Here's my unwanted final opinion on the bear:

Whoever wrote the script or honestly the people that made the show in general actually, they deserve all the fucking awards, it's so well written and what I love the most is the character development in every single character even the smaller ones, it was beautiful, it was refreshing the way they wrote women on this show even though I'm a little confused over Claire and why they thought it was a good idea to include her, I know what people think she was "used" for, but idk if that's actually what they were going for, but anyway other than that all the other women?? Perfect, Natalie and Sydney and the little bond they developed, fucking adorable. This last episode was really good but I was expecting it to end a little less sad and maybe this is just me being way to hopeful (probably) the shit Carmy said to Claire without knowing he was saying it to her at the time was so mean, and that to me just makes it veryyyy clear that he still needs a shit ton of therapy, bc he could totally have dated Claire and still done a brilliant job at the restaurant, I don't love Claire and I've said it before she needed to chill with some stuff but my heart broke a little for her having to hear that, but what REALLY destroyed my heart was that nasty fight between Richie and Carmy they were both so mean to each other but Carmy just reached a level that I don't think we have ever seen his character at before, anyway I started the show not really liking Richie but by the end of season 2 I gotta say I do like him he can really be a sweetheart and he showed that in the last two episodes, and I'm very proud of him not gonna lie, and Tina?? Ugh that woman where she was and where she is now, the character development/growth wow. About the scene of Carmy and his panic attack and people basically ignoring the fact that he was a having a panic attack for shipping purposes (bc that's what it felt like to me) bc you know "he started thinking about Syd and he calmed down" blah blah blah, I saw a gif set of this with someone saying that and I was like, oh interesting, but knowing how shippers in general are I was like, okay but is that the full context?? And no it really wasn't, what they showed was very surface level and people saw the images and were like omg they are in love but completely chose to forget the images before and the context of what day it was, like yeah he calmed down remembering her bc just like Jeremy has said he knows that Syd is there for him, he started this with her and now he's opening it, they both share the same passion and knowledge and they know they can rely on each other so yeah obviously he calmed down I have severe anxiety and I can't tell you the amount of times that at school I would think about people around me that made me feel even a little bit comfortable just so I could calm down and get something done and why was I thinking about those people it's not bc I was in love hell no, it's bc I knew I could trust them in a way and could count on them, if I needed anything they are there I'm not doing it alone, and thats the whole ass point that is being missed and I think is so upsetting honestly. Finishing this show and now having the scene of Carmy stuck in the walk in freezer and basically every way he acted with his feelings towards Claire (which in my opinion weren't that strong but okay) tells me that Carmy does not need a romantic partner that man needs a new therapist and that's what makes sense for his character. Let me try to make this last part short bc it's already huge, Marcus needs to learn how to deal with rejection goddamn why did he have to yell at Syd, anyway I have my own thoughts on Syd's "romantic" life but this is already too long so I'm gonna end it here lol

2x05, part 2.

Kaz is like, "Do I look like a person who's gonna do any of your nonsense?" And with those bruises, lmaooo. "My husband" what a sigh your 'husband' is, lmaooo. Again, she's the the only one who can pull that off. They can kinda flirt and are borderline romantic, but in reality they're such platonic pals. <3 I adore their relationship in the book.

WHEEZING. Only she can pull that off without punished for that, lmaoooo. I love how different her relationships are with Kaz and Inej. Inej is all sweet and can sleep with her head on Nina's shoulder. That's the partner she needs, not Kaz. Nina, however, can troll him as much as she wants, and will still stay out of his league. She's simply more powerful than he is and isn't intimidated by him even one bit.

I don't think Nina understands how hard this is for him. It's so rare for anyone to see the bare skin of his hands. I fully expected him to do what he is asked of without taking his gloves off. This is a very important moment. Such a rare sight. It feels weird, even, to see his hands with the gloves off.

It's like it's not even him.

Darling, put the gloves back on. :( My heart aches for him. They think it's all a joke until it's not. My question is, though, why didn't she try to slow his heartbeat? I don't remember anything about this in the book, unfortunately. She just felt how bad it was for him and maybe could've helped. But idk, if he's having trouble breathing, then the slowing his heartbeat would probably not help.

This is where I thought he'd fall into the water tbh. Bumping into so many people, with his hands bare, which also amplifies a panic attack. I'm glad Inej understood she needs to IMMEDIATELY back off. If they push that "I'll have you without your armor" bullshit, I'm gonna be very mad.

And for that moment, he's in a pile of corpses. He's five years old. Jordie is dead. He's alone in this world. He uses Jordie's corpse to stay afloat. And my heart breaks for him yet again.

Him sharing food with Jesper and Nina is so cute. Foodies. <3 I like their friendship.

Sharing those glances, that bond once again. <3 Kaz even shares a smile/a scowl with him. Jesper doesn't care. He'll endure whatever Kaz throws at him and still be so chill about it. "Now to the real talk, okie dockie?" And Kaz starts talking. Love it.

That's what I'm talking about. Wylan looks so unnatural. Baby, can you snap out of it please? On the other hand, maybe I should reread the book first before saying this. I don't remember if he's on the specter in any way. If he is, it's understandable. If he isn't, I'd love for him to be more alive and have more personality and be a valuable member of the Crows, like in CK.

WRONG. Big wrong. Oh, the book... What he felt for her, how he loved her. Matthias deserved better. ;_;

The moment when Nikolai gives Alina his compass was nice. I remember from what I've read that they've become really good friends. I actually like seeing it in the show. I liked seeing this side of him, and it feels like they've cast a proper actor to play him? But i don't know much about him, so it's not up for me to decide. He's still good though, imo. The emerald though. It's for Zoya, isn't it? Don't remember how they end up there, but yeah.

That talk between Wylan and Jesper at the end. "Because it's not a blessing, it's a curse! And you have no idea what it's cost me." They did a lot of things about them wrong, but those words and encounters they have at their cores, both of them, had to be included. And I'm glad that they are.

Holy shit. So it IS in this episode. Jordie pulling him out, then drowning him back. It's 11 pm, I woke up at 6, how am I supposed to sleep now??? My goodness, I was waiting for this scene. Gifs!! I NEED GIFS!!!

The lack of buddie has never been as bad as it is this season. At least in s5A they had the first 3 episodes and then a centric episode in 7. Buddie haven’t had a meaningful conversation since the premiere this season. They’re very purposely keeping them apart. Whether that’s Kristen trying to halt the shipping of them or it’s a narrative reason idk but it’s immensely frustrating as a buddie fan how they haven’t had a meaningful conversation since the premiere.

And I've said repeatedly that people can feel that way and be upset.

I have also said that unsolicited complaining in people's inboxes of it isn't fair to fans that are having a good time.

I'm a buddie shipper. I'm not frustrated or upset with how things are going. I'm quite happy with the season. Idk if you sending me this was prompted by my posts on Tuesday or if you just decided to come complain, but if it's the latter, I've been pretty open about having a good time or at least pretty positive about the season. So...

To be honest, I think it's very possible that they're narratively keeping them apart. I also think it could be that they're just changing stuff up and giving us some new dynamics because the fans responded well to it last season.

Someone sent me an ask that I didn't post and said they like the new dynamics but it shouldn't come at the cost of buddie. That Hen and Chim aren't seeing this distance.

And I disagree. It's an ensemble show with 7 main cast members and about 45 minutes a week to work with. With the choices being made, all of the usual dynamics aren't getting the screentime they normally would.

Hen and Buck are a central dynamic right now and we're definitely seeing that change things. We've seen Hen and Chim working together, the same that we've seen Buck and Eddie, but outside of Henren Begins when's the last time we had a major Hen and Chim scene?

Buck and Eddie are still interacting. They haven't been completely ripped apart. If I wanted to make a buddie in 6a gif set, every episode besides 6x03 would have something. They just haven't had any major moments. There's plenty of little moments and if we wanna talk narratively, it makes sense how this is all going.

Buck intentionally keeping distance from himself and the 118 (minus Hen) so that's contributed to this. He's doing something that he subconsciously knows he shouldn't and so we're seeing these team scene with him feeling removed. And we have seen Eddie trying to push a little and understand it every time.

Additionally, we've had 2/7 episodes being focused only on one relationship. We didn't see much of any dynamic that wasn't tied to Hen in 6x06.

All this to say, if you're that frustrated, take a break from the show. It's on Hulu so you don't have to wait a million years for it to come on Netflix. Or plenty of people download it for gifs, I'm sure you can find it somewhere.

Marie Kondo it. If it's not sparking joy, let it go. You can absolutely come back when you know how this is resolved and that it's resolved. It's just not making you happy right now and that's okay. It's how you approach being upset that might not be okay. Again I don't know what prompted you sending me this ask, but I will say that if it was just because you wanted to complain, then consider thinking about who you're complaining to and why you're upset.

(And unless I'm remembering wrong. We barely saw them outside of calls at work in 2b. There's when Maddie was taken, 2x14 and 2x18 that have some heavier scenes but that's all I can think of.)

when did you watch bad buddy/join the fandom? - OH MAN so bbs was my first thai bl, and I found it through an Instagram reel! I had just finished a show and was kind of bored + also starving for queer content, so I went home and instantly binge watched the whole series. And long story short here I am!

favorite ship(s) - inkpa (the lomls), patpran (they're so skrunklgy), waikorn (they could make each other worse <3)!

favorite character(s) - THAT'S HARD if I had to pick... Ink. Definitely. Then Korn

favorite episode(s) - hmm I binge watched bbs so I don't really remember distinct episodes?

favorite scene(s) - okay actually my favorite scene is one I don't think I've ever properly talked about but it's the end of... ep 10 I believe, where patpran hug up on the rooftop. Firstly, the whole deal associated with the rooftop is already so so good, but just the way Pat and Pran trust each other so much, the way they turn to each other for comfort. I think that scene really embodies what I love about the series, which is that patpran face external factors but their relationship in and of itself is so stable and secure.

one thing you would change about the show if you could - definitely agree with sonia, more inkpa! Also, less of patpran's friends being pricks? I understand that's part of the conflict but man they're just rude sometimes

what are your some of your favorite fanworks made by other people? - it's impossible to choose favorite fics because all the bbs writers are amazing and I love everything they write, so any bad buddy fic I've ever bookmarked is a rec!

Patrivan Drives Me Nuts, And Here's Why: Part 5

S5E4: The Body [1,2,3,4]

->Because Ivan Is Really Pissing Me Off (but not as much as Ari)

Hm, how to even begin?

Look, this episode was as bad as episode 3 as far as patrivan is concerned, but I didn't hate it as much... I would say. And that's only because I think Cruz evened out this whole emotional mess, and Patrick isn't as inferior to Ivan anymore. Like, he's finally got a bullet to fire back at the idiot. Yeah, yeah. I'm toxic like that. But what I'm saying is, right when I saw that, I knew Patrick's trauma after seeing the boy he likes and his sister having sex in broad daylight will soon be returned. By, like, two-folds.

BUT. That doesn't make it any less fucked up. I know. Because, seriously? Ivan's dad? It couldn't be, idk, an older brother or something? Granted, his dad acts like a man-child than an actual father, but still. Cruz is a very questionable third party to involve.

But again, enough to satisfy my thirst for revenge. Lol.

Anyway. Let's break this post into 3 parts based on the sequence of events in the episode concerning our lovely (and suffering) otp. First would be Ari and Ivan's boat scenes 😒 (I'm still fuming), next is Patrick's whole emotional train wreck 🥺, and lastly, the aftermath of that wreck. Which, for Patrick, typically translates to 'another bad decision', a.k.a. Cruz. 🤷‍♀️

1. Ari and Ivan.

(yeah, I'm not... I'm not gonna add gifs of them. Lol)

So, Ari and Ivan's boat ride and eventual boat sex.... *sighs* I really don't want to talk about it because it just makes me angry, so I'll get to the point.

Wtf was that? Ari can't get her boyfriend to spend time with her, because he's working to have money, so she drinks, summons "Ira" as Patrick calls her evil alter ego, and cheats on her boyfriend with the guy she knows her brother likes? And Ivan lets it happen, but I don't expect much from him, so I'm not even disappointed (but I am, truly, lol).

That's all I have for them. *leaves*

2. Patrick.

Now, this episode wasn't very kind to him, was it? Poor baby.

He doesn't appear until around minute 19 and already you can tell that he's not doing great. First of all, he's late. He's supposed to be around during his dad's welcome speech, but even Ari has no idea where he could be. And when he does arrive, he's clearly on something. He's interrupting his dad, being rude to people, and breaking expensive sculptures - just being a total menace. And to make sense of it, remember that we're picking up from episode 3's rejection from Ivan.

Obviously, he got very upset about it that he went out and drank, got high, and probably fooled around with strangers if the huge-ass hickey on his neck is anything to go by. And sometimes it annoys me how he could be so fixated on one person, you know? Because he could get anyone, but he spends most of his time and invests his emotions choosing people who wouldn't choose him back. That's just really... ANYWAY-

So he gets into a verbal fight with his dad that ends up with him getting slapped (and oh my... that confrontation reveals a lot about his insecurities, doesn't it?). Then he walks out, throws a tantrum outside (which, Patrick, baby, seriously? 😒), and as if he hasn't had enough stabs into his chest, he gets stabbed in the back, too. He catches his sister Ari and Ivan having sex - out in the open jfc - and, ooooooof, the look in his eyes 🥺🥺🥺. Just- *gestures*

This is the exact look that makes Cruz's entrance in the picture satisfying to me (despite the, well, obvious age issues). Because trust Patrick to make things messier for everyone. He can't be the only one that suffers lol. Though, tbf, I don't think he intends to hurt Ivan. Ivan doesn't like him like that, as Ivan keeps on insisting, right?

3. Cruz.

But Patrick can't even take all the credit for this chaos, can he? Because to begin, it's not Patrick who showed intent first. Patrick's out there pouring his heart out to Ivan's dad because he just really needs someone to talk to, and Cruz flirts with him. Unintentionally, maybe, at first, but flirts with him nonetheless. So, what's Patrick supposed to do, really?

He just got bitch-slapped by his dad, saw his sister getting it on with the boy who spacezoned him, then there's Cruz who comforts him, tells him that it's impossible that no one notices and wants Patrick for who he is (because he clearly does), and Patrick's supposed to - what? Walk away? From the one person who seems to appreciate him at his very fragile moment? Who's showing interest in him when the persons he wants it from can't give it to him?

So, he goes for it. And, no, it's not a smart decision, but it's the decision that gave him peace temporarily - took his mind off things for a short while. And he really needs to chill after all that, tbh. And Cruz is neither in a committed relationship, nor too afraid to kiss him. So? Cruz just so happens to be Ivan's dad, just like Ari just so happens to be Patrick's sister. It's really.... not that crazy. (*snorts* Lmfao XD)

Anyway, that's all for episode 4. And, y'aaaaall. I can't wait to discuss episodes 5 and 6 because they're, by far, my favorite patrivan episodes this season. Like *screams incoherently*

Like, how my thoughts about Ivan gets proven in episode 5, and how Cruz is such a little shit dad, and how I think Patrick is too villainized for going through with *it* (ya know, the pool scene), or accused of self-destruction when he literally just accepted someone's attention to soothe his broken heart. You know, it's for him. It's not about someone else.

Don't get me wrong, Patrick has self-destructive tendencies (exhibit A: the entirety of season 4), but I don't believe that particular scene is one of those instances. The latter one, maybe, yes. (Okay, to be clear, I mean when Patrick runs away from home after that video of Ivan in Ibiza and seeks out Cruz for comfort? I think that's in episode 7... Yeah, that's the one. That's self-destruction right there.) But this one (as in: episode 6, the pool scene)? No, that's just what would have happened in episode 5 had Ivan been too chicken-shit to finally make a move.

Anyway, I'm gonna talk more about that in the next ones. Ciao!

My personal episode ranking based on my enjoyment: 3 - 9 - 6 - 4 - 10 - 2 - 8 - 1 - 7 - 5 (might change after I do a rewatch)

I loved the whole season so much <3

Sam Kirk is really lucky that he can't die lol

AFTER 20 EPISODES THEY FINALLY GAVE ME A MEANINGFUL SPOCK AND UNA INTERACTION. WOW. will wonders never cease? Send me gifs! :D

Why was I right thinking that there would be another legacy character surprise in the finale? [I'm kinda not a fan of how much he's trying to copy the original tho...]

also La’an just remembering the roster of Cayuga… reading Jim Kirk’s personnel file (but apparently not Sam’s?)

glad to know that my prediction that Spock and Chapel won't end on a bad note this season came true (I mean, yes, at the beginning of the season I thought they would end it (because I didn't expect them to end Spock and T'Pring), but as the season progressed, and especially after the musical, I was like nah, they're still not finished with Spock/Chapel, and it's nice that their relationship ended on a hope - considering the looong hiatus. I mean maybe they both apologize, Chapel leaves, and that's it, but until then...)

(before the musical, before the whole business with Kirk/La'an, I was like, yeah, the season might end up with Spock/Chapel separated, but when they broke La'an's heart, I was like there's no way they're gonna end all three romantic relationships as separated by the end of the season)

Marie isn't dead either, so there is also hope for them to figure out how to save her. idk like they can freeze her, can't they? (that's typically what happens when a character is put into a stasis at the end of the season - well, they might subvert the expectations, but I think letting her live is already subverting the expectations) [if she can't be saved, I don't think Pike would start another romantic relationship... not with anyone in Starfleet, at least]

The finale doing what I more or less expected with the relationships, makes me feel good about what I still expect for Kirk/La'an (don't wanna people start saying La'an's gonna die in the first ep of s3 now tho - like what writing would that be if she lost a love, got her heart broken, and then was immediately killed by the Gorn who took her entire family and were half of the cause why she can't be vulnerable and is distant from everyone?)

guess only babies are really really aggressive and adult Gorns are more like the one in the Arena

kinda fun that I expected the Enterprise crew to be split up, but a bit differently - i.e. Pike's group stuck on the planet

now La'an is back among the Gorn (that was also a cliffhanger I expected) :( With Sam and others. Maybe in the first episode of s3, Kirk will come and save the day LMAO (I don't want that but it's just fun to think about - fun things to think about VS what I want to see in the show are two separate things) (yes, don't @ me that Kirk didn't know what a Gorn was)

"Sam, trying to play a hero?" "Shut up, Jim."

(and then the Farragut will take in Scotty. Even though some novels did always have Uhura and Scott serve under Pike - maybe SNW will give us background for Scott/Uhura 👀 (even though I personally like Chekov/Uhura)) But no, I don't expect Scotty to stay.

I've been making my way through criminal minds for the first time, trying to see why so many people were so into it. I do enjoy me some procedurals. Seasons 1-2 were really kinda...rough. JJ suddenly became v interesting in season 2 though, like three dimensional or something (compared to the first season). So I definitely understand why fandom flocked there. I do love when any of the ladies interact, I'd seen that bar scene where the ladies deal with the "fbi agent" so many times in gifs, and it was even better experiencing it on the show.

But tonight. Tonight I got to my first moment of "oh my gord of course the femslashers were all over this". That whole moment (season 3) where JJ makes a point of coming over to Emily on the plane after a case and is all 'i can see it, you know, you with kids'. And I was just like AJ WHAT THE HELL WERE YOUR ACTING CHOICES IN THIS SCENE EXCUSE ME.

Anywhomst, I'm still kinda ... idk the format of this one has never vibed with me (I have tried to watch it every once in a while, but it's kinda depressing when others...aren't. also a lot of the profiling stuff is dangerous for the common population to believe.) ((I don't know if things change, but I've seen episodes every once in a while in different seasons and yeah. low-key little bit of torture pron which I've never vibed with)) But it's something to watch, and I look forward to seeing all the trauma that Emily/JJ brought upon all you queers. You know I'm on board w that blonde/brunette shippage.

A bit of a ramble, I know I have some friends who like the show, but I can't remember whomst...and hopefully I didn't say something offensive. But if anyone would like to talk to me about it, let me know.

And just to be clear: Penelope Garcia is the best character on the show. End of. I will not debate this because you're automatically wrong if you disagree. Thank you.

I am curious: what are your favorite scenes from your main ships (date, dair, derena...)?

scenes involving milo don't count, sorry!

for me, it's really not just scenes, but body language & just in general, how they are with each other, you know? dan and serena grin at each other and hug SO much, you can tell that being around each other in s1 made them both so happy, and even after that glow fades the way they look for comfort in each other... top level stuff. the way blair looks at dan... we never see her as radiant at any other point. she was not looking at anyone else like this. and gosh, dan and nate. they're both so comfortable around each other that there's absolutely nothing weird about like. discussing that one ex girlfriend whom they both share AND both were in love with. there is literally no other duo who trusts/enjoys each other's company so much that they're comfortable in a love triangle. anyway, more specific answers. under the cut. this is one of the longest answers i've ever written on this blog possibly but you KNEW that would happen when you sent this ask, didn't you? (affectionate)

derena: i tagged one of my ds reblogs as 'the grumpy one is soft for the sunshine one' and like. look at them! this hug from 1x10 kills me in the best way. they are both the literal embodiment of :D when they see each other! i love 1x10 as a whole moment, their entire thing at cotillion is so sweet and they're both so happy. the fact that he is talking about his chemistry teacher during this kiss in 1x07. that bit at the end of 1x05 when they talk about their siblings (being there for their sibling because of fallible parents being a derena parallel makes me simultaneously really sad and really soft, tbh). 1x05 gives me SO MUCH SECONDHAND EMBARRASSMENT but the way they walk off together arms around each other does something to me - these are two people who are still getting to know each other but who really like what they see, and who trust each other and. are just having a good time together! back when derena was my OTP, the 1x11 "your story's about me?" was absolutely a fave, too, and i still adore it, albeit in a different, more nostalgic way. i like a dan who writes cute stories about serena. no empty shell sabrina van skoneker bullshit. she is so much like you, daniel! you'd be shattered if she did this to you. don't do this to her. tbh, most derena moments from s1 are just A+ romance. the bit in 2x02 in the jitney is so funny, they're SO bad at being exes. the bit in... 3x03 i think?? i don't remember... on the contrary. when they're talking about dan's fling w/ georgina and serena's relationship with carter, the ease with which they talk and how happy/supportive they are of each other's new relationships... yeah. love to see it.

i also really like any instance of them having honest/open conversations. 1x13, talking about how serena is concerned about blair. 1x08, serena talking to dan about feeling jealous of vanessa. this bit from the touch of eva or whatever that episode is. 4x04 i think. this is the conversation everyone is trying to get dan to have and he's avoiding EVERYONE else. derena interactions in 3x21 (can't find a gif right now) - the fact that dan is with serena when her dad abandons them, the fact that he goes all the way there with her. 2x07, "i'm really glad you're nate's friend. he really needs someone like you right now" (though i'm cheating, that's technically a d/n moment too klhdflkgf). there's a bit in s4 where he's advising her against having an affair w/ colin, i don't remember the ep number, but the way he takes her side so easily and naturally and puts due blame/responsibility solely on her professor... yeah. 4x10 i think this ep is?? idk. but like my tags say, im sentimental about this moment because while what dan was doing was irresponsible, sneaking her out of the ostroff, he was the only person in this episode who was actually talking to her and listening to her and taking her seriously. nobody else was doing that!!

i probably have more moments i'm not remembering, but we're only 1/3 into this answer and LOOK AT THE WORDS, good lord, i'm sorry.

dair: my favourite dair episode is hands down despicable b (5x21) which i have heard is an uncommon answer. i just love the conflict resolution of it all, okay!!! 1x04 & 2x08 are like. standard answers any dair shipper will give, and i'm no different. i love dan being able to give blair advice and blair actually taking his advice even though they're not friends yet!!! be right back, yelling at the intimacy of it all!! 5x16, with their getting together (this little kiss and dan being so startled by it), blair admitting a flaw she genuinely does have and dan saying it's not awful because it's her, which is just. romance at its finest. those vows, good lord. 5x18.... they're having fun! blair showing up at the loft in lingerie for dan... the delight on her face.... (i know this moment blows up in their face but when she's there she looks so happy and proud of herself and this was like THE moment when i was like. oh. dair is really the heart of this garbage show huh).

i think for me, the thing that really sells dan & blair together is the serena of it all. both of them love serena more fiercely than anyone else, and that is what brings them together. (fwiw i definitely think nate loved serena this much and this deeply, too; the writers just wanted to pop the serenate balloon, which even i think was extremely unnecessary and ooc.) but (& i have so much meta about this) their relationship grows beyond serena. their entire s4 arc is SO good. i love how comfortable around each other they are, in such an adult way, in the sense of like. they both bring so much stability to each other? morgan tagged this edit "the marrieds" and like. yeah. b offers to help him shave. they're having breakfast & reading the paper together.

all the love declarations we got that weren't a simple 'i love you.' be your charming wonderful self (how could she not love you/ tell me what would make you happy, dan) i told chuck he doesn't have my heart anymore (you spent your life earning the keys to set you free when you were free all along!!!!) dan's pep talk to blair in 5x21 (already linked a gifset earlier, here's another one if you want i guess). there's definitely more... but honestly, the way the dair arc was executed was so good - while i do have my complaints, i also think keeping those aside, it was SO close to perfect. i love dan & blair's banter and gradually becoming closer and closer and closer. it felt very organic and real and GOSH. the way penn & leighton looked at each other while playing dan and blair...... it's just SO MUCH.

date: this is the hardest, because it's. *screams*. maybe you saw me losing my mind over those 2 seconds of nate handing dan a waffle? i love almost every scene with these two, even the hellish s6 breakup scene. my favourite episode for d/n (& also favourite gg episode in general) is 2x06 - i love the homoerotic subtext of it all. nate pretending to be dan because dan's name is the first name that came to his head. dan flirting w/ nate while tied to that thing, in his underwear. them becoming friends. and 2x07 as a follow-up to that! dan getting nate to live in the loft with the humphreys for a while. i am so soft.

4x09 is a terrible episode in general, especially for serena my beloved, but the d/n moments in that one? off the CHARTS. this weird overly macho flirting, in some ways THE most iconic d/n line. this entire finish each other's sentences nonsense. someone (i think it was ana but im not sure?) compared the energy of those scenes i just linked to the book blairenate love triangle resolution, blairena choosing each other over nate in the books, date choosing each other over serena in the show (if only! RIP.) after the saints & sinners ball, this cute little moment of 'youre the only one who understands me. please tell me they went home together. i mean. how could they not have.

3x07, them watching vampire porn together. a tag i used on ao3 (& also on here, once) is 'nate brings out the himbo in dan'. here is a prime example. 'is she levitating?' i don't fucking know, dan, what do you think?? (i was telling my partner that that's what i love abt dair vs date. around blair dan is an intellectual, a librarian, an art historian, a museum curator. around nate it's like dan is competing to be #1 himbo on the show. can my girlfriend actually fly? i don't know, dan. i can't believe you're seriously asking such a question.)

3x12 pep talk. (sorry about the shitty quality!) essentially nate telling dan that he (dan) is hot and that he shouldn't talk himself down so much.

dan making nate gay in his book. you know. his book from which blair found out he was in love with her. nads (who i will not tag in this billion word long gushy meta, because i value her sanity) once called inside "wish fulfilment' and. i mean. yeah

nate checking dan out at the derena wedding continues to be hilarious. hilarious in the same way as dan sexually fantasising about nate. canon really went 'let's give ivy some special easter eggs' and i appreciate them a lot!

i love the way they are around each other - so quietly attuned to each other. i showed my sister my date!husbands gifset, and she was like. yeah they're so married. and it's just stuff like how dan looks for nate over his shoulder, it's not even an active action, it's as easy and natural and intuitive as breathing, checking to see if nate is still there.

oh, that wasn't as hard as it could've been! okay. cool. im SURE there's more things i could scream about, because it's DN, the fact that they're non-canon makes me THAT much fiercer about them than dair/derena, to be honest. so many dots to connect!! anyway.

Since you decided to ask me as anon, I can only guess. I usually like, but not reblog when I want to show that I appreciate a person's work but don't quite like its source (an anime, a manga, a character, etc) or something about it makes me uncomfortable (the contents is too tragic, too bloody, or something else disturbs me). For example, I dont like Kuroshitsuji, so I most likely wont reblog anything related to it. But if I see a Kuroshitsuji edit, gifset or art, I am very likely to like it if it's nice, especially if it is a mutual's work.

Please do not be offended! If I liked and didn't reblog some of your works, it just means that it is not my cup of tea for some reason but I am impressed by the work itself and wanted to give you some credit for it. :)

And of course there are more possibilities. Sometimes I like posts and plan to reblog them later (by visiting my likes page), but forget about it. Sometimes I like posts featuring an anime episode that I haven't watched yet and plan to watch it, then reblog those posts as they show up on my dash again.

And on top of that, tumblr has been working rather weirdly for me recently, which is why I reblog less than usual. Everything is loading too slowly, which is very upsetting. =/

To conclude, Idk what exactly was the reason, but I didn't intend to offend you. I am very chaotic, especially when it comes to my blog.

Sometimes, however, it happens so that I had followed someone and then chose to unfollow them for some reason. There were at least 2 times when I unfollowed people who suddenly reblogged some very questionable and offensive stuff about my country. I didnt want to start a politics discourse with them, so I just chose to silently disappear. Idk, it might have been not very nice of me, but I wasnt comfortable with starting to argue and couldnt just let it slide. Both cases were quite a long time ago though, and I doubt that I like posts of those people now. =/

I also remember ufollowing a girl who recreated other people's gif sets very closely. She probably doesnt do this anymore but our ways parted and I dont know her current url. It all happened quite a long time ago, too.

So, I think that you are not likely to be one of those 3 people, if you say that I like your works... There is nothing to worry about!

Sorry for writing such a long reply, I just wanted to clarify everything as much as I can. I am sad that you are sad about me not reblogging your posts and I hope that it will get better. Thank you for sending me this! The last time I did it was over a year ago so in the meantime I've made a few more sets I am particularly proud of <333

Here we go, in no particular order:

-Enchanté confession scene: I am really happy with the coloring, but the main reason why I am proud of this set is because I usually struggle a lot with quotesets and picking a font I won't start hating 5 minutes after I've posted it.

-Semantic Error ep 8: There's nothing super special about this set but I love big gifs and it makes for a nice comforting recap of the episode when I don't have time to rewatch lol. I really like the coloring on some of these gifs and it just... makes me happy idk.

-Enchanté/Little Prince parallels: this took me ages, I had a version that had all the quotes in french too, one that had the words over the gif itself, I had a short list of 15 quotes to choose from, it was just a looooot of work. It makes my heart flutter when I look at it and I'm the one who made it so it was definitely worth it.

-Manner of Death finale: again big soothing domesticty gifs. It's been a while since I made this but I remember it took me some effort to get the sky to actually look blue instead of gray, it looks simplerto color than it actually was!

-Enchanté ep 7 favorite moments (part 1, part 2, part 3): of course I had to cheat and put three more instead of one but I really can't choose a favorite here. It was a looooot of fun to make all of these and I am very very happy with how all of them turned out. Every once in a while I like doing something more fun and creative with quotes istead of the usual subs.

Your top 5 Hook moments, and idk if you like to read but can you give me your top 5 books? :))

So as I said I haven't watched OUAT in some time and I'm a bit ashamed to say I had to go down a mental list of episodes to remember some favourite moments. But I did gather five 😁

1. Singing his baby daughter to sleep and giving her his mother's name, Alice.

(I didn't even have to think about this one. Even Colin has spoken about how this is one of his favourite scenes as Hook) Yeah, this scene will never not fucking gut me. The emotion is just so raw here and like, we've never seen Hook like that. We've seen him happy and loving before, but this one is just... Openly, unashamedly pure love that reaches down to his core. There are very few scenes in OUAT that allow that, and in this one, being my favourite character realizing his own blooming love for his daughter, and SINGING to her... God I'm a mess.

2. Apologizing to Ariel in 3x17

(couldn't find a gif, lol)

The one thing I'll always remember this scene for is that it was the scene for me. The one that made me a Hook fan. The one that made me go from "He's becoming better, he really wants to do better for himself" to "OMG THIS IS IT I LOVE HIM KILLIAN JONES DESERVES THE WORLD". And from a character standpoint, it really describes the entire way he went about his redemption; unprompted, on his own will and initiative, and knowing that it suited him best to not do the right thing. Yes, Zelena was manipulating him fully as Ariel, but this was kinda the point. She hit him on his guilt (while pretending she didn't know what he'd really done) and it worked, because that's how deeply his own action had hit him. And I love that scene because he doesn't focus on how bad it was for him (even though he's been wracked by the guilt - he only replies to Ariel's question of "What kind of person does that" and he still admits his emotional state doesn't excuse his actions), but on how wrong and fucked up his action was and that he wished to make things right.

3. The entire scene of Dark Hook in Gold's pawn shop.

Starting from how unhinged he is. And I don't mean it in a "My baby off to destroy people" kinda way, but in a "He fucking hates this mofo who has ruined him emotionally multiple times without a shred of guilt and now all that rage combined with his anger at Emma is coming out at full force because he's way past giving a fuck" kinda way. And Gold knows that, deep down, Hook's feelings are a bit justified - not that he'd admit that, but he understands that, now that Gold is powerless, the times he took advantage of other people by using his powers are going to bite him in the ass. So reluctantly, he accepts Hook's anger and even the duel challenge. And as of Hook, he just doesn't hold anything back. Mentioning his cut hand, Milah's death, Emma becoming the Dark One... And promising to make Gold pay for every single one of those crimes. I remember watching that scene as a sneak peek before the episode had aired and was like "This is what I've wanted to see since 2x04, that's more than three years of my expectations coming true". Of course, as is OUAT's wont, it led to fuck-nowhere, because God forbid they delivered on the things they established, but it still stands as an amazing moment and scene overall.

4. That damn goodbye in "Firebird".

Aka the first of the two times we see Hook cry in the entire show. It's deep and raw and it just makes me wanna scream. For centuries, he's been hiding behind façades and masks, and when he realized he could love and trust again, all of that slowly dropped. He showed more of himself, allowed himself to be emotionally vulnerable. And in this scene, all of that skyrockets. He knows it's the last time he sees Emma (and hopes it's for a long, long time), had his own hope of going back home with her crushed just minutes ago, and he's just so tired of holding it back. So he lets it out. From the moment his voice starts breaking and he starts whispering, to how he caresses Emma's cheek, to how he cries and holds her close, to how he can't hold back his "I love you" when the bars are between them, to how he gives her a devastating smile as he lowers the bar so that the elevator can start taking her away, to how he frantically kisses her hand as she's being taken up, to how he tries to hold on to her hand, to how he stays there, looking at her go, tears literally streaming down his face...

It just fucks me up. I hated that moment when I first watched it, felt it was unnecessary because we had had enough angst already and we all knew he was coming back anyway, but once again OUAT doesn't know about establishing, execution and delivery so as a standalone scene it's agonizing and absolutely beautiful.

5. Goading Gold to kill him in 2x11.

I remember, even at the time I was first watching season two, where I didn't particularly like Hook, how this whole episode changed my perception of him. He doesn't show any satisfaction at what he does; stealing the shawl, threatening Belle, mocking Rumpelstiltskin, shooting Belle... It's all anger and pent up emotions. And he then goads Gold to kill him, cause he just doesn't fucking care. He never did. He only hoped to manage to kill the bastard without any plans of surviving that himself. And Belle didn't believe him when he said that Gold killed Milah, so he takes it upon himself to prove to her what a monster Gold is, how when Hook is completely at his mercy, Gold will just rip his heart out and murder him without a second thought. Like after that point I was mostly confused, didn't know what to think of Hook. In hindsight, though, since it's in the first seasons and the writers had put some effort into their writing, this scene is amazing in establishing Hook's potential for redemption, as weird as that sounds. He's not out for blood out of any sadistic choice. He's just messed up emotionally to the point where he doesn't give a damn about his own life if it means taking Gold down with him. So Belle was wrong; it was a broken heart that led him there, not a rotten one.

As for books, I admittedly am pretty far away from being a bookworm. But I may have a suggestion or two:

My absolute favourite book I've ever read is Perfume: the Story of a Murderer by Patrick Süskind. The narration is outright spectacular. It not only introduces you into the world of scents, something that most of us don't really take into account that much, it bathes you in it, and that even happens from the pov of a protagonist that while at first you feel bad for, you grow to absolutely despise. After a certain point you just know that Grenouille has no chances of becoming a decent person, but the suspense and the description of everything and the twisted ways in which he manages to do what he does drag you into the story and his disturbing actions.

Another one is Northern Lights by Philip Pullman. The first of the His Dark Materials trilogy, and a book I’ve reread many times and always enjoyed. Pullman is amazing in putting you into Lyra's world and despite dealing with serious issues and crimes, still managing to keep you in the worldview of a child focused on saving what's most important to her.

The other ones I’d choose are, as controversial as that may sound, both Battle Royale by Koushun Takami and The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, even though I will simply never believe that the latter wasn’t inspired by the former, as much as the latter author says otherwise. In any case, both books are amazing though violent and disturbing, and each one has something terrific to bring into this world; despite my own doubts about THG not being inspired by BR, I find THG amazing on its own merit.

Sorry for not responding earlier, lol! Had to actually put a lot of thought into which books I’ve loved over the years XD

1. neal cassidy. idk if we'd consider him 'not a main character', but to me, the main characters are the charmings, henry, regina, rumple and hook soooo yes i consider neal a non-main character :)))) i could write essays on how much i love neal cassidy so i will save everyone from reading me scream about him but i love him w my entire heart and he deserved so. much. better.

2. elsa (and anna). i really really loved the frozen arc (i know no one else did but w.e it was so good) and i loved elsa soooooo much. i wish that the sisters stayed in storybrooke and became part of the cast bc emma and elsa's friendship was so sweet and they balanced one another out so well and idk it would've been cute if they all stayed

3. august! i know that the writers would've fucked him up along the way if he had stuck around and joined the charmings crew, BUT i have fallen in love with his character and the possibilities of what storybrooke would've been like had he stuck around as an adult (thanks @bewilderedmoth) also after reading way too much sq fic, august is always emma's best friend/brother and i just wish that we got to see more of that in the show bc i really really loved their banter and i think he would've been a really good person for emma to lean on during all the shit she went through and all of their scenes together were just sooooo good (like look at that gif!! look how CUTE THEY ARE zasxdcfvgbh)

4. ruuubbbyyyyyy! i really thought that ruby would stick around past season 2, i really thought she was a permanent part of the charming crew but she disappeared and i am very sad about that! i loved her friendship w snow and her budding kindof friendship with emma and ugh she was just so cute and i really loved her when she was around. much like august, her character lives on in fic and i am thoroughly happy for that <3

5. merida! honestly i don't remember much about her character bc i have blocked s5 from my memory, but from what i do remember, i really enjoyed her and she was really funny imo lmao

top 5 s1 episodes:

1. the pilot DUH. i remember thinking like 'holy shit this is something no one has ever done before how did no one think of this?!' after watching the pilot and it was just sooooo good. it sucked me in from the first scene and i was like wooow this show is gonna go places lmao

2. hat trick. this was the episode for me. i loved all the episodes leading up to it, but this one was where i was like 'oh my god this show is GOOD'. i loved that it was a fairytale show but that episode dealt w this mad man kidnapping someone and DRUGGING someone and emma being an absolute badass and ugh the chemistry between jennifer morrison & sebastian stan was off the charts and it was just such a good ep. not to mention getting to watch emma be vulnerable for the first time when she calls snow her family cfvghbj just a great episode all around!!

3. red-handed. i had absolutely no idea who ruby was and it was driving me CRAZY bc i figured out everyone else pretty much (besides august, he took way too long for me to figure out lmao) and i loved her backstory and i also loved her coming into her own and "quitting" granny's and helping emma find clues. it was a cute episode!!

4. the stranger. SIMPLY bc of the scene in the woods with emma and august. this show doesn't have the best acting all of the time, but that scene hits different. like i would say that was one of (if not the best) jennifer morrison's best scenes in the entire show and i truly believed she was emma swan and that someone was just recording her, totally forgetting that there was a camera crew there with them and all that. i re-watch that scene on youtube sometimes and it gives me chills!

5. a land without magic. i was starting to get annoyed by emma's total disbelief in the curse and then it just finally happened and i was so happy lmao. it was intriguing to watch her interact w everyone knowing that they were fairytale characters from then on lmao. and also, watching emma & regina team up to save henry is always a good time <3 this TOTALLY isn't a fave episode bc of the strictly platonic heated argument in the closet where emma and regina's faces were 2 inches apart from one another, no waaaaaaaay.

A TV Show Update Nobody Asked For

okay, so with only two months left of this year, I thought I'd make a list of where I am with my current tv shows and what I have planned for the rest of the year. this is mostly for me, to help me keep track, but I also accept recommendations. not including the shows I watch weekly.

Revenge: I've been on this rewatch waaaay too long, but only 12 episodes are left. I fully plan on finishing it this year, hopefully even this month. it was fun to rewatch it.

Elementary: I've been stuck on early s2 of my rewatch for way too long, longer than Revenge. I can't help it, I never liked Mycroft. I plan on watching it, but I'll probably restart it. s1 is my favourite anyway. but it probably won't happen this year.

Being Human: I've been stuck on s2 for a long time, but it just got so boring. the whole thing with the vampires restructuring their hierarchy, Annie appearing and disappearing to humans all the time, and George's werewolf girlfriend whose name I can't remember, these were all storylines I didn't like and watching the show became hard. I might continue at some point, but it won't happen this year.

911 Lone Star: I'm planning a full rewatch before s3 starts in January. right now the plan is December. the exact time will depend on my schedule.

911: I want to rewatch this too, but I might wait until either the mid-season break or until after s5.

Ted Lasso: it's been on my watchlist for a while, and I will definitely watch it sometime during the next two months.

The Librarians: it's been on my watchlist for YEARS. so many years. it's definitely my next big watch. I expect it to go the same way as Leverage: it will take me a long time to start, but once I do, I won't stop.

Nikita: it's been on my watchlist for years too. I keep seeing more and more of it on my dash, so this one depends on when I will get to the point where my bi ass can't take it anymore and I give in

Succession: new item on my watchlist. I keep seeing a lot of gifs, I'll probably start it at some point.

Berlin Station: s1 done, two seasons left. but s1 was quite heavy, so I'll need to be in the right headspace. I expect I can watch s2 this year, s3 probably early next year.

Money Heist: after a long time, I finished s1 and 2 this year and started s3. s3 is unexpectedly boring though, and I stopped after a few episodes. I currently don't have any plans to watch it, I abandoned it, but mom plans on watching it, I might watch it with her.

Teen Wolf: I've been thinking about rewatching it all year, so it's only a matter of time before I say "fuck it" and binge all 6 seasons.

The Romeo Section: it's a new find, I'll start it as soon as it fully downloads.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: I've been meaning to watch it for a while. it's only a matter of finding it in good quality.

Imposters: definitely rewatching in the near future. I miss my idiots.

Liar: I should finish s2, but I would need to rewatch s1 too. probably won't do it this year though, but Q1 next year is likely.

LA's Finest: I plan to rewatch next year.

Mindhunter: I started once, got halfway through ep one, had to stop, never restarted again. idk, I'm losing interest, but if anyone recommends it, I might watch it.

Mr Robot: I started it like... three times? never got past s2. maybe this time I will?

Pushing Daisies: I've wanted to watch this for so long, ever since I saw it on tv. I have it downloaded and ready to watch, I just need one final push.

You Me Her: I've had it downloaded for over a year, but probably won't watch it until next year.

Sense8: definitely rewatching, but probably only next year.

Leverage/Leverage: Redemption: rewatching next year for sure.

My mum's reactions to 9-1-1 episode 2, Let Go

Opening scene: Devon and Chad waiting to get on rollercoaster: "Something bad is going to happen obviously." Well duh mum it's a drama about first responders.

She also asks if I remember that Alton towers (a theme park here in the UK) had a devastating crash on one of its rides a few years ago. Which I do, I then had to pause the episode while she looked up what happened to the victims.

Rollercoaster rescue: Devon falls, my mum gasps pretty loudly and she looks a little misty eyed.

This is the first real death scene and I don't think my mum was expecting one so soon into the season.

Abby meets her Mom's new carer: my mum pretty much instantly likes Carla. As a former carer my mum respects Carla's dimeener and the way she talks and treats Abby's mom Patricia.

My mum knows from experience what it's like to be a carer for people with Alzheimer's and other serious medical conditions, mum says the people she cared for are some the most interesting and lovely people she's ever had the privilege to met.

Athena is dispatched to the dog attack and immediately goes to a drive thru:"What are the burgers for?" Just wait mum.

Athena and Hen use the burgers to distract the dogs: "Oh I get it."

The house owner comes back: "Wait it wasn't the other guy's house? And Athena let him go. That's not good."

Therapy scenes: Athena and Michael: "It's hard to let go of relationships even when you know it can't work anymore"

Buck and his therapist: "what's with all the not quite sex scenes?"

Idk mum but it's awkward watching them with you😬.

"And there's no way they should have ever have had sex. That's messed up."

I agree. The show agrees. The whole fandom agrees.

Carla and Abby talking about Buck: "who's the road warrior?" Mad Max mum you've watched Fury Road. Carla is totally referring to Tom Hardy by the way, (there is a slight resemblance.) (@himbo-buckley and I have had conversations about this)

Mum laughs at Carla agreeing to stay late and have wine with Abby to spite her husband. And at her egging Abby on to phone Buck. She really finds her so funny, my mum rarely laughs at shows that are complete comedy.

Buck and Abby's first phone conversation: "Is it creepy that she's phoned him like that?" To be honest a little bit.

Abby totally broke the rules saving Buck's number, I mean Maddie got suspended for doing something similar in season 3!

Carla convinces Abby to ask Buck out: "He doesn't even know what she looks like! Not that's she's ugly but still he doesn't know that."

Okay so we both find the flirting cringey. (Don't at me that whole conversation is so awkward.)

Buck saying he's starting to realize he has issues with sex and intimacy: My mum: "yeah you do"

Buck: "I had sex with my therapist", Mum: "it was gross"

Buck: "I want to try being friends" (and Abby is happy despite getting a no), Mum: "so they're going to get together then, right?"

Athena finds May: I'm not going to write what she said because it's very personal and for my ears only, but I can say that both my mum and I have been in a similar situation.

Overall, she was definitely more invested in watching this episode than the last, 1) because she wasn't sure if she'd like the show with the first episode, 2) there's a lot more emotional drama in this one and 3) she's really anxious to find out what happened to May.

Mum is now eagerly awaiting the next episode.
