do you have slam dunk fic recommendations? 99.9% of fics on ao3 are in chinese japanese even viet and even then hanamichi doesn’t seem to be that popular for writers lol so it’s so hard to search for fic

English fics for Slam Dunk are hard to find fr, I only know a few myself. I’m not really sure what you’re looking for in a fic, so I’ll just share ones that I’ve read and liked with Hanamichi in the pairing.

Rukawa/Hanamichi:

Winner’s priviledge, E

(their other fics are good too, but I wasn’t sure about adding them to this list because the themes are heavier)

Yohei/Hanamichi:

(They have other Yohana fics but have much heavier themes)

I’ve also written two fics for Yohana 😭 (both rated E) it’s in my #fanfics tag if you want to read those.

Also, you could try translating non-english fics, it’s tedious but there are a lot of good stories out there that aren’t in english. Personally, it’s how I’m used to being in non-english speaking fandoms.

There’s a translate option when you select and right click on paragraphs in Ao3. You can use the app Papago which can translate the whole site, although it only supports Japanese and Korean right now, I’ve only used this for Pixiv fics and Postype fics. If you’re interested in some non-english fics, let me know!

Jungkook Loves You Vs Jungkook, I Love You

Another interesting Korean Language usage and Taekook...

So, after his impromptu and strange WeLive (hencefore VLive will now be referred to WeLive by me lol), Tae started responding to ARMY on Weverse. As part of his response were the following:

Tae singled out again various Taekookers to answer their questions,

He made reference to the TV series NARCOS on Netflix, as a recommendation for shows. Interesting thing to note is the very prominent Gay and true storyline about one of the main characters Pacho Herrera.

In addition to this, one of the responses was quite interesting because of the translation of from Korean to English...

👤: v 정국이가 날 무시해 어떡해😭

Trans: v Jung Kook is ignoring me. What do I do? 😭

Which Tae responded:

🐻: 정국이 너 사랑해요☺️

Trans: Jung Kook loves you

This is the translations that a few ARMY translated on Twitter:

But here's the thing, on Weverse (at least yesterday), the translation was this:

🐻: Jung Kook, I love you

So imagine my confusion... so to check I used both Google Translate and Papago and yup they both confirmed the "I love you" translations:

I even typed it in, to make sure they were no issues, the same translation (Jung Kook, I love You), occurred:

So was Tae, telling us he loves Jung Kook or that JK loves the person Tae was responding to.

So of course, it trended pretty much all day. But then mysteriously, the translation (i.e. someone physically went into the systems and altered the translation 😏) had changed to:

Not even and proper "loves you" but a TXT speak "luvs u."

The confusion it seems comes from the "너" (you) in the phrase. You see this could be used to emphasis the name before or the publisher of the article (i.e. the OP of the comment):

But here's the thing though take off "정국이" (Jung Kook) part of the response and just this to translate "너 사랑해요", it still directly to "I love you."

So what was Tae's intent? Personally, I think it could be him using the play on Korean to get a message out, and it certainly did.

What makes the whole thing more suspicious, was BigHit changing the translation to an extremely informal tone of "Jung Kook luvs u" instead of "Jung Kook, loves you," almost like its meant to be chilled and friendly, which was the opposite feeling I got when I watched Tae's live... it was odd, he was acting suspicious and was clearly not alone from what I could tell.

Hi!! I’m really interested in ikegen story 👀 so I’d like to give it a try but I know no jp, are there any screen translation apps you would recommend? Previosly I tried screenshooting each scene in other jp game and use papago/deepl, but it took so much time 😭 If there are any screen translators that have v good translation that’s not f*ed up like google tl sometimes LOL I’d appreciate your answer!!! Ty ♥️

I understand your pain to translate each screenshot at a time. But the only screen translators that I know are google translate and ever translator. I've used both and I felt like google translate is much better for me if I have to compare. But I suggest you try it yourself to see if it's convenient for you. Sorry, if I'm not helpful!
