Honestly I'm interested on how Yoo Joonghyuk and Woo Jin Chul would get together and what their relationship dynamic would be like. A preserved and independent man who happens to get agitated a lot when a certain sacrificing man named Kim Dokja is around X a workaholic and peacemaker man for strong and powerful people. Of course, that's not how I intirely see them as, I just kinda see their dynamic in that way lol. Jin Chul would certainly just step infront of Joonghyuk when it looks like the man is about to slash Dokja apart like a samurai in DvDs (my attempt to rant like a tumblr person /j I could not get anymore creative than this). That is, if Joonghyuk already has feelings for him or they're already in a relationship. If he doesn't or they aren't in a relationship yet, Joonghyuk would attempt to hurt Jin Chul just to get to Dokja (to punch the man ofc), not knowing Jin Chul is capable of slowing him down/stunning him. It's not even serious, Dokja is just being stupid and Joonghyuk is also being stupid but Jin Chul would rather have their surroundings intact and clean so he ends the bickering quickly. Idk Joonghyuk takes interest in him yada yada Woo Jin Chul gains a bf (Yoo Joonghyuk) and I'm going to sleep (I SHOULD BE ASLEEP RN). But on an additional note, I wanna create an AU with these mfs. SL x ORV. I'm not that creative or good at writing but I'd be brainstorming and I'd enjoy it, so imma make one (if I had time). With Sung Jin Woo x Kim Dokja as well, but the endgame will be Sung Jin Woo x Woo Jin Chul and Kim Dokja x Yoo Joonghyuk. Idk maybe they're exes, maybe they're idiots (they are /affectionately), maybe they– honestly idk LMAO. Imma search for inspiration and stuff so I can write these pairings that would make sense lol. I am... yapping. I'm so sorry— (I would like to read what you think of the pairings Yoo Joonghyuk x Woo Jin Chul and Kim Dokja x Sung Jin Woo, if you're not comfortable or don't want to write about it, that's okay! Personally I was never a big fan of Dokja and Jinwoo, but Its not like I disliked it either. It is a popular ship and im glad a lot of people on ao3 like it, (not only beacuse the ship managed to keep SL one alive, but also because the ideas of the characters and world had been expanded through those fics. And bc it is a beneficial way for fans to interact with more manhwa, especially since the anime has come out. Also SL is not that strong on worldbuilding so the writers have an easier way to complement all of their magic systems and lore into the other story without much problem. I think its part of SL's charm that crossovers ships and fics exist more than just being a self contained fandom like most are. Best way I can put it is that SL acts more like a soda, you can have it for yourself or with other foods, but most of the time you see it with other foods. Also the side characters, as someone on ao3 puts it, are free real state. To most who use it, they are pretty much like dolls whose personality definatly ranges but als onot much to make you think its completely differnt person.) I got introduced to ORV that way, kinda, and well sadly I havent fnished the tory tho I got easily spoiled by like everything, so my characterizations for Joonghyuk and Dokja might be a little skewed, ooc even *gasp*.

Anyways as for how I would think about it. From first time I do agree with a lot of your ideas, and if you wanna write then go ahead! I think it will turn out to be fun!

Jinchul and joonghyuk is a pair I thought I saw once during my fanfic hunt ( and im sure of it that it existed... somewhere =_=) but defiently a new concept for sure. I do feel pity for Jinchul having become this side character who will be put in the place of constant death for the sake of kim dokja. Oh, although considering how protective jinwoo is over his love ones ( and the protagonist halo he has) it wouldnt be a bad idea overall to put him as a sacrifice since the moment that happens Jinwoo comes back to rescue him with the power he has on him. Psychopathic for all of them but it fits them.

(omg just imaginig the cycles of Dokja trying to find a solution by killing himself, Yoo jooonghyuk saying it should be Jinchul instead, jinchul actually trying to find a solution that doesnt involve ANYONE dying because god is he the only one with braincells. and then jinwoo just raising his hand up like, you know my power is dying right? like I can do this instead.)

Depending on what world we are talking about, their situations would def be vary as well. Dokja and Yoo Joonhyuk in SL world, alongside Jinwoo, would probably the most dangeorus things Jinchul has to deal with on a daily basis because of how much they keep filing for property damage. Joonhyuk and Jinwoo would always like to one up each other me thinks, while Dokja would likely be more insterested in the gates and their ecosystems, what stories could they tell and where they could come from. He would proably be the most chill with Jinchul, maybe even sharing a lot of information with him about monsters and magical items.

As for how jinchul and jinwoo would work in the Orv setting. WEll for one i dont think the pairs can seperate. Both Jinwoo and Jinchul, just like Dokja and Joonghyuk are like, bonded stray cats, not sorry. They could go for hours at a time doing their own things but they will damn well find each other back. This probably makes it easier then for Jinchul to make out a plan for his 'sacrifice' to be stopped midway when Jinwoo decides to appear with so much plot armor you think he'd be a constellation. I also like the idea of Jinchul finding out through context cllue that like, Dokja had read the whole story of what might happen in the future and being the only one to confront him about it. It would be cool to see if Jinchul can also challenge Dokja's vision of needing to sacrifice himself, (especially when he already has one suicidal hero on the bag and dont need another one). If it were to me I would try to put Jinchul's detective skills /and his way of dealing with powerful people like s ranks) at work since it would be fun if someone saw past Dokja's hero persona easily, slowly peeling it away to reveal someone who is way too traumatized by possible past events that he might just start doing some things to self destruct.

I dont know how to put it into words as well, but Jinchul being the most realistic person out there --not a sidehero, not an op protagonist or a damsel or a femme fatale. Not one of the characters in his book and not one of the readers or the people who adore him. He is as human as he can be. Having flaws and weaknesses more than everyone, but having his own niche strenghts as well. Not being able to be understood by Dokja unless he actively tries to get closer, and even then jinchul would know more about him than Dokja knows about the other.

Oh right what this wasnt a dokja and jinchul post, forget that (forgive me but dokja needs someone around his age that is like, a friend to him more in a casual way than the 'devoted loyal will always be there for you and kill for you' kind of way that he has with the rest of the kimcom. They are not bad by ANY means, its just that watching Dokja trying to befriend someone without the need to prove his worth, or just meet, in an apocalypse (or start one) would be healthy for him. It would also be funny if Jinchul is overall too tired with work to care that theres a whole ass apocalypse going down. Dude's "im not cut out for this" and "fuck that" getting him out of drama situations.

Jinwoo is there. I dont know what to make of him, surprisingly. He is that plot armor that everyone desperatly needs, but sadly he is out there hunting other weird ass monsters and probably hijacking the whole system that the dokkabei have. Jinchul and Jinwoo in prv could serve as awesome narrative foils, one acts as the most generic protagonist one could ever meet, and the other acts as so human to the point that its scary. Jinwoo would always be that stepping stone that Joonghyuk has to overcome (and maybe does a lot of the times, maybe he doesnt reach the perfection state like jinwoo does, protagonist halos are weird) And Joonghyuk will try to gain some information about him through Jinchul, whenever he is not using him for sacrifices against humanity. Jinchul of course might use that info as a bargain to get dokja out of certain trouble (which could also gethte other a headache bc agh nothing is going to plan!) and powerup jinwoo instead. When no one is going at each others throats, it would be fun for jinwoo and joonghyuk to interact and share stuff about their younger sisters-

Over the coure of many shitty things happening once the fights with the contellations start, I think Joonghyuk might rely more of Jinchul to get them out of situations and regard him as a more respectable ally to be around (especially when he comes with the bonus of a living embodiment of a death god in the background) and Jinchul could learn to put Joonghyuk in check before he goes on a killing spree because of Dokja's death.

I will have to catch up on orv's ln to get more about this four, but the idea was certainly fun, so thanks for oversharing your thoughts!

Strade: In which Strade's wife/long-term girlfriend is oblivious to her husband's/boyfriend's….special hobby. (Inspired by the fact that many recorded real-life serial killers have gotten married and their spouses never suspected a thing.) In this case Strade's s/o only ever saw Strade's "charming" persona, the one he puts on to appear normal. My idea is that she was originally going to be one of his victims, but changed his mind for whatever reason.

(what Strade feels towards her doesn't have to be actual "love". But i do think if the mc's and Strade's relationship has lasted for years, then he would have grown some twisted attachment to her- in his own Strade way at least...Maybe like how in TINR Strade grew possessive over Raven despite not loving her genuinely and simply manipulating her)

Strade (again): MC can't help but find her neighbor a little…..strange. Strade can't help but find her enticing. With her inner connections with the police (possibly is a police officer herself if you wish to take it a step further), is he willing to take the risk and snatch her away? Fuck around and find out ig.

Rire: Where Rire falls in love with a human he can't grab a hold of her soul of.

Derek: Derek develops a crush on a cute foreign barista. She has no idea of the reputation he holds as a Goffard, hence he can feel semi-comfortable talking to her as he picks up his morning coffee from the secluded coffee shop. However, their dynamic changes when he attends an illegal auction in hopes of bringing the next victim to the desert excursion, only to find out she is the product bided on.

(probably the most "romantic" scenario you will get out of these tbh)

Fox: Inspired by a fic I read, aftermath of the "he kept you" ending with Strade where Mc is a fellow prisoner along with Ren. The two grow a trauma bond and fall in love while captives, but she runs off, leaving him once Strade dies. Now, years later, he's determined to get her back again. (The most yandere out of all, considering the dynamic)

But i've reblogged over 1k posts. Got nearly 200 followers. There's 40 people in the discord. Ao3 has over 800 fics in the diabetes tag.

I'm definitely not responsible for the ao3 numbers jumping up, but when i started this thing 2 (3?) years ago, there was, i think, 300 fics? And many of them were, ah, mistagged.

Now look at us!

Im just. I'm really sick rn and I'm shook to see these numbers. I'm so happy about this.

And it isn't just fandom either! Purple Hearts was the #1 Netflix hit for over a month straight, in over 10 countries. Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood and What Happens After Midnight by K L Walther were both nominations for the 2023 Goodreads Books of the Year award, and Love, Theoretically won!!! (In the romance category, i think)

That's three mainstream, popular stories with diabetic main characters! Not side characters. Main characters!

To all the people who alluded or told me outright that diabetic stories weren't interesting or marketable unless the diabetes WAS the story can go dig a hole. To the close-minded clouts who told me no one wants to read about diabetes, and accurate representation only detracts from good storytelling didn't ya know? To the tradpub author and editor who told the room that #ownvoices was in rn and aspiring authors should use that if they could when pitching or querying and then two minutes later told me, in front of the entire workshop, that diabetes wasn't important to the story if it didn't affect the plot and i shouldn't include it in my pitch.

What is the difference to you between Wattpad fic and non Wattpad fic? Genuinely asking. Isn't fic just fic and quality is going to vary regardless of where it gets posted? Also i think to me at least, x reader fic is kind of synonymous with Wattpad so how can you "condemn" one but not the other? Interested to hear your thoughts :)

ok so it is 1 am and I just finished writing a vEry bad paper so my brain is not firing on all cylinders rn. thus, pls forgive me for not being the most articulate.

I would like to first say that all of this is just my Jess Opinion so I’m not trying to make you disagree or agree w/ me and I’m not stating any of this as fact. These are just my personal thoughts that I state with authority and passion bc that’s how I talk :) ok!!

Obviously I don’t actually “condemn” any authors lmfao I was just being dramatic for comedic affect. Im not asking to burn any wattpad authors at the stake or anything. However, there is definitely a distinct difference between wattpad fic and ao3 fic, so much so that I can literally read a fic on ao3 and tell when it has been cross posted from wattpad.

Fic quality actually does not vary as much as you think dependent on platform. Usually people write amongst groups of likeminded people and similar writing styles so your writing style can be influenced a Lot by the platform you post on. Sure there’s an outlier here and there but pretty much all wattpad fic is simply Not written well for a variety of reasons.

My most personal beef from wattpad stems from their crack ass horrible garbage stupid bitch fuck ratchet tagging system.

On wattpad, there is NO way to trigger warn or appropriately tag for content or, as a reader, filter out content you don’t want to see. Unless an author specifically includes something in an author note about content warnings (which they Don’t do for the most part because no one else on the platform does so why would they break fhe mold??)

This means that when you read Most wattpad fics, you don’t know what kind of content you’re going to encounter. Often times, this content ends up being blatant internalized misogyny, domestic abuse, and/or dub-con handled with no tact or understanding for the problematicism of the subject matter :)

I don’t personally read x reader (bc I’m an aroace person so I’m just not the audience for it lol) but I certainly don’t knock people that write it. It’s a very valid form of writing/expression and there are plenty of very talented x reader writers on tumblr that I respect a lot. So that’s why I made the differentiation.

A lot of the x reader writers on tumblr are adults whereas wattpad is primarily comprised of children (when I say children I mean as broad a range as 9-16).

Because ao3 is regarded as “confusing” to a lot of young people just now getting into fanfic (ie. me when I was 12), they post on wattpad (or quotev, which is where I posted lol) because it is a platform made to be accessible for primarily adolescents.

This means that the bulk of fics you’re finding on wattpad are written by teenagers; often, straight female teenagers who have not had comprehensive sex education, do not understand the full spectrum of consent, have only consumed media that pushes damaging heteronormative expectations when it comes to romance, and are reading stories written by other adolescents who don’t understand these topics either!!! It’s usually a case of the blind leading the blind.

I don’t inherently think of wattpad being synonymous with x reader considering there is slash on there too. I instead consider it synonymous with adolescent writing. And, as we’ve established a few times now, I’m an adult who does not feel comfortable reading about children or reading the writing of children.

While there’s nothing wrong with kids learning how to write and becoming comfortable with their craft (and while I think it is important for them to have those outlets as it was for me), wattpad writers never really tend to grow out of that because that’s what basically All the content on wattpad is. They continuously feed into a loop of misinformation that they perpetuate the cycle of by not understanding the content they’re consuming is inappropriate and incorrect (I’m talking about romantic portrayals of abuse/assault and the glamorization of abusive men).

Young teens using wattpad makes sense to me. It really does. I used quotev so I don’t have room to talk. I can say, however, that I don’t like it, considering how permeated wattpad is with untagged rape and domestic violence that teaches young consumers really damaging perspectives about romance but… I know kids genuinely don’t know any better and have not been given an outlet to know better when our sex education system fails to teach us even the slightest bit of porn literacy… but that’s neither here nor there. And I often times make fanfic a deeper conversation than it needs to be :)

"2k is long" is also nonsense i'm so sorry 😭 2k is barely anything if you're trying to introduce an AU and actually flesh in a setting and especially if you're trying to show different personality traits 😭 your fic are mostly AUs with really well thought out lore, and it needs the word count to breathe and establish everything. if someone's attention span is too short to read more than - what - 2 pages? that's their problem, not yours! fwiw, my fic lengths range with the shortest starting at around 5k and the longest getting close to 30k and i have never had anyone leave a complaint about the length! people are more than willing to sit through 10k+ just to get to the smutty stuff, and they usually end up enjoying the rest of the fic as well. do not worry about it! you're doing just fine 🩷

I don't often look at the length of a fic unless im updating someone on how long its getting. My shortest wip is 100 words. And. Ive posted it to here bcs i feel it'll never be finished.

If it does get finished eventually then i will post it as a fic but. Until then it sits in my drafts.

My fics almost always include worldbuilding to at least 3k now. Though not all of them were like that.

I am absolutely terrible at worldbuilding if im doing it consciously.

Its why i have visible headcanons for idols. But i just can't put them into words haha.

The most i think through is 'what sort of details would enhance this and make it better to read'

And then thats where i go from!

Siren!ivan was originally supposed to be more non-con than it is rn. The consent is not proper consent tho but thats bcs. Well. Siren wants what he wants and he will convince dann to give it to him.

Though. Thats a little bit of a spoiler. It is going to be tagged accordingly. Don't worry ill tag fics right.

The fic i thought through the most, probably is one ive not even started wtiting. The dissection fic. I gotta do all sorts of research so i can make sure its accurate and well done.

Which unfortunately means i gotta look at anatomy from a more medical standpoint. Need to go find a book for that..

The first fic i put out actually has a very strong plot hole. That i told myself id patch before posting it but. I didn't.

That plot hole was the reasoning as to why ivan was doing that to hwon. It has a very weak reason and i could absolutely fix it now. But. Not this year.

I write ab 5k minimum most of the time haha. I prefer letting the story fill itself out n then helping fine tune details. Its why i really can't tell you how long a fic may be.

So far my longest fic is 16k words. Published. Theres more unpublished. That's for the abandoned but not orphaned one.

I may return to it eventually. That's why i didn't wanna orphan it.

All of my fics stop at a point they organically would have stopped at. When i feel it can't really take another scene. I end it. That usually leaves spaces for part twos to them as well!

But i like exploring aus as i write them.

Fun fact! I write aus bcs im worried that if i do anything else i may accidentally copy someone else's idea.

I do get inspired by the other kd writers. Oh gods do i get inspired.

Lee, lunar, eve, even erin, who encourages the hwonicide. They all inspire me in their own ways. Does that usually come in the form of a prompt to note down asap? Yeah.

But other ways are helping with details for fics. And they are all very welcome to chat ab fics w me. I don't steal ideas. Not without permission and changing it to be my own.

I have a prompt that is inspired by eve's fic Clear My Mind (eve is karmacumover btw!)

But it is different. I may show her the prompt itself if she wants to see it haha.

But i love working on fics. Even if I can't be proud of them as a 'look i made this!' i can still look at the work and go 'yeah. Thats good.'

Thank you lee for helping me figure out how to do that. It was amazing to be able to step back and go 'thats a good story' if i removed myself from it.

The lee im referring to here is intenselysalmon. So she knows who im referring to.

One day. One day my goal is to be proud of how much I've written. Of what I've written.

Its a goal i think is far away. But the more i talk to other writers. The more i realize.

Im not as bad at writing as i think i am.

Honestly id never even considered myself a good writer, until i asked writers like lee and erin their feedback on my works. And they both said i write well. Maybe a little dialogue heavy but. Thats fine i can work on it.

Im doing my best. And im trying to ensure i continue getting better.

The more i talk to other writers and see how they talk ab my writing. The more i go. 'maybe im too harsh on myself' but. As they say, you are your own worst critic.

Honestly i never even considered my work good enough to do much with. But. Lunar still offered to possibly do a collab or fic trade. And i keep thinking on it. Maybe.

It makes me think they find me a better writer than i find myself to be.

Then i see eve, reacting to some of the xlips of airen!ivan ive put out. And she's reacting as i would for any of lee's clips. I find lee an amazing writer. It seems eve thinks of me that way too.

Im trying to wrap my head around it. But the reason i am so harsh on myself is. Anxiety and self doubt. And i need to work through them.

Thats the first time ive admitted that.

I will work through my weaknesses, and be better than before. Slowly. It takes time. I have to be patient.

One day. One day i will be able to proudly say 'im a good writer'

Its not today. But. It will be an eventuality.

This is really scrapy because it took me like an hour and im tired. I need armin rn but couldn't find anything so I wrote this. We. Need. More. Armin. Fics.

Anyway enjoy

Your day was shite.

There was no other way of putting it, your cramps had been on and off all day, ranging from so painfull all you could do was curl up and pray for your life too I think I have cramps but I only feel them when I think about it.

So now here you stood in captain Levis office hoping there was a god.

"You finished?" He asked annoyedly.

"Yes sir," you stood to attention.

"Tch, your done for the day go get some food. Dismissed," happily you skipped out of his office glad your half-assed attempt at cleaning the store room had been accepted,or maybe he knew what time of the month it was?

As you entered the food hall you saw it was almost empty except for a few cadets playing old maid.

Collecting your soup you sat in your usual spot and waited, and waited...

You smiled as Armin walked towards you waving as he did. When he reached you he sat down on your left.

"Hi," he beamed picking up his bread and taking a huge bite out of it.

"Hey Armin, how are you?" You replied.

"I'm good been working on a new strategy that could include erens titan, I'm thinking of trying it out soon, how about you?"

"Ooh sounds exciting, personally? I have done next to nothing," you huffed letting your head fall onto the table.

"You ok?" Armin asked genuine concern in his voice.

You were about to reply when eren and Mikasa came up behind him.

"Hey Armin!" Eren exclaimed. You moved along a seat and eren took your old one.

"Hi eren can I-" armin started, but you cut him off knowing mikasa would want to sit next to eren you ignored your body screaming at you and got up. Leaving your luke warm soup behind.

"Later armin," you excused yourself and left.

It didn't matter that you'd let your soup go cold so you could eat it with him.

You lay face down on your bed sobbing into your covers. Wearing your comfiest night clothes and wrapped in your softest blankets. The hot water bottle sloshed as you rolled to lie on your side.

A soft knock came from the door.

"Hey its Armin can I come in?" He said softly.

"Yeah," you sniffed shuffling in the bed to make room for him to join you.

Quietly he entered closing the door softly behind him.

"I thought so," he smiled at you. "You need anything?"

"Cuddles and a magic remedy," you chuckled, but it turned to sobs.

"I can do cuddles," he said softly pulling you into him as he lay down next to you.

"Thank you," you snuggled into him.

"It'll be okay," he kissed your head, stroking your hair.

"Now that your here?" You laughed.

"Yeah," he laughed too.

You laughed together until a sharp pain struck you in the gut.

"Ow," you groaned burrowing your face into his neck.

"Sshhh," he showered the top of your head in kisses. "I'll be right back ok."

Quickly he stood up and exited.

You curled into a fetal position as the heat from the water bottle was infinitly lacking.

When Armin returned he was holding a steamy cup.

"Whats that?"

"It's ginger tea, petra told the captain and he told sasha and she told jean, who told connnie and he told, never mind its meant to help with cramps," Armin flushed red.

"Thank you," you said reaching for it.

"Wait let it cool down first its to hot right now."

"Armin it's meant to be hot it helps trust me," you smiled at him.

"But this is too hot, I don't want you to get burned," he looked at the floor.

"I'll be careful just gimme the magic remedy," you pouted.

"Mm ok," he carefully handed you the cup.

Slowly you stuck your tongue in it checking the temperature, it was barely hot just a pleasant steamy heat.

You took a large swig and almost moaned.

"So it's good?" Armin joked.

"I think I was promised cuddles," you smiled.

"You were promised nothing," he said but still sat down next to you letting you lean into him.

"I love you," you said into his neck.

"Love you too," he replied into the top of your head.

Uhhhhhhhhhh hi! hello! I'm Nyx! Welcome, and thanks for stopping by (the odd crab seems to be happy)

So uh, I recently got motivated to start posting more about my fanfictions/weird art here.

I'll be starting a more dedicated side blog soon, (one that's pretty much all robots since that what I'm obsessed with rn) and it will definitely be nsft, since I'm trying to keep everything sfw on main. So look out for that if you are only here because I've started writing about spike.

(I will talk about transformers here too, I've got a bunch of fic ideas in the works, I'm just bad about finishing them. Other than that it's mostly obscure lore and speculative biology; and also uh, about having read through like 3/4ths of the AO3 collection. It's just got a lot to compete with on main)

I'm still planning to use my main for weird insomniac rambling, and cryptid hunting, and transformers fandom- also just the rare reference to actually being a human and not like. a weird squid. (One can dream 😮‍💨)

This blog is, for the most part, SFW. But there are some exceptions. My fossilized friend may not curse, but I do. I also talk about doing adult things like drinking and eating weed. I am not excessive about it, but I'm not trying to hide it either. So if that is something you want to avoid this this is not the blog for you.

(Mostly I use sfw/nsft when talking about excessive-gore type horror, or explicit sexual material which will both get dedicated blogs with specialized 18+ only warnings. I will not be putting content of either type on my main.)

Main is definitely the best place to learn about how far along any of my projects are coming though. And I will put them here if they are sfw.

So uh, besides that, this is also the place where I primarily simp for Eldritch horrors beyond moral comprehension; pretend to be a cambrian era plectronoceras, because it makes me happy; talk about being pagan; reblog whatever cool things I find scrolling Tumblr with zero rhyme or reason; talk about my hyperfixations; be unapologetically gay; build real life robots; and garbagepost (idk the right word) at three in the morning when I can't sleep.

“C’mon princess, move your ass before I move it for you.”

You huffed at the blonde, opening the car door, stepping outside and slamming it shut. Bakugou shot you a harsh glare, but you weren’t looking at him, instead crouching to tie your shoe.

He gave you a moment to do that, before the man got impatient, clicking his tongue, shoving his hands in his pockets. “Let’s go, it’s not like I have all fucking day.”

You knew for a fact that yes, he did have all day.

Your mom was away again, another business trip. She was working towards a promotion - a position that meant more hours, more work, more travel.

More time being spent with your stupid babysitter.

With your rapist.

He hadn’t touched you, not outright, since that day. Every time your mom suggested having him over for dinner, you conveniently found somewhere to be; out with friends, on a date, having a sleepover. Anything so that you didn’t have to look at Bakugou Katsuki’s stupid, smug little face.

But your mom had surprised you yesterday night, letting you know she’d be leaving in the morning, that Katsuki would be staying over again. There wasn’t any time for you to argue with her, to plead for her to stay, or to take you with her, or for you to stay at a friend’s house, anything but Katsuki.

“If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you were trying to avoid him!” She had laughed, before wagging a finger at you. “Don’t be rude. He’s a nice man, and I trust him to keep you safe. He did last time!”

Yeah, and he also assaulted you last time, so maybe he wasn’t as nice of a guy as she thought.

He was taking you to the mall, not even really giving you a choice, just telling you to get dressed, that the two of you were going out.

Now here you were, trudging silently behind the older man, glaring at the ground.

“Bakubro! Over here!”

A loud shout drew your attention, Bakugou grinning as he started veering towards the shouter, a red-haired man waving enthusiastically. You followed behind him obediently, taking stock of this new man.

He was fucking huge, thick thighs bulging against his jeans, biceps straining against the fabric of his navy hoodie. This new guy was handsome too, a wide, sharp smile, soft red eyes, a clean-shaven face.

“’Sup Idiot? You tryin’ to attract the whole mall? Always so damn loud.” Even though he was complaining, it was clear that these two were friends as Bakugou let the other man pull him into a hug. They pounded each other on the back, before the redhead drew back, pushing past the blonde to give you his full attention. 

“Who’s this? Did you get a girlfriend? She looks a little young bro.”

“I’m not his girlfriend.” You spat, and the redhead held up his hands in surrender as Bakugou shouldered him to the side.

“It’s the little fucker that I’m looking after as a favor. You know I work security for that office complex?” The redhead nodded. “Yeah, one of the milfs gave me free range of her house as long as I watch her.”

Both men looked at you, and the redhead smiled brightly.

“Ah, well, I’m Kirishima! Nice to meet you, sorry you have to put up with such a grumpy fucke-”

“Hey, shaddup.” Bakugou elbowed him, but Kirishima was already extending a hand for you to shake, and you did so gladly. At least you weren’t the only one who thought Bakugou was a grumpy, stuck up mess.

“’Kay, now can we go? I’m starving’, wanna eat before we do anything else.”

Kirishima winked at you as he threw an arm around your shoulders, his other arm around Bakugou. “Food court? I think they have a pretty good selection here...”

Kirishima was much more tolerable than Bakugou.

He was funny, cracking jokes and making you almost spit out the soda he had bought you, slipping you five dollars behind Bakugou’s back for you to get a drink.

The redhead sat next to you while the three of you ate, including you in the conversation whenever Bakugou seemed to forget about your existence.

As the three of you walked from store-to-store, Kirishima listened to you ramble on about the latest game you’d bought, what you thought of your favorite snack brand trying to collaborate with a fashion company, all your opinions on the music playing faintly through the mall speakers.

It was fun when he grabbed your hand, tugging you away from Bakugou and along with the redhead as he ducked into a random store. It was some street-wear fashion place, and Kirishima wanted your thoughts on if a shirt was his color, or if he could pull off one of the hats that adorned the mannequin in the store window.

The two of you were busy laughing at how the hat couldn’t even press past his spiky hairstyle when you noticed Bakugou, glowering at you both from the outside of the store, lips pulled into the deepest frown.

Kirishima started laughing at the man’s expression, and you quickly followed suit, before Bakugou stalked inside, cuffing his friend on the ear.

What a spoil sport.

You couldn’t deny that by the end of the few hours you’d spent with Kirishima, you found yourself attracted to him. Not only in looks, but also in his goofy personality. You wouldn’t mind being friends with him.

It was easy to exchange numbers with the man, easy to let him lift your spirits.

And then it was time to leave, all three of you grouped at the entrance, saying bye, Bakugou and Kirishima giving each other another bro-hug.

You gave Kirishima a hug, leaning into his warm touch, enjoying his spicy cologne as you pressed your face against his broad chest. He eagerly returned the hug, until Bakugou was scoffing, pulling you out of his embrace.

“We’re in fucking public, you two, chill. Keep your pants on, sluts.”

Kirishima laughed, giving you a cheery wave as Bakugou gripped your hand until it hurt, dragging you out of the mall quickly.

“Why are you being such a brat? You were fuckin’ fine earlier.” The blonde man grumbled, glancing over at you from where he was making dinner.

You rolled your eyes, taking a sip of your water. “It’s not my fault you have a stick up your ass. All I said is I don’t like when you make food, tastes bad.”

Bakugou huffed, turning off the stove. “Are you fucking serious? You’re just trying to mess with me, aren’t’cha princess?”

“Could you stop calling me that? I’m not your princess.”

“You’re whatever I want you to be, princess.” Bakugou sneered, stomping towards you.

You quickly backpedalled, setting your glass of water down on the counter, stepping back. “I’m going to go set the table!” Was your way out, and Bakugou backed off as you threw open a cupboard, rummaging for plates and cups as he chuckled to himself.

“Yeah, you do that.” 

It wasn’t long before the table was set, Bakugou bringing the food to set it down onto the hotplate in the middle.

Even just a whiff of the food had your eyes watering, the spice through the roof.

“Seriously dude? You know you’re cooking for two people, why the fuck did you make it inedible?!?” 

The blonde man glared at you as he sat down, jaw working, mouth twisting. “You gonna be a bitch-baby about it? Should be fuckin’ grateful that I even made you dinner.”

“Thanks for dinner.” You mumbled, staring tiredly at the food Bakugou was heaping onto his plate. You didn’t feel like eating anymore, his outburst ruining your mood, reminding you of the time when he got angry because you wouldn’t go to bed, wouldn’t listen to him-

“Eat the damn food.” Katsuki snapped, pulling you out of your thoughts and back to the present.

You did as he asked, even though it burned your mouth. Dinner was quickly gulped down, followed by desperate swigs of water as you tried to chase away the spice. Bakugou huffing the entire time at your inability to handle the level of spice he preferred.

Afterwards, you gathered up the plates and washed them, conscious of Katsuki hovering in the background of the kitchen, watching you work while he tapped away on his phone.

When the last dish was washed, dried, and put away, you began rummaging in the cupboards, looking for something sweet, something to soothe your tastebuds.

“What’re you doin’, didn’t I just feed you?”

Bakugou’s harsh voice made you flinch, but you kept your back to him. “Was hoping there’d be dessert.”

A long, irritated sigh, then a hand gripped your shoulder, pulling you away from the kitchen cupboards. “Ain’t got any of that shit in the house princess, you don’t need it.”

“But-” Your plead was interrupted by Bakugou rolling his eyes, snorting.

“Why are you being such a whiny baby? Is this cause Kiri was spoilin’ you earlier?”

Jutting your chin out, you glared up into red eyes as you turned around seething. “Maybe I like being treated like a person and not a problem. I don’t even understand why he’s friends with you - you’re mean and crass and stup-”

“So you’re just acting out cause you want some extra attention or some shit? What a brat.” The blonde sneered, leaning back against the counter as he tapped away at his phone again.

“You want Kiri so bad, fine. I’ll have him get you some shitty grocery-store dessert. Then maybe you’ll stop acting like a bitch. Stuff some candy in that mouth, will that keep you quiet, huh?”

It was infuriating, being treated like a child. Ignored, talked down to, unable to assert yourself or make decisions. 

“Whatever.” You huffed, shaking your head as you walked out of the kitchen. ���Anything’s better than having to sit here with you.”

The front door opening and the faint rustle of grocery bags caught your ear as you fumed on the couch, angrily questioning “why me?” as to your situation. But the noise meant your new friend was here, and he was much nicer than Bakugou.

Nice enough to have you smiling a bit as you rose to your feet, padding into the dining room as you beelined to the soft murmur of two manly voices.

“Heyyy! Long time no see!” The redhead was dressed in a loose tank top and basketball shorts, shoes discarded somewhere in the hall. 

You’d known he was muscular, but actually seeing his muscles without clothes in the way? You were stunned.

A bright blush encompassed your face when Bakugou snapped his fingers, narrowing his eyes at you. “Ay’, stupid! Focus! He got you a bunch of sweet shit. Rot your teeth out.” While gesturing to the two grocery bags resting on the dinner table.

“Hi Kirishima, thanks for the desserts-”

“Aw, it’s nothing. Bakubro wouldn’t tell me what kinda flavors you like so I kinda got a variety...”

Cupcakes and candy and various other sweet treats were nestled in the bags, and you grinned. “Dude, it’s all good. Wanna sit down and have some too?”

secondly, don't disparage your own skills !!! i'm glad you like my writing so much. truly. but there are lots of my currently still published (i've orphaned some works from pre-pandemic) works that i'm not excessively fond of. i like them all, but i can safely say i'm not satisfied with any of them per se. i think it's difficult to be satisfied by your own writing ever. so truly, if you feel your own writing is shit, i want you to know i feel that too, even about the fics you may love. one man's trash is another man's treasure, and writing is so inherently personal and subjective, it's hard to analyze quality by your own judgement alone. i say with this full honesty and frankness, i dont think your writing is shit, anon op.

i don't think writers give life to their works, as much as readers do. readers adopt these worlds i've written and breathe life into it, by connecting and sympathising with it. just as i can say, i don't think writers will love their writing the most, it'll always be the readers. there are certain fics out there which i'm entirely obsessed with, my holy grail truly. and i hope for you, and any of my other readers out there, i hope you find comfort in any of my fics. i think the hallmark of a writer isn't necessarily to persuade their readers to do this or that, but to help them find something, a small thing, in a certain work that identifies with them. i hope my works identify with you. again with writing being so inherently personal, almost like you're like looking into myself, it takes a lot of courage to publish and put it out there, and knowing others empathise with me is another joy, unable to be put into words. i don't think i write action, romance, emotions, metaphors, or description or a very good many list of things well, but that doesn't matter as long as someone can identify and find comfort in certain aspects of my fics.

(apologies for this long and dragged on explanation, concision is something i really struggle with. and my virginia woolf is very much so responsible for the stream of consciousness writing that i can't stop.)

also, i'm truly flattered you've read my fics. i've written 91 ones as of rn, and i have countless others i've anon-ed and orphaned, and it's no joke to even read 91 of them. i have an insane schedule and i know that (amongst my many flaws, lack of self-awareness isn't one of them). i truly don't know what to say but thank you. it really is motivation for me to write more, esp when im struggling with many irl things rn.

finally to answer your question, the answer is sort of. i write for my uni newspaper (it's actually pretty renowned but since this platform relies on anonymity that i crave, i won't say which) as a journalist. other than that, i publish poetry and creative writing to my uni creative writing journal (see above explanation) and i get paid to write basically. because i won a fellowship, and it ranges from around 10k usd per sem. besides that, i do academic writing for my econ lab and internship at an international economic non-governmental authority.

i also work as a graphic designer and copy writer.

so, yes. i'm kinda a professional writer. i do not have any proper published novels and the like, but as a uni student, i do a fair bit of writing. other than what my school homework already requires and what not.
