Mission: Impossible 2 (2000)
This is a Movie Health Community evaluation. It is intended to inform people of potential health hazards in movies and does not reflect the quality of the film itself. The information presented here has not been reviewed by any medical professionals.
Mission: Impossible 2 has a screen that starts up with a harsh strobe effect roughly 52 minutes into the film. There are brief but harsh flashes of light when an environment illuminated in green light is entered. This scene is shortly followed by extensive use of rapid-firing firearms, and strobing alarm lights.
One of the opening scenes involves intense peril at extreme heights. Handheld cameras are used occasionally, and there are multiple flying and skydiving scenes. The final action scene takes place at high speeds and involves helicopters.
Flashing Lights: 7/10. Motion Sickness: 5/10.
TRIGGER WARNING: A lot of innocent people die in the opening attack scene. One character obviously but silently contemplates suicide in one scene.
NOTE: Our evaluation of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is now available on our Patreon page at Patreon.com/MovieHealth, and will be available on this page on Tuesday, July 18.
