【消えつつある言語で歌ってみた】ぼくはフクロウ（Live ver.）

まちのマーケットで、週に一度の弾き語りコンサートを続けています。 いつも暇そうなおばちゃんたちに喜んでもらえて僕も嬉しいのですが、曲のレパートリーが少ないので、毎回弾く順番が替わるだけです。

そこで、頼れる同僚ビッグ・ダディに、この地方ならではの曲を伝授してもらいした。

その名も、Iara mae nakrudu（ヤラ・マエ・ナックルドゥ：ぼくはフクロウ）。

ピジン語ではなく、この地方で使われている現地語マリンゲ語の童謡です。 マーケットで歌ったものを録音したので、よかったら上の再生ボタンから聴いてみてください。

シンプルな曲調なのですが、お手本のビッグ・ダディはわりと感覚で弾いてたので、僕が分かるコードに翻訳するのが大変でした。 歌うときにフクロウの鳴きまねを入れるのがポイントですよ☆

ちなみにマリンゲ語というのは、僕の住んでいるイザベル州の7つ（諸説あります）の現地語（ラングス）のうちの一つ。

方言みたいなもの？と思いきや、たとえば「おはよう！」だけでも、

マリンゲ語：ハメラネ ケリ！ ブゴトゥ語：ブブゴエ トゥケ！

のように、だいぶ違います。

小さな島なのにこれだけ異なる言葉があるのは不思議な気がしますが、ソロモンでは日本と違い、島を統一するような権力者が現れなかったから、ということのようです。

しかし、最近は昔よりは交通の便が良くなり、ラジオの影響や人々の交流も増えたことで、少しずつ現地語は共通語であるピジン語に取って代わられつつあります。

僕の周りに住んでいる子どもの中にも、すでにピジン語しか喋れない子もいます。 個人的には、せっかく古くから紡がれてきた言語なので、消さずに残ってほしいです。 （ついでに言うと、どうせ取って代わられるならピジン語じゃなくて英語にしてくれと思います。教育の手間が大きすぎです）

この弾き語りの録音も、もしかしたらいつかすごく貴重なデータになってしまうかもしれません。

最近は、マーケット以外の場面で弾くことも増えてきました。

教会で弾いたり、

村のバンドに混ぜてもらったり。

現地語の曲のレパートリーも少しずつ増やして、いつかソロモンに帰ってきたとき、またみんなで歌いたいなあ。
