i really don’t like what is happening to hockyblr… i miss reading fics about may barzal and matt tkachuk but there is just fics about random new players💔💔

if you were expecting me to agree with you, you’ve come to the wrong place. i never liked when every fic was about the same one or two players, and i liked even less that people only read about those one or two players.

i’ve always been a vocal supporter of people branching out and reading for players they hadn’t before. not every fic idea works for mat(t)hew and it was getting ridiculous that people were forcing them (and a few others) into plots that didn’t make sense just because it was the only way to get attention/notes 🤷🏻‍♀️

hockeyblr is plenty racist, society as a whole is plenty racist, with racist undertones and micro aggressions everywhere - from reader inserts who have blue eyes and blonde hair and blood red blushes when a fictionalized version of a hockey player stares at them too long. that’s a fact. POC OC fics don’t do as well as white OC fics. that’s another fact. and yes moodboards are traditionally white and skinny. these things have been spoken about plenty, i’m not sure why you’re sitting at home waiting for me to tell you that there are issues when they’ve been clearly communicated to you. i’m not an expert on racism, i’m just a person trying to unlearn my own casual racism, recognize my white privilege, and do better. i do not have to do this explicitly on the dash for that to be true.

i would be happy to have a discussion with anyone in my inbox about racism in hockeyblr, especially if i have done something that was hurtful or harmful to anyone because that’s never my intention but i’m not going to entertain anons that are simply attempting to stir up some drama

also for the record, and not that it matters but, yes i am white (well more red with my fucking second degree sunburn) but i am fat as fuck sooooooo

you do not know what i do with my spare time, energy or money. you do not know what organizations i support personally or where i volunteer my time
