Three favorite ships: I think my favorite ships at any moment change depending on which media I'm currently obsessed with. But I think in general, my top 3 are:

Captain Swan (Emma Swan and Killian Jones) *Canon*

Lumity (Luz Noceda and Amity Blight) *Canon*

Darkstache (Darkiplier and Wilford Warfstache) *Not Canon But It Should Be*

First ship: uhhhhhh...I wanna say my first ships were from Total Drama. But I have NO IDEA which one it was.

Like, yeah, I liked Gwen and Trent (before they broke up) and Duncan and Courtney (before they broke up) and so on, but idk if I "shipped" them, or if I just liked them because they were canon at the time. I guess out of all the pairings I liked, the one that I consider myself actually "shipping" was Aleheather (Alejandro and Heather).

Last movie: I recently rewatched the Steven Universe Movie with some of my friends! Yeah it's not perfect but it's still fun and has some banger music (and Spinel is best character fight me).

Ok but for real I haven't read much since the semester ended. My honors history class had us do a LOT of reading and I was like uhhhhmmmmm.....

BUT, I think the last thing I read for that class was part of "Utopia for Realists" by Rutger Bregman. It was one of the few readings for that class that actually interested me and gave me a new perspective on poverty and how it affects people in ways we don't usually think about. I may finish it some day idk.

Currently watching: Rewatching episodes of Spongebob and the og iCarly with my sister. I also saw a few episodes of the new iCarly too. Apparently Spencer has 11 kids???

I saw S1 EP 8 of Helluva Boss when it came out (twice), and I heard the next episode of season 2 is coming out on Saturday!

But mostly I've been watching stuff on YouTube.

(I really need to finish OUAT with my mom and the reaosn why we haven't is because the series finale is all that's left and we're both like 'if we don't finish the show it'll never be over' and it's just aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH)

Currently craving: I've been craving slushies for the past couple of weeks. I got a cherry one yesterday from an ice cream truck at my town's 4th of July celebration and it was gooood.

Hi! For the ask game. For your delightful Shadow Queen fic, Breakfast, how do you think Regina's relationship with Facilier developed over time from the point where your fanfiction diverged from canon to the story itself?

Edit: OH, MY FUCKING GOD! I just noticed this was in the queue. I thought I posted it. So sorry for that! I definitely was not ignoring this ask! I've had it written since August 30th. I don't know what happened.

Hi! Glad you like the fic!

To be fair, I don't really have anything deep about him (obviously) deciding to abandon his quest for power in favor of his relationship with Regina. I was kind of riding on the proof in the show that he would put Regina and her feelings over everything else. His interest in the dagger was completely unmotivated and I think they just had it as a built-in setup for killing him off. I imagine the idea was that he was somehow tempting Regina into her old patterns of wanting everything and reverting to villainy (much the same as Rumple manipulating her for the better part of her life, especially since Facilier was practically Rumple 2.0) except that that went nowhere because he was just So. Good! for her. I'm really not sure what happened in the writers' room but anyway, my idea with the story was just "axe the moment of Facilier's death because it was stupid (and more than questionable) and from there it will all happen naturally since the dagger is also gone once Rumple dies". Those were pretty much the only obstacles between them and with them removed, I really think that the two of them would have been a couple.

I wish I could give a more detailed answer but, truly, Facilier had so little screen time and development that we are completely in the dark on his story or his motives. Instead, I just rolled with him being written as total husband material. You know, I am willing to entertain the idea that there might have been some need to process emotions and heal from Robin's death on Regina's side simply for the realization that the universe sent her Facilier after Daniel's death and then returned him to her after Robin's death. Almost as if they were meant to be together (btw, I have a sort of meta/kinda rewrite about the whole soulmate story with Robin that would bridge canon and this nicely but I'll have to work on it some other time) and help her find herself again when she feels like she's lost in grief.

august vs baelfire? - ooooof. honestly, i love august but neal is one of my top 5 favorite characters. i love them both for very different reasons. they both fucked emma over so i dislike them both for that, but they both redeemed themselves and tried to do right by her - i just feel neal's redemption arc was better/more deserving. & tbh i feel his character was taken away from us too soon and in a very idiotic way and he deserves to be alive and the father henry needed/deserved... so long story short, neal > august!

ruby vs mulan? - mulan just wasn't enough of a character for me to feel anything towards her so ruby, 100%!

enchanted forest vs arendelle? - i am such a huge frozen arc fan, but the enchanted forest trumps arendelle anyday! so many things happened in the enchanted forest and i just love the early seasons flashbacks and everything.

season 2 vs season 4? - season 2 a thousand percent. season 4a is everything to me, i loved the frozen arc sfm, but the whole queens of darkness and all that was just not my vibe. i loved emma's deterioration into darkness tbh but everything else... just no. season 2 was amazing! emma and snow being stuck in the ef, the introduction of neverland, NEAL! honestly, season 2 is probably my favorite season.

cruella vs maleficent? - i really didn't like cruella at all oops her story was boring and the queens of darkness did nothing for me. maleficent all day every day!

10. Fears/phobias

Alice definitely fears being alone. And I don't mean being in her own company because she can definitely be independent and quite at peace with herself. But she fears never being able to be a part of the world, to be forgotten, to never have any human connection, to always be on the inside looking out. She's scared of being confined or trapped in any way, so I think she'd have a form of claustrophobia.

I think she also fears being unwanted or abandoned. Too many people in life have shunned her for her idiosyncrasies and bouncy energy, including her own mother at birth after Alice no longer served a purpose, if you can even call Gothel that. Her papa endlessly loved her and stayed by her side until he was poisoned, but Alice harshly found that reality was not like that. I believe she found family and friendship in Wonderland, but she lost them all just as quick. Very few people tried to understand her; most either ignoring her or took a liking to call her names, a thing I can assume as we could see in Tilly's self deprecating tone when she was about to leave Hyperion Heights and Margot caught her talking to the Troll statue. I think currently, she mainly fears the loss of her loved ones in general, always worrying about their health, especially since the multiple scares she had with Papa Killian while the Poisoned Heart Curse was still intact.

16. Dark secrets/’skeletons in the closet’

Dark secrets? Well, Alice isn't as happy go lucky as she makes herself out to be. Sure, she's naturally bubbly, but sometimes, it's a front for the overwhelming sadness she can't get rid of some days, when she feels like nothing can go right and she's not worthy of all the kindness people give her. What comes out in bursts on her bad days and doesn't last long is her anger whenever she's grumpy or lashes out, mostly to her stuff animals or to herself of things she couldn't change from the past, time lost, things she had to experience later in life or never had. I think she'll rarely talk about all the trauma from the experiences she went through either in the Jabberwock attack or in other realms. I headcanon that Alice has been to Neverland, met Pan, and managed to get out with luck and loopholes in his logic, but she won't tell her papa that.

18. Things they’ll never admit

Alice usually says what's on her mind but I doubt she'll ever admit how much she wants to happy cry over all the small things in life like being cared for, valued for her thoughts, or sharing a warm meal with her papa, Robin, or Zelena, no matter how much she knows she shouldn't have to worry that it's not the new normal. She spent most of her life as Alice and Tilly having to watch her own back and never knowing who to trust, despite her nature wanting to rely on others.. Alice will never admit when she's lying because her mischievous side likes watching other people's reactions, making her feel like she has the upper hand in conversations.

20. What-ifs/Alternate Timelines

I assume in another life, she would have been the main Guardian. If Rumple had given had let her do the dagger transfer process, she'd be the same Alice Jones, protected by her guardianship, able to vanquish the darkness once and for all, but end up being blessed/cursed with immortality and even stronger magical powers. It would be an invisible tower as she'd watch everyone she loves disappear with time and be unable to run from her predicament. In a what if scenario, related to the dark books Wish Rumple was ready to trap them in, Alice could have become the Dark One, unprotected by Guardianship, choosing the darkness to get back to her papa. Haha, gonna add my AU fanfic into this answer, but I seriously see so many characteristics in her being strong in the face of adversity, so I think she'd make a great Cinderella *wink wonk*.

Ahhh, honestly, I think the cruelest twist of fate in my headcanons is if Alice wasn't ever given reunited with her papa or met Robin in any form, I imagine her surrendering to anger, becoming unforgiving and losing hope. Gothel eventually finds her to check on her Guardianship, breaking her free at the right time, and taking advantage of her vulnerabilities as her "mother", coming back to her when "she could". All the lies Gothel would tell and Alice would cling to, fearing being abandoned again and hoping to make the wise woman proud, no matter what the consequences were.

10. Favorite backstory

I have a few. There’s my answer for that particular day (Red is really the Wolf). But I also enjoy the backstory between Snow and Regina well as Ingrid’s (Snow Queen’s) backstory as well. 

13. Most powerful scene

I think it’s the final scene, where Regina is crowned the Good Queen and everyone celebrates as we get that final pan over the different realms featured in the show over its run. And then the shot of the sign saying “Leaving Storybrooke” really had me choking up. 

14. Favorite battle

I think it’s still the battle between Regina and Zelena at the farmhouse, where she uses white magic and really becomes a hero rather than a villain. 

19. Saddest death

Robin’s. While he died a hero protecting the woman he loved, it was ultimately pointless. Regina didn’t need to lose another chance at love and it seemed like the writers just didn’t know what to do with him. And that’s a shame because he was frigging Robin Hood.

Thanks! I'm just worried about this because I'm so rusty when it comes to the OUAT fandom but let's see.

1. the character everyone gets wrong

You know what? I'm gonna come out and say it - Facilier. The sheer amount of people I saw hemming and hawing about whether or not he was good for Regina because "he's a villain" and "has some hidden agenda" is absolutely appalling. Like, wtf do you mean is he good for her? He's literally the best! He is the only person on the show that's consistently put Regina over himself and his own wants. Like, I know he didn't have a lot of time to mess up but honestly, I don't think that even the writers understood him. He was giving off such strong Rumplestiltskin 2.0 vibes, which is the reason why I think the fandom had this reaction to him, and the writers really kind of went that way when he was even killed by Wish Rumple for wanting the dagger. It was a total waste of a perfectly good, intriguing character, not to mention husband material. Facilier deserved better treatment by everyone. Shadow Queen also deserved better!

8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about

Oh, god, I have no idea what's common.

Oh... Oh, fuck, now I wish I hadn't thought about this but...

People hating on season 7, usually without even having seen it. I think season 7 is my favorite season. There were plot lines that were unnecessary or got derailed or just didn't go anywhere but there was so much fresh stuff in there as well.

Usually, people don't even want to give it a chance because most of the og cast isn't even in there and I understand that because I hate big changes in my shows as well but the truth is that the writers had no idea what to do with the og cast since around the end of season 3 and they were clearly unwilling to spin a different angle to these characters and they were bringing in a new set of characters every half season. It only made sense to get more new characters and let them stay for a longer time.

Really, Henry, Ella and Lucy are precious, Wish Killian and Alice are one of the best parent-child relationships on the show, Alice and Robin are perfect and I think that Lady Tremaine and Gothel are some of the most ruthless villains of the show. There's a lot of raw emotion and fun twists and even if it doesn't end up being people's favorite, I think they should at least give it a chance.

19. you're mad/ashamed/horrified you actually kind of like...

I'm kinda mad that I was into the Cruella x Isaac clusterfuck of a relationship (if it can even be called that). On the one hand, they are not compatible at all. But on the other hand, he is so much of a slimy worm that he somehow manages to match her in horribleness and villainy; he's just on the other side of the spectrum, the pathetic wet cat side. There were clearly feelings. Extremely fucked up feelings. It really is like you're preparing to watch a car crash in slow motion but then you end up being ran over by the car instead, which is a perfect description for them. And that leads me to the fact, that her signature car was actually his first? Oh... oh, I hate the writers for this. Now I'm sold and there's no getting out.

22. your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores

I guess the tension between Regina x Rumple. Now this is kind of the opposite of question #8 in that the majority of the fandom is correct that s6 Golden Queen was a mistake and, frankly, kind of disgusting and I am saying this as someone whose first ship from the show was Golden Queen. Season 6 absolutely ruined everything that I enjoyed about the ship in favor of what? Them having sex? With zero of the actual appeal of their relationship being involved? And they still could have done something good with that! The fact is that Rumple was treating the queen like a puppet for his plans and that's exactly what she was! That's why he created her. But they should have added more about her being more of a mirror reflection of his. I don't want to write a whole analysis of their dynamic here because I was actually saving that for a meta post (as soon as I find the time to work on it) but the truth is that Regina learned all of her weapons, all of her villainy from him. Even her mannerisms. And now that the little remaining good inside her is gone and there's no conscience to hold her back, she could be even more like Rumple. But at the same time, she's a broken reflection of the situation with Baelfire, who was trying to help Rumple only to be abandoned. And Regina discarded the Evil Queen like trash. Also, another good angle here because Regina practically decided that everything she learned from Rumple was useless. They could have shown him be at least a little attached to the queen on merit of that.

But the thing is that the tension between Rumple and Regina comes from her good parts, the ones that remained with Regina after the split. And that tension has been there all along. He had to take every last thing from her in order to force her to cast the Curse, no matter how bitter and evil he'd managed to make her over the years. He had to crush her hope completely until the only thing that could rekindle it was casting the Curse. Which is the exact same situation that he's in - the Curse is his only hope to find his son. And even after that, Regina is still doing better than he is! And he knows that! The best example of that is his line in 2x09 when he says "One day maybe they'll even invite you to dinner". Because she did what he couldn't - put her own feelings aside to do what is best for her child. There is a tiny bit of goodness inside her persisting no matter what he's doing and that is driving him insane because it is a constant source of problems for him. It took him years - decades - to make her cast the Curse, her trust in Henry really slapped him in the face with his failures where his own son was concerned, her interference in getting revenge on Zelena for killing his son, her sacrifice for Henry undoing his happy ending in 4x22, her splitting herself eventually leading to even more issues between him and Belle. And on the other hand, Regina's attachment to him has gotten her in so many problems but, ultimately, his mistakes and schemes are what got her Henry - the biggest happiness in her life (and he almost killed Henry several times but that's the point exactly). Still, after all of that, they both gravitate towards each other and there's this kind of understanding between them because in certain ways they're similar, but there's also resentment because of the ways in which they're different. It makes for an extremely compelling dynamic and people are so quick to brush it off.

Orchid -> what’s a song you consider to be perfect?

Perfect? Ooh, that’s a bit hard. But I think I have to go with “My Heart Will Go On” from Titanic. Even if you remove it from the movie, it stands on its own and just makes you believe in love. The lyrics are beautiful. And then when the music swells and Celine Dion starts belting “You’re here, there’s nothing I fear...” it still sends chills down my spine. 

Sage -> what “medium” of art (poetry, music, fiction, paintings, statues, etc.) is the most touch to you? why do you think that is?

Hmm...while fiction is my preferred medium to make art, I think the medium I find most touching is music. I love listen to different genres and it amazes me how music can easily speak to my emotions. How it can elicit feelings or memories. I just love it. 

Mahonia -> what place, thing, activity inspires you most and how do you express yourself when it does?

I get a lot of ideas while doing a lot of movement, like walking or running. I also get really inspired when I’m in Disney World. And so I usually go back and start writing, even if I’m fighting to keep my eyes open.

#FantasyIndiesSeptember- MC's skills @intothewickedwoods @chesneyinfalt Sare from my WIP, An Impossible Dream, has a great many skills. She can read, which is unusual for someone of her background. Her half-truths are unparalleled. She's good at sneaking around when she needs to be. And she can "play the game," as many character put it. One of my favorite moments that showcase some of her other skills, though, is the card game between her and Elsbie. #TheMoonStardustandSkychallenge @themidnight_novelist #TransformationTuesday It's sometimes hard to keep track of drafts while I write because of the way I write. Be, the first book in the series, had more than two banker boxes full of drafts for that novel. Mostly, though, I write what comes, a lot of times by hand in my notebooks. Then, I transfer that into the manuscript on my laptop, editing and shifting things as I go. When I feel I have most of it down, I begin quilting the different parts together, again editing and shifting. I read through with more edits once it is complete. Then it's off to beta readers and editors, and another read through for me. Constantly my stories evolve and transform. #WriterFriendsChallenge- The information I need ahead of time when writing depends greatly on the book I'm working on. For Sare's story, I knew her name and her relation to one of the MC's in the first book. Sometimes, though, I start a story with even less information. I'm a pantser, so I learn about the characters and I research as the story unravels.
