I think Lyney will be pretty interesting especially if he’s the main character introducing us to Fontaine (similarly to like collei and tighnari being the first characters for sumeru). The relationship between magic and law to the truth are very counter to each other, because magic presents falsehood as the truth while law is meant to uncover the truth and judge impartially based on it. I think the fact that we’re seeing a family of magicians in our first banner instead of a judge or a lawyer means a lot of fun things are in store for the Fontaine justice system in terms of how it handles falsehoods presented to it and how it judges what it perceives to be truth.

Really wish everyone wasn’t like “don’t go to college if you aren’t passionate about what you’re majoring in”

Like unfortunately I am not blessed enough to really have a passion, much less one I can major in and get a job about, and I am not privileged enough to just do fuck all until I somehow find that passion

So I’m gonna keep doing what gives me a direction in life, and maybe I’ll never find that passion, maybe I’m not someone who was made to love working, but if I can find a career that doesn’t overwork me while paying me enough that I can take a few days off every week and get vacation time to do hobbies, I’ll consider that the jackpot and it’ll be enough for me

anytime I have to scroll thru a big fandom on ao3 there’s always dozens of chat fics and it makes me sad bc 9 times out of 10 they don’t have plots or are too ooc for me to want to read and it sucks bc I feel like the concept of an epistolary story told with only text messages is so fun!! Accounting for the diff ways characters would type/use emojis/emotes, how fast they would respond (if they have time stamps in the story) who’s getting left on read, trying to extrapolate what’s going on behind the texts, how a plot could progress in a text only format… it has so much potential yet usually it’s only lolrandom type meme stories which don’t scratch that itch for me 😔

I completely get thinking that the splatfests are unfair, and it doesn’t matter to me wether you like any of the idols or not, but it seems to be a little unfair for the target of the unfair splatfest critique is shiver(a fictional character) and not nintendo, who is in charge of the game and making sure the splatfests are fair.

It does really suck to see that a vast majority of the time shivers been winning the splatfest, but I think that its a problem nintendo needs to fix to give a fighting chance to the other teams(like with tricolor turf war, isn’t that supposed to be for allowing the other two teams to catch up to the winning one in halftime?).

if Frye was winning most of the splatfests, people would get mad a Frye, and if big man was winning most of the splatfests, people would get mad at him, too. it’s a matter of balancing and tweaking how the splatfests are made, and not doing anything like reporting people for being on a team you don’t like.

that said, i hope that everyone on every team this splatfest has a bunch of fun. I don’t care who wins, i just like playing splatoon!

Why are nickname conventions such a common thing for eng writers to struggle with when writing danmei fic? I’ve definitely made mistakes about this in the past (my first publish fic has SJ calling SY “Yuan-di” which I’ve since learned is not really used like that), but there’s so much info out there about these things that I found it really easy to learn, so idk why people still go around calling SJ just “Jiu” in fics 😭
