MCU/Marvel Characters Tag Game

blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most):

Tony duhhh. I'm not even kidding when I say i can legitimately write an essay on how much I love him <3 + he's the one that got me into MCU/Marvel in general. He's such a complex character and the things that really made me admire him the most are when he conquers his personal demons. One of the things that I love about him the most is that he just tries to be good, and there's just something so inherently human about it that you don't really see in other popular superheroes. And while his actions/decisions may sometimes be vilified by people, I've always empathised with what he does because I (and Steve LOL, see that Captain America/Iron Man Annual (2021) Issue #2) feel that his heart has always been in the right place. I can go on and on about him, but I once saw someone say this about Tony (especially 616!Tony i.e.) is that while all superheroes are willing to risk their lives for a noble purpose, Tony's willing to sell his soul.

Yelena <33 honestly I started liking her before Black Widow came out just on the basis that she's canonically asexual in 616 + I saw that Florence Pugh was gonna play her in MCU. And hello??? A badass Russian assassin who can kill people with her bare hands and has the same sexuality as me?? Listen, there's not a lot of asexual characters out there okay, and when they are, they're not exactly in a media that I would want to watch (I literally cannot force myself to watch something just on that basis alone so). While watching Black Widow, I was just so smitten by her!! Look at her, she's so cute!! A squishy lil baby that i wanna cuddle with and give kisses all over her face <33

Kate!! Idk, is she underrated? I don't venture out much bc I like being in this stevetony fandom bubble so idk if she is or not <3 but cmon, look at her and how can you not ADORE her?? she has a good sense of humour, she just wants to do her best in helping the people around her and she's so relatable LOLOLOL bc if I were to ever meet Tony (yes ik he's not real, im not actl insane guys even though I've said I am 100000 times), I would NOT be cool also and would just follow him around the same way she did with Clint

glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week) :

poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave):

Wanda. She IS controversial (in MCU) and I get it because of reasons that I wouldn't be able to explain as clearly as someone else (im incoherent 99% of the time). I'd love to be able to say that I have a strong moral compass that points North all the time to be able to not like her, but I can't help but do. I didn't like her before WandaVision, however, I do blame the writers for that and wished they didn't write her MCU origins the way they did!!! UGH!!! But yeah, the part that made me start liking her in Wandavision was that last episode where the townspeople were confronting her for her actions and she was just crying because she finally realised that her actions are hurting people. And I guess im just excited to see where her character arc is going to go, and I'm fine if MCU wants to make it a redemption arc or a corruption arc because (to me) she's complex and interesting enough for it.

horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason):

Tony, of course, horse plinko should always be your blorbo <333 i just love seeing my favourite characters (in whatever fandom) be tormented <333 you think Marvel has tortured him enough? Yeah, well I like to see fic writers hurt him 10x worse bc he suffers beautifully okay? Have u seen those panels of 616!Tony just full-on crying/bleeding/bruised (with a full-on existential crisis to boot) and mcu!tony with the bruises on his face and tears in his eyes??

1. Tifa Lockhart (Final Fantasy 7/Advent Children/Final Fantasy 7 Remake)

what can i say about tifa? that she stole my heart way back when i found out about her in advent children and she was one of the first cosplays I actually spent time on? or that i genuinely love tifa as a character who has such a good, soft heart and backs it up with her fists? or that i accidentally based one of my very first ocs off of her fighting style??? nah. nevermind.

2. Sophie Hatter (Howl’s Moving Castle- book version)

do i need to justify this one? next

ok but really. When I read the book in middle school after seeing the ghibli film? i about cried. that stuff about being the eldest and “not being destined to go on adventures”? that hit me HARD. that was who i was and the WHOLE story was just so. she was so! good! SO GOOD! and having her own type of magic but not KNOWING that it was magic just...doing things the way she knew how to do things! keeping her own curse on herself because of not only the freedom it gave her but the fear that came from being a young woman....bro. BRO!!!!!

also she’s moronsexual. that’s a big mood.

3. Fenris (Dragon Age 2)

yall knew this was coming. okay. i just love that 1. he has totally justifed anger and while he often lashes out bc trauma DOES THAT he’s also incredibly tolerant and generally a rational person. extremely intelligent and loves cheesy jokes. grumpy but not to purposely rain on people’s parades. and somehow, despite being through hell and back, he has it in him to be SO GENTLE and loving! look......bro.....there’s a reason why i was like “THAT one i want that one” and he got me into dragon age when i was 19 ok!

(i do hate that he’s basically made to be a “devil’s advocate” character for the narative tho. bioware just doesn’t know how to shut their mouths.)

4. Zevran (Dragon Age Origins)

yes of course. of course. what’s not to love about a man that takes a job to kill you specifically because he wanted to die, convinces you to let him join your crew and then somehow, someway, reveals that underneath all the flirting, jokes, and bluster, he’s terrified of being vulnerable and genuine because of trauma impressed upon him in youth? well? the kind of character who sells himself as pragmatic and neutral but hates the notion of punching down? including people who are not like him, but still in dire states (i.e. the circle mages). well? WELL?

5. Robin Hood (Fate AND other media)

dont talk to me.

6. Bruce Wayne (only good versions, thank you~! DC/Batman)

the only valid white man. funds hospitals and schools, rebuilt the arkham asylum SPECIFICALLY so it actually helped people, takes good care of children and adopts them if needed. also has a batsona.

7. Peter Benjamin Parker (Spiderman, Earth 616)

older versions ONLY. im tired of that fourteen year old kid LET PETER GROW UP HES MY FUCKING FAVORITE!!!! and leave tony “im the richest war criminal” stark out of it PLEASE. i didnt even hate tony before in fact i LIKED him but i had to watch as the whole spiderman narrative was thrown out; a poor kid who found out he has powers and just wants to do the right thing. he became spiderman ON HIS OWN and even turns down the Avengers because not only are they often too slow and government monitored, but they ignore the important part that he’s been fighting for the whole time: poor, disinfranchised and overlooked marginalized people. i’ve been arachnophobic my whole life but petey? petey is the only valid spider.

(also older versions of him can GET IT)

8. Richard “Dick” Grayson/Nightwing (DC/Batman)

i just love him. also his whole thing about getting out of his father’s shadow because not only does his father NEED him, but he DEPENDS on him to take his mantle and become, essentially, a new him? very relatable. also, he and starfire are EXCELLENT~! dickie gets pegged.

9. Barry Allen/The Flash (DC)

i love this man.

edit: like i COULD talk about how he could vibrate his particles to just go straight through matter but decides not to bc not only is he too nice but he knows it could rip apart reality. or like. i could talk about how even though he’s the most “Average” justice league member as far as lifestyles go, he’s the most caring, kind, and hilarious person there? the same person who is there to constantly make the league aware of their human origins and roots, who they’re fighting for, in case they forget? in case they get too stuffy and too much like cops? the same person who, if he died or otherwise never became the Flash, was so important that the Justice League ripped each other apart limb from limb? just bc ol barry wanted to see his mom again? look.

“flash can only run fast, lame” shut the hell your mouth

also the CW show was p good up until like season 3.

10. Merlin (Fate Grand Order)

yeah okay. i know you were expecting this. i saved this spot specifically for him. why? because he’s great. and also, horribly nuanced. apparently he doesn’t care about individual humans, though he loves humanity as a whole.

what do you do when you get a half-incubus who’s hellbent on how inhuman he is and surprise him by caring about the loving daughter he raised? a mess. he’s a terrible man, but he knows that, and says so himself, to warn you upon meeting him, and it isn’t just heresay. still, anyone who’d “Warn” you away from himself and lock himself in jail for 5,000 years just to make up for “tricking” a little girl into becoming king and stealing her childhood, you have to wonder just how evil he really is.

oh and he’s hot. really hot. with long, iridescent hair, pointed ears and sharp nails. absolutely batshit insane, too, and can’t keep his dick in his pants. despite this and saying that he doesn’t have feelings, apparently, he cares about something...that daughter of his, those friends of hers, and you, too! he’s just got a terrible way of showing it. those are all real, even though- according to him- “he” is not.

as you can see, i’m lost in the sauce.
