions are available. You may be eligible for a tax credit if you invest in major renovations, especially if the project is energy-efficient.
What’s the average price for a bathroom renovation in Metro Vancouver
In Metro Vancouver, the average cost of updating a bathroom is $25,000 This includes all costs associated with labor, materials, permits, or any other expenses. The cost of the project will vary depending upon its size and complexity.
It is important to speak with a professional if you are thinking of updating your bathroom. Bathroom upgrades can range from minor cosmetic changes to major renovations. There are many options, depending on what your budget is and what you need.
Renovating your bathroom can be as simple as changing the color or adding new fixtures. More extensive renovations may include reconfiguring the layout, adding new features such as a shower or tub, or increasing the size of the bathroom.
How Can I Make My Bathroom Safer?
First, understand what safety means to make your bathroom safer. Safety is not just about keeping yourself safe from harm. Safety does not only mean protecting yourself from harm, but also others around. Consider how you can protect others around you from injury if someone falls into a tub. This would include removing objects such as bathtubs or slippery floors that may lead to falls.
You could also install grab bars throughout the bathroom to help prevent falls. These devices can support someone standing on their hands by having hand grips. They keep you from falling during bathing or showering.
Another thing you could do to make your bathroom more secure is to put down mats outside of the tub. These will prevent bathers falling and slipping in the tub. To see clearly where you are, you could add additional lighting. While these measures won’t reduce the chance of accidents, they will make it less likely.
What’s the latest trend in bathrooms 2023?
As consumers demand better-quality products at lower costs, the bathroom industry is rapidly changing.
The next generation of bathroom design is going to be focused on safe and sustainable materials.
These include waterless urinals and low-flow toilets.
This trend will also be focused on health and well-being, providing access to showerheads and other devices that encourage better hygiene.
How do you update a bathroom on a tight budget?
The first step would be to take an inventory of what you have available. This could include toilets as well as mirrors, sinks and mirrors.
Once you’ve completed your list, it is time to decide if any items are salvageable. If they are not salvageable, they should be replaced.
Next, you need to decide how much each item is worth. Once you have a rough idea of how much you want to spend on each item you can start shopping for replacement parts online.
After you have purchased your new bathroom parts, you can make your bathroom more modern. You can paint the walls or tile the floors. Or replace old fixtures with modern ones. You should stick to your budget, no matter what route you take.

How to hire an contractor for a bathroom renovation project
It is not easy to remodel a bathroom. There are many steps that must be taken, including finding the right contractor, choosing materials, hiring them and getting estimates. Then, you have to sign contracts and start the work. This is because you don’t want to make any mistakes but also want to get it done quickly. These tips will help you to find and hire the best contractor for your bathroom remodelling projects:
Start your search online. There are many choices when it comes to bathroom remodeling. You can look for contractors through websites like Trustedpros, Houzz, and others. Most sites will let you enter your zipcode to view local contractors with positive reviews. Always review their portfolio and Google reviews.
Ask your family and friends. Your family and friends probably know someone who has done a bathroom remodel. Ask them to tell you about their experience and if possible, recommend a contractor. Perhaps they’ll be willing to pay a referral fee in return for you referring them.
Look into forums on the internet. For example, there are several bathroom remodelling forums on Facebook where people post pictures of their projects and ask for advice. Other popular places include Reddit and Pinterest.
Do extensive research. Do your research before hiring anyone to do the job. You should check their licenses, qualifications, and insurance. You should also take note of past jobs. Are they experienced in doing bathrooms? Do they have experience in working with spaces of similar dimensions?

Home Interior Design, From Arte Eco
An open plan living area allows us to see several modern home design favourites all in one take: A minimalist kitchen with breakfast bar, an L-shaped modular sofa to divide and wrap the room and cool pendant lights. What makes this place different? First of all the curvaceous accent chairs are a subtly glam addition. Typically we find much more linear choices teamed with a sofa like this but these have decidedly more “va-va-voom”. Their shape is complemented across the room by swirling artwork behind a dining area.

Although of contemporary industrial style, the dining lighting has a distinctly glamorous feel through rich copper detailing and shiny glass orbs. The curtains here are a heavy dense fabric that suggests high quality, whilst having a modern chevron print in an understated grey and black colourway.
