Jealousy for azutara au
Thank you for the prompt!
Katara is not jealous. She's not, she swears. It's just... Azula, the genius, the prodigy, the "I'm a people's person", isn't aware of when people are flirting with her. She seems to assume people are just a little too friendly sometimes, trying to gain favors and all, but flirting? In Azula's brain, apparently, having a girlfriend means nobody would flirt with her.
Yes, because people will stop flirting with a beautiful, rich woman.
It's almost funny how Azula is aware of how good-looks had helped her before but, at the same time, she doesn't seem to compute the fact that she's, well, attractive.
Everything in her is a magnet for girls to try something, which means that here they are, yet another college party and Azula is being all polite and nice to a girl that is all but throwing herself at her. Really, the only reason the girl was yet to climb Azula like a tree is probably the (juice-filled) cup on the Firebender's hand.
It's not jealousy that makes Katara walk towards them like a woman in a mission, attaching herself to one of Azula's nicely beefy arms. The flirty girl frowns at her, borderline growling a "please, excuse me" and leaving.
Azula blinks down at her: "You like to randomly grab me."
"You're nice to grab."
"We were having a mildly pleasant conversation."
"She was trying to get into your pants."
"Not every girl that talks to me wants that, Kat."
"The ones trying to shove their boobs onto your face are."
"You're cute when you're jealous like this," Azula kisses her head. "You don't have to worry."
She knows, but Katara will always be a little territorial. And Azula doesn't seem to mind, always happy to know she's wanted like that.
Send me a word for an Azutara drabble!

About the azutara political marriage u have said katara is a jealous person . I want to ask why do u say katara is super jealous and does katara ever fight ty lee or is it just azula who gets the complains. Also Is azula jealous and possessive with Katara too?
so outside jealous katara being canon (my beloved...) i think in the context of the au katara is only really allowed One Person. azula is her State Mandated Partner and it's extremely frustrating when people, cough ty lee cough, undermine that and make her feel insecure about her position within court. wider, katara is very unsure and insecure about her place in fn culture PERIOD, and ty lee's familiarity with azula is something that challenges her pre-conceived notions (or guesswork) about FN marriage and their social customs around that ect, as well as her own cultural norms when it comes to a married couple.
so it's not fun for katara at all. its confusing, azula's attitude is confusing, and ty lee is also really nice? outside of azula? katara is upset and angry and CONFUSED about all of it. so she goes and yells at azula. multiple times. because ultimately azula should be the one telling ty lee no, as SHE is the one thats married, and so the responsibility falls to her. its all a little excrutiating telling azula her relationships are weird.
azula herself is. weird about her possessiveness. she doesnt percieve anyone below her rank as a threat because, well, in azula's eyes they aren't. shes arrogant like that. she's so used to the court flirting-flattery that if katara is on the recieving end of it, its normal. azula only acts on her possessiveness if its to protect katara's honour, curbing toph and her very... generous... comments, or as egotistical power plays to lord over people that katara is hers, thank you very much. she's also subtly possessive on a day to day basis, trying to dress katara in her household symbols and blues, physical tokens of affection, touching her hair in public, that sort of thing. katara doesnt recognise those little acts until way later into their relationship

The cruelest and meanest things Zuko did
Show!Zuko
Mocking the culture of his best friend, who is genocide survivor whose culture was destroyed by Zuko’s ancestors, multiple times.
Rams his ship into the remainder of the Southern Water Tribe. Behaves threatningly toward the SWT inhabitants, even manhandling Sokka and Katara's grandmother.
Robs from a family who saved his beloved uncle's life and fed him and his uncle, all for free.
Mocks Ty Lee as a "circus freak" to her face for having the temerity to suggest she knows him and cares about him.
Tells his beloved Uncle, who has been a father to him, that he is a lazy, mistrustful, shallow old man who's always been jealous of his brother"
Attacks Roun Jian for talking to Mai.
(With Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee) Wrecks Chan's party and burns down his beach house just for the hell of it.
Punching down at Toph when she attempts to connect with him emotionally, treating her like she's unworthy of his time?
Implicitly threatening Katara with sexual assault (there's a reason why that scene practically launched the Zvtara ship) while using her mother's necklace as leverage against her (The Waterbending Scroll).
Firebending dangerously at Aang after he wanted a break from the intense training Zuko put him through
Calling Iroh "the laziest man in the Fire Nation" to his face.
Taking out his frustration and impatience by throwing a firebending attack at one of his crew ("Boy in the Iceberg"). People always forget this one.
Trying to start a fight between Mai and Ty Lee just so he can see Mai be more emotional.
Unanimously decided to burn a remnant of his family's happier past right in front of his sibling's eyes, without so much as thinking what she might feel about that.
Told on his sister to his physically abusive father (the guy who mutilated his son for speaking out of turn) that she'd lied to him about something very serious then left her with said abusive father with no warning
Violently robbed dozens of Earth Kingdom civilians for stuff he didn't need just for the hell of
Ask Sokka to tell him the story of his mother's murder because Katara was rightfully still suspicious of him and then proceeded to talk Katara into going after the man, stealing Oppa one of the only remaining things of Aangs culture, telling aang to get over it and his cultures beliefs aren't just wrong but stupid and ignorant and not once offering Sokka kind words about his mothers murder or Sokka's grief over it and using him for his own means.
Trying to get Katara to murder someone so that she would forgive him, since he felt entitled to her forgiveness.
Viciously mocking Katara as "a big girl now" when she says she's capable of protecting Aang
Hired an extremely dangerous assassin after a group of children who have repeatedly shown him kindness and saved his life.
Took the side of the oppressors solely for selfish reasons after seeing how wrong and harmful the war is, knowing that his beloved uncle could get killed by the enemy as a result.
Yelled at Iroh, after betraying him, "You're a crazy old man! You're crazy! And if you weren't in jail, you'd be sleeping in a gutter!”
Burns down the Kyoshi Village and after reuniting with the survivor that he attacked, gives a half-assed "apology".
After being ordained as the absolute ruler of the nation, was never assed to discharge his ex-partner, who commited treason to save his life, out of prison, or check if she's even alive. Mai was released thanks to her uncle, not Scar
Kidnapped the Avatar during the seige of the North Pole which indirectly entailed Princess Yue's death.
Comics!Zuko
Dangling his mentally ill sister over a cliff while telling her she ruined his life by being born.
referring to Ursa and the royal family as "my mother" and "my family" right in front of his sister's face several times.
not visiting his sister for almost two years until he wanted her help finding their estranged mother. (but he did visit their abusive father with tea for advice)
reassure his mother that their was no need to look for his sister who went missing in the forest because "she can survive on her own."
abuse his authority and order his ex-girlfriend to come back when she tried to leave him.
manhandled katara only to say he "doesn't to hurt her”
Calling Ursa 'His mother' to a bound and unwell Azula's face, while he sits on a throne he had brought into the asylum for him to sit on."
Zuko never mocked Aang's culture. But of course you would see it that way.
And you realize that him doing bad things and then making up for them is the point of his arc, right? You do realize that he worked to make up for what he did and redeemed himself to all the people he hurt and that they accepted his apology and became his friends, right? You do know what a redemption arc is, right? How are some of y'all going on about Azula redemption arcs when you prove that you don't believe people can change, considering you always lambast Zuko about the actions he worked hard to fix and make amends for? Almost like you don't know what the fuck you're talking about.
And enough with your weird abuse apologist nonsense when it comes to the comics. He dangled her above a cliff because she attacked him while he was sitting there talking with Aang, and he was trying to get her to stop attacking him. Please look up the definition of "hyperbole." It's never said that he didn't visit her, and even if he didn't, he doesn't have to, considering she's tried to murder him several times and doesn't want anything to do with him anyway. He doesn't have to visit her just to get insulted. He refers to Ursa as his mother because she is his mother, and Azula has always established a facade of not caring about her mother. He didn't go after Azula because she ran away from him, and he doesn't have to chase after someone who doesn't want his help. He "ordered Mai to come back" because he was already stressed and tired and didn't know what he was saying. He obviously said something stupid in the heat of the moment which he never had any intention whatsoever of following through on, and he immediately calls himself an idiot in the very next panel, which must have conveniently slipped by you. He "manhandled Katara" because she was attacking his soldiers. The "throne" you're talking about isn't even that luxurious, and Azula is bound because she's constantly tried to kill him and is a very dangerous person, a fact that she proves everytime Zuko gives her any leeway at all. The comics have some ridiculously OOC characterization, but it still doesn't mean you can go on this victim blaming trip and act like Azula is this poor victim of mean old everybody else. Y'all are one step away from saying Kiyi abused Azula, my god.
And of course, you're that ableist weirdo who's calling Zuko "scar." What a way to show you care about abuse victims, am I right? Do me a favor, stop entering spaces where you are not wanted or welcome, and get a life instead of sending deranged rants to people's inboxes all day long. Also, thanks for sending this to me twice, so I can both respond and also IP block you. Get off my blog.

ATLA rewatch thoughts, Book 1 (eps 7-11)
7) Winter Solstice Part 1: The Spirit World - The introduction to spirit world of ATLA is just WOW!!! Hei Bai’s design is so kickass, and I loved everything about the spirits and the spirit world. SPIRIT WORLD MY BELOVED
8)  Winter Solstice Part 2: Avatar Roku - So far I’ve been just going along for the ride while rewatching Book 1, and I started to get invested (again) with ep 7, but this ep is where I am ALL IN. And Aang as Avatar Roku???? OMGFKDJHSDKSJHDFKSHD!!!!
9) The Waterbending Scroll - I always feel uncomfortable whenever I watch this episode, because Katara is petty and jealous and insecure for most of it. But it’s also totally realistic! Aang picks up waterbending so quickly, and he does it better than Katara, who has been struggling to teach herself for years because the war (ie FN) has stolen all the waterbenders from her tribe (so she steals the waterbending scroll from people who “shouldn’t” have it). The reason for her inability to master waterbending is tragic and makes me sympathetic toward her despite her attitude. But she probably doesn’t even consciously think about the reason, and the way she acts (unpleasant as it is) is very much like a teenage girl who feels deeply insecure and inadequate when someone else shows her up at “her thing.”
10) Jet - Ah yes, the much-maligned episode of Book 1. But I actually LOVE this episode, and it’s one of my favorites in Book 1! I think people (esp Kataang fans) don’t like this episode because of Katara’s brief relationship with Jet. I’ve also heard complaints that Katara is OOC, and some people understandably can’t stand Jet. But everything about this episode is so fascinating to me, from Jet’s obsession with revenge against the FN, to the conflict between Sokka and Jet, to Katara’s eyes being opened at the end, and everything in between. There’s a lot to dig into in this episode that’s only 20 minutes long. Ultimately, Sokka is the star of this episode, and it really puts his ingenuity on display.
11) The Great Divide - This is the one episode I usually can’t stand, so would you believe that I ACTUALLY ENJOYED IT???? 😱 Yeah I was surprised too LOL! I watched this one mostly paying attention to Aang’s role and the conflict that plays out between Katara and Sokka, which parallels the Gan Jings vs the Zhangs, since it is 100% about Aang’s first real task as an Avatar who mediates conflict. And you know what? Aang really shines in this episode (which is really the only reason I enjoyed it). Until this point, he’s a 12-year-old kid who has been traveling the world as a free spirit, but this is his first test as an Avatar who will have to resolve conflict, because that will be his primary role in (eventual) times of peace. I used to hate the ending, and I still don’t like it, but this time I actually understand what the writers were trying to do. What Katara says to Sokka before they escape the canyon is a clue as to what the ending is about - “I don't care about this stupid feud, I just want us to get out of here alive.” Later, when the two tribes are starting to find common ground after working together to escape, they start to fight again because of their history, which cannot be changed. Aang wants the tribes to get along and end their “stupid feud,” so he tells this made-up story to rewrite that history, which is the only way he can get the tribes to listen to his message to “respect each other's differences enough to share the same playing field.” So yeah. I think the episode was trying to pass off Aang’s tactic as clever and effective, but I still find it to be.....strange. And it’s still my least favorite episode 🥲

Thinking about the Avatar!Ty Lee AU because it has taken over my mind:
Have you figured out how "The Kyoshi Warriors" would go differently?
Ahahahahahaha
Okay here's what I have in my notes which is a LOT:
They still stop at Kyoshi Island because Aang wants to ride the big fish. They also learn that you can convince Azula to do dumb shit by saying some variation of ‘bet you can’t!’ or ‘Are you scared?’. Because as soon as she’s challenged she’s like ‘Fuck you I’m going to ride the giant fish!’. Much to everyone else’s exasperation.
THey end up ambushed and brought to the main village and get the whole 'Oh hey we have the Avatar.... Avatars? It's complicated.' thing. Like, they've figured out the Split thing but they don't know entirely how it works yet but they're just saying 'yeah we have two Avatars it's fine'.
Both Aang and Ty Lee get mobbed by the fangirls. But they have different reactions. Aang gets his more Canon 'it goes to his head a bit' thing.
Ty Lee just... doesn't like it. She ends up hunkering down in their guest house with Mai. Eventually Mai questions her because Ty Lee usually loves attention on her. But..... Ty Lee confesses that it's not so much them loving 'her'. They don't know her, she hasn't done anything to get that attention. She's just being compared to someone else entirely. 'Ty Lee' doesn't matter to them. Mai is like 'Understandable reaction. Feel free to hide as long as you like."
I mentioned in a different ask about how Katara is allowed to relax in the first two Books. Because they have Iroh here as the responsible adult. So while she voices her worry of them staying here too long, it's not her main focus as Iroh assures her it's fine to take the break. In reality, he's more like 'I'm going to let you kids enjoy this because you won't have a lot of time for joy along the road and it's best to have that break when you can get it."
And now for Suki my beloved!
Sokka still gets to meet Suki and she makes him chug Respect Women Juice. Though we do get Zuko and Azula watching them for different reasons. Zuko’s is ‘for some reason I am very interested in watching these two spar against each other’, while Azula is just here to watch Sokka get his ass kicked after the sexist comments earlier. If Suki didn’t kick his ass she would’ve and it's a miracle none of the girls have decked him yet.
But we get parallel conversations. First the Sokka and Suki one:
Suki: "Your friend seems to have a crush."
Sokka: "Which friend and who?"
Suki: "The guy watching us spar? I've seen that look from many of the new recruits watching the older girls practice. I'm not sure if he's crushing on you or me though."
Sokka: *realizes he's not sure whether to be jealous over Zuko having a crush on /Suki/ or /Zuko/ having a crush on Suki.*
Sokka: *Bi panic as he realizes that he has a crush on both of them*!!!
Meanwhile the Zuko and Azula conversation.
Azula: "So… You're watching rather intently…. And as your bratty little sister it's my obligation to tease you about your obvious crush!"
Zuko: "Idk what you're talking about I don't have a crush I just like watching them spar! You're watching too!"
Azula: "I'm here to watch Sokka get his ass kicked. But you seem much more… appreciative of Suki's tactics."
Zuko: "I'm appreciating both their skills? I'm not 'watching' Suki any differently than I watch Sokka!"
Azula: "......"
Azula: "So don't panic but do you have a crush on both of them?"
Zuko: *immediately panics while Azula nearly dies laughing*
Eventually we'd get to the end of the episode with the Fire Nation showing up to burn shit down. Ofc since Zuko is a protagonist now he's not part of that, but it's just a matter of time before rumor spreads of 'the Avatar is on Kyoshi Island' and someone else shows up. We miiiiiiight get a first glimpse of Zhao in this scene but it doesn't matter because none of them really interact until later so whatever.

Atla - villains and there seven deadly sins
Here’s an essay of a specific set of ATLA villains with a possible primary sin that they identify with. Let me know if you agree with my list or suggest an atla villain that I haven’t listed and associate him/her with one of the sins that best fits.
Unalaq = Lust: Particularly, the lust for power. Unalaq’s motives are arguably the most monstrous but also kinda confusing. As he states, he spend his life studying the spirits and learning their ways. He’s mostly acts cold and unfazed, the only time he takes joy on anything, it’s him inflicting horrendous and savage misery on others and he seems to take a little too much enjoyment with his merger with Vaatu. He can't seem to stand the idea of someone having power that he doesn't which is the main reason he hates his brother, who was to become chief of the North Pole and later fathered the Avatar, and is implied to be one reason why he merged with Vaatu. It’s likely that Vaatu’s the one who got into Unalaq’s head because Unalaq, at times, acts less of a right-hand man more of a mindless minion. It helps that the color-scheme of his cloths matches that of the associated color of lust.
Zhao = Gluttony: Zhao’s motives are for the sake of eternal glory and worship. He easily gets higher rankings and is addicted to the destructive power of firebending, caring little for the temperance to control it and the fact fire itself can consume anything its path is reason enough for him to believe fire is the superior element.
Kuvira = Greed: She stems far off from her intended position and sought to take as much control and wealth as possible. She becomes obsessed with loyalty to the point she sets up “education camps” for those who are disloyal. As Kuvira's powerbase builds up, she shows signs of megalomania and a power trip.
Zuko = Envy: Yes I know he joins the heroes later on but his motives from when he was a villain are reason enough to list him. In his monologue with Aang, he reflects of a “perfect life” Azula has and how everything came easy to her and is beloved by all. It’s easy to understand that Zuko is very jealous of Azula to the point he views her as an ever-lying competition. Ozai inflicted so much hurt and misfortune, as opposed to Zuko’s view of Azula having it easy that he uses her as an excuse, her blames her for every bad thing that’s happened to him, Iroh never really helped ease his envy and to think he of all people would understand the dangers of envy. Even when Zuko saw the light, is bettering himself and calls Ozai out for his mistreatment, he still doesn’t understand what she’s been through or she’s done for him, still trying to compete against Azula and will take the moral high-ground to justify it.
Earth Queen = Wrath: She can barely go two seconds without yelling at her subordinates for the pettiest of reasons. EQ is impatient, has a short-fuse, is an overbearing perfectionist and that fact he’ll put Korra on the most wanted list liberating airbenders that weren’t hers to keep shows she can hold a grudge. She’s basically a temper tantrum, ager issue riddled child with some inspiration from the queen of hearts, and maybe Geoffrey.
Azula = Sloth: Her viewpoint is very simple, the fire nation are the good guys who deserve to take over the world and if you refused to obey or betray them in anyway, it’s all on you and you deserve to be punished. To be forced to confront complicated and gray situations was too difficult for her to grasp and she starts losing it. She has a degree of leadership skills but she’s more comfortable being second in command than a full on top dog. Azula wasn’t that impressed that she got to be fire lord, just another another job to do, and she was clearly WAY in over head before she even got the crown. She also seems to rely heavily on her status as prodigy and never thought she’d have to work to hard, that’s how Katara managed to beat her almost twice despite Azula having some combat training. In Smoke and shadow, Azula has a cooler head now that she accepted that Zuko’s on the throne and doing all the heavy lifting but will try to force some pointers on him to help him be the fire lord she’s used to working for. I don't buy that Azula was able to orchestrate everything that goes on in smoke and shadow by herself given her mental chaos in the search, someone else has to be pulling the strings from deeper in the shadows. given that Ozai is the only one to have an affect on her, is the only one she's fanatically loyal to, is the one who nearly tricked Zuko into restarting the war, her and Ozai speaking privately under Azula's request, and her whole plan is clearly Ozai themed despite him not being physically involved. It would make sense to me if Ozai's behind it all.
Ozai = Pride: Fittingly so and not completely without justification. He’s has overpowering ambition and indomitable will. He enjoys power and will only ally with the most powerful with self-control to match but not submit to them. He’s proven himself to be a very competent ruler, he can (mostly) take criticisms and became powerful enough to where only a fully realized master avatar can stop this titan. Pride being the worst of all sins makes him, naturally, one of the worst of all villains, he’s cold and distant, even towards his own family and is willing to kill even them if they got in the way of his ambitions. Like all egotistical blowhards, he underestimated a 12 year old and paid the ultimate price. He was barley phased by the fact that his bending was stolen away by said twelve year old and is level-headed enough to almost trick Zuko into restarting the war. He fools Azula on a constant basis who she herself is no stranger to psychology and deceit. In an AU of mine, where Vaatu manipulates Sozin into starting the war through his subconsciousness and Ozai is the dark avatar instead of Unalaq, with all elements plus energybending, all sub-bendings and all non-bender skills. I picture Ozai and Vaatu being the same person instead of Ozai having to fuse with Vaatu, his dark power depletes and only harmonic convergence can bring it back. Reasons for all this is Ozai and Vaatu are very prideful characters, it wouldn’t make much sense for Ozai to submit to anyone and that would diminish his established role as the primary antagonist in Aang’s saga.

“Yeah,” she looks up into the mask’s terrifying visage — it should be worrisome that she doesn’t know what lies beneath it but she trusts the Blue Spirit implicitly. She has for the past several months. Her lips curve up and then she buries her face into his warm black outfit, his smoky and spicy scent comforting. “Yeah, I am.”
Katara's got a man wearing a mask in her apartment. Blutara.

In a bit of cross franchise-ish analysis; would the old Jedi Order look at the...Romantic escapades of Avatar Korra as a key overarching reason why people of that power shouldn’t fall in love? On that matter, how would both Aang and Korra view that ‘no romance’ rule if they see applied anyways?
So here’s the thing, the Jedi actually don’t forbid romantic attraction or their members falling in love.  It’s really easy to fall into the trap of thinking they do, I know.  I blame the whole “Forbidden Love” marketing surrounding AOTC and the fact that it was not entirely explained well in the text.
What the Jedi Order forbids is attachment and possession.  Western writers and Western fandom (including the writers and fandom of ATLA), often confuse and conflate “attachment“ with “love“, as in to let go of your attachments you have to stop loving your beloved.  But that’s not what the Jedi mean, and that’s actually arguably not what the Guru meant either.  (With Iroh encouraging Aang for choosing love over power and Avatar Yangchen basically confirming to Aang that no, he can never fully detach from the world, it muddies the waters a little bit, so it’s not as clear cut in Avatar’s case.)
The Jedi, because they are highly sensitive empaths and psychics with potentially very dangerous space wizard powers, caution super strongly against selfish love.  Clingy love.  Jealous love.  Love that is not carefully thought out and tempered by emotional control.  Kind of like Anakin and Padme’s whirlwind romance that began with Anakin idolizing an image of Padme he’d put on a pedestal for ten years, detouring into her pardoning him murdering a village because he was angry, and ending with them getting married after like a week despite knowing it was a bad decision on both ends.  When you factor in the fact that Anakin was basically willing to sell his soul to the devil in exchange for the power to keep Padme alive at all costs, despite her wishes and protests even, because he was unable to let go of his attachment to her, it becomes much much clearer what the Jedi caution against when they discourage attachment.
Also, being in the Jedi Order is a massive commitment, almost like a marriage, and romantic commitments outside of that create a huge conflict of interest, tantamount to cheating if it’s severe enough.  Doubly so in Anidala’s case since Padme was a politician!
If you’re a Jedi of the Late Republic Era (because other eras of Jedi Order did manage to find a way to reconcile Jedi duty and having families) and you fall in love, and you realize that your feelings are going to conflict with your duty to the Order and your commitment to seek balance within yourself and in the Force, you basically have to choose one or the other in the end.  Anakin wanted both and that’s what messed him up.
Now, on to Avatar!  Aang as I mentioned fell into the trap of thinking that letting go of Katara meant he had to stop loving her.  But in the end, he did give her up, to save her life, an act of selfless love that unlocked his amazing awesome Avatar superpowers.  He was immediately struck down by Azula, and we could argue (and some have!) that this is in fact the narrative punishing him for that action, for giving up Katara.  I don’t think it’s that clear cut, because I think it was done more for the shocking (pardon the pun) twist, the expectation subversion, and to bring about the downer ending of Season Two.
In any case, all over the show in other places, it’s made clear that Aang’s love for Katara is generally not a bad thing, or a thing that gets in the way of him performing his Avatar duties.  He does lose control of the Avatar State when she’s deliberately put in danger, once.  But he’s also calmed out of the Avatar State by her willingness to share in his sorrow, he unlocks the heart chakra by accepting his feelings for her, his motivation for continuing on in the fight is by him stated to be her, and so on.  He grows very emotionally mature of the course of the show and honestly could easily pass for a Jedi by the end, able to temper his emotions, and prioritize his duty to the world when the time comes.
Korra is... a good counterpoint for the opposite argument.  But I’m not sure it’s anything to do with her being the Avatar so much as her being a dumb impulsive teenager making stupid ass decisions without thinking of the consequences.
...Granted that doesn’t lead to much good Avatar-ing either.
Still, other Avatars were also able to get married with no problems.  I think what it comes down to is that Avatar and Star Wars have fundamentally different worldbuilding construction inherent in how the super-amazing faux magic powers work.  The Avatar State can be triggered by strong emotions, and is dangerous when it operates off of anger, same as the Dark Side, which is why mastery over it requires training, discipline, and mediation via unlocking chakras.  But Avatar duties do not preclude other commitments.
The Late Republic Jedi Order, on the other hand, is a much more serious institution.  They are beholden to the Republic and under its authority and must take more care to avoid conflicts of interest between their vows to the Order and any commitments they might make to outside parties.  They are at base level a monastic order.  If a priest finds he’s having feelings for someone outside of what is appropriate for his clerical station, he has to be honest with himself and either has to let them go and not pursue them, or make the decision to leave to commit to that person.
So if a Jedi falls in love and conducts what is essentially an affair while on duty, that’s bad.  (If you’re careful about it you might just get some knowing side-eye but it’s still a thin and dangerous line to tread, again, because space wizard powers and conflict of interest.)  If on the other hand a Jedi leaves the Order because they fell in love, that’s fine.  They still have to be VERY CAREFUL to not over-prioritize that person to the point where they are unable to let go of them, because that leads to fear of loss, which leads to anger at their own powerlessness, which leads to Anakin burning down the galaxy and murdering children because he couldn’t deal with things in a remotely healthy fashion.  All that is basic How The Force Works 101.  Don’t be selfish, because that leads to the Dark Side, and romantic love turns very selfish very easily.
Whew!  That was probably a lot more wordspew than you were expecting.  But to answer the original question, the Jedi Order would see Aang and think he’s probably got his shit together enough that no one really has to worry and they would look at Korra and have conniptions.  (Until she had her Character Development anyway.)  Aang I think by the end of the show would have come to a place where he understood the Jedi’s policy on romance.  Season One Korra would, ah... not.  Possibly Season Two Korra by the very end would be closer to understanding, “Oh shit, yeah, I have really dangerous powers, I should be careful in my romantic entanglements and have my emotional shit together.”  I have not watched Season Three or Four, I cannot speak for her characterization there.
But I mean... Air Nomads and Jedi both have heavy Buddhist influences so it’s not really a surprise that they’d probably vibe.
And now I want crossover fic dammit.

Don’t Play With Fire, Chap 7 First Day of Work
Um..to answer your concerns Sokka there's no need to worry. This may embarrass you to read but its all perfectly normal in women's body. The throbbing and slick you've mentioned is from arousal and the ones you mention that come randomly isn't always arousal but the way the body is trying to self clean or protect your genitals from tearing and dangerous bacteria's. Sometimes your vagina can even..well for lack of a better word let's just call it sweating, so for example say you're moving around a lot and you feel you're self dripping but its a different feeling from arousal just hot and a wetter feeling which again all normal, if you're feeling uncomfortable just wipe yourself and go through the day. I'm Glad you're taking my advice seriously and it's good to hear you're doing well with your situation. So far I haven't found anything about body swapping? gender swapping or transference of any kind I'm so sorry. Just keep staying low and being careful, we'll figure this out soon.
                                                                                                                                                              -Suki
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sokka, It's great to hear from you! We're still putting up fliers of Appa around Ba Sing Se and looking all around places. Toph and Katara are always fighting though, Katara won't let us play our tricks on anyone or even explore or relax, its all work work wor-
Anyways Sokka you better be pulling your weight and not having Suki cleaning up after you and do try to stay out of trouble okay, I do worry you know, we miss you a lot.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  -The Gaang
Sokka laughed hard seeing Toph's lone foot print right underneath his sister's and Aang's writing, seeing that told him more about her than words ever could. He really missed his family/friend group. Before he could get any sadder he folded the letter and stuffed it in his pack heading to work, he'll write a responding note later tonight.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sokka was full of energy heading towards his new job. He's curious to know how different it'll be from the other ehem manlier jobs he's done. 'Honestly how hard could a girl's job be? Katara complains all the time but I bet she was just being dramatic'  he figured. With everything double checked and his breakfast packed he went out for the semi-long walk to work.  Upon arriving to the building, Sokka went straight through the door finding the elder lady waiting for him.
"Hi, so what will I be doing today?" He asked with all the enthusiasm he could muster.
"We start by checking our list of customers who dropped off their laundry, with the other workers we'll go wash together then hang all the laundry to dry and fold, lastly we pack and send out the clothes." she explained.
"Alright sounds easy enough." Sokka followed along as she gave him a tour of the place and areas he'll be needing to know.
After a few tiring hours did he have breakfast, the work ended up more tiring and tougher than expected but he got the hang of it pretty fast and turned out he was the fastest and strongest there which turned out some of the girls didn't like. On his first day an older girl by few years was sabotaging all his work trying to get him trouble and after explaining that to the elder boss lady was he able to stay working. 'women are crazy, guys just nod at each other, find their spots to work, get paid then leave without any word to one another'  He couldn't believe how cut throat it was working as a girl alongside other girls. Just a few more hours and he'll be able to relax and enjoy Zuko's company at the Jasmine Dragon, 'oh my god I didn't just think of stupid fire bending Zuko as nice company?! I've got to get a hold of myself, I'll just blame this dumb girl body and girly brain, ick .'  He mentally shook himself from the strange feeling that came over him towards another guy.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sokka came through the door of the tea shop dramatically falling in the doorway trying to catch Zuko's eye. He spotted Zuko in the kitchen and waved to him obnoxiously, he could honestly say he liked the perplexed and fearful look in the other boys face from the scene he was causing. Walking towards the kitchen, he sat himself down waiting to tell Zuko about his day.
Since Zuko looked like he was trying to ignore him, he caught the uncle's attention instead, "Hey old man when's the jerk's break?" To other's he may seem like an uncouth girl but he really didn't care for appropriateness right after work.
"You can't talk to him lik-" Zuko was just about to rant when he heard his uncle guffawed loudly.
"Oh nephew don't worry about my feelings, I love this young lady and her wily ways, its quite refreshing from your gloomy moods." he expressed. Zuko could only scoff at his uncle's slight rub towards him.
Sokka stuck his tongue at Zuko watching as he just rolled his eyes in return.
"I'll let my dear nephew  off for the rest of the day. Please take him away and show him how to have fun for once in his life." His uncle practically begged.
The two conspired against Zuko and all he could do was hang up his apron and get dragged by Miyuki's whims, he'll never admit to either of them that he likes getting pushed around, he'll keep that to the grave.
"Great! Let's get a table, I've got tons of stuff to share about my day." He grabbed Zuko by the arm and lead him to a free spot.
Sokka waited to be settled at the table, ordering before turning around to unleash his rant. He was weirdly giddy wanting to tell Zuko about his day.
"You won't believe my day." Sokka shook his head tiredly, "So I get there, the boss lady is nice but oh man some of those girls are mean. I had one try to sabotage my work by telling me to place stuff in the wrong place and they're very particular about where things go so that messed me up some. The washing part was tougher than I thought, I had to wring and scrub the clothes til my fingers cramped and wrinkled, ugh it was tiring. Drying was easier and folding strangely calming, the whole clean-up routine was just easy and besides the rude girls, I liked the job overall and think I can stick with it." He ended with a flourish, elbows on the table smiling at the fire prince, laughing internally with Zuko's stoned-face reaction to his long-winded story.
"Sounds like a frustrating day to me, welcome to the job world I guess." Sokka could't believe Zuko's flippant reply, he honestly thought he would be more caring to his woes and again what's with himself wanting Zuko's sympathy?
"Excuse me, that's funny coming from someone whose probably never had a hard labor job before. I'm guessing you had it easy since your uncle was able to provide you one. You don't know the struggles of running around and being told flat out no or when you finally get lucky it only lasts for so long before you're replaced or treated like crap and running yourself exhausted for people who don't care but keep abusing you til you can't go on anymore." Sokka had no idea why he was throwing everything at Zuko. His emotions just started bursting maybe its the way he knows Zuko's privileged, entitled fire prince jerk that he is has everything handed to him and  just pretending to be undercover as some regular civilian to get to Aang. He could only huff in annoyance at himself and Zuko for letting his emotions get the better of him, he decided it was just best to stay quiet and not look at Zuko lest his hostility for the guy becomes more prominent.
"Well, I do find serving customers and cleaning after everyone frustrating and tiring most days. I've been assaulted by older women pinching my bottom cheeks, jealous boyfriends harassing me when their girlfriends try to be flirty at me, even got some few girls who stalked me for quite some time or the rude customers I hate who are disrespectful to me but mostly my uncle, I just want to burn them to a crisp, nobody disrespects my uncle and his beloved tea shop in front of me. I actually do know how hard laborious work can be especially with not much help and little pay." Zuko looked at the girl in front of him with all the openness he could muster. He knew she had it rougher than him but it wasn't like he didn't have his own hardships, they were just different from hers.
Sokka huffed in annoyance even more hating being so temper mental while Zuko explained himself calmly and free of judgment for his part. 'why am I such a child?'  he thought lamely.
"Ugh, sorry for being rude, I guess I'm more annoyed at the fact that I got turned down for most jobs just because I'm a girl. I know I can do the tough jobs, I've done them before and I like working hard and with my hands so it makes it more frustrating not even giving me a chance just by one look at me." He drummed his fingers nervously on the table still embarrassed about earlier.
Zuko couldn't help finding Miyuki's mannerisms and  temper cute, just seeing her emotions displayed out in the open and being ridiculous was refreshing and exciting to witness. Most of his life was closed off of emotions and barely a few months now he's been trying to open up to his feelings, they were scary but freeing and seeing Miyuki so unafraid of her emotions filled him with more confidence each day.
"I get it and if you'd like something more.. uh manlier to do, I can train you in dual wielding after whenever you'd like." He offered.
"Oh? Is that a date dear Lee?" Sokka jumped on the chance to embarrass him, something about seeing Zuko so flustered had him feeling awesome. He liked being back in control and harassing the poor teen.
"Ugh no, if you don't want the training then I won't bother." The tips of Zuko's ears went red as he looked glaringly at Sokka.
"Nooooo, I want the training really." To soften the blow of annoying Zuko did he mentally shrug and go for a kiss to the bender's cheek. He gasped in total surprise as he felt heat around his lips and a waft of what could only be the fire bender's particular scent, it was in his nose so thickly and strangely addictive he wanted to keep his nose to the other's cheek and soak it up forever even be mixed in it. 'What 's wrong with you?! Why are you smelling another dudes scent, stop! Stop it nooooow!'  he couldn't believe how soft a cheek could feel and was that a bit of scruff he felt, it felt so rough on his lips he actually didn't like that. Finally did he pull away and hope to agni the shudder he felt coursing through his body didn't show outwardly.
Zuko was surprised from the peck, it happened so fast but had him feel deeply warm from such a sweet kiss. "Um, how uh- or I mean.. What else did you like about the new job?" Yeah, his brain was done for.
Sokka rolled his eyes playfully, "How bout we talk more about it on the way to walking me to my place?" He held out his hand nervously.
"Okay." Zuko agreed grabbing her hand walking out the shop and down the familiar path to Miyuki's place.
The two caught up with each other's day, some more teasing, awkward flirting and plans for the next time they meet unaware of the mischievous moonlight's gaze upon them.

Pairing: Zuko x Ama (OC)
Word Count: 7500+
.☽☼☾.
~ Ama ☾ ~
"...And then my father basically refused to let her see me again." Suh cackled. "And rightfully so. I'm so glad I realized that becoming friends with the maid's daughter was not the way to go. So improper."
"Uh huh." I responded dully, slowly stirring my tea for no reason other than boredom.
When I agreed to lunch with Suh I didn't know what to expect exactly. But what was happening right now definitely made me hate agreeing to it. I could have made up something stupid. Like that Katara needed me to help her with some last minutes decorations or that Sokka wanted to train with me.
I only agreed to this so that maybe, just maybe, I would come to like Suh. And to prove to everyone that I didn't have feelings for my ex.
The woman chatted away. Barely giving me room to say anything. Not that I cared, really. I was zoning out so much that I didn't even know if I'd be able to hold conversation.
I got the general story. Suh was out playing with another little girl and broke her arm somehow. Then she and her family blamed the little girl, who was unfortunately the maid's daughter.
The way Suh talked about the maids and others who were considered "low-class" made me sick. She talked about them as if they were animals or lesser than.
Her obnoxiously loud voice and cackle got everyone in the restaurant staring at us and sending annoyed glances. I didn't blame them. I'd probably do the same if I were in their position.
"Oh, goodness." Suh gasped and giggled. "I just realized that I've only talked about myself this entire time." You just realized this? "So what were your maids like as a child?" She delicately picking up her noodles with her chopsticks. Spirits, can she eat any slower?
"Oh, I didn't have any maids." I informed her in a matter-of-fact tone.
"Oh." Her lips formed an 'O' shape and she seemed confused. "I don't understand, you father is Head Chieftain. You live in a palace." She laughed lightly, like she thought I was pulling her leg.
I shrugged. "During the war all of the men went off to fight. So the women and kids just tried to make due with what we had. I mean, we helped each other but no one had maids."
"Oh no wonder you're so humble." Suh gasped. Like she had just solved the world’s greatest puzzle. "Ama, you are so brave to have taking care your siblings for all those years."
"Well, I was more like we took care of each other." I tried to correct her, but Suh just talked right over me.
"Oh, I wish I had siblings." She grinned. "I admire you so much. It must have been so hard for you to leave them."
I stayed silent. I wasn't exactly sure what Suh wanted me to say. I wasn't sure about anything during this conversation. It was weird. Talking to Suh was weird. How does Zuko deal with this? I know I wasn't exactly pleasant either, but Suh had no boundaries. I could only imagine how he reacted if she pressed for him to talk about his family.
"Well?" Suh said in a curious tone, expecting me to say something. "Was it hard for you to leave your siblings?"
That question felt a bit... forced. It was sort of oddly placed in the conversation. Oh who am I kidding? This entire conversation has been odd. Maybe I'm just reading into this entire thing too deeply.
"Yeah, I think it's always hard to leave the people closest to you, no matter how long it'd be." I answered her.
"And, uh. What about leaving Zuko?" She asked more nervously. Goodness is this just a jealous girlfriend thing?
"It was hard to leave everyone." I told her. "But I don't regret it. My time away gave me the time to understand myself."
"Oh, like your whole bisexual thing." She giggled. "You're not attracted to me, right."
"No, I'm not." I faked a laugh. I don't know how to interact with this woman anymore. I stayed calm. She doesn't know boundaries, that's all. Just like Shemi. And I love Shemi. She's the sweetest.
"Good. Cause that would be gross." She snickered with her hand over her mouth.
I gave her a distraught look, but kept a smile. "Excuse me?"
"Oh, I mean this in no offense to you. I just think that two women together is unseemly." She saw nothing wrong with what she was saying. I take back what I said. Suh in nothing like Shemi.
Despite having a huge urge to throw my cold tea at her and educate her about what is okay to say and what isn't. I held my tongue. But I couldn't stand to be here for another minute.
"Oh my goodness, Suh I'm so sorry." I faked a gasp and placed my hand over my mouth to sell my shocked expression. "I just remembered that Katara needs my help soon."
"Oh, I thought she and Aang were just doing light work today with the chef." Suh responded with a light head tilt. So she has part of a brain I see.
"Well, yes." I nodded. "But she needs my help with picking up a package. She wants me to take it back to the venue as soon as it arrives."
"Oh, okay." She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and look around nervously. Like the people in the small Water Tribe restaurant scared her.
"Thank you so much for understanding." I sighed in fake appreciation. Slipping a few coins on the table to pay, which may have been more than it should have, I left the establishment.
I sighed in both frustration and relief the moment I stepped out into the cold air. Technically I wasn't lying that there was a package I needed to pick up. Originally, I was just going to get it after lunch, but I didn't realize how good of an excuse it would be.
Walking to the post office, I thought about the conversation with the irritating woman. There was just something so off about the whole thing and about her. I brushed it off. Was she obnoxious? Yes. Was she rude? Even though she didn't notice it. Yes. But was she some evil mastermind like my gut was telling me? Definitely not.
I did find it weird how Zuko was actually, dare I say, happy to be with her. I mean. The Zuko. The man who jumped in front of lighting for me before even telling me the full extent of his traumatizing childhood is somehow incredibly compatible with a girl who asked for my entire life story the second day I knew her. But I guess he just changed more than I thought he didn't since the last time I saw him.
"Hey sis!" I almost jumped at Sokka's voice. I turned around, seeing my brother jogging over to me on the sidewalk to catch up with me. "I thought you were still with Suh."
"Oh that? Yeah, I left." I huffed a laugh. Finally next to me, I interlocked my left arm to his right arm so that we could walk together.
"Ha!" Sokka laughed. "I don't blame you. She is incredibly talkative and annoying." I felt relieved that he was actually agreeing with me, unlike my other friends.
"And when she asks these incredibly personal questions." I added.
Sokka groaned and threw his head back in annoyance. "She asked how our mom died last night." I shook my head and sighed. "I tried to tell Zuko not to bring her to boy's night, but Aang was okay with it, so my argument meant nothing."
"Ah yes. The groom has the final word." I laughed.
"You know I only saw Zuko without her hanging off his arm once since they got here." He held up his index finger to make a point. "And that was when you guys had the bridal shower. Those two are always together."
"Aww, is my brother sad he doesn't get to hang out with his boyfriend?" I quipped with a fake frown.
"Oh shut up." He replied. "I'd just be nice to hang out. Just us guys doing guy things. Not shopping."
"Shopping can be manly." I argued.
"Maybe if we were shopping for weapons. Not jewelry." I scoffed at him. "Besides, I was really hoping for a good spar. Like the good old times."
"What about me?" I shrugged while i made my suggestion.
"We tried that a month ago." He pointed out and gave me a smug look. "I won."
"Right, except I was still out of touch with my weapons." I pointed out. "The 8 months at the air temple didn't really give me a lot of time to practice with a sword."
"Well if you're really in the mood to get your ass whooped by me again. Alright." He agreed, positive he'd win again. "We'll meet in the training yard tomorrow morning."
"Sounds like a plan." I chuckled.
"Where are we going?" Sokka finally asked, furrowing his eyebrows as he looked around the block. Trying to piece together where we were.
"The placement cards and the ceiling drapes arrived today." I told him. "I'm actually glad you're here to help me take the boxes back to the venue."
"Knew I shouldn't have come over." Sokka grumbled under his breath.
"Hey, Sokka. Do you think that there's anything malicious about Suh?" I wondered. I knew I already dismissed the idea, but I still needed a different opinion.
"Malicious? About Suh?" He repeated. His tone already telling me that he didn't think so. "Sis, the girl's a pain, but she's too peppy to wish anything bad upon anyone. Especially on any of Zuko's closest and most beloved friends."
"You're right." I nodded. "I just have this gut feeling that she's hiding something."
Sokka laughed loudly at that. "Suh is an open book. That girl explained her entire childhood in extreme detail. If she were hiding anything it'd probably be about something stupid. Like that she's had beer before." I laughed at the random thing he said and gave him a confused look. "I swear she almost threw up after the first sip last night." He claimed.
Gosh I missed Sokka. His randomness and his cheery attitude always brought a smile to my face. He spewed so much nonsense during the rest of the errand that I didn't even think about the offputting woman again.
.☽☼☾.
~ Suh ♛ ~
The moment Ama left the restaurant, I stood up as well. No way did I want to be in some substandard Water Tribe restaurant more than I had to. I set down the payment for the food and left.
I knew she'd probably be waiting for me. Fuck. I didn't want to have to see her. Last she told me, I was to meet her at some old Fire Nation ship not too far from the town. I didn't exactly know why she would choose some old and gross place, but it wasn't like she could get an room at an Inn.
Ugh. I hate snow. I grumbled as I made my way to the rendezvous. How do these people deal with it all the time? It's freezing and it's wet. I couldn't wait to get back to the Fire Nation.
Finally arriving at the old ship, I found a tear in the metal and climbed through. The entire boat was standing on large pieces of ice, holding it above the rest of the terrain. A part of me was scared that the entire hunk of metal would fall through the ice, but another part of me knew I had to keep going. I couldn't avoid her anymore.
I didn't even know where I was going. I just kept walking through the metal hall. "Shit!" I yelled and tripped forward. I looked at my feet. I just tripped over a string. Furrowing my eyebrows in confusion, I sat on my butt. And then I realized it was a tripwire. The metal under me rumbled and creaked. I didn't have time to more away and fell through the trapdoor.
I screamed in fear, falling through the steep slide backwards. Until I finally came to a slow stop. I looked around. It seemed I just landed myself in some ice tunnel. At least the ice reflected the light from outside so that I can see clearly.
"Wonderful." I grumbled to myself. Not only did I just walk into some unknown ship that was believed to be haunted, but now I'm lost. How the hell am I supposed to get to her now? I pushed myself off the cold and hard ground. And wiped off the stray pieces of snow that stuck to my clothing.
"Well, finally." Her voice caught my ear. I turned around to see her and crossed my arms.
"Hello, Azula." I greeted back. My tone kept it's peppy and cheerful tone. As opposed to her cold and venomous one. I was a perky person. It's a part of my personality. And it worked wonders to get me what I wanted. No one expected the giggly and seemingly foolish girl to play others like a game of chess.
Azula wore all dark clothing. Her long sleeved gray tunic was tucked into black pants. And she wore a black tunic. Her dark brown hair was put into a high ponytail, ending just below her shoulders. Even clothed in the less than royal clothing that she would wear during the war, Azula's essence commanded to be treated with respect and to be unquestioned.
Her hands were on her hips and she smirked at me with her red painted lips. "I was beginning to wonder if you backed out of our plan." She shrugged and started to walk down the ice tunnel, making me follow her.
"Right, well pardon me if I'd rather spend my time with your brother." I stated matter-of-factly. "Besides, it wasn't like I was just gonna ignore you the entire time."
Azula rolled her eyes. "Leiza if you want to be Fire Lazy you need to learn not to keep others waiting."
"Don't call me that." I grumbled. "That's my old name." I realized that we just entered what looked like an entire room. Old animal skins were on the ground, seats make of ice, a fire on the side of the room with a pot on it. Azula had made herself a semi-comfortable home for herself. Well, for the time being.
"I know that. I gave you your identity." She waved her hand to prove a point. "I do hope you hold up your end of the bargain, though." Azula took a seat on the animal skin, sitting criss-crossed. I sat across from her, grimacing at the feeling of the fur.
"Right, well Ama isn't exactly that cooperative." I told her. Azula scowled, but kept quiet to let me continue. "Everyone trusts me. Even that little lie-detector." I recalled the hours Azula spent teaching me to lie expertly. "Ama is the only one holding back."
Azula laughed at me. "Of course she's holding back. You have a tendancy of speaking before you think. You don't want to offend the girl. Plus, you're with her ex."
"I thought that she moved on from Zuko." I snarled. "There was that Munal girl or whatever her name was."
"Zuko got struck by lighting for that little water baby." Azula pointed out. "As much as everyone might say Zuko's in her past, my brother is always going to have a place in her heart. The same goes for him."
I'm no firebender, but if I were there would be smoke coming from my ears. "Well she can't have him!" I shouted. "I love Zuko! Not her! And he loves me!"
"Where did that peppy attitude go?" Azula looked amused at my angered expression. "Don't make me regret breaking you out of that mental institution all those years ago, Suh."
"Whatever." I grumbled and rolled my eyes.
"Whatever feelings they might have for each other. It'll be gone soon enough." Azula asure me with her devilish tone and her eyes narrowed in a cunning way. "Remember the plan."
Zuko will end up with me. I will be Fire Lady. That was the goal. Spirits, just the thought of being with Zuko brought me so much happiness and excitement. I know that I was technically lying to him. About who I was.
Everything about my childhood was true. I grew up rich. My father was a general in the war. But I was sent to that damn mental institution. They called it an "obsessive disorder." But I called it ambition. Azula broke me out six years ago. We pretended to be the kemurikage for a while. Most of the other girls broke away. But I stuck with Azula.
Azula was manipulative, just like me. I stuck with her for Zuko. She was my ticket to be with him. I was patient and calculating. And now I had him. He loved me for my personality. He told me that I was the one for him. I took care of him so that he wouldn't overwork himself. Because I loved him. Plus he was so good in bed. How could I resist a man like that?
"So, what have we learned?" Azula asked me.
"Ama didn't like when I brought up her late girlfriend." I started. "It hit a nerve."
"No kidding." Azula scoffed, probably already knowing that. "I need details, Suh. If we're going to do this right I need you to start from the beginning."
I mentally growned. Looks like I'm going to be in this dank, disgusting place for a while. But if it meant I got what I wanted in the end. Fine.
.☽☼☾.
~ Ama ☾ ~
The day was actually not freezing. There was no wind this morning, which was rare. The air was still cold, don't get me wrong. Usually I'd wear my coat in order to keep warm, but given that I was about to kick Sokka's ass, I didn't need my coat.
Neither of us have forgotten about the little sparring session. And it was no surprise that the others wanted to watch. No one would pass up the chance of finding something to make fun of later.
The training yard was pretty standard. It was placed to the side of the palace, beside one of the many mountains. The usual light snow covered the ground in order to prevent any serious injuries. But that also meant one would have to be extra conscious about their movements to keep from slipping.
The perimital of the rectangular training area was a pathway made of rock. There were snowy blue pillars, holding up an overhead covering. Benches were placed under it for anyone watching. In this case, that meant our friends.
I did my last triceps stretch before tightening my ponytail. "Are you sure you still wanna fight me?" Sokka asked me, swinging his sword to the sides as he approached the middle of the yard. "After all, I am one of the best warriors of the Southern Water Tribe."
I created my own sword out of ice while approaching him and stopping a few feet away from him. "What? Afraid you'll get beat by your sister?"
"Of course not. I just know that sword-fighting isn't really your style." Sokka shrugged. He took his stance. Legs apart, right foot in front of his left, swatting slightly and his sword held up by his head. I also got into the same stance, preparing for the spar.
         "Go Ama!" Ty Lee cheered.
"Show him who's boss!" Suki cheered as well.
Sokka looked at his girlfriend with his mouth hanging open. "Suki! Who's side are you on?" She only laughed in response, leaning back on her hands to watch the show.
My brother and I stared at each other competitively, waiting for the other to make the first move. He moved first, stepping forward and swinging his sword at me. I moved my own sword, blocking the strike. While I pushed it away from me, I stepped to the side, kicking my brother on his side.
He stumbled a bit at the impact, but quickly regained his footing. I took the moment to attack, swinging my weapon across. Sokka stepped back and spun to the side. He tried to strike me from above and I blocked it, holding my sword above my head. Tilting my weapon, his sword stid off to the side.
I then swung my sword violently across. Sokka almost didn't see it coming, ducking under the blade. He looked at me with some shock. I gave him a cocky smirk, taking a few steps back while throwing the weeping from one hand to another.
He ran towards me. I spun on my right foot, dodging his blade. My right hand gripped his wrist, letting me elbow Sokka harshly in the chest. He stumbled back and I swung my sword at him. He quickly reacted with his weapon and the metal hit briefly.
Spinning for more momentum, I took another swing. It made contact with Sokka's sword and it slipped from his grasp. The weapon landed a few feet away. I kept my sword up, pointed at my brother.
There were a few cheers from the benches. I was starting to enjoy my victory too quickly. Because Sokka kicked the kilt of my ice sword, and it fell out of my hand. Also landing a few feet away from me. Sokka sprinted over to his sword.
Now I had a fraction of a second to make a decision. Either run to my weapon or keep Sokka from getting to his. I took the latter. Sprinting after my brother, I slid on the ground, kicking the sword even further away just before he reached for it.
But he was running too fast, and now I was in the way. Sokka tripped over me. My side now hurt where his foot collided with my body. My brother was now closer to the sword but I scurried to roll over him to get in between him and the weapon.
We both stood to our feet with our fists up and I went to punch him. He swat my arm away and I tried again, getting the same result. He in turn attempted to punch me back. I grabbed his wrist and twisted his arm.
"Ow ow ow!" He shouted in pain while I stepped behind him, his arm twisted behind his back. I kicked the back of his knee, making him kneel on the ground.
"So." I grin proudly. I love winning. Always a good feeling. "I win?"
Sokka groaned, hesitant to let me win. But for the second time during that fight. I got too cocky. My brother slid one of his legs back and kicked it under me, making me let go of my grip on him as I fell on my side. Sokka reached to pick up his sword quickly and pointed it at me just as I sat up on my butt.
"Sorry, sis. You just gotta admit that I'm a better warrior than you." He claimed his victory.
"Okay, fine." I grumbled. Sokka lowered dhis sword and held his arm out to help me up. But I just slapped it away and got up by myself.
"You're such a sore loser, ya know." My brother laughed at me while I already started heading to the benches.
My ponytail had become loose during the spar and I had strands of hair sticking up. Sokka's warrior's wolf tail wasn't much different.
"Gotta say, though, you're good with a sword." He complimented while we walked to the benches with friends. "Just not as good as me." I sucked in an annoyed breath and clenched my jaw at his taunting and he burst out laughing at my expression.
"Well you don't have to rub it in." I grumbled and crossed my arms over my chest.
Katara stood from her seat and wrapped an arm around both our shoulders. "It doesn't matter who's better. Just that you both gave it your all and did wonderful."
I scoffed. "No, I disagree. Being better matters."
"One way or another, we're all better than each other." Sokka pointed out. "Ama's better at fighting with waterbending, Katara is better at healing, and I'm better at everything else." Katara and I shared the same annoyed look, but we both were still humored by our brother.
"Sweetie, I think it's time to go." Aang got up from his seat.
"Oh! Yes, I think it is time." Katara grinned widely, leaving Sokka and I to join her fiance. He wrapped his arm around her shoulders and she wrapped her arms around his waist. They were so cute. Sure, the "sweetie" nicknames were a little nauseating, but they expressed so much love for eachother.
A small smile tugged at my lips knowing that my sister would spend the rest of her life with someone who made her incredibly happy. Forget that he's the Avatar, he's a good man and I couldn't imagine Katara being with anyone else.
"I didn't know you guys had wedding duties to attend to." Suki spoke up, also getting up from her seat to stand by her boyfriend.
         "We don't." Aang replied.
"We have a date." Katara blushed. "With all the planning and preparations, Aang and I haven't had enough time just by ourselves. No distractions."
"Yeah, instead those distractions get thrown on me." I smirked jokingly.
"You offered!" My sister exclaimed with annoyance in her tone.
"I'm just teasing." I laughed. "Enjoy your date, you two." Rolling her eyes, Katara and Aang went to leave the training yard and to whatever it was that they had planned. "So what's everyone else got planned?" I turned to everyone else who'd been silent.
"Mai and I are going to try snowboarding!" Ty Lee answered and then placed a thoughtful finger on her chin. "We aren't exactly sure what it is, but we've been told it's fun." I chuckled at my friend's bubbly personality.
"Suki and I are going to the market." Sokka grinned, intertwining his hand with Suki's.
I then turned to Zuko, waiting for a response. "Fire Lord duties. Unfortunately, work doesn't stop for the Avatar's wedding." I frowned. Work during a vacation? Sounds awful.
"Aw, I'm sorry, baby." Suh pouted, linking arms with him and cuddling up next to him. Zuko just smiled and chuckled at her. "I'm lucky I brought some books with me. Today is perfect to me to just sit back and relax."
"Didn't know she could read." Mai muttered so softly that I could only hear. My hand covered my mouth to keep from laughing loudly. The others looked over at me and I faked a cough.
"Ama, you should go." Sokka said very dryly. I gave him a sort of offended look at how he wanted me to leave. "No seriously. Auntie Nalle hates when people are late and you are a sweaty mess."
I looked down at myself. Sokka was right. I couldn't exactly go to Auntie Nalle with my messy hair and sweat stained shirt. "Right, uh." I realized. "Well then, I'll see you all at dinner." There was a series of "byes" and "laters" from the group as I left the yard.
Today wouldn't be a bad day. Auntie Nalle graciously offered to bake some of the pastries for the wedding. All I had to do was confirm what Katara wanted, figure out how many were needed, and then hopefully I wouldn't have to stay for her gossip.
.☽☼☾.
I hate gossip. Don't get me wrong. I love a good scandal every now and then. However, I don't really enjoy speculations about people. I should've just told Antie Nalle that I really didn't care if Eyin stole Vulla's soup recipe. I haven't talked to them in years.
Luckily though. The day was coming to an end. I didn't even think I'd be at dinner after all those sweets I was given. The sun was still high up in the air, telling me that most of the others were probably still busy.
And I was in no hurry, so I walked through the courtyard beside the palace slowly. Breathing in that sweet smell of the afternoons in the Southern Water Tribe. It gave me so much nostalgia. Taking me back to when my siblings and I would have snowball fights and then go back home where mom would have dinner ready. Like her steamed dumplings. She'd scold me about my messy hair or maybe how I tore my coat. Still, I'd give anything to go back to those days.
I ran my hands through my loose hair and looked up at the sky. Just then, a messenger hawk flew above my head and landed on one of the window sills of the palace. It was one of the windows for our hallway. Who's receiving a letter?
My walking slowed down in curiosity. The window finally opened and Suh poked her head out. I narrowed my eyes and moved closer to one of the pillars, hiding behind it, but still getting a decent view of the window. Suh took the message from the compartment on the hawks back and the animal took off into the sky again.
The woman unrolled the paper, reading over it. Her eyebrows pinched together and a grimace found its way to her lips I wasn't good are reading lips but it looked she either said something along the lines of "are you fucking kidding me" or "ate a funny kidney".
Finishing the letter, Suh rolled the letter up and again. Then she poked her head out again, looking to her left and right. She was looking to see if anyone saw her receive her letter. I quickly brought my head behind the pillar again so she wouldn't see me.
Fuck. No one looks that suspicious when receiving a letter. My mind tried to find some logical response to keep me from spiralling into some conspiracy. Maybe it was a family member or work? No she doesn't work. And what kind of familial letter would get someone to react that way? From what I've gathered, she didn't have any issues with her family.
I looked around the pillar, seeing that the window was now closed shut. I crossed my arms and narrowed my eyes. What are you hiding, Suh?
.☽☼☾.
"Where the hell do you think you're going!" I shouted. My tone was etched with anger and also humor while I chased a thug that was running away from the city he's been terrorizing for so long. I threw my right arm up, water flew past me and turned to ice around his feet.
The man tried to move, but there was no use. My running slowed down and I walked towards him with a light skip in my step. "Oh, you're going to pay for this." The grumpy middle aged man grimaced at me.
I gave him a flat smile, bending more water to create handcuffs made of ice behind his back. "No, you're going to pay. In a cell" I stated matter-of-factly and removed the ice around his feet to lead him back to the village.
I lightly shoved him into the back of the carriage, where he and the rest of the criminals would be taken away to a larger city to be locked up. Most of the smaller villages didn't have enough policemen to uphold the law or even a place to lock up said law breakers. Leaving them vulnerable to bandits and thugs like these guys.
"My village can not thank you enough." The mayor expressed his appreciation to myself and the rest of my group. "We do not have much to give, but please accept some of our fresh vegetables and meat."
One of the older women stepped towards us with a basket filled with carrots, tomatoes, meats, and other things. She handed it to Masha and she bowed her head in thanks.
Mulan stepped forward to speak to the mayor, putting her katana into its sheath. "Thank you, for your generous gift. It was an honor to fulfill our duty in ridding your town of those criminals."
She was always so respectful to everyone. When speaking to officials especially, Mulan's voice was polite and unwavering. And because of that, we were respected back. But trust me. The moment someone stepped out of line, she'd be sure to put them back into their place.
We all bowed to the mayor to bid our farewell and left the village to set up camp for the night. "We have enough here to make a stew!" Masha looked through the basket. "We're eating good tonight, my fellow bastards!"
.☽☼☾.
At dusk that day, Masha was standing over a large pot, cooking us all a stew. I sat on the grass with my back against a fallen tree, taking in the sight of my new friends.
After Mulan introduced me to the Miraculous Bastards a month ago, I joined them. It wasn't much different than when I traveled with Aang and the others. We never spent too long in one place, taking down gangs and others who took advantage of villages and the average citizen.
The group was made up of five people, including me. There was Masha. She had light brown, messy hair and brown eyes. She was like the caretaker. Always asked if we drank water, great cook, sewed our clothes. She sort of reminded me of Katara. She was the only earthbender; and she was a damn good one, too. I hoped to one day introduce her to Toph. Despite having two very different personalities, I wondered if they'd get along.
Then there was Bono, Masha's twin brother. Same brown hair and brown eyes. He was the quiet, observant type. He liked to keep a journal with him at all times for haikus and to draw landscapes. Unlike his sister, though, Bono wasn't a bender. Instead, he was skilled with the bow and arrow and double swords. His sympathetic nature made it incredibly easy to talk to him, but not as much to joke with.
Taon was Masha's boyfriend. He was a firebender from the colonies. His reckless and adventurous personality made him incredibly fun to be around. I remember the first night I was with them he woke me up in the middle of the night to go looking for a saber-tooth moose lion; for no reason other than the fun of it. I was convinced that if it weren't for Masha, he would've gotten himself killed in one was or another.
And lastly, Mulan. Spirits, where do I start. She was no bender, but her fighting was incredible. She mastered many forms in a multitude of weapons, incredibly flexible, strong. A true warrior. She was the unofficial leader of the Miraculous Bastards. Her posture and voice commanded respect and she was always prepared for anything. But she was also so sweet and it was so easy to talk to her. We'd spend hours talking nonsense and laugh at Taon and Masha's bickering.
But even after a month of knowing her, there was still the feeling of nervousness around her. After meeting her, that feeling of missing something in my life disappeared. It kind of felt like when I had a crush on Zuko, before dating.
"Alright, everyone! The stew is ready!" Masha grinned happily, pouring the first bowl. I stood from my stop and joined the others around the pot.
"Masha, this smells incredible." I complimented as I got handed a bowl.
"Thank you." She accepted the compliment, holding the last field bowl in her hand. "It's the perfect meal for this special occasion."
"Oh, what's that?" I wondered curiously.
"Today marks one month since you've been with us." Mulan reminded me with a light nudge. I couldn't help but blush lightly at the touch.
"Yeah, we're really lucky to have you with us." Bono added.
"An incredible fighter and an even better friend." Taon lighted his bowl up in the air and cheered. "To Ama!"
"To Ama!" The others repeated, lifting their bowls up as well.
I laughed with them and shook my head. "You guys are amazing, But if I'm being honest, I should be the one lucky to have you all. A bunch of rascals who like to beat up bullies? My kind of people." They all laughed at my words. "But really, thank you for letting me join you all."
"Of course." Masha assured me. "Now, let's eat before this all gets cold."
I took my spot by the fallen tree to eat. Masha and Taon sat not far from me, starting to engage in their own conversation. Bono didn't like to be disturbed when he was eating and sat further away from us all. And Mulan sat next to me.
Neither of us said anything at first. We both focused more on the vegetables and the beef in the stew. But we both also wanted to say something to each other.
"Masha is probably the best cook I've ever come across." Mulan broke the silence and set the finished bowl down beside her. "I remember the first time she cooked for me when we were 16, I tried to convince her to own a restaurant or something."
"Well, she'd definitely do well." I finished my stew as well and set it on my lap.
Mulan looked over at the others, seeing that no one was really paying attention to us. "Hey, let's get out of here." She pointed away from camp with her thumb.
I raised an eyebrow, both in curiosity and confusion. "And go where?"
She shrugged and made her suggestion. "There's a lake not far from here. I got water from there earlier."
"Sound fun." I agreed, moving the empty bowl to the ground and standing up. Mulan smiled at me and stood up as well. No one noticed us leave the camp. Which isn't necessarily a problem, we shouldn't be away long.
I followed the redhead through the trees, listening to the sound of crickets. "Here it is." Mulan announced as we finally arrived at the lake. There wasn't a ton of light tonight because there was only a half moon in the sky. Mulan grinned at me and then took my hand, pulling me with her to the lake. "Check this out."
She placed her hand in the water and moved it from side to side. The water that moved glowed a bright blue. My jaw dropped at the incredible sight. "Wow." I gasped and dipped my hands into the cold water as well. "How does this happen?"
"It's a chemical reaction in the algae." Mulan answered. I gave her a curious look, wondering how she knew that. "My parents studied it a little. They were herbalists so they found this stuff interesting."
"It's incredible." I admired the incredible sight. You truly do learn something new everyday. With a mischievous smirk, I splashed some water at Mulan. The woman gasped in shock as I laughed. She splashed me back, and the droplets fell on my face and chest. "Oh, okay then."
I bent the glowing water till it was over the redhead. "Ama, no!" She squealed and tried to back up while still on the ground. I dropped the water, drenching her in it. Her hands wiped the water out of her eyes and she gave me a playful glare as I giggled uncontrollably.
And without warning, Mulan lunged at me. "Ahh!" I shrieked while she pushed us both into the lake. The edge of the lake was still pretty shallow, allowing for us both to sit up and it only reached to our waist. "What the hell?" I laughed.
"You started it." She retorted. I bit my bottom lip and shook my head at her. I bent some more water to throw at her, but Mulan moved further into the water. "Nuh uh. Sorry, sweetheart but you're gonna have to catch me first."
I scoffed amusingly while the redhead dove deeper into the water. I took her up on that challenge and followed her in further. She wasn't really trying to outswim me. I caught up to her pretty quickly, tackling her and we both submerged into the lake. The water glowed at all the movement we were making.
Breaking through the surface, the two of us gasped for air and giggled. Luckily we weren't that deep and could stand. The water ended just above my waist. "I didn't think this through." Mulan muttered, looking down at her soaking clothes.
"Relax, I can bend the water out of our clothes when we get out." I reminded her and moved closer to her.
Just for the curiosity of it, I bent the water, moving it from side to side as it glowed. I took it a step further, swirling it around my body and then around Mulan's. The two of us giggled while I slipped the water back in the lake.
"No matter how often you do that I'm always to mezmerised but it." Mulan looked at me in awe. "Well, it's either that or just the gorgeous woman who's bending the water." I turned to look at her and our eyes met. Her green eyes felt like they were seeing every inch of me. Every insecurity and every flaw. But also every beautiful aspect and everything admirable.
Neither of us said anything. My eyes looked down at her heart shaped lips. She never painted them, but they still had an orange tint to them. Which I thought was absolutely unique and beautiful.
Mulan leaned in hesitantly, waiting for me to back away. But I didn't. In fact, I also leaned in. She closed the gap and her soft lip finally met mine. It felt perfect and pure. But just as quickly as it happened, she pulled away and hastily started to trudge through the water.
"Wait, Mulan!" I called and started to trudge after her. Was the kiss bad? Was I bad?
"I shouldn't have done that." The woman replied with a distressed tone. She scrunched up her hair, getting the water out and she stepped out of the lake.
"Why? Was it me?" I wondered. My chest felt heavy with worry that I had just made a complete fool of myself. I was already planning to leave the group. I couldn't stay if it was just going to be awkward.
"No, no. It wasn't you." Mulan told me.
"Then what?" I grabbed her wrist to keep her from leaving further.
She turned around with tears in her eyes and she shook her head. "You were perfect." She started. "You are perfect. I just can't do this to you."
"What? Do what?" I begged to know.
"You're a hero, Ama. I can't be the reason you get shunned and rejected by the world." He looked down at her hands to avoid my look. "Like what my parents did to me." It clicked in my mind. Just a moment ago, it felt like it was just me and her. But there's still an entire world that wouldn't be thrilled if two women fell in love. Mulan's parents being one example.
The thing was. I didn't care. I placed my hand on both sides of Mulan's cheeks, wiping her tears away with my thumbs. "Fuck the world." I told her and shook my head. "This can just stay between us or we can shout it from the rooftops. It doesn't matter. I just don't want to have to reject how I feel about you."
Mulan raised her head, looking me in the eye again. "And how do you feel about me?" She wondered with a soft smile.
"With you I feel happy. I feel like I can do anything with you by my side." I told her. "I like you more than a friend."
Mulan wrapped her arms around my waist, pulling me close to her. "I like you more than a friend, too." And we kissed again. It was soft and loving. And, again, it felt perfect. "I can't tell you hold long the others were trying to convince me to make a move." She giggled when she pulled back a little.
"Did Teon try to give you a pep-talk?" I asked with a humorous smirk.
"Yeah and then Bono did a better job at it." Mulan responded and the two of us laughed. This felt right. I didn't know in that moment, but it wouldn't last. The feeling of being pure.

Mason (now Junior) Pines (I KNOW SOME OF YALL WONT BEIIEVE ME BUT I THOUGHT OF THIS NAME BEFORE DIPPER’S REAL NAME WAS REVEALED):
16 years old
Bisexual
He’s kinda nerdy but likes sports. Very protective of family. He kinda has anger issues. Just don’t mess with his family or anyone he cares about. Very kind but can come off as cold hearted because of how much he cares like Winer from RWBY or Katara from ATLA. He’s popular. He is very much likes and feared by bullies
Faye Pines:
14 years old
Lesbian
Backstory: Mason was super excited to have a little sister. When he was around 4 and went to her crib by himself in his little kid voice he said “I pwomise to always look aftwer you” But then Kate came. Mason started hanging out with Kate and wasn’t there for his sister as much. At least that’s how she felt
Faye is a very energetic girl. She loves make up and shopping. She’s very optimistic and likes to have fun. Loves going to the mall. Boys at school fawn over her. Her best friend is Hazel. She is jealous of her brother and Kate. She hates her brother for “leaving” her. She just wants to hang out with him. And she doesn’t exactly know why she doesn’t like seeing Mason and Kate together but she really admires Kate.
Mabel’s kid (The husband is a made up character I made. Hopefully I talked about him when taking about them as teens)
Hazel ‘Pines’:
14 years old
Pansexual & Poly
Hazel is the sweetest girl. She’s super kind and shows is. She’s very empathetic. She has a lot of hope. She believes in change and redemption. She’s has the perfect mix of prettiness and smarts. She’s also some weird powerful child like the avatar. She was born with blue eyes and has the real power of telepathy.
Wendy’s Kids (She’s a lesbian. Idc what y’all say)
Kate Corduroy:
16 years old
Bisexual
Kate is the cool girl like her mother except she has more of that stereotypical optimistic and chill side. She isn’t secret stressed 24/7. She doesn’t actually like people thinking she’s just like her mother. She is VERY free spirited and yes she also breaks rules like cliche teens. In fact Mason joins in on breaking rules with her. Kate also like skateboarding which she has tried to teach Hazel how to do.
Gabe corduroy:
14 years old
Gay
Gabe is the sweetest boy. Very kind. But also easily scared. He loves his friends. KINDA hates his brother. Musical theater nerd 100%. Poor baby gets bullied a bit. Has a crush on Mason.
Gavin Corduroy:
14
Straight
Tbh he’s kinda an incel. He’s basically sokka. One of those jerky guys but will end up learning to not be an incel. Was kinda homophobic. Him and Gabe were trying to persuade Faye and Hazel before but then Gabe and Hazel of course didn’t work out and Faye is a lesbian... soo... oof.
(Yes the last two are twins)
Tambie kid:
Hunter: typical good kid who likes the bad boy aesthetic. Hazel likes him for who he is and finds his trying to be bad boy quirk extremely adorable. Hunter can be a little emo. Honestly he’s a lot like Varian from the Tangled series.
Laura: (Idk if I talked about her yet. But this is Amada’s child)
Laura was on the evil side for a long time. Like Zuko. She’s very stubborn and arrogant but she’s not that bad if you get to know her. Which Hazel did. Mason hates her tho. Laura has a similar personally to her messed up mother but also similar to Cassandra from The tangled series. She’s honestly a pretty complicated character. It’d be easier to explain her with questions
I have a character I haven’t named yet. She’s just guard girl. Remember this is a future royal au. She’s pretty normal. Very sweet. Chill. Just hangs out. She can be pretty shy tho. She beloved in the “no talking to the royals” rule. Which she didn’t realize wasn’t a rule in this kingdom. She and Mason have talked a little. She had a thing for him but now here are some of the ships based off crushes or what I think people would ship and then I’ll put the ideal ships which I might explain later if I feel like it
Mason x Kate ((was the ideal ship but I love the idea of it being Wendy’s son crushing on Dipcifica’s son even more: BFF Childhood friends to lovers)
Mason x Gabe (IDEAL SHIP: Not bffs but still childhood friend-lovers trope)
Mason x Laura (This would be such a popular ship because of the aesthetic. It’s like Zutara but so much better because they have the Dipcifica chemistry)
Mason x Guard girl (Cute But Nah)
Kate x Faye (Kinda ideal ship. It was and idk if I wanna keep it. Hopeless/hopeful pining shipping)
Kate x Hazel (A really cute ship. Two kind skateboard girls. Cute idea)
Kate x Laura (I only just thought of this. The idea is interesting)
Kate x Hunter (Nah. Wouldn’t it work. I know this is the only guy ship with Kate aside from Mason but it really wouldn’t work. Kate wouldn’t even consider Hunter. They would be good friends tho)
Faye x Gavin: Lmao sike. Faye is a lesbian y’all.
Faye x Laura: (Interesting. But Laura is more likely to pick Mason even over Faye. Sorry Faye 😭 but If my au got popular I wouldn’t be surprised to see fanart of them)
Gabe’s best ship is with Mason
Gabe x Hunter (Two cute dorky boys. Meh. Perhaps)
Gavin x Hazel (She might help him to be less of an incel.. but nah. They both have to give something)
Gavin x Laura (For spoiler reasons this cannot happen)
Hazel x Laura (IDEAL SHIP)
Hazel x Hunter (IDEAL SHIP)
Laura x Hunter: (MAYBE. Cool goth mean “evil” mean girl and a dorky fake “bad boy” as her boyfriend. Certainly interesting)
Gavin x Gaurd Girl (IDEAL SHIP)
I realized I never made a kid for Soos and Melody. I’ll think about it.

In His Own Time
Sokka intercepts Hakoda before he confronts Aang and Katara at the Moon Festival about the status of their relationship and explains how deeply connected they are. This fits about a year before the beginning of "My Heart in My Pocket" and sets up the confrontation that ultimately will lead to their betrothal. Kataang Week 2017, “unconditional” prompt.
Rating: T; 1,557 words
Hakoda sat at the end of the table fuming.  For six years, he’d had scores of offers for Katara’s hand, and for six years, she had brought Aang home with her for every wedding, every festival, and each time, they seemed more familiar with one another.  All through dinner, he’d watched them, and he’d watched the other members of the tribe watch them.  He’d watched Katara coax him into trying dish after dish, her chopsticks sometimes carrying bites from her own plate to his lips.  He saw the way her entire body leaned into his, the way Aang turned his face into her ear to whisper to her, the way she smiled when he spoke to her. He saw the way Aang pressed her body into his when they danced in the council hall, one hand just below the small of her back, and how he gathered her hand to his chest over his heart, like it was precious.  He saw the way she swung her body as they swayed, teasing him with her nearness, her loose hair tumbling down her back, and the hungry look she gave back to him when their eyes met, both of them oblivious to the world around them. Worse, he heard the malicious whispers that the members of his tribe barely made an effort to hide, full of innuendo and scandal, suggesting that chief’s daughter’s virtue had been stolen by the Avatar . . . and that they didn’t even have the decency to try to hide it.
Katara and Aang sat on a rabbit-seal pelt between two raging fireplaces, almost hidden in the velvety shadows cast by the raging flames.  Aang’s back was propped against the wall, and Katara had snuggled into his chest between his legs, her hand lazily stroking the length of his thigh.  Hakoda saw Aang draw the back of his fingers down the side of Katara’s face, allowing the thumb to caress the side of her neck, stopping just above Katara’s necklace.  Katara reached up, lacing her fingers in to his, and when she looked up at him, the flickering light and dancing shadows played off the contours of their faces as Aang dipped his head to kiss her, his slow kiss deepening into something more passionate.
Hakoda had had enough. He rose abruptly from his bench, but a heavy hand fell immediately on his shoulder.
“Yeah, you don’t want to do that.”  Sokka took Hakoda’s elbow and guided him in the other direction.
Annoyed at the interruption, Hakoda asked, “I don’t want to do what?”
Sokka flicked his gaze from Hakoda and back to Katara and Aang pointedly.  “Leave them be.  The man damn near died two days ago in an ambush by some Ozai supporters, and they barely got out.  To say the least, Katara’s emotions are running high, and if you confront them, Katara’s likely to explode in the middle of the council hall.”
Hakoda scowled.  He knew better than to tempt Katara’s temper. “I don’t like it.  Practically every man of marriageable age has asked for her hand, and she won’t accept any of them.  She seems set on the one man who won’t propose.”  Hakoda crossed his arms and leaned into the wall at the back of the hall.
Sokka glanced back at Aang. “He will when the time is right . . . or he won’t if there’s never adequate peace between the nations.  He carries the weight of the Avatar’s office and won’t put down his responsibilities.  You should understand what that feels like.” Sokka ignored Hakoda’s glare, shrugging. “There are precisely three things in Aang’s world:  Katara, the ground beneath her feet, and the air she breathes.  Everything else fits between them.  Aang feels personally responsible for the suffering caused by the Fire Nation.  I don’t think he will ever settle down and start a family until he can be sure that the world will be safe for their children.”
Hakoda snorted in derision. “At this rate, they won’t marry until they are Kanna’s age.  Katara could have a good life here . . . I don’t understand why she hangs on to him when he has no intention of offering her an honorable marriage.  This . . . dalliance . . . sullies her honor and our names.”
“Katara will never leave him . . . in her heart, I don’t think it matters to her anymore if they ever marry.  I’m sure she thinks about it and wants it, but not having it doesn’t change how she feels about him.  She accepts who he is and accepts her place with him, whatever form it takes.”
“I don’t accept it.  He’s preventing her from living the rest of her life.”
Hakoda started to walk away, but Sokka grabbed him roughly and drug him back.  “He is the rest of her life.  If you confront them, you will alienate her. It will drive him away in shame, and it will break her heart.  She will never leave him—he needs her at his side, and it’s the only place she knows who she is.”
“Then why won’t he propose?”  Hakoda’s furious hiss carried, and several heads turned their way. The bystanders guessed what the chief was arguing with his son about, and they smirked knowingly and elbowed one another, laughing.
“If he proposes, you can say no, and that will be the end of it.  I don’t think he will risk losing her.”  Sokka nodded in their direction.  Both of Aang’s arms were now wrapped tightly around Katara, her head resting on his shoulder and her body cradled in his arms.  They swayed slightly in time as Pakku sang an ancient ballad from the North in the center of the hall.  From across the room, they could see her smile as they talked, and when she reached up a hand to cup Aang’s face, he had closed his eyes, content.  “If you push this, you will lose her.”
Sokka continued, “She has pulled him back from the edge of death more times that she can probably count, and she knows that one day, he may not come back, but she stays.  She herself has escaped the spirits’ call way more times than you know about, but she stays. There’s no rest and no reward for being with him—it’s a lot of long days of negotiating and running and fighting, but she stays.  He has nothing—no family, no nation, no home, but she stays.  Believe me, she sees the sly looks the women give her and hears the nasty comments about Aang and her honor . . . some of the women in the tribe go out of their way to be particularly cruel . . . but she stays.  I think she knows that he may never propose, and that her hand may never rock a cradle with his child, but she stays.  Believe me when I tell you that there is no condition under which she would willingly leave him . . . nothing he could do that would alter in the slightest her devotion to him.”  Sokka looked directly into Hakoda’s eyes.  “Honestly, Dad, he deserves her devotion—every decision he makes is about Katara first and foremost, and she is what he lives for.
“Aang would walk away completely broken if you confront them—he loves her enough that he will leave her if you tell him it would make her happy or be in her best interest. But if you think that Katara would ever consider taking another man while Aang still draws breath,” Sokka shook his head, “you don’t know her at all.  I don’t honestly think she would take another man even if Aang did stop breathing.
“You weren’t there when he died in Ba Sing Se, but I was.  If she hadn’t been able to bring him back, she wouldn’t have survived it.  If she had, she would have spent what remained of her life hunting Azula to the ends of the earth.  Trust me, you don’t want to do this.  Let Aang come to you in his own time.”
When Sokka turned to look at them again, Katara’s eyes were closed and she had reached an arm up, her fingers curled around the back of Aang’s neck.  She was drowsing in contentment, a sleepy smile on her lips, basking in the warmth of the fire and the comfort of her beloved’s arms.  Sokka smiled.  “Ignore the whispers and the jealous complaints of the tribe—it’s not their concern.  Let them be happy.”

Scars that Define Us
I missed the proper Day 3 because I am sick. So Day 3 is a day late. Day 4 will also be late. This is a continuation of Days 1 & 2 so I recommend reading them. Once again, I am obsessed with story telling so that plot to smut ratio is disproportionate. My apologies.
On the balcony, Katara could see the stars. She traced the vague lines of the constellations with her eyes. They were unfamiliar stars, and Katara felt a little lost when looking up at what should be the same sky.
It made her think that she had crossed into another world. One in which she did not completely belong.
“Hey.” Katara cringed and then let her head fall forward.
“What do you want Aang.” She said, more of a resigned statement than a question.
“Geeze, I just wanted to say hi.” Aang came forward till he was standing beside her, his hands clasped behind his back. He was starting to grow a beard as his face lengthened and thinned out. Adulthood looked better on him than she had expected.
“I think you wanted to say much more than that.” Katara said as she lifted her head to glare at him. Aang raised a brow and looked back at her.
“What does that mean?”
“Why did you bring Pema?”
“She’s, well, she’s my girlfriend now Katara.”
“But why did you did you bring her here?”
“Katara, it’s been like two years. I’m allowed to bring my girlfriend.”
“I just don’t appreciate you bringing the woman you cheated on me with to a dinner you knew I’d attend.”
“I didn’t-.” Aang sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. When he lowered his hands, he looked at her evenly. “It’s been two years.”
“It’s still a scar Aang.”
“Then I’m sorry it hurt you. I didn’t intend on doing such a thing.” He held out his hand and Katara hesitantly put her own out. “You still mean a lot to me and I would never intentionally hurt you.”
Against her better judgement, a slight hiss escaped her mouth. Aang sighed again but squeezed her hand.
“I am done being sorry Katara. It’s up to you now whether you hold onto this scar or let it heal.” Aang let go of her hand and walked back into the hotel ballroom. Katara’s hand curled into a fist and she let it fall to her side.
“Well that was fun.” Katara whirled around and nearly jumped. Zuko was climbing over the railing of the balcony and Katara watched in amusement as his pant leg got caught on one of the pegs dotting the top. Zuko scowled as he tried to maneuver his leg high enough to get it uncaught. Katara, chuckling slightly, walked over and pulled the fabric up and over the peg.
“How long were you watching?” She asked genially as Zuko brushed off his pants.
“Oh, man, the whole time. What a train wreck.” He said and Katara laughed.
“Well, first, what were you doing crawling over the railing?”
“I obviously had to sneak around the long way so that no one saw me joining you. Next?”
“Why did you call it a train wreck?”
“Because Aang is an idiot. Scars don’t heal, they define you.”
“Yours doesn’t define you.” Zuko grabbed her hand and placed it on the center of his chest.
“You’re not thinking of the right scar.” Katara felt her face flush and she stayed quiet. She remembered the winding branch-like shape of scars that radiated out from a spot on his chest.
“So how does my scar define me?” She asked, her voice unexpectedly soft. Zuko kept her hand on his chest but used his other to pull her closer. Having his hand resting on her hip, so casually, caused her pulse to race.
“Right now, it makes you defensive and untrusting.”
“I trust you.” She whispered and Zuko lowered his face to hers.
“Because you know I would give my life for yours.” He whispered back and kissed her, softly. Katara felt herself melt a little, and his hand went from her hip to her back, holding her a little more firmly.
“I love you Katara.” He murmured when he broke the kiss. Katara’s eyes fluttered open and she found his golden eyes searching hers.
“I love you Zuko.” She moved her hand away from his chest and threw both arms around his neck. He responded by wrapping his around her middle and they clung to each other as they kissed again. Now, when they broke away, each seemed to be breathing a little faster.
“Where’s your room?” He asked.
“Second floor. Room 218.”
“You head up. I’ll wait thirty minutes and meet you.” A quick kiss and Katara stepped away.
“See you soon.”
~
Katara found herself almost giddy as she walked up the stairs from the lobby. It wasn’t until she had gotten to her door and pulled her key out that she paused to think.
She had worried for weeks about whether or not Zuko had been faithful while she was away. Yet the first moment they’re alone, she could only think about getting into bed with him. Katara scowled as she slid her dress up and over her shoulders. Standing with only a pair of panties - a bold new fashion accessory that didn’t feel totally comfortable to her yet - Katara regarded the bed.
Surely, she thought to herself, if he had found someone else then he wouldn’t have kissed her.
Unless, she countered, he had only decided to have someone to keep him company during her absence.
Katara scowled and shook her head, trying to dispel the thoughts. She trusted him. She loved him. And he loved her.
Muttering wordlessly, Katara went to the adjacent bathroom to wash her face.
When Zuko made his way into her room, Katara was sitting on the bed, her legs drawn up to her chest. Zuko took one look at her, raised his eyebrow, and started to take off his shirt.
“What’s on your mind?” He asked after he removed the piece of clothing. Katara pulled a pillow from beside her and clutched it to her chest.
“I don’t want to ask.” She said.
“You’re bothered by something though.” He stated as he sat on the bed and began to untie his shoes. Katara, staring at his back, nodded.
“It’s something you don’t want to talk about because….” Zuko paused and pulled off a shoe. Katara stayed silent knowing that he was thinking, not pressing her to say anything. “Because you think I might get mad?” Katara huffed out a breath and put her face into the pillow. She kept her eyes up to watch him.
“Okay, not mad. But, you think I might get upset with you somehow?” He asked as he pulled off the other shoe. Katara let out a small grunt.
“It’s something that bothers you because it exists and it might upset me.” Zuko said and stood. He turned and found that Katara had buried her whole face into the pillow. “Are you feeling jealous that Aang brought Pema?” Katara’s head snapped back up.
“No!” She felt her face flush again and she clutched the pillow tightly.
“I just, was worried…” She drifted and looked away.
“What were you worried about beloved?” Katara’s eyes watered and she leaned her cheek on the pillow.
“I was worried that you would have, found someone else. While I was away.”
“What.” Katara looked quickly back at him and found his face blank.
“I don’t want to think like that, but I do.” She muttered. Zuko sighed and his shoulders fell. But then he gave her a small smile and her tears threatened to spill over.
“Katara, mistrust isn’t a good thing. Especially in a relationship like ours that has to rely so heavily upon it. But look,” Katara had buried her face in the pillow again as he spoke. “Look at me.” Katara raised her gaze up and found Zuko sitting on the edge of the bed again. “I love you. But more importantly, I respect you. And I wouldn’t betray anybody like that who I respected.”
“I know that Zuko. But the thoughts still come.” Katara said and began to cry. Zuko crawled up the bed toward her and reached out a hand. He wiped away her tears before sitting cross legged in front of her.
“That’s because the scars you hold are defining you wrong.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Your mother died and she left you. Your father went to war and left you. Your brother went chasing love and left you. Aang couldn’t love you the way you needed and you felt like he left you. These are all scars. One day you will learn that they didn’t make you afraid, they made you stronger. That you understand what bonds are important. That you understand loyalty. And that when someone leaves you, it doesn’t mean all or nothing. But right now, you’re just frightened about being left again.” She had begun crying harder now and Zuko put a hand on the pillow. “You felt like you had left me, and you know how bad that feels, so you think I did something to make myself feel better. And that you deserved it for leaving me.” Katara pushed the pillow away and fell into Zuko, sobbing against him.
“I’m sorry.” She choked out and Zuko pulled her into his lap. He stroked her hair and kissed her hot wet cheek.
“There is nothing to apologize for. You can’t help the way you feel Katara, only how you act upon those feelings.” He held her, one arm over her legs to keep her close, and one hand still stroking her hair. Katara had her arms around his neck and put her head on his shoulder.
“I love you Katara. And there isn’t another woman on earth that I would rather be with.”
“I don’t know why you want me.” She muttered into his neck. “I’m a mess.”
“Oh, there are a few things.” He stopped stroking her hair and instead began to stroke the side of her breast. Katara shivered and smiled.
“You only want me for my body.”
“Okay, one, no one would blame me if that were true. And two,” Zuko lifted her as he rose to his knees. “I actually only want you to get closer to your brother.” He tossed her to the head of the bed and Katara squealed.
“Please do not seduce me and talk about your strange man love for my brother at the same time.” She said and tossed the remaining pillow at him. Zuko deftly swatted it aside and looked down at her.
“Fine. I’ll just have to occupy myself.” He bent over and ran a finger over the front of her panties, lightly touching her clit and the lips of her pussy. He then tucked the finger under one edge and pulled the fabric off to the side. “There’s better conversation here anyway.”
Only half of her was exposed but Zuko slid his tongue between her and the fabric, gently touching the inner pair. His tongue moved upward and flicked her clit, which caused Katara to gasp and twitch. He then pulled her panties completely to the side and thrust his tongue into her.
He moved deftly. He would probe into her, part her lips with a flattened tongue, suck on her, tease her clit with the barest touch of his teeth. When he thrust his tongue into her, it was like he was trying to consume her. In and out, up and down, his mouth worked her till she came, her hands clutching fistfuls of his hair.
Then he moved, putting his head next to hers. As he kissed her, his tongue was moving again. She tasted herself just as his fingers slipped past her panties and went inside of her. She groaned into Zuko’s mouth and he grabbed her, two fingers in her, and his thumb on her clit. Katara gasped and he rolled his thumb. He lifted his head to watch her, his fingers moving in and out of her in a circular motion as he rotated his thumb over her clit. Now she came and clutched the sheets.
Without a word, Zuko stopped and slid off the bed. As Katara watched him undid his pants, taking a moment to shimmy out of her panties. Just as silent, Zuko returned to her and knelt between her legs. His hands, slightly calloused but warm and gentle, ran up her sides, across her chest, and then down her front, resting on her stomach.
His hands moved up again and as his palms brushed over her breasts, her nipples hardened, and Zuko smiled. He had hardened already and the length of his cock rested on her swollen lower lips.
“I would say that no other woman could compare, but that would mean that I was looking. You are the only one I want Katara.” He said as he slid his hand up, up her neck and around to the back of her head. He massaged her scalp and she closed her eyes, happy.
“I have the love of the Fire Lord.” She chuckled and Zuko’s hands moved down the back of her neck, his fingers pressing firmly into her skin.
“And I have the love of the most powerful Water Bender in the world.” He murmured. His hands now went across the back of her shoulders, around, and to her front. He rested them on her breasts.
“Don’t you know what happens when water meets fire?” Katara asked, her voice tinged with sadness as she thought of it.
Zuko had no time for melancholy.
“Let’s find out.” He said and pushed into her. Katara gasped, her back arched, and Zuko squeezed her breasts.
“Looks like,” He said as he pulled out a little. “It makes steam.” He thrust back into her and Katara gasped again.
Putting both legs over his shoulders and both of his hands on either side of her chest, Zuko braced himself over her. His cock, when he thrust, was buried completely in her. She could feel the head bumping into the end, and she moaned each time.
“It’s been a long time Katara.” Zuko said and kissed the inside of her thighs. “I don’t think I can last long.”
“We have more time. Just fuck me hard.”
Zuko sat back up, her legs still over his shoulders, and he hammered into her. As her breathing became more shallow, Zuko began twisting and rolling her clit. Biting her lip and clawing at the sheets, Katara could feel a need coiling between her legs. Every time he rolled her clit, he rolled the need tighter. Every time he thrust into her, it added more pressure.
When it snapped, Katara arched her back and cried out. A moment later, Zuko pulled himself as deep as he could go and spent himself inside of her. She could feel him pulse, feel her insides warm.
Then he collapsed on her, burying his face in her neck and pressing his lips to her skin.
“I cannot hold out when it’s been so long.” He said. Katara smiled as she moved her legs off of him and back onto the bed.
“It’s a lot like our first time.” She replied.
