“Add her to the list of women we won’t publicly castigate because she wears the correct colors and says the correct things! She’s a good’un because she does what’s popular right now, so we’ve decided she should remain free from harassment.” 🙄
Like yeah, of course she’s going to want to protect trans kids, she has one. Keeping the machine going is probably very important to her.
This is a remake of a book I made almost exactly two years ago. That was the 11th book I ever made and this one is the 50th (!) I asked K.A. Applegate to sign the book while it was still in sheets, so I only had one chance to get it right.
🐅 Animorphs 20-22 was the first serialized arc in the 90s book series.
🐅 The heroes recruit a new kid to their guerilla team and grant him morphing powers, only for his selfish and sociopathic tendencies to jeopardize their fight against the alien invasion.
🐅 Young readers were challenged by this subversion of the "new kid" trope and the moral dilemma that developed. Do they kill a fellow teammate? How else can they neutralize him?
🐅 ALSO: Can these middle schoolers crash the G7 Summit and save Boris Yeltsin, Bill Clinton, and other heads of state from infestation?
Foil Quill on Verona bookcloth, with iridescent calligraphy ink edges. I wanted to give this trilogy the special edition it deserves.
Hey, so the author of Animorphs fully approves you downloading her books for free.
I’m here to give you a link to those books that you may have read some of in childhood, but didn’t realize were building to an antigovernment antimilitary anticapitalist stance.... anywhere here’s the books. They won’t radicalize you. They’re just fucking books. You take from them whatever the fuck you take from them. But I wouldn’t be lying saying that these are the books that set me on the path to where I am now.
Love seeing posts about Animorphs on here simply bc I think KA Applegate deserves the praise. Met her once, she’s a very sweet person.
Picture me, age 10/11. I am abnormally tall. I am very blond. I most definitely have braces and no volume control. I walk up to this acclaimed author at a book signing and immediately start talking about my Warrior Cats fan fiction. My mother instinctively tries to drag me away.
And KA Applegate not only seems genuinely interested, but tells me to keep writing. And for the next two years every time I had writers block I would just go “Katherine Applegate told you to keep writing!” and promptly scribble out the most horrendous stuff known to man.
Hello Animorphs tumblr! I have a question. I’m on book 6 of the main series, when should I start reading the spinoffs? Do they fit in chronologically like the Percy Jackson spinoffs or can I wait until I finish the main series? Do I even *have* to read them?
I'm not saying Remnants was a great series but do you guys remember that bit where they're encountering the tech of the Aliens With No Visible Skin and the aliens were like "okay, diplomacy would be a lot easier if we were more similar" so they kidnap a teenager and peel all his skin off and give him transparent skin and then he's just a guy that looks skinless for the rest of the series and it definitely does not help diplomacy
Okay, so... I was in this thrift store. I was browsing the used books sections. And something caught my attention because the author's name on the spine was "Katherine Applegate". It was book #2 of the "Making Waves" series, a YA romance book series.
And I was like... is it the same Katherine Applegate? K.A. Applegate?? THAT one???
I read the copyright page. It was dedicated to Michael. Yep, it's her all right.
I loved Animorphs as a kid. I haven't read every book by the same author(s), but I least had an awareness of them. We've all heard of Ever World, and Remnants, and The One and Only Ivan. I even vaguely heard something about some pre-animorphs book about basketball.
I NEVER heard of Making Waves. It's a series with at least 11 books that's APPARENTLY been around since 2001? Has anyone heard of this?? Was it dropped into the past via time travel??
Saw fucking. Animorphs figures in a used figurine store in Tokyo today?? That series had merch?? Also it was under the transformers brand for some reason I think? My childhood self is baffled
I seriously believe we became the bad timeline as soon as Harry Potter became more popular than Animorphs. Animorphs is objectively better in every way and the author isn’t a terf dick faced infected pussyzit.
Reblog if you agree K.A. Applegate deserves the world and there should be an animorphs universal section instead of dicknballs alley.
