The continuance of the PR (shit)show

More shenanigans at the globes?

So apparently Chris and Abba were at a Golden Globes after party last night. I use apparently because a pic of them with Mads Mikkelsen was posted a couple of hours ago on an Insta account. So the shitshow officially continues...

A change in the PR tactics?

First reaction looking at that pic. Well I think this is the very best pic they have “taken” of the two of them, one where Chris doesn't wear a mask that covers half of his face, where he hides his hand (disappears?) so that we can't see the Arthur fist, where he looks rather healthy, actually smiles and doesn't look like an hostage. We know he and his team lurk on social platforms to see what people write about him. So maybe they just decided on a new course of action for the direction of the PR games for 2024. Maybe it was Chris' new year resolution: to actually make more of an effort to sell it from now on.

The ending of the shitshow

I have written a few of my thoughts about the ending of this shitshow before. So I will sum them up again. Nobody knows when these PR antics will stop except the protagonists of that shitshow, so people should relax and stop expecting them to be over. I know many mods keep writing this is about to be over. But it’s a lie they have wanted to believe or repeated since the Ghosted premiere. Yes there were many signs over the course of that shitshow when it looked like it was about to be over. But it is part of their MO. I have written about this in my post about the Forbes article.

People just don’t know when it is going to end. But it is very likely to go on for a while. And since he doesn't have anything in the pipelines work-wise, maybe this "RS" is what he needs to promote himself. Also, I personally think that a 4 month marriage would be bad publicity for Chris after marrying a 26 year old who looks like his niece. So people should expect the shenanigans to continue for a while.

The purposefully badly manufactured PR....

There are obvious issues with that pic. Some mods have pointed them out. Again you might choose to believe that he has the most incompetent team in the business… or the badly manufactured is part of their MO. And I think it's pretty obvious at this point because they have done that over and over. Maybe they were at an after party but messed with the pic on purpose. Or maybe they weren’t even there at all. The point is people get to play the 7 errors game. And it drives traffic for them… which is the whole point of PR antics.

SIDENOTE you can expect (or not) some more proof that they were really there together once tumblr blogs are done pointing out all the bad photoshopping or AI. Once people show how fake the initial sighting seem, some more legitimate evidence sometimes magically pops out to give credibility to the first...

Hey, I've reread crawlersout recently and noticed it's been almost two years since the last update.

Honestly, I don't know how many times I've read it. The pairing is absolutely unique, Gellert and Harry have great chemistry and I don't know how many hours I spent trying to find something similar. Let me tell you: There isn't.

You created the perfect little niche for them. Thank you soo much so so much! ♡

But crawlersout is nearing its ninth birthday, too.

Oh god is it really that old!!!

I finally caved and watched the new movies and... I actually didn't hate them? I'm probably influenced by the fact Hogwarts Legacy was such a good game that I'm more open to more extended world stuff for Harry Potter (as long as its unrelated to the core story and doesnt touch the epilogue-that-must-not-be-named)

Actually, the Mads Mikkelsen portrayal of Grindelwald just... ugh I adored it so much it sort of threw a wrench in my plans for that fic. And Jude Law as Dumbledore was just 💯

If/when I do continue it, it's probably going to incorporate a lot from the movies - having Newt and Harry meet would be so fun.

-I imagine Newt gets called in to deal with the Supay, which introduces him to Tom, and inevitably when she comes to rescue him, Harry

-Harry also meets Albus, who is still tasked with delivering Tom his letter, since Hogwarts' magic doesn't know wtf to do with Harry and still has Tom listed as a muggleborn. She's very effusive and takes an immediate shine to him, which confounds both Tom and Albus.

-Albus kind of unwillingly likes her, because she's just so obviously and genuinely happy to see him, yet he also knows about the unsavory rumors involving her and Gellert. So, he's also a bit jealous, since I headcanon Gellert as bi.

-Tom immediately dislikes Albus like in canon, but for entirely different reasons. He just hates people sniffing around Harry, although in this instance, Harry is the one effusively all over Albus.

-Honestly the next few chapters would mostly be about Tom finally in Hogwarts.

so you have voice claims for grimm and fpk? im curious to know what they sound like in your head, and the rest of the family too haha

I already answered a similar question a while back but I'd love to revisit it! I'll drop some samples/clips as well, like I did last time.

Vyrm in my head sounds like Rory Williams from Doctor Who. Here is an example of what he sounds like. He does speak rather quietly, though, so this short clip from another video is probably an even better example. Whenever you talk to him, you definitely get the impression that he sounds like this on purpose, like he doesn't want to be too loud and bother anyone. It's almost like he's constantly half-whispering.

Grimm, to me, sounds like Mads Mikkelsen. Particularly his role in Doctor Strange, like this clip. One thing to note though, he speaks in a much stronger accent with trilled R sounds. But the depth and general sound of his voice would be very close to Mads.

In the previous ask I said that his Nightmare King form has a different voice, and I still stand by that. Back then I suggested another Doctor Who character, The Beast from the episode "The Satan Pit". But while replaying Horizon Forbidden West, I realized how much I love how Hades sounds there and I think I much prefer that for NKG. Here are the voice lines. It sounds incredibly ominous, but also oddly soothing, which I think fits Grimm/NKG perfectly. Though like I said earlier, he would have a slightly different accent. Also, it fits especially well considering he's much weaker after his banishment, so I think it would be really interesting if his voice in the Nightmare Realm reflected that.

Hornet has in-game voice lines, and she'll surely have even more of them in Silksong, but my interpretation of her sounds a bit different. Ellie from The Last of Us is basically how I imagine it. No additional comments here.

Holly is a bit tricky since they don't talk, but they still make sounds. More specifically, the void within their body can rumble, producing low-pitched, quiet sounds, just like the Abyss ambience from the game. I've never thought about their voice if they were able to talk, for some reason I just can't imagine what that would sound like. Them being voiceless is a very big part of their character for me.

Zote... He probably has the most extensive voice lines in the game, so I never actually looked for a voice for him. Since in the AU he's not an old man like many people think, it makes some sense that he'd sound younger. I definitely think he'd have an overdramatic, borderline cartoonish sound to his voice. You know, Oblivion's voice acting is really goofy but it might just be the lead. Maybe he'd sound like the Bosmer from that game? It's fitting cause they often sound like absolute jerks hahah

Lewk, like I said before, would sound like young Simba from The Lion KIng. It just fits in my mind. And continuing the Lion King inspiration, I like to think Milo sound like young Kovu from the second movie once he's Lewk's age. And Asta would sound like young Nala, just to complete the trinity hahaha

I'm not 100% sure about Zote and the twins, so if I find better voices I'll probably update this post or make a new one.

i made this for MY viewing pleasure but i thot id show you anyways. it is a flow chart discussing the hannibal lecter cinematic universe and i have some notes on it

first and foremost these movies are all based on books but for simplicity and because i havent read them, we're only going to reference them. this is for the movies and we're working chronologically.

we start with Hannibal Rising (2007), which despite being first chronologically was both released and in the case of the book published last. it is the root of all hannibal. Hannibal is played by both Gaspard Ulliel and Aaran Thomas (at different ages)

from Hannibal Rising (2007) you go to Red Dragon (2002) which follows Will Graham as he consults Hannibal on the case of a serial killer nicknamed the Tooth Fairy/Great Red Dragon. Will Graham is played by Edward Norton and Hannibal is played by Anthony Hopkins.

Red Dragon is followed by Silence of the Lambs (1991) in which FBI agent in training Clarice Starling consults with Hannibal Lecter to solve the case of a serial killer nicknamed Buffalo Bill. Will Graham is offhandedly mentioned in the past tense in the Silence of the Lambs novel, which places this movie here chronologically. Anthony Hopkins plays Hannibal and Jodie Foster plays Clarice Starling.

From Silence technically we go to Clarice (2021) but this is obviously a newer installation so i wouldnt be surprised if there were some continuity errors in the series. Clarice (2021) takes place 1 year after the events of Silence of the Lambs (1991) and it does not mention Hannibal Lecter whatsoever. Lol. Clarice is trying to get reacclimated to work after a break from the field. Clarice has been recast as Rebecca Breeds.

That means Hannibal (2001) is technically a sequel to Clarice (2021), despite having previously been a direct sequel to Silence (1991). It takes place 10 years after Silence of the Lambs (1991) or i suppose 9 years after Clarice (2021). Hannibal is trying to get back in contact with Clarice as he is hunted by a previous victim. Clarice has been recast as Julianne Moore, but Anthony Hopkins still plays Hannibal in this one.

There is also NBC Hannibal (2013-2015) which is really an island independent but adjacent to this flow chart but i thought i'd throw it in anyways. The show follows plot lines from all of the books, making it similar to all of the movies. Sometimes Will is substituted for Clarice, and it introduces new characters or adapts existing characters. Hannibal is played by Mads Mikkelsen and Will Graham is played by Hugh Dancy in the show.

There is also Manhunter (1981), is largely considered a FLOP movie. It follows the same plot as Red Dragon (2002), but Silence (1991) was not marketed as a sequel to Manhunter (1981), despite Silence the novel occurring chronologically after Red Dragon the novel. They're very different stylistically and according to many take place in different universes, hence it also being an island on the flowchart. Will Graham is played by William Petersen and Hannibal is played by Brian Cox.

Side note. you have no idea how pleasing it is to my brain that so many of these movies were released in a year that ends in 1. Red Dragon (2002) is forgiven cause it was a direct follow up to Hannibal (2001) so it couldnt possibly be released in a xxx1 year. but Hannibal Rising (2007) you have no excuse

Today, April 4th, 2023 marks 10 years since Hannibal was released by NBC! So... HAPPY HANNIVERSARY, MY DEAR FANNIBALS!

It’s absolutely outrageous that Hannibal was released TEN YEARS AGO!

I don’t have the words to describe how grateful I am to Bryan Fuller and the cast of Hannibal for coming together and creating such an amazing and memorable masterpiece that I have loved and appreciated for so many years, and that had been embedded into my skull for the beautiful artistic mastery of not only the art, colors, displays, music, and culinary arts, but beauty of acting, and the way it made me feel throughout the time I had experienced while watching the show, I am forever thankful for the work they had done for us and will continue to be for the years to come, these people are truly awe inspiring and incredible people. So with that being said…

Thank you, Bryan Fuller, Mads Mikkelsen, Hugh Dancy, Hettienne Park, Caroline Dhavernas, Gillian Anderson, Laurence Fishburne, Kacey Rohl, Scott Thomson, Aaron Abrams, Lara Jean Chorostecki, and everyone else who helped make this show come to life, as well as the casting crew, the costume designers, producers, other designers and the visual/sound designers, all of you are amazing and we, as the fandom, the Fannibals, appreciate you all and your dedication, your hard work to come together and make this show such an incredible experience for us all and a legacy that will live on for years and an eternity to come. ❥Once breakfast has been devoured and your stomach full and satisfied, Hannibal would make sure to tell you had had canceled all of todays plans and proceed to help you to the bathroom where he had previously prepared a warm bath with soaks and all the things that you possibly could ever want for a bath, the ultimate relaxation time that Hannibal would let you have alone or join you in with whatever you would prefer and need of him. He would help wash your body and your hair, pour you some of that expensive bubbly stuff you always adored and just spend time with you for as long as you both possibly could before the water was to get cold and force you two out.

❥From then on Hannibal would have given you your first actual gift of the day, as if the breakfast and bath surprises weren’t enough. He had went out a few weeks prior to buy you that dress/tux you’ve been eyeing, and gift it to you wrapped in the most beautiful and luxurious gift wrap her ever could get, watching your eyes light up and sparkle with absolute joy was all he could ever want and need in his life. But he had to make sure you realized that this wasn’t all that was planned and that you should put on the dress/tux he had bought you, because he had more surprises up his sleeve~!

❥Hannibal had driven the two of you to the next location he had planned for, the whole restaurant and surrounding park had been rented out for just the two of them to enjoy, and he couldn’t help but smile and feel all the flutters of love and affection for you when he saw those tears of disbelief and happiness, and threw your arms around him in absolute appreciation and thankfulness. He held you tightly before he pulled away to bring you to the tables, letting you pick whatever you wanted from the rather expensive menu and treating you with the best possible alcohol or nonalcoholic beverages you wanted.

❥After the two of you finished eating, Hannibal brought you over to your next surprise, that of which being your [favorite activity], though he didn’t really enjoy it himself he knew you adored it, and let you have all the fun you wanted, he participated with you and helped you reach the end goal of the activity, smiling at your face as it lit up with happiness.

❥The night was slowly approaching and Hannibal had made sure the two of you had the best time of your life so far, and he was so very far from being done with the night for you. He brought you back to the house and sat with you on the couch, handing you a few more gifts that he watched you open happily, smiling at each gasp and smile of appreciation for what he had gotten you, happily returning your affection when you opened each one.

❥The time was growing later and it was nearing the end of the dinner party, and it was time for Hannibal to elicit his final gift of the night, standing her tapped a knife to his wine glass and cleared his throat, he looked at you and smiled, announcing his love and passion for you, expressing his gratitude for you being by his side for this long and telling you that you mean the world to him, you saved him from himself many time than you can count and he couldn’t be more happy to spend his life with you, and with the final words, he smiled, promising you that he will stay with you forever and love you for the remainder of his life and until his dying breath, and even though after death it was uncertain what would be, he promised to love you even then.

❥Dinner had finally ended and everyone had went home after saying their final congratulations, before the two of you were alone yet again. The look Hannibal gave you was unconditional love, and you returned it with the same look that meant it all. The rest of the night, you two laid in bed entangled in each others arms making the most soft love you two had ever made, holding each other and whispering sweet nothings to one another before the two of you fell asleep in each other’s embrace, knowing full well of your mutual unconditional love and affection for the both of you…

❥Waking up, Will had no idea it was a special day in all honesty. He had a small feeling that it was different than the rest but he didn’t know what exactly what it was, so he had done his usual morning routine, giving you a soft loving kiss on your head and making his way to the bathroom for a shower and his morning ritual. He did remember to make a small breakfast for you and leave it sealed in the fridge so that you didn’t have to worry about cooking anything and just taking what he made for you and heating it up before you went to work too. He left a cute little note on the top of the container that expressed his happiness and love for you, before he grabbed all his things and left for work, making sure his dogs were quiet and fed as he left.

❥When you woke up you found the breakfast rather quickly and smiled softly at the note, always enjoying these little displays of affection he showed you, knowing it was hard for him to do so anyways. You checked your phone as you ate and you noticed an event on your calendar… ten years… ten years! Oh my gosh! Today was your ten year anniversary with Will! How could you forget?? You mentally scolded yourself and hoped that he had forgotten as well to spare yourself the embarrassment of such a thing, and as you finished breakfast you washed the dishes and filled the dogs’ water bowls before taking the trash out and making the house much more tidy and smell much better (let’s be real here, it would definitely have a bit of an unpleasant smell with all those dogs running around the place) before you got ready for work yourself. Running out of the house you got in your car and went to work, remembering to stop by a little gift shop to buy a little something small for Will, to make up for the forgetfulness of your memory on todays special event.

❥Will got home to see the rather very clean house and it surprised him a bit, but he didn’t mind it. He was glad to have a sparkling clean house for once in what felt like forever. As he sat down at his desk to work on a few new lures for his fishing stuff, he suddenly remembered the day and importance! The tenth anniversary of your relationship was today and he had forgotten, oh how bad he felt for just now realizing this. He hadn’t even bought you a gift or done anything to plan for today, and he felt terrible about it. He quickly pulled his phone out and scrolled a bit through it to figure out what he would do for you today, as you would be home soon and he was absolutely in shambles on how he forgot about today. Concluding that he would take you out for dinner and let you pick something out at the mall no matter the expense he set his phone down and stood up, searching through his closet to find something nice to wear for dinner tonight. He called Hannibal and asked him advice on tonight, and with newfound confidence, Will picked a more fancier outfit out and then he heard the front door open.

❥Will immediately ran to greet you, enveloping you in a hug and kissing you before the two of you said your happy anniversaries at the same time, causing the two of you to break out into laughter and smiles. He was shocked but grateful as you handed him the small gift, admitting to him you had forgotten all sheepishly, yet he didn’t seem upset, he laughed and looked at you, admitting that he too had forgotten. He set the gift to the side and told you about the dinner plans and how he was going to take you to the mall to make up for forgetting and you happily agreed, kissing him gently before urging him to open his gift. He smiled excitedly as he saw it was some new equipment for his fishing lures, he thanked you with a loving kiss and a hug before he told you that the two of you should get ready and go to dinner before it was too late.

❥The two of you got dressed rather quickly and left, going to have a small candle lit dinner at your favorite restaurant, having loving conversation while drinking your favorite drinks and eating your favorite fancy foods. He smiled at you and you smiled at him as you both talked and laughed, having the best time of your lives.

❥After dinner, Will brought you to the mall and let you pick out whatever you wanted, insisting that he didn’t mind the price and he showed that by happily buying the things for you, spoiling you with all the love and money he could.

❥The two of you soon got home and just spent some time lazing around on the bed, watching movies on the tv and petting the dogs as they laid in your laps. You two occasionally shared a kiss or a small make out session, before the dogs interrupted and whined for kisses and affection of their own, which you two of course obliged to and happily gave.

❥Will and you just held each other all night and whispered soft affirmations to each other, reminding you how much you two meant to each other and how important you two were to one another.

❥Will eventually was the first one to fall asleep, holding you close and running his hands through your hair as he was at first trying to hum you to sleep, but he ultimately hummed himself to sleep. But you couldn’t be more happier, you held him and cling onto him until you fell asleep yourself.

❥You two just ultimately have such a deep connection and love for one another that you didn’t need anything big and extraordinary to profess your love, you two had each other and that was enough. You both were meant for each other and you two were eternal for one another. He loves you and you love him, and that’s enough, he is so thankful to have you for these ten years and for many more to come. As you too, were with him. ❤️

I'm looking for something a little more specific in HR books, those little moments of intimacy that are not that big but add a lot to the characters like pulling a glove off, kissing the palm of a hand or fingers, trace the shape of a mouth or a jawline...thing like that

First off, I think you should really watch The Artful Dodger, a show I cannot recommend enough to romance enthusiasts. It is! So good! There are so many little gestures. Jack listening to Belle's heartbeat, feeling her pulse, the amount of times they have these tiny moments of connection. Amazing. So romantic.

I always think that people who enjoy minute moments should read Lorraine Heath. I know I sing her praises a lot. But she really is one of the unsung greats. There's a moment in Beyond Scandal and Desire when the heroine has to give up her pearls after her shitty fiance bets them at the gaming tables and loses, and the hero (who owns the club and set this entire thing up but did not win the pearls from the fiance--he got someone else to do so lol) watches... And in the next scene he's thinking about her and running the pearls over his fingers and thinking of her.

I also think of Derek Craven stealing Sara's spectacles in Dreaming of You because he wants something of hers and doesn't know why. Clearly I'm into heroes stealing shit like creeps.

Oooh, in The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie there is a lot of intimacy that is really reserved for Beth, because Ian is on the spectrum and is really uncomfortable with certain things, even with loved ones--he doesn't like to make eye contact, etc. It's not that Beth "fixes" him in any way. There's no fixing necessary. But there are little gestures throughout the book that communicate his sense of safety with her.

Cat Sebastian is great with this. I really enjoy the ways that Percy looks out for Kit in The Queer Principles of Kit Webb; Kit has a limp following an accident, and you can tell as the book continues that Percy is more and more aware of things like this.

Obviously, there's the brick heating thing in Devil in Winter.

Oooh, there's a great moment in What I Did for a Duke where the hero and heroine play that game wherein one person is blindfolded and is supposed to identify the people in the room by touching their faces or something. It reminds me of that line in A Royal Affair (a very sad and dark movie, but also quite romantic) where Mads Mikkelsen delivers the immortal line that translates to "I would recognize you blindfolded".

The Duke Gets Even by Joanna Shupe with this, oh my god. The way Nellie keeps worrying about Lockwood's heart after she finds out about his condition (even though he Truly Really Hates It and she shies away from emotional intimacy). The way he's determined to have people SEE THEM and know what she means to him.

Melis: Let's start then.

Recep: Yes, let’s start

Question: If your life was a romantic movie, who would you want to play the leading role?

Recep: I get a little stuck on questions like this.

Melis: Me too. Which one will you choose?

Recep: For example, an actor came to my mind right now: Mads Mikkelsen. I like him.

Melis: He is a big Beşiktaş supporter, did you know that?

Recep: Really?

Melis: Yes, he's a Besiktas fan. He sometimes comes to Turkey to watch their matches.

Recep: What are you saying? This is the first time I am hearing about this.

Melis: Our conversation is over.

Recep: He is a Besiktas fan. I am a Galatasaray fan. Is there anyone who is a fan of Galatasaray that I should mention?

Melis: No, I don't know.

Melis: I always give the same name, but I really want to meet this person. I would love for Meryl Streep to play me but let’s do it this way: she should stay at her current age and when I am 80 years old, we would meet, we would chat, I would tell her about me. It would be nice.

Question: If you had the chance to teleport, which period would you want to go back to?

Recep: For me, most likely the 14th or 15th century. I would like to see the period during which The Ottoman Empire rose to power. I love history, I'm interested in it. I would like to go back to that period, teleport away, see it and experience it firsthand.

Melis: I am a very modern person. I mean, I have such a strange attitude towards the past, I don't know. I guess I wouldn't want to go back to the past in any way, so I don't know. Maybe if I had a very good knowledge of history and If I had been more curious at the time, I would’ve wanted to go somewhere but right now, the present day is good for me.

Recep: Aren't you ever going to use the teleport thing?

Melis: No. I would use it to teleport to places but I won’t teleport to the past. Maybe if I could teleport to the future and take a look-

Recep: If we can teleport to the future then I will go.

Melis: No, no I don’t want to go to the future either

Recep: If we can teleport to the future, I will come and go. I'll take a look and check how things are going there.

Melis: What if something bad happens

Recep: Then I will come to you and tell you about it

Melis: No, no, you will continue living with zero motivation at that point. Think of it that way.

Recep: So be it. I'm a curious person, I think I would go. I chose the past because the future was not mentioned in the question.

Question: If NASA asked you to announce that aliens were going to attack Earth, what would you say first?

Melis: As far as we can see in movies, we will definitely not be able to manage this moment of crisis by being incredibly scared and ridiculous. Maybe it won't even be a crisis, I don't know. Who knows, maybe they are very cute.

Recep: That's why I figured out what to say: maybe there is a problem. We have a small problem, they're coming. I would say they are coming; something is coming. Whether it is bad or good, we will assess it for you. That is the news, that they are coming. They will attack, right? Yes, there is that too, they will attack too. We have a big problem, friends. We are in big trouble. Good luck, it's a new planet. It will become theirs. Maybe they will open other doors for us.

Question: If a war broke out between zombies and vampires, who do you think would win?

Melis: You know the answer to this question.

Recep: it's very simple, vampires.

Melis: How can the zombies win?

Recep: Can’t believe you’re asking me, the red head vampire, this question. Zombies are living dead and they are of no use to themselves. So what good can they be to others? At least vampires, as a red head vampire myself, they can be of use to others.

Question: Which Hollywood star would you like to be friends with on social media?

Recep: For me it’s Brad Pitt. I already mentioned him earlier.

Melis: On social media? I can’t think of anyone

Recep: I am glad I mentioned him earlier, otherwise, I would’ve been stuck on this question too.

Melis: Then for me, it’s Margot Robbie.

Question: Which movie do you wish you played the lead role in?

Recep: I would’ve liked to play Tony Montana in Scarface.

Melis: I think Andrea Arnold is the director's name. She directed a movie called “American Honey”. It's a very beautiful movie. I would’ve liked to play the leading role in that movie.

Question: Is there an invention you wish you had discovered?

Recep: For me it’s phones. It would go something like this: “I discovered something new, I will call you. How will you call me? You will find out” since there are no phones.

Melis: I don't have that kind of ambition so I will not invent anything.

Recep: Don’t invent something new for us now.

Question: What would you like to say to your 40-year-old self?

Recep: I hope you’re successful. I hope you have everything you wanted and you are very happy where you are now. I won't get into too much drama, but it's a very good question. I hope you succeeded, that’s all.

Melis: I hope you are at peace. I hope you’re enjoying life. I don't want to be in a place looking for or waiting for something to happen in my life. I'm not at the moment, but something like that always happens, the longer you live, the less you long for the past. For example, I feel like I'm not at my best right now, and if I was, Melis from a week later will still be the best Melis. That's why I never want to go back to the past. I want to hold on to that feeling. I hope you're happy right now.

Question: Would you rather live without ever needing sleep, or eat all the time and not gain weight?

Recep: I would definitely choose to continue my life without any sleep.

Melis: Sometimes, you get sleepy when you have no time to sleep, you wish you didn't have to sleep and you could get some work done instead, but think about summer vacation, for example, you have a lot of time to sleep, so what will you do then? you will want to avoid gaining weight.

Recep: Okay then give us another answer to this question.

Melis: I choose one in winter and one in summer.

Question: What is the question you would ask your doctor if you lost your memory?

Melis: Where am I? Who am I? Who are you?

Recep: I mean, what could I ask other than “who am I”? I guess I would ask, "What period are we in?" After all, I lost my memory.

Question: If they painted you one color from head to toe, what color would it be?

Recep: Orange

Melis: Orange? I was going to say orange for you. For me, it’s light brown. *to the ppl behind the camera* You’re looking at me strangely, did I say something wrong? Why? Is it ridiculous? Does it have to be red? I want a light brown color. I feel like it would suit me.

Recep: definitely

Question: If you were an animal, which one would you be?

Recep: I would probably be a gorilla. Lion and tiger etc… would be very cliché. I think a gorilla is very smart. It is also closer to the human form. It also has this feature. He can walk on two legs whenever he wants. It doesn't have four legs like the other animals.

Melis: But that’s not how a gorilla walks

Recep: but he can get up and walk like a human whenever he wants. Also it’s a very spiritual animal. They are very smart. For example, Koko the Gorilla? She’s my favorite gorilla.

Melis: I would be a wolf cub (a pup).

Recep: a wolf cub?

Melis: This is going to be a very creative interview, I love it. A wolf cub, because I like that it's a wolf and I also like that it's a cub. On one hand, he wants compassion, but also he can protect himself. Was I able to explain it well?

Recep: I don't want a cub, I want an adult gorilla. Because they torture their babies a lot. Their parents beat them up. They raise them like that.

Melis: I would like to be a blender too. The one I bought last time, I use it constantly.

Question: We come to the easiest question. What comes to your mind first when you are hungry?

Melis: Food. Fast, practical food, I'd probably be very hungry. I will eat the food right away, something I can get used to might be nice for me.

Recep: For example a hamburger.

Melis: A hamburger with fries.

Recep: By the way, there is something called faburger, have you tried it? (Burger king sponsored the interview)

Melis: No I haven’t

After following them for more than a year....I'll wait to see if any acting jobs are actually underway before getting excited. After KP but before MS was confirmed they promised a bunch of projects together (which I guess now looking back was a bunch of photoshoots,endorsement/sponsors events and KPWT) Then MS was confirmed and that rightfully took a lot of time as they once again started from scratch getting sponsors and training in dancing and the drums (while still doing KPWT). Then we got an S-class series announcement for this year but that's now been pushed to next year...I am sure they have a ton of projects together but I am not sure a large percentage of those will be acting projects. The massive (and successful) shift towards brands and fashion is great and to see how well they are doing in that field is wonderful but as someone who came for their acting....looks like it's going to be another long wait.

to be honest, joking aside about the showing up on set to act and only that, I think very few actors spend most of their time singularly acting in front of a camera. except maybe series regulars on long running series, or if you are Mads Mikkelsen where you walk onto an audition for a role for a major franchise you've never heard of because you live in the woods outside Copenhagen or something and then immediately seduce every casting director you've ever met alongside Hideo Kojima who is not a casting director but will solely invent a game specifically so he can lure you to Japan and go on dates with you and also have an excuse to put a statue of you in his office building.

anyway , the point is - for a lot of actors, the grind is going to audition after audition and getting rejected. Bible mentioned he auditioned 26 times before landing a single role, it just happens that Vegas was a major role for him. Is going to 26 auditions without being cast any better than waiting a whole year to even start production on a series you're the lead in and everyone's wondering what's even happening with that series?

I think doing sponsorships and shoots is at least more glamorous and interesting for fans than going to audition after audition without the certainty of yes, but when - even though that's also part of acting work. Jimmy O Yang has talked about, between season 1 and 2 of Silicon Valley, he was driving Uber to make ends meet and had clients who recognized him from the show.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying be satisfied with how many acting projects we're getting to see them in right now, but also, like, even for the GMMTV kiddos, maybe they'll get a cameo in another GMMTV series if they're lucky, but in they're also in about one series a year as a main cast member, if that. But unless if BOC figures out how to get their talent into other projects they're not directly responsible for from start to finish (like Wuju Bakery) where either of them can just pop up for a few episodes, then it'll probably continue at this pace. Which is why having two production companies offering them scripts and projects actually will be better in long run.

Lost Souls: chapter 12 (Sweetbitter)

Summary:

"Her stepfather, Mattias, now occupied the player's seat, his gaze fixed upon her as Johnny's melody continued. A gentle smile graced his lips, mirroring the warmth shimmering in his hazel eyes, a sight seldom seen. Clad in the familiar striped shirt with rolled-up sleeves and gray pants from years past, his graying hair appeared so soft that she almost reached out to touch it, Mattias looked the same as she saw him last, years ago. A Danish man adopted by the U.S., he had made the move from Denmark as a young adult, choosing to settle after meeting his first wife. Meeting Mina's mother when Mina was eleven, he swiftly married her, becoming the father figure Mina had always yearned for—or so her mother believed." This chapter is told from Mina's POV. In which is mostly a dream sequence, we get to see glimpses of the past that Mina's ran away from, and of the ghosts that don't let themselves be forgotten.

Thoughts on Ahsoka Episode 7 - Dreams and Madness - A Discussion Post

This episode definitely included a lot of action and lighthearted moments, moving the story on for its near end. Let's look back at it!

Hera stands in front of a few New Republic senators and Chancellor Mon Mothma, trying to explain what happened and where Ahsoka Tano had gone, and how she left. As we know, Senator Xiono considers each of Hera's responses untrustworthy, and still does not believe Thrawn could return. Hera had said bluntly that she helped the New Republic "by ignoring you" straight to Xiono's face, as the senators fell into an embarrassed moment of silence. It was so funny how Mon Mothma was secretly smiling to herself before continuing on the trial.

C-3PO makes a surprise appearance at the trial, Anthony Daniels once again reprising his iconic role. Mon Mothma lets him in, as 3PO announces that he has a message from Senator Leia Organa. He tells the senators that Leia approved of Hera's mission, providing Hera with the access she needs to be free from the trial. Xiono had said that they can't trust a "mere droid", which 3PO took offense to, and Chopper was ready to fight from the seats.

Mon Mothma spoke to Hera one-on-one, not sure what her and Leia are up to, but is concerned about the situation. Mothma herself is unsure about Thrawn's return as well, but Hera knows that they have to be ready.

As the purgills continue to make their way through hyperspace, Ahsoka trains with her lightsabers in the training room on her ship. A hologram plays, showing Anakin Skywalker (in Clone Wars style) walking around and teaching Ahsoka another valuable lesson. He gives a few name drops such as Asajj Ventress, which really got me up to hear those names. Ahsoka connects and listens to her master, even if it's just a hologram. She said there was about 20 more recordings, and she has many of them. Everyone pointed out that she should show Luke these recordings, and I completely agree, as Luke can get to see his father for who he truly was before the Dark Side consumed him.

The purgills finally drop out of hyperspace, arriving at Peridea. With Ahsoka and Huyang still inside their purgill, they feel rocky bumps and hear explosions. A mine field had been set up around the planet, exploding near the purgills. Ahsoka and Huyang quickly made their escape out before the purgills jumped back into hyperspace to escape themselves. They soon get a few ships on their tail, navigating through the purgill graveyard to fly away from them.

While the Chimaera gets ready, Morgan provides Thrawn a record about Ahsoka Tano after he had asked for information last episode. He reads through it and sees that her master was Anakin Skywalker. The Anakin Skywalker, the one he met during the Clone Wars and had him go through a lot of chaotic plans. He looked at Morgan and asked her about that, his eyes looking wide and in surprise. I loved this nod to the Thrawn: Alliances novel, and Lars Mikkelsen portrays such a good reaction to this information. He definitely remembers all that Anakin made him go through, and wonders how Ahsoka is if her master was like that.

Ezra and Sabine travel through the bare plains with the Noti, helping them move to another spot. Along the way, Ezra gets a chance to catch up on all that he's missed over the years back in their galaxy, Sabine telling him a lot of information. She also mentioned Zeb, who is "training recruits". I'm so glad we finally got Zeb mentioned, and hopefully we can see him zoon (with Kallus too since Star Wars made it canon now). Ezra’s reaction to Sabine now being Ahsoka’s apprentice was hilarious. I wonder what she specifically told Ezra and if there was anything she left out. Like, did she tell him about Clan Wren? She could be quiet about it, and she is still being quiet on how she got here.

Hiding in the graveyard, Ahsoka sits back and connects to the Force, attempting to reach Sabine. Sabine feels something familiar, but is unsure.

Baylan and Shin continue to travel the plains, locating Ezra and Sabine, ready to go attack them. Baylan tells Shin to go ahead without him with the soldiers. She asks him, "You won't help?" She ends up leaving without her master to fight with the soldiers, wihout her master's help.

Ezra and Sabine fight Shin and the soldiers, protecting the Noti. Sabine fights with all her might with her blasters and Ezra's lightsabers, who had refused to take his back, saying "It's yours now." Ezra fights solely with the Force, taking everyone down with his powers. He fights Shin, holding her lightsaber back and bending the blade. Ezra seems to have grown stronger with the Force, especially since he hasn't had his lightsaber for years. Eman Esfandi was still perfectly radiating "Ezra energy" the entire episode, it's so good.

Ahsoka finally arrives in Peridea, still being chased by ships. Huyang navigates through the planet, avoiding the blasts. Ahsoka drops down from the plane, meeting up with Baylan and battling him. She eventually slides into the battle Ezra and Sabine are facing, and it was so dramatic, Anakin would be proud. Ezra looked so shocked, it was hilarious.

Ahsoka fights Shin, stopping mid-battle to reach out to her. She tells her, "I can help you." Baylan refused to help Shin, but Ahsoka is giving her help with open arms. I wonder what went through Shin's mind before she ran off.

Meanwhile, Thrawn explains to Morgan how he is preparing to leave Peridea as quickly as possible, leaving the others stranded here. Throughout the episode, Morgan kept on questioning his orders, which was just so funny the entire time. Thrawn just has to put up with her and is possibly wishing someone else he knew came to rescue him instead of her.

Also, I can't get over the height difference right here. Morgan looks so small next to him.

The episode ends on a very happy note with Ahsoka getting to reunite with Ezra. The trio is back together, and Ezra is still clueless on what exactly happened before either Sabine or Ahsoka found him.

The finale of Ahsoka is already next week. This week's episode seemed a bit way too lighthearted to me, so there's some things coming up next week that will probably shock us. I really hope the finale is long (like an hour or two or something). There's been a lot of content throughout these episodes, but there's still room for a whole lot more. Let's see what happens next week.

INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY MOVIE REVIEW

Daredevil archaeologist Indiana Jones races against time to retrieve a legendary dial that can change the course of history. Accompanied by his goddaughter, he soon finds himself squaring off against the Nazis.

Why does Kathline Kennedy continue to think that taking legendary characters and turning them into bitter, depressed, old men and only for them to be outdone and replaced by a young, British woman is a good idea. It failed spectacularly with The Last Jedi and you think she would have learned to stop self-inserting her Mary Sue characters into these stories. But nope she fails again with is massive box office bomb.

The more I have thought about the Dial of Destiny the less I enjoy it because to simply state it, it's a mess that is a piss poor excuse for spending over $300 million on. I believe it would be easier to state the positives before I delve into the negatives. This is easily Harrison Ford's best performance as Indiana Jones. He still has that charisma and charm of the iconic character decades later. But his ability to weave the grief and depression his character is facing into his performance is outstanding. Furthermore, Mads Mikkelsen delivers a great performance as the movies main antagonistic. His ability to take paper-thin characters and elevate them to the next level is worthy of much praise. Lastly, John Williams score is out of the park. Despite being in his 90s, he still delivers memorable and powerful scores. Alright that is about it for positives lets get into the negatives.

To state that this story is a mess is a massive understatement. The story is filled with numerous plot contrivances, inconsistent characters, and plot armor. For example, Jones becomes wanted for murder thus forcing him to flee the States. This conflict adds nothing to the story as it is just a device to get Indy out of his shell and for them to call the Nazi cop "trigger-happy Cracker". Not only is it a poor plot device but a very lazy political commentary on police brutality. But what is even more ridiculous is that the movie totally forgets about it by the end as Indy returns home. You think he would still be wanted, but nope they drop the conflict. Another example is during the opening train chase, Mads Mikkelsen character gets smacked in the face by a train light going over 40 MPH. In reality this would have been instant death, but Mikkelsen somehow survives without a single scratch. He should be at least somewhat deformed with a massive scar but nope he looks as handsome as ever. This is worse than surviving a nuclear blast in a fridge.

However, one of the biggest problems this movie faces is Kathline Kennedy's self inserted character of Helena Shaw, played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Now Waller-Bridge does okay job playing the character, but the issue is how she is written and how the story treat her. To state it simply, she is a sociopath that the film plays for female empowerment. She uses Indy at without hesitation to get what she wants. She disregards his feeling and belittles his character, while mocking the death of his colleges and friends. To state that Helena is a horrible person is an understatement. What is even worse is that the movie is totally oblivious to how horrible she is. As a woman I am tired of how Hollywood is writing female characters. The fact that writers believe the only way to write a strong female character is to turn them into the definition of toxic masculinity, is incredibly sexist. You think after so much backlash against these type of characters, Hollywood would finally learn, but again their egos are too big for them to learn from constructive criticism.

As it is becoming more a common practice is Hollywood writing, nostalgia is heavily used here to cover up the questionable storytelling. Whether is bring in Miriam last minute to cover the rushed and obviously re-shot ending, or bringing in Sallah for only a few seconds to cover the fact Sallah knew exactly where Indy was right when someone was about to report him to the police, the use of nostalgia is heavy. When this quality of writing is present, it really makes be question the WGA Strike.

One aspect that was somewhat good were the action pieces. I really enjoyed the opening train chase in Nazi Germany. Though the de-aged Harrison Ford with old Ford's voice was really awkward. Then the following chase during the Astronaut Parade was also really fun. However, the tuk-tuk chase was ridiculous as it was drawn out much longer than what is should have been. Furthermore, seeing an 80 year old Harrison Ford beating guys who are less than half his age, was funny to watch.

Overall, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is a massive disappointment. It's an unneeded film, that is simply a cash grab that is reliant on nostalgia to cover up it's questionable story. If you are like me, then the real ending for this franchise was Indy and company riding off into the sunset at the end of The Last Crusade. Also where were the gruesome and horrifying villain deaths. That was a greatly missed opportunity.

Meet the villain/love interest: Eric

There's this teacher, let's call him Eric, that teaches chemistry at my school.

He is SUPER popular amongst students. Even though I take no asignatures related to science, many of friends do and they looooove this guy.

He's 34. Attractive. Funny. Easy-going. Gets along with students. Even the low lives pay attention in his classes. They love how fun he makes his classes and dynamic that his bright attitude brings.

I liked him. I used to get along with him, made a lot of jokes about history vs chemistry. I loved how, even though I wasn't his student, he had been super friendly with me since day one.

I trusted him. He seemed like the teacher who genuinely cared about students. Who listened to them.

I have always liked older men. I am mexican and used to go to an all girl schools. However, after the pandemic, my family and I moved to Spain. The new school i attended was mixed.

Quickly I realized that a girl like me with a strong personality and attitude wouldnt get along with teengae boys. They were awful. Disrespectful. Perverts. I hated them.

Till this day I have no guy friends. I get along with some of them but wouldnt call them friends. I am, however, friends with almost every girl of my grade.

That being said, my attraction was obviously directed towards older men. Fictional characters, actors (Mads Mikkelsen oh my god) and so.

But no teachers.

Until Eric.

I found about eric's existence the second year i was living in spain. He taught in another building so i had literally never seen this man in my life before.

Like i said, i used to get along with him. Eventually i started to slightly crush on him. Not real hard, but crushing nevertheless.

He was perfect in my eyes. Intelligent, passionate, caring, hot?, and gave me attention without me having to ask for it. I had it very clear that if i ever had an issue, i would run to eric before any other teacher. Including my assigned tutor.

Then everything went to shit.

See, like i said, i didnt get along with teenage boys, like, at all. They were literally calling me satanic for not wanting to make out with random people (like tf?). However, on my second year i made a closer relationship with a group of guys who were nice enough. They made me laugh, I cracked jokes with them.

One of them, lets call him Chris, turned out to be a total creep. One day, while we were discussing the World Cup of 2022, I noticed that chris had decided to sit down while we all remained standing.

Odd, i thought.

eventually the word cup talk got veryyyy boring for me, so, i glanced down to see what chris was doing. and low and behold, i see him "subtely" filming me up my school uniform skirt.

Everything changed after that. I froze. Processing what was happening was very difficult. I literally just froze. Didnt move. And chris continued recording, oblivious to me having caught him.

Then I jumped him.

I literally threw myself at him and tried to take the phone off his hands. He started insulting me and called me a crazy bitch. The friend i thought he was had completely disappeared and someone else had taken his place.

He managed to push me off. Hard. I scratched my knee real bad.

My other guy friends? Called me crazy. Said Chris would neverrrr. Such a nice guyyyyyy.

I literally ran into the school building (this happened during recess) in search of eric.

i didnt found him. instead, i found Emmanuel, the head of studies who is hella strict. I broke down crying and told him what happened. He literally told me that "that's why we dont allow phones is school". even though he was kind of "understanding" he still though the big issue was that a phone had been used, not that i had been harrassed by a classmate.

The rest of the day was a nightmare.

Everyone found out. The guys made a joke out of it, saying they too would have recorded me to get a peak of my underwear. ALL the girls supported me. That was sweet. Literally, girls i had never spoken too came rushing to my side and hugged me. saying they were gonna kill him for me. Peak feminism i tell ya

Anyway, later on, eric pulled me out of class.

I was expecting a hug. Words of understanment.

Nothing

Absolutely nothing

Not even crumbs

He completely let me down.

Bc of my storming off, chris got to delete the videos, so there was no proof. and eric, being chris' assigned tutor, pulled him aside to talk and apparently broke down crying.

eric told me that i probably had committed a mistake and misunderstood what chris was filming (even though HE LITERALLY WAS FILMING ME UP MY SKIRT AND I SAW HIM REWATCH THE VIDEO DOING ZOOM IN BETWEEN MY THIGHS)

Eric told me that bc little baby chris was crying that he probably regretted whatever had happened, i obviously hit him with the "hes not sorry about doing it, hes sorry he got caught". But nooooo, eric though that sweet fun chris would never harm a fly, let alone record a girl without her consent.

Keep in mind that while i retold eric the whole story of what had went down, i was crying. i was a MESS that day. Like, a guy i trusted had turned out to be a creep and he was getting away with it. not to mention this had happened at school , a place i used to feel safe, where i thought i could rely on adults.

boy was i fucking wrong.

i remember when eric started telling about chris being sorry and all that BULLSHIT, I stopped crying and let out a fucking broken whisper of desbelief, "what do you mean by that?" i told him literally holding back tears of utter BETRAYAL and disappointment.

He started to feed that lie about chris being sorry down my throat again but i fucking spitted it out and threw at his face.

Knowing that eric was NOT telling me what i hoped he would AT ALL, I told him , with dried tears, to fuck off.

Not literally with those words, but i told him that i couldnt listen to him anymore. That i expected to hear something else from him.

And i left. I returned to my class. Left him standing alone on the hallway.

Alright! its time for top anime of 2022 list🎉

This year I didn't watched that many however I did found some good ones! 2 of those are recurring shows which I try to avoid, as this might be used as a rec list, but I like them that much!

10- Vampire in the garden: this one was on netflix which I guess is why it didn't get that much attention, i like the concept and visuals were very nice its a bittersweet end but I quite enjoyed. 09- Raven of the inner palace: the story is interesting, its starts very monster of the week style with ghosts then moves to a main villain, the relationships between the MC and the rest of the cast is honestly the highlight. My only complain is pronunciation of the names are jp localized so I hope this gets a chinese dub. 08- Gundam: the witch of mercury: the last gundam i watched was wing and do not remember anything but i know its reputation, I gave this one a chance because the designs are really fun and I also went in with the idea that it was yuri bait. TURNS OUT this might not be what I was expecting, there is one more ep of this + the rest of the cour so I'm hoping it improves from here. The characters carry this for me even the background ones, they all feel like characters not props! Plus ZERO GRAVITY HUGS!! 07- Mob psycho 100 III: I know this list is numbered but I love all of these equally ! However, this in comparison with s1 and s2 is one of the weakest, maybe bc it had to close loose ends? idk but its still a good one, the moment I cry was with ekubo more than reigen i know i know but reigen had his moment in s2 and I think that hit harder. Time to read the manga! 06- My dress-up darling: this is ecchi, im saying this first bc if people barely tolerate bnha fanservice this is not for you. I usually avoid this but I was dumb and didn't saw the tag😂 and I got attached to the main characters and the story, I read the manga and the ecchi is very far and far between as the story progresses. I think it has a lot of heart and its quite fun love story, plus you learn so much about cosplaying! 05- Sasaki and miyano: cutest bl I've ever watched/read, sasaki reminds me of childe which I find it so funny I can't unsee it. Miyano isn't your uwu protagonist and their relationship is build sloooowly on a lot of love and respect. Its nice to see this type of bl without its usual uh nonsense. 04- The case study of vanitas II: the thing about this second season is that i didn't know if bones was going to adapt everything, the manga updates at shoujo pace and has had rough months of absence HOWEVER it was all adapted, like a month after the last ch came out we saw that ep which is the wildest thing for me tbh. Anyway that last ep is why this is here, it was the BEST fight scene ending like [SPOILERS] watch it, it was amazing. 03- Chainsaw man: yeah i know ofc this is here, this is one of the best adaptations I've ever watched, it is beyond perfect. Several episodes I felt like I was watching a movie, can't rec it enough it even has its own mads mikkelsen inspired character voiced by the same va of the other mads mikkelsen inspired character from my other fave show. Also love the detail how mappa draws shoes as fujimoto draws them. 02- Spy x family: this is another good adaptation, I started reading this manga in 2019?? And I kept thinking how GOOD of a story it was and it was a shame so little attention it got, but now with the anime its got the much deserved attention. I adore it immensely, here is hoping for a continuous success.

01- Bocchi the rock: THIS is at the top bc of how relatable it is for me and what a nice surprise to know its actually a good anime. I was expecting it to be another "cute girls do cute things" like "do it yourself" from this year and I wasn't wrong its just that it has a little more depth than that. All the girls have good and bad traits, goals and obstacles to overcome so the story focuses on that with their collective goal of playing music. As someone with social anxiety that lean on rock/playing guitar to make friends and not succeeding on that front I want to see bocchi accomplish her goals, its cathartic like that. Also the animator are truly having fun with the different styles of animating the jokes which is always a treat to watch.
