heather hanging back and waiting around for cheer practice to finish, her and chrissy walking to whoever's giving them a ride from schools car, arm in arm.

heather being judgemental as fuck about chrissy's parents, but being on her best behaviour during every dinner she has with them cos she knows chrissy's already Trying to Cope, and heather doesn't wanna create any unnecessary drama. but also you can bet your ass heather's had a few Choice Words to say to chrissy's mother, straight to her face, in the privacy of the cunningham kitchen, while chrissy's oblivious and taking a shower.

them staying up so fucking late that it circles right back around to early, sharing a bed, sometimes doing dumb teenage shit, giggling and bitching and maybe some kissing, totally chill. but sometimes it's been a bad night on top of a bad day on top of a bad few days and instead of a fun sleepover, it's a cry and vent sleepover, a sleepover where they wonder about how the fuck they're ever gonna get out of this town, out of this house, in one piece. or chrissy wonders, heather supports. is there to help and talk and plan and fucking hold. can be there to grip chrissy's hand so fucking tight that chrissy will know she never has to worry about being left behind.

heather literally Hating jason. jason thinking heather and him are chill becos heather and chrissy are besties and heather and billy are besties and jason himself is dating one of those people and is Bestest Of Friends with the other so obviously him and heather are besties, y'know, by default. thinks every time heather threatens him with bodily harm, she's just jokin’! anyway she's not lmao they will never find his body. billy literally has the shovels and the alibi ready to go.

heather and chrissy both being cheerleaders and on the team together is fun and i love that a LOT but also love the idea of heather not being a cheerleader, but just coming to all the games anyway. supporting from the stands! like yeah, billy's out there playing his lil heart out etc go team but like. chrissy. jumping dancing flying. heather HAS to see that. (billy; later: [ranting about shitty coach calls] did u even see that mess that i barely salvaged? heather: yeah, you made the hoop, good job whatever have you seen chrissy? billy: i literally got fucking benched okay your girlfriend will reattach herself to your side when she can, can we please focus on me for just one single fucking minute?)

heather and chrissy shopping expeditions. sometimes featuring max on the occasions where she's hanging around the pool and annoying billy, so heather cuts them off mid argument and says max is coming with her. billy breathing out a thank fuck before max holds out an expectant hand with an eyebrow raise, so billy hands over a couple of notes, still pissed, and max smiles like an angel at him before turning to heather, all 'you're right, that was almost too easy.' heather and chrissy laughing before smiling sweetly at billy before they all leave, billy just like 'the fuck just happened??'

them applying for the same colleges!!!! dreaming of moving to the same place!!!! organising and going to gigs together!!!! driving around town with the music blaring when heather gets her license!!!! literally they are best friends okay. Okay.
