This will be of interest to a very limited audience (aka me, my sister, maybe one or two other people on the planet) but I took the Hunger Games simulator and put Match Game people through it. The result is priceless.
Our tributes:
(Honorable mentions to semi-regular cast members like Bob Barker, Patty Duke, Mary Wickes, etc.. Not enough room and if I’d expanded the cast to 36 then that was too many. I realize that folks like Bill Anderson and Jack Narz were not particularly regular panelists at all but I loved their appearances on the show so much that I needed to include them.)
Let the Hunger Match Game begin…
Pretty much everyone ran away. Solid strategy.
Day 1. It seems fine at first but things got very bad very fast.
Suddenly we’ve got FOUR deaths on the very first day. Debralee died in a dumb accident, Nipsey is out for his own teammate’s blood so badly that he DECAPITATED him, and Gary Burghoff just offs two people right away. Yikes.
Stay tuned…

On Monday, October 10, 2022 at 10:30 am, The Empire State Center for the Book and the Pretty Penny Literary Landmark™ Committee hosted a public dedication of the Literary Landmark™ honoring Helen Hayes and Charles MacArthur. The event was held in the Community Room of the Nyack Library. The public dedication was the culmination of a weekend of celebratory events honoring Hayes and MacArthur. The event was held on October 10 because it is the birthdate of Helen Hayes.
Joyce Bulifant (former daughter-in-law of Hayes and MacArthur) unveiled the plaque with Joel Vig, friend of Hayes and the event organizer.
The plaque will be mounted on the exterior wall at Pretty Penny, the former Nyack home of Hayes and MacArthur.

The Continuing Story of…
This is the soap opera Somerset, a spin-off of Another World that ran from 1970-‘76. Though the program aired in the ‘70s, it’s amazing how creaky parts of this episode (broadcast 11/7/1972) are, especially with the old-fashioned organ music heard during the runtime. Still, it’s compelling enough that it makes me wish I could see the storyline’s conclusion involving a clown named Jingles. (Seriously.)
Of all the actors in Somerset, I only recognized Jordan Charney, best known for appearing in Three’s Company as Mr. Angelino, the owner of a restaurant Jack Tripper worked at:
More familiar faces can be found in the commercials, such as Lara Parker for Prell shampoo:
Joyce Bulifant for Biz detergent:
And Ron Carey for Alpo dog food:
