✖ 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝
los angeles. there was nothing more axel hated that have been born and spend the first years of his life in this place. the kind of place where everyone's got their own script, their own lines rehearsed to perfection. yet, behind the glittering lights and palm trees he found nothing but emptiness, like a soundstage after the cameras stopped rolling. his abhorrence for it burned fiercely within him, especially considering he hailed from the part he despised the most: the affluent enclave.
thankfully, it only lasted ten years. michigan felt like a much better fit for axel. while not perfect, it offered a sense of space where he could disappear for days without bumping into anyone—a habit his parents despised since he often used it as an excuse to escape. but for axel, those moments brought a temporary peace, easing his aversion to so many other things.
axel's teenage years are a sore spot for his parents. a staunch rebel, he defied the constraints imposed by his family's wealth and status. despite being a bright student, he disregarded authority and boundaries at school, landing himself in the vice principal's office for truancy often. unlike typical truants, axel wasn't out indulging in vices; instead, he spent his days in the library reading or dozing off. while his behavior nearly led to expulsion on multiple occasions, daddy's money always managed to secure his place in school.
despite his introverted nature, axel had a natural charm that endeared him to others. he remained puzzled by this, but people were consistently drawn to him, leading to his popularity in high school. this popularity often clashed with his preference for solitude. while his twin brother reveled in hosting weekend parties, axel preferred retreating to his room to play drums or bury himself in a good book.
axel wasn't exactly the life of the party, but when he decided to join in, he had a way of turning the gathering into something memorable.
after graduating, axel found himself torn between the universities that had accepted him. ultimately, he chose to stay in michigan, pursuing a major in comparative literature and a minor in linguistics. however, a year before completing his degree, he quietly left without offering much explanation. he vaguely informed his parents that he intended to embark on a backpacking journey around the world, disappearing from most people's lives for two years. recently returning, he resumed his studies at the university but found himself adrift. that's why, despite the volatile nature of his relationship with aaron, he agreed to join him at his lake house.
growing up with ace as his twin was a mixed bag for axel. on one hand, having a built-in best friend and partner in crime was a source of comfort and joy. yet, ace's deep understanding of him also made axel feel exposed and vulnerable at times. their brotherly relationship was tumultuous, marked by highs of friendship and lows of conflict. currently, their bond was strained due to axel's unexplained departure. oftentimes, axel feels stuck in a perpetual tug-of-war between individuality and unity, never quite sure which side he belonged to.
✖ 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲
isfj, type 9 / the peacemaker (enneagram), melancholic (temperament), chaotic good, aquarius, ravenclaw.
for some reason he's charming, which he sees more as a disadvantage than a virtue. even when he tries to be obnoxious people don't take it that way.
much to his chagrin, he also has a naturing and protective personality. he struggles to say no. and if he trusts you and considers you a friend, believe it that you will have his loyalty till the end.
a fucking snob. not about money but he will judge you over your taste in music, movies and books.
while friendly and approachable, he can also be quite reserved and private, especially when it comes to sharing feelings.
very sarcastic, he tries not to be but he just can't help it. also a tad cynical.
typically laid-back and easygoing who prefers to avoid conflict and drama.
deeply impulsive.
✖ 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐧𝐬
axel has been playing drums since he was five years old. his parents realize he would not be good at sports so they decided to channel his energy to music. much to his chagrin, he picked the most annoying instrument to have at a house.
learned russian just for fun but he can also speak french.
his guilty pleasure is watching reality shows. he's so ashamed for it.
no one knows this except for 3 people but he's extremely claustrophobic. the 3 people who know are the ones that got stuck with him on an elevator.
hates vegetables. he really does, he can't stand them. green juice? fuck that, should be illegal.
he's trying to quit smoking so that's why he always has tic tacs or gum with him to ease the anxiety.
can't do math for shit. so i bet he's been scammed several times with his change.
has a spotify playlist that lasts 700 hours of music.
the cult thing... if you've read the rumor that shawn mendes was in one, it was that one.
he was shocked when aaron d-worded, but didn't cry. i'm not saying he didn't care, he's just like well...
✖ 𝐬𝐤𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐨𝐧
the magnet
this is the leader, the one people always look to. he just always seems to have the answers and be protective of those he loves. this muse and aaron often butted heads over who was really leading the group. they are the fraternal twin to the spitfire. they are originally from california but moved here at 10 and have stayed in michigan.

i am on the very very very last pages of playback which means naturally i have put it down at 97% and am instead writing an extended post on the big sleep, which is seven books and seventy-seven years of movie ago
the plot of the big sleep, the book, is famously convoluted. this isn't me being dismissive, it works because it is, but it's not the sort of mystery where you have the fun of piecing things together yourself. you're in it for the characters, the tone, the city, all that good stuff, the plot is just a stand to hang the many stylish hats on. i've read the book twice, and i've seen the movie twice. it's mostly humphrey bogart and lauren bacall staring lustfully at one another for an hour and a half. the plot had to be changed to support a 'happy' ending so it goes from confusing to absolutely incomprehensible. it's very, very good. don't worry about it, it's fine
the book isn't my favourite of the series (that'd be lady in the lake) but it's a classic, deservedly so. the long and short of it is, phillip marlowe, private detective, is hired by an ageing oil magnate to deal with his daughter, carmen's, blackmailer. on the way out the door, his other daughter, vivian says 'ah, you're here to find my missing ex husband'. from there a whole bunch more happens. i know this isn't a particularly compelling summary for the people reading this but you have to cut me some slack here not even chandler knew why that guy in the car died. i'm just normal men i'm just innocent men. anyways
the book is named for the bitter, bitter monologue at the end. marlowe has found out what happened to viv's ex-husband: carmen murdered him in a fugue state. marlowe, who is fundamentally good in a world that cannot support it, participates in (briefly) covering up the murder to spare their aging father the horror of finding out what his daughters have done because he's going to die anyway. it's also about the closest the book gets to any kind of optimism
What did it matter where you lay once you were dead? In a dirty sump or in a marble tower on top of a high hill? You were dead, you were sleeping the big sleep, you were not bothered by things like that. Oil and water were the same as wind and air to you. You just slept the big sleep, not caring about the nastiness of how you died or where you fell. Me, I was part of the nastiness now.
if you have party poppers, now is the time to set them off. the movie ending is different. this in itself isn't a bad thing, i'm not of the belief that adaptations have to be totally beholden to the original, but it's a 'happy' ending and it's tonally fascinating. marlowe, in cold blood, chases the bad guy out into the street and into a hail of bullets. he and viv, (who in the end he can't stand in the book) get together romantically. the (mandated) happy ending, where everything works out quote unquote, is so dissonant that it actually feels much darker. i thought that was interesting

Raza Jaffrey as Dr. Neal Hudson, an ER attending physician. A British-Indian former surgeon, his approach is quieter and more people-oriented, than his mentor Dr. Rorish. He connected with Christa during her first year of residency. In "Hail Mary", Hudson becomes a surgical attending, and is once again assigned to the ER (season 1).[7][8]
Bonnie Somerville as Dr. Christa Lorenson, a mature first-year resident. She was married with a son who died of brain cancer. Her experience and her divorce inspired her to attend medical school (season 1).[7]
Melanie Chandra as Dr. Malaya Pineda, a first-year resident (seasons 1–2). She went to medical school and did her internship at Angels Memorial, and is more familiar with the ER. She is a lesbian, who was once involved with a resident when she was a medical student.
William Allen Young as Dr. Rollie Guthrie, an ER attending physician with a very nurturing style; he takes Angus under his wing in his first days in the ER. Guthrie's wife committed suicide, a death that strained his relationship with his son, a surgeon. During season 2, Guthrie is diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, and undergoes corrective neurological surgery to delay the onset of symptoms. Guthrie had a daughter who died from carbon monoxide poisoning while Guthrie tried to save his son from a similar death.
Harry Ford as Dr. Angus Leighton, a first-year resident. His father is on the hospital board. He feels overshadowed by that and by the achievements of his older brother, a former resident, but slowly grows in confidence. In his second year he is encouraged to transfer and become a surgical resident.
Benjamin Hollingsworth as Dr. Mario Savetti, a first-year resident. He grew up poor and sees emergency medicine as his way out. He worked as a bartender before medical school.
Luis Guzmán as Jesse Salander, known as "Mama". A senior nurse who manages the residents, Jesse is tough but caring and supportive of the students. He and Dr. Rorish have a long-term, close friendship.
Boris Kodjoe as Dr. Will Campbell, Chief of Surgery. In season 2 he is assigned as the new Chief of the combined Surgery and Emergency medicine department in order to save costs, causing strife between him and Rorish. Campbell has a disabled daughter (season 2–3; recurring in season 1).
Jillian Murray as Dr. Heather Pinkney, a surgical resident who becomes involved with Mario.(season 2; recurring in season 1). He quickly ends it when he hears about her side relationship with Dr. Campbell. She gets in further trouble when it's revealed she's providing Angus with Adderall. When confronted by Campbell, she threatens to turn their past relationship into a sexual harassment case.
Noah Gray-Cabey as Elliot Dixon, a first-year resident in the ER (season 2-3).
Emily Tyra as Noa Kean, an ER resident and former dancer. She begins a relationship with Dr. Mario Savetti (season 3; recurring season 2)
Emily Alyn Lind as Ariel Braeden (season 3; guest seasons 1–2)
Shiri Appleby as Dr. Carla Niven, a former resident at Angels Memorial and Malaya's ex-girlfriend. She is diagnosed with leukemia while pregnant, and refuses treatment not wanting to harm the baby.
Christina Vidal as Dr. Gina Perello, the replacement Director of the Emergency Department at Angels Memorial, who takes over when Dr. Taylor is put on leave.
Gabrielle Carteris as Amy Wolowitz, R.N., a nurse in the Emergency Department.
Meagan Good as Dr. Grace Adams, returns to the ER after volunteering in Haiti. She is Dr. Neal Hudson's ex-girlfriend.
Season 2[edit]
Nafessa Williams as Charlotte Piel, a new first-year resident in the ER who was formerly a popular teenaged actress.
Kathleen Rose Perkins as Dr. Amanda Nolan, a psychiatrist at the hospital.
Season 3[edit]

William Martin Gulager (/ˈɡuːləɡər/; November 16, 1928 – August 5, 2022), better known as Clu Gulager.  Television and film actor and director born in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He first became known for his work in television, appearing in the co-starring role of William H. Bonney (Billy the Kid) in the 1960–1962 NBC television series The Tall Man and as Emmett Ryker in another NBC Western series, The Virginian.
In 1958 he appeared as Roy Carter in the episode "The Return of Roy Carter" (written by Gene Roddenberry, creator of Star Trek) in the Western television series Have Gun – Will Travel starring Richard Boone.
Gulager stated, "Lew Wasserman saw me on a Playhouse 90 episode where I played an Elvis Presley-type character. I became the first contract player at Universal". In the spring of 1959, he signed with MCA-TV, where he appeared as Tommy Pavlock in the episode "The Immigrant" of NBC's series The Lawless Years, a 1920s crime drama. In the fall of 1959, he appeared in the episode "The Temple of the Swinging Doll" of NBC's short-lived espionage drama Five Fingers, starring David Hedison.
On June 3, 1959, he guest-starred as the unscrupulous photographer Elliott Garrison in "The Andrew Hale Story" on NBC's Wagon Train. On October 11, 1959, Gulager appeared as a U.S. Navy sailor in the "Appointment at Eleven" episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents and again as an escaped convict in "Pen Pal" on November 1, 1960. On The Untouchables, he played the role of real-life vicious mob killer Vincent "Mad Dog" Coll. Gulager was hailed for his utterly chilling performance as the psychopathic Coll. Late in 1959, he was cast as Beau Chandler in the episode "Jessie Quinn" of the NBC Western series Riverboat, starring Darren McGavin and Burt Reynolds. The episode is a tale of intrigue involving the Texas Revolution. Capt. Holden attempts to send weapons to Sam Houston, but forces of Antonio López de Santa Anna in Mexico threaten to blow up Holden's vessel, the Enterprise.
From 1960 to 1962, Gulager played Billy the Kid in The Tall Man, opposite Barry Sullivan as Sheriff Pat Garrett. The episodes portray Billy as a sympathetic character without resorting to the "misunderstood young man" theme used in such films as The Outlaw (1943) and The Left Handed Gun (1958). In 1961, Gulager guest-starred in another NBC Western, Whispering Smith, Audie Murphy's only attempt at series television. Gulager portrayed Deputy Sheriff Emmett Ryker from 1964 to 1968 on The Virginian, the 90-minute Western series in which he starred with James Drury, Doug McClure, Lee J. Cobb, Roberta Shore, Randy Boone, Gary Clarke, and Diane Roter. Gulager appeared more than 60 times in other roles in film and television, including the film Winning (1969) and the CBS series Three for the Road. He also appeared several times on NBC's Bonanza.  (Wikipedia)

Hello,how are you?
Can we talk about the relationship between Monica & Phoebe?
I have the impression that she very underrated, I never found a post here or Somewhere else who was talking about it
While she super cute and great there is so much love between her two woman and theirs personality are the same time completely different & Similar,
She could easily do not like the each other because one of theirs resamblance is theirs strong personality who is just a first view very different more "traditional" for Monica and eccentric for phoebe but there so much love and supporting and moments cute between them
I don't know I am maybe biased because she are respectly my 2&3 characters fav of friends
Désolé pour la faute l'anglais n'est pas ma langue maternelle
Yes! Please can we talk about this. (You're not biased at all and your English is great).
I (am going to alienate myself a lot by saying this) never understood how the friendship between Rachel and Monica was always hailed as this amazing thing where Phoebe and Monica are so much richer (or more unique in terms of tropes and stereotypes).
There is so much genuine love between these two women, it's sibling-esque.
As the show progresses, it is revealed that Phoebe attempted to phrase Monica out twice (!). And I always thought it was so interesting that Monica fought her way back into Phoebe's life and Phoebe maintained her friendship with Monica despite their differences, remaining in each other's lives when Monica and Rachel couldn't manage that despite growing up together.
I don't think we talk enough about how important these two women are to each other. Phoebe lived on the streets before she met Monica, she didn't have a home or a family that she was proud of (we don't know when she met her grandmother, but it must have been recently to the flashback episode as I can't imagine that woman would allow her granddaughters to live on the streets). This woman welcomed her into her home and with that, Monica introduced Phoebe to Ross and his best friend, Chandler, instantly gifting Phoebe both a home and a family in one fell swoop. (Which helps feed into that sibling feeling that these four have).
Likewise, Monica didn't have a backbone before she met Phoebe. With Phoebe living with her, Monica gets to build her Self with a new foundation, one that matches Phoebe's self-determined mindset. Phoebe doesn't get enough credit for the influence she has on the group but it comes to the forefront of her character in moments where she helps Rachel avoid the oppression she feels on her decision-making abilities. Similar behaviours can be traced back to her relationship with Monica, who in flashbacks is aggressive in her hopes for revenge but otherwise quite passive and downtrodden. Living with Phoebe, by both osmosis and Phoebe's instruction, gives Monica a self-esteem, self-efficacy, and self-reliance that Monica didn't have before she met her.
More often than not they clash but they love each other enough to move past it. Phoebe's too messy and Monica's too intense, Phoebe's too casual and Monica's too formal.
They're complete opposites. But they can relate to one another because they are inherently similar and represent what each of them secretly aim to be.
Monica has a family that Phoebe never had access to. But that family traumatised her in a very tactile manner that Phoebe can talk her through and help her shed. Phoebe has a self-reliance that Monica strives for (she's pretty reliant on Rachel and her parents before she moves out, and even more so when we first meet her - thanks to Phoebe).
Meanwhile, Monica has a stability - in her life, her relationships - that Phoebe wants. Prior to Monica, Phoebe lived on the streets but we meet her as a well-established woman with a stable job.
They're so important to each other and far more influential in each other's lives than we give them credit for.

Lyrics to “Never Shut Up Again” for the genderbend!Heathers AU by @tinylifeboat123
H. Chandler: What are those two pillowcases doing?
Vincent: Looks like they’re cleaning out your locker.
H. McNamara: Hey, that’s Hunter’s jacket!
H. Duke: Hunter Chandler is gone. It’s up to me to take his place.
H. McNamara (laughs): Is that a joke?
H. Chandler (laughs mockingly): It is most definitely a joke.
H. Duke: Why would you say that Hunter?
H. Chandler: See? Chaos!
H. Duke: Because you’re quarterback, and I’m not? Oh, you think you’re better than me!
H. McNamara: What?! No, it’s just Hunter was our friend! We can’t just swap him out like a lightbulb, I mean er, that is, heh… shut up, Hunter.
H. Duke: No, Hunter. YOU shut up! (puts on red jacket) I have a new favourite colour!
Hunter choked
Bought the farm
He could not hack it
Now we need a strong arm
To run this racket
Hunter’s out
Who will rise
Gotta fill that vacuum
It’s my turn
It’s my prize
I spit lightning
H. Duke/Students: Crack, boom!
H. Duke: I bit my tongue so long
I learned to count to ten
My silence made me strong
I did my time and then
A house dropped
H. Duke/Students: On his head
The witch is dead! Ding dong!
H. Duke: Move prick, this my song!
H. Duke/Students: I will never shut up again
I will never shut up again
Brand new day watching dreams come true
H. Duke: Well for me, not you
H. Duke/Students: Cause I'll never shut up again
H. Duke: Guys like me don't climb high
Can't crack that ceiling
But now I scrape the sky
It's you who's kneeling
Hunter’s pet, you're old news
Look at you, you're busted
You think you'll fill his shoes
Too late I just did
Now I don't mean to brag
Once I was one of you
But now I am the flag
You pledge allegiance to
I am the dream you chase
I'm your amazing grace
Yo, party's at my place!
Students: Whoo hoo!
H. Duke/Students: I will never shut up again
I will never shut up again
Brand new day
Now we're finally free
H. Duke: Free to worship me
Students: Cause I’ll never shut up-
H. Duke: Shut up!
Don't judge me
Mister Innocence
Your hands ain't clean
I've seen your fingerprints
You act so uptight
So virgin white
But I heard from the girls
What you were up to last night
Kate: Vincent’s my wet dream!
Rae: Vincent likes to scream!
Kate: Vincent took one for the team!
Rae: He took two for the team!
Vincent: What?!
Kate/Rae: That boy was slick and fast
That boy was big fun
Students: Big fun!
Kate/Rae: We stroked his shaft
That shaft was big fun
Students: Big fun!
Kate/Rae: And that’s when things went South
We went and snowballed in his mouth
Students: Woah!
H. Duke/Kate/Rae: Freak!
Vincent: That’s a lie!
H. Duke/Kate/Rae: Slut!
Vincent: Hunter, why?!
H. Duke/Kate/Rae/Students: Snowballed in his mouth!
I will never shut up again
I will never shut up again
I'm on fire and you're my fuel
H. Duke: You should find a new school
'Cause I'll never shut up again
All hail the king
Now get in line
The jacket’s finally mine
You can't run
You can't hide
I am a crimson tide
Better mind what you do
Big brother’s watching you
Can I get an amen?
'Cause I will never shut up again
Hah!

'Andrew Scott will play Robb the Protector in The Queen’s Guard, a new erotic audio series from Quinn.
In a short teaser for the upcoming series, Scott can be heard saying – rather sensually, we should add: “Look at you. Look at how beautifully your body bears the marks of everything you’ve been through. I could worship every one of them.”
The Fleabag star, out of character, then tells the audience: “I know a lot of you out there love a bit of fantasy and historical fiction. And I really think you’re gonna fall in love with this story.”
The Queen’s Guard will be available to stream on Quinn, an app exclusively dedicated to erotic audio stories, from 16 May...
Recently, Scott has received critical acclaim for his performance in Netflix’s neo-noir psychological thriller series Ripley, based on on Patricia Highsmith’s classic crime novel The Talented Mr. Ripley.
He also earned nominations for a Golden Globe and BAFTA for his role in the LGBTQIA+ fantasy romance All of Us Strangers, which has since been hailed as one of the best queer films of all time.
Later this year, Scott will star alongside Cameron Diaz, Jamie Foxx, Kyle Chandler, Jamie Demetriou and Glenn Close in Netflix’s action comedy Back in Action...'
