I do NOT talk much about my pains, whether I'm sick or sore, b/c truth be told, no one really cares about your colds and headaches being posted on social media, OK, people are really out here sick and dying over worse...

BUT... I will say after going through it with Zaza last couple months, I realized I've been neglecting myself to the point where I don’t even feel like ME anymore. For the last few months, I've been dealing with some chronic back, neck & spine pain that has been holding me back from doing things I enjoy aside from my work. I can seriously say I love what I do & I'm completely grateful to be in the position I'm in HOWEVER I'm learning that.... I seriously need to stop doing and bending backwards so much for others and take care of myself first. That said, I'm not looking for pity but mostly want to share a message to my fellow moms out there -- make the appointment. Just do it. Don’t talk yourself out of it, just to feel like shiit later.

I have been training at the gym since many years now, and like everyone else I had to adapt ! My home became my gym, and I train mainly with a weight vest, lots of rubber bands and my body weight ! And it’s amazing to discover new ways other than just lifting weights !

I know more than ever that our body and our mind are connected and therefore affect each other’s. And that resistance is a sign of a lack of rapport. I didn’t like my body. I didn’t have rapport with myself, with my own body for many years. I just wanted it to look good without really addressing its needs. I had so much pain everywhere that even sleeping was stressful ! I had to dive deep within myself and discover childhood patterns and traumas that I had experienced, and the only way my mind was trying to make me realise that, was by signals, and the signals were pain, anxiety, depression, guild, sadness. But I didn’t want to listen ! Until I finally did !

What are the things you need to listen from your mind and body, that would really help you ? .

To change the world, you must first change yourself. My "passion project" is myself. I am molding, and cultivating a life that I can be proud of on my death bed. We all have the power to change our situations. More importantly, we have the power to help those who can't help themselves. I have been given a platform in which I can do just that. As an educator, it is my job to motivate students to their highest potential. To get them to question everything that doesn't sound right. We educators have the most important job in the world! We work for less than peanuts, spend more time with other people's children, and still manage to find a way to be involved in our own kids' lives. If that doesn't make someone a superhero, then what does? I choose to use my platform to strive for change in the world. As long as I can change the life of one student a year, they will spread the message. Little by little, we can change the negative news to become more positive. People think it is a bipartisan problem. Wrong! It is an American problem. We are allowing people who don't know the everyday struggle of the common person to make our laws, set our wages, and control our schools. Education can change that I believe. Educators, we have to spark the flames of curiosity in our youth. We must make them want to seek out the truth for themselves. We must. We must.
