Judai:

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a Yu-Gi-Oh fan. For whatever reason, this series imprinted on me when I was a child and I just never let it go. I've watched the original series, season 0, GX, 5Ds, and Arc V, as well as read the original manga, the GX manga, and the Arc V manga, as well as watched all the movies. The point is: I like Yu-Gi-Oh. There are people who like it more than me, that have watched all the series and what not, but I think I still like it an absurd amount. And out of all the protagonists I know, Judai is my favorite. He's just so lovable, you can't help but like him! He's goofy, he's reliable, he's fun, he has a descent into madness, he's gay, what more could you want in a shounen protagonist? Though being sleepy isn't a major part of him, it's more of a gag of him slacking in class and always going to sleep, it's still super funny and I'm a little sad that he lost in Round 1, though I do like Sonic as well (who he lost to). Give the Slifer Slacker a chance!

Linhardt:

Considering Linhardt is my profile picture at the moment, I don't think I need to justify this too much. But I will anyway. Linhardt is the sleepy crest scholar. Although I will be the first to admit that I am not actually a Fire Emblem fan (and tbh I find the writing in Three Houses kind of bad) (sorry to those who enjoy it) I love Linhardt so much anyway. He's probably my favorite in that very large cost. I love that he's so unapologetically sleepy, like he doesn't care if you scold him to do work, he will do work on his own time. Not only that, but he's actually really smart and dedicated when he wants to be. Linny's friendship with Caspar is really nice, especially since I think someone needs to save Caspar from his awful dad & self-destructive tendencies. Plus, I really like his supports. Especially with Marianne, Hubert, and Edelgard. His supports with Dorothea in Three Hopes is also really nice.

Garfield:

It's Garfield. He's a classic comic. He's a classic meme. Little orange kitty. What more could you possibly want? I love Snoopy, but to be perfectly honest I think Garfield should have gotten as far as Snoopy.

Sleepytime Tea Bear:

Again. He's just a classic. What more would you want but a sleepy bear in pajamas on a chair?

Olruggio:

I'm a big Witch Hat Atelier fan and I love Olruggio. Like yes, I like Orufrey like everyone else, but I also just like Olruggio on his own. I like his scruffy little look and I love the fact that at first he is so intimating but almost immediately he's revealed to be a big softie. I love his light magic motif and I really think it's sweet that he made the thing to keep you warm when you sleep and gave it to the kids-- he's a FATHER. This man needs a nap fr though. Man I need to catch up with this manga.

Osaka:

IT'S OSAKA. Like!!! I don't even know how many clips and comics from Azumanga Daioh make the rounds around Tumblr, but specifically the ones about Osaka are amazing!!! She has the most autistic anime girl swag I love her so much. She's so sweet and earnest and silly... I always lose my mind at "OH MAH GOD!" and she has so many other classics. Like when she makes the Osaka stamp with her eraser or when she struggles to cross the street because she keeps zoning out when the light gets green or when she's distressed about Americans wearing shoes inside... I love her. And to her sleepyheadness, she's always falling asleep in class and whenever she's studying she just starts falling asleep. She's just like me fr...

Takane:

Back in the day I really liked Kagerou Project and so as tribute to my old obsession from middle/high school I have to give a spot to Takane. My favorite part of the series was when we saw flashbacks to the Yuukei quartet and Headphone Actor is still a bop.

Tanaka:

THE REASON WHY I STARTED THIS TOURNAMENT IN THE FIRST PLACE??? Last December during finals I decided to read something light and fun while working and I chose Tanaka-kun is Always Listless because I remember the title from a few years ago when the anime came out and like I loved it SOOOOOO much. He's the ultimate sleepyboy and he's just so funny and relatable. He needs to be carried around by his best friend Ohta and his ultimate goal in life is to minimize as much effort as possible and he's always nodding off and he dislikes being a main character, instead wishing he was a background character... my favorite guy for real.

I talked briefly about this on the previous post, but I have this story on the Spaceman and Starchild that I plan around while I’m sleeping (I don’t have anywhere to write it down but still remember all of it) can’t really explain how my brain works BUUT what I can do is tell you the story!

Since I can’t write, feel free to borrow or steal any of my ideas since I’m probably never using them (unless I decide to make an illustrated novel/webcomic or something, but don’t expect anything from me)

Starchild is a lonely alien living in what’s left of the only planet that used to orbit him before he became a Star being (basically a living star going boom supernova and transforming into a humanoid). His only “company” is a woman who visits him in his dream, to whom he refers to as The Elder (It’s kinda like a parent child relationship, she’s the star that “gave birth” to him, get it? Star-child? I’m really smart, I know). He can see the future but since nothing ever happens to him, there’s nothing to predict… UNTIL

He has a dream about laying down on a dark, grassy field staring up at the sky, as he usually did, but this time, the stars that were always so far away, appeared to be curiously looking back at him, eager to know what was going to happen. Among them, there was a bigger, brighter blue light that appeared to be coming towards him. Scared, he tried to reach out to the elder, but she didn’t answer, right before the light got to him, he woke up

After waking up, Starchild just brushed it off as a strange dream and decided to take a walk. He eventually found himself sitting on a familiar looking field, he looked up, but everything seemed normal except for an unusual light out in the distance who appeared to be getting closer. Is it a shooting star? Is it a spaceship? Is it a… COMET?

It crashed right beside him, and when he opened his eyes, there it was. A frozen ice rock sitting right beside him, but when he looked up at it, there was something, someone sitting on top of it

A strange man looked back at him with a smile

There’s more but It’s not completely set in stone, I just know I want Spaceman to take Starchild to see earth and have fun adventures with him + Catman and Fox

They were really close friends that like to travel together, then one day they got turned into animals by an ankh wizard while visiting Egypt (also not set in stone but I really want Vinnie to make an appearance)

After their shared traumatic experience, they become practically brothers, learning how to live with their powers and animalistic needs

I wanted to maybe add a Demon cameo but idk where he could fit 🤘

Okay, so you know who I’ve always thought should really be into fantasy and DnD? Asher, and since canon hasn’t yet confirmed he loves these things, you can be his introduction!

The combination of your personality types and your being a writer gives me the image of an emotional and emotionally intelligent person, which I think is a good match for Asher who is also pretty emotionally intelligent! I think your vibes would really match, and together you two could be, like, the heart of the Shaw Pack as the Beta and his mate. Also, Asher is some sort of flavor of neurodivergent, and I love making ND4ND pairs, ya know?

Your life together would be so FUN, I’m actually jealous. Gothic Horror HCs But Using The Penny Dreadful Versions As Well Cus I Like Them

Hello, So recently I have been really obsessed with 1800s gothic horror literature.

My favorite books are (in order);

1. Frankenstein The Modern Prometheus

2. The Picture Of Dorian Gray

3. The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde

4. Dracula

So imagine my fucking excitement when I heard there was a show that used THOSE EXACT FOUR BOOKS!!!!

Anyway I thought I'd take the time to talk about my favorite characters from the books/show and hcs I have for them all.

Now massive Trigger Warning for some ableism/sanism from the victorian era but also current day, and also queermisia.

All of these characters are canon ND I believe based off of their canon "madness" and I also believe they were all queer men.

Victor Frankenstein

Victor is a trans man you must understand this. He literally has postpartum depression in the book. He is also forced into an arranged marriage with a woman but has so much more chemistry with his best friend Henry Clerval. I think he's gay and his love for both Elizabeth and Lilly are just comphet. (He loves Elizabeth like a sister tho).

Victor is also disabled in the book. In Penny Dreadful he also has asthma! I also hc Victor is autistic. In the book he has a special interest in alchemy and science. He info dumps about poetry and clocks a lot in Penny Dreadful lmao. He's also just awkward like me fr fr. There was also a rlly funny scene in Penny Dreadful where everyone noticed this one character was a trans woman and made a "face" of surprise. Victor never did because honestly I don't think he fucking noticed. Which made me laugh because I didn't either.

Dorian Gray

This man is just me sometimes and I kinda hate it. Definitely has BPD. He treats life as a fantasy and has a hard time applying reality to reality. He also will love you one second and can hate you so passionately the next. Henry Wotton is most definitely his favorite person. There's also an entire chapter in the book dedicated to talking about his hyperfixations. Dorian is also bisexual! He falls in love with a few women in the book and Penny Dreadful. But also many men! Oscar Wilde was gay and put a lot of himself into Dorian lmao.

Henry Jekyll

Look the guy with daddy issues. Seriously out of all the things they chose to adapt for Penny Dreadful this made me laugh the most (in a good way). It's a random throwaway line in the book but I'm glad they kept it because his father leads to Henry's toxic mindset. Henry feels the need to be respectful in high society and not indulge his "indecent" thoughts. These thoughts include things like murder but also homosexual desires. The man is gay, love that for him. Don't let the musical fool you. I think his other violent thoughts come from OCD intrusive thoughts. As a median system I do also relate to the duality he feels. But I also would be careful ever putting a plural reading on Jekyll and Hyde for obvious reasons.

Robert Montague Renfield

Oh Renfield so much to say about you my man. (This is where that TW comes in handy)

Ok so the R.M. of his name standing for "Robert Montague" is ONLY from the new 2023 movie "Renfield". Renfield never had a first name because Bram Stoker was an ableist dick who saw Renfield as less than human for his mental illness. So out of spite of him and love for Renfield I hc his name to be Robert in all versions. This isn't to praise the new movie for its handle on mental illness though. While I absolutely adore the movie and it's camp and message I can't look past the ableism. It constantly demonizes NPD and for the topic of our discussion writes out Robert's mental illness. Robert in the book has psychosis and periods of mania and depression. Honestly I'll have to reread his sections of the book soon and see if I change my opinion because I had a hard time thinking of a label for him. Anyway I think he has Bipolar! But this is why I prefer Penny Dreadful over Renfield 2023 for the character. He gets to be mentally ill and still do a good thing and be just like everyone else in the show (not good or bad, just gray). On the topic of Renfield 2023 again I also think they (Drac and Ren) are ex lovers lmao, I mean it's literally framed like that they just don't have the balls to say it. I now just read every version like this. So yes another Bi king! Wow this ended up mainly being about Renfield whoops.

So yeah as you can see I really like the books and Penny Dreadful. I loved that Penny Dreadful wasn't scared to make its characters ND coded like a certain someone *cough* Renfield 2023 *cough* and be faithful to the OGs!

Anyway I'm not a medical professional lmao, I've just researched a lot of stuff trying to figure out my own problems and it's also smth I take an interest in. The queer stuff I am a professional tho /j.

what made you pick up the current muse(s) you have?

uhm well i've been obsessed w/ this band & these characters ( especially 2D ) since i was a wee teenager,,,,,, his muse kinda came out of nowhere after a few years of being quiet & ran me over. he does not have a license.

is there anything you don’t like to write?

well obviously i wont write anything reprehensible or nasty but just like, surface level?? not that i can think of. it depends who / what muses im writing with, too.

is there anything you really enjoy writing?

any opportunity i can get to swim around 2D's head & make him retrospective is always a good time. i love exploring the complex thoughts characters have that we, as an audience, don't really get to see often -- or only catch glimpses of. i like getting messy & philosophical with it. but ofc angst tropes i adore, as well as found family. certain ships with 2D i also wouldnt mind exploring.

how do you come up with headcanons?

a lot of it is lived experience, i think. it'll be like "this character is just like me fr" & then i'll think of ways to make them even MORE like me. it's nice to see yourself represented, even in little ways. but sometimes i'll be inspired by fanfictions, music, tv shows . . . like i listened to an old panic! song & came up with a hc for 2D that way lmao. sometimes i'll just see humans doing human things & relate it to characters. my mind just doesn't shut up tbh

do you write in silence or do you play music?

always music. i feel like i'll pass out if i don't have some kind of sound going on constantly

do you plan your replies or wing them?

9 times out of 10 i'm winging it. sometimes, especially with first time interactions with muses from different fandoms or oc's i do some planning -- just to kind of get a grasp on who the other person is playing & how 2D would interact with them, or how their worlds would intersect. but if i worry too long it just makes me anxious haha so i just try to have fun with it & hope everyone else does, too!

hi, can you write a dico x fem!reader who is just like him. they are best friends but also a couple. they are always laughing & joking around, doing skits, having rap/roast battles, doing stunts, etc together. the others constantly teasing them about how they are same person and outsides would never be able to tell they are a couple.

WHY IS HE LIKE THIS. taihii the most insane ship dynamic ever. POPPY MY BELOVED <33333 the character songs are So Good. i like real game and the taddle legacy theme a normal amount. 4. daiji/kamen rider live (bonded with this guy 6 episodes into revice its insane. this character is insane. i need to hug him. his fucking character song is therapy for me. KAGERO YOU FUCKING EMO EBOY. daijis vcinema is so good and i felt so much. i love the evililtylive suit despite the stupid name. i just love daiji in general and i dont ever think about how his actor is the same age as me <3)

Yeah I remember Zach (Jacob’s actor) saying about half the game was cut and so that’s probably the cause of all the faults I noticed. (Like how Abby’s death scene in glitched. She can die and still appear as a “bitten” survivor or she can survive the entire game without getting bit or dying, yet still be marked as bitten at the end of the game. The lack of polish is just really bad.) At least UD was in development for years and had dozens of reworks and delays to make it a good product. Yes ugh I hate that male readers have to fight for fem reader to be the specification instead of “x reader” meaning male or female reader depending on who the fic features (it’s usually the opposite reader of the gender of the character it’s about.) And typically “x reader” defaults to female no matter what. I know it sounds contradictory but it’s true.

And it’s in season! Wally knows the struggle of finding underwear to fit him (so he usually doesn’t wear it) and even pants struggle to contain all that. (going back to the teasing by ripping his pants/shorts) And I will! I suck at digital art but we must soldier through for the brainrot🫡 (and practice because you can get better without it)

hmm. in recent history i think it's a profound shame that Nope (2021) was completely shut out from the most recent academy awards. movie of the year in MY eyes. and All the Beauty and the Bloodshed should have won best documentary. Naomi Watts' performance in Mulholland Dr. (2001) is oscar-worthy to me. in part of my googling to find out if movies i like have been nominated for anything i came to find out that Heat (1995) was not nominated for a single academy award??? which is blasphemous i think

42. A movie that made you go 'wtf was that'

ok even though i technically answered this one already there are so many more weird movies i have seen so i will gladly talk about another. i went to see a film called Sometimes Aunt Martha Does Dreadful Things (1971) at a little arthouse theater near me back in february because i thought 'funny that this place is playing some sleazy 70s trash horror movie i would probably like' and OH BOY that movie is a wild ride. imagine if you will john waters and herschell gordon lewis got together and made a hippie-sploitation slasher with some melodrama leanings that was left to simmer in the florida everglades. there's some super wacky psychedelic editing choices in the killing scenes that really took me out. overall just a weird little gem that i haven't seen many people talk about so i thought this was a good opportunity to mention it >:)

probably Design for Living (1933)! i love ernst lubitsch films. tod browning's Dracula (1931) is also a favorite since i love vampire movies & bela lugosi's dracula is one of the cinematic blueprints for representations of the vampire obv. and i mean he's just so charming!! john cassavetes' A Woman Under the Influence (1974) because i know it will ruin me emotionally. i've been putting off watching Martyrs (2008) for ages because even though i like gory bloody movies i fear that one is a whole other level of intensity. and i've never seen the original Friday the 13th (1980), which is big for 80s horror and horror franchises (both of which i enjoy) but it truly just looks so boring to me i've just watched most of the other films from that period around it instead lol

I was tagged by the lovely @aeide in the 10 favorite movies challenge!

Gladiator. No movie will ever make me feel the way this movie does -- it is just pure happiness for me that is evoked whenever it starts playing. Don't even get me started on the soundtrack too!! Also Joaquin Phoenix makes for some amazing eye candy in this film :D

2. Wonder Woman (2016). This is another movie that rocked my world. When it dropped in 2016, I was still a teenager and it literally changed my whole perception of myself and I adore it to this day. Also love that the actress who plays Hippolyta looks IDENTICAL to my Mom and I lowkey look like Wonder Woman; so it made it extra special :)

3. Avatar: The Way of Water. This movie was INSANE. My jaw was on the floor the entire time with the graphics/CGI and the acting was insane. While I am not super invested in the series/lore, this movie always comes to mind when I think of best movies I have ever seen. I am genuinely SO psyched for the next movie in this series.

4. The Blues Brothers. I was raised on this movie so it holds a special place in my heart.

5. Monty Python and the Holy Grail. No movie has ever made me cry laughing before besides this one (and Life of Brian). A+ jokes that I quote to this day.

6. Monty Python; Life of Brian. Same as above but make it Roman.

7. 300. Classicists forgive me.. I hate this movie with a BURNING passion but the only thing that makes me include this movie on my tier list is the killer soundtrack and the hotness that is Gerard Butler. (Hope I get me a man like that fr fr). Other than that, it is a positive cringefest for every history fan!

8. All Quiet on the Western Front. This was a movie that was amazingly shot and had me thinking about for days after. Absolutely heart wrenching.

9. Brokeback Mountain. Gay cowboys, my beloved. Hurts the heart but we love it (especially since I grew up on a farm and have always ridden horses/been exposed outright to cowboy culture).

9. Woman in Gold. I love this movie and I love the art of Gustav Klimt so so much. Making this post reminded me that I am overdue for a rewatch of the film!!!!

10. Alien: Prometheus. I think my best friend would have my head if I didn't add this one in.. Soundtrack is amazing and I love the lore of the universe! (I am also horrified of David :) )

A random headcanon: i was talking abt this w a friend last night i think he fucking sucks at video games. like he has a console of some sort but hes just rly not great at gaming he doesnt rly have the right coordination for it and he gets bored too fast. he shows lio how to play some game of his and lio immediately picks it up and surpasses his skill level rly quickly and galos like god damn. my gamer boyfriend :)
