The downside of having an old west gunslinger type character for a dungeons and dragons 5e game is that now i have to learn how the heck to draw guns

#not literally i mean like art wise lmao #I have a gunslinger lone ranger type construct character made out of wood and metal farm equipment and her name is Wheelbarrow #and i've been meaning to draw her but... 1) i have a lot of freelance stuff to draw first and 2) how do not make gun look like boomerang... #she has a revolver for range and shotgun for close up fights #and melee-wise she's got a built-in sickle that can pop out of her forearm like a switchblade #also after a boss fight that was a giant mimic disguising itself as a tavern #she got a guitar that's also a mimic as loot! it technically can be used as a bludgeoning weapon if need be- it's alive and WILL bite #she's been trying to learn how to play it but her performance checks have been pretty consistently awful XD ; #alas... maybe one day she'll master fantasy wonderwall...

I don’t care if the suicide squad game is “bad” or “repetitive”, they gave my boy captain boomerang a voice actor who’s actually from Australia

It’s such a small detail most people wouldn’t even notice it, but when deadshot is trying to shoot the flash, digger says “why don’t you just post him the bullet”, but when flash expresses the same sentiment he says “why don’t you just mail me the bullet”

It’s little details like that that make him sound like a real Australian, no matter how accurate an american actor can get the accent, they always seem to mess up the subtle dialect differences

It’s insignificant to most people but I’m just so happy when non-american accents and dialects are actually portrayed accurately

if Izzy had to die, like it was inevitable for the plot then I wish he died when he shot himself. then the only person who sees him is ed, and izzy literally turns into the symbol of blackebeard. Ed struggles to leave everything he was behind because backtracking after he caused izzy to kill himself makes him feel like he could have saved him. during the season izzy follows ed in every scene except the ones ed's with stede (so it's the perfect metaphor for ed to be at peace) and after a while finally when ed is alone. and ed mourns and then at the end we find out izzy was a ghost all along, and when ed lets go of izzy's ghost then he's ready to leave blackbeard behind.

it would still hurt and izzy's purpose in the story would still be about ed's arc, but at least izzy's death has consequences.

and in the meanwhile if you want to headcanon him as alive in the background bc ed's not very in touch with reality and in some scenes izzy interacts with people then there's the plot twist at the end that ed's guilt materialized as izzy (and you can put so many implications about their relationship here) but when ed finally lets go of his past then izzy can be his own person, have his own arc.

because we didn't even need so much izzy screen time this season (i loved it) but we didn't need izzy to have so many interactions with the crew and stede and everyone and have him grow. he could have stayed in the background slowly fitting in. and if they got renewd for a third season they could've explored his character more. and this season could've been really about ed/stede relationship instead of having them getting together -> breaking up -> getting together -> breaking up -> getting together... s2 focused on the main characters' realtionship and if they got renewd for s3 then background characters is fine. but like this, they tried to have everything and instead we got half-completed story-lines that feel hollow

I think a lot of Batman comics would be better if they acknowledged how everyone in the family is driven by a shared sense of grief. Except for Damian, all of Bruce’s children have lost their parents in one way or another, and gaining another parent doesn’t erase that grief. That goes for Bruce too, I love how writers in the past 10 years or so have begun acknowledging that Alfred is his father but…that doesn’t erase his trauma seeing his parents killed in front of him at age 8.

Again, I like that there’s been a shift in acknowledging that Bruce is a parent to more than just Damian. I just think as stuff like Wayne Family Adventures has come out, people have forgotten how central grief is to the Batman mythos.
