I know it's just the normal phase of the writing process to be mid-chapter, make mediocre progress, and be disheartened at how much there is to go. But I am disheartened.

#Mediocre progress is still progress <3 I might read all the Liztlie AU comments again for motivation. I'm just tired. #Same thing is going to happen as 30 I think. I finish this semester and then I have a week straight to stitch all the mediocre scenes #from the last four months together and edit it into a coherent chapter. I hoped I might have time to do it while in school but #it doesn't seem possible. #laaast one? hope so. again i'm sorry. i'm...very bored let's say. only an ill-chosen nostalgic obsession that allows me to #churn out translated and edited material can save me right now #jacques dutronc #this one is somewhat tricky to translate #because in french we do have a valid idiom which literally means “to turn one's jacket around” #and figuratively means “to be a turncoat”; “to flip-flop” #so to fit the song i made up the turn of phrase “to turn one's coat” even though it doesn't exist (based on “a tunrcoat” which does exist) #i wonder if “to turn one's coat AROUND” would have been better but i felt that it would make it less obvious that it was based on “turncoat #i also wonder if it's definitely too weird/awkward or if an english-speaking artist could have plausibly made that up and gotten away w it #anyway i enjoy the song but french boomers love to rant about politics by citing it lol #one last thing: Collaboration refers to collaboration between france and nazi germany during ww2
