Trolls and Smurfs movies comparison (plus with other movies on the side)

- In the first movie, it was basically more like the same old plot as the rest of the Smurfs episodes. All about nothing but villains capturing them with cages, planning to eat and the main heroes just go after to save them. But unlike the Smurfs, Trolls own Gargamel is a one time character and will never come back after being eaten alive. But also with Bridget’s subplot being mostly likely a Cinderella story.

- In the second movie, it was kinda like Smurfs Lost Village with the whole plot of founding out that they're other kinds of their race. The male Smurfs and Smurfette found out that their other Smurfs who are girls but with no backstories of why they're separated whatsoever. While Poppy found that there are other kinds of trolls but with different taste of music outside of pop (their main kind). But unlike the Smurfs, they do have a backstory of why these trolls tribes are separated for. Plus Barb's villain plot was more likely Thanos's plot from the Infinity War.

- In the third movie, it was kinda like both of half of The Smurfs 2 and Lost Village again plus with Uglydolls.

For The Smurfs 2, both involved dealing with families issues, the main female protagonists gets sisters of their own and the main villains stealing the creatures essences along with another rescue mission and have villainous twins. Except in The Smurfs 2, they handle it pretty poorly done since Patrick and his stepfather are the poor man version of Branch and John Dory (if they were actual father and son) and Vexy and Hackus are the lamer villain version of Velvet and Veneer (if their beta Bergen designs were kept in the officials) but while Smurfette and Vexy are kinda like the original Poppy and Viva (which both of their dynamics are alright and equally the same to me).

It’s also like Lost Village again where they discovered that there is another lost village of Trolls but this time actual lost Pop trolls living in a golf course with another backstory that made King Peppy look even worse than World Tour. Finally it’s also like Uglydolls where the main villains are the pretty dolls and the main heroes are the cute little creatures likes based off on ugly creatures and both movies are just based off on toys.

As for Trolls 4, if I get my prediction right for the Smurfs comparison. I say it would either be like “Dances with the Smurfs” (from a South Park episode) where it’s a Veneer redemption arc and Velvet’s revenge arc. Even though that episode was mainly an Avatar parody. Or in case, it’ll just be more like of whatever the next Smurfs movie plot gonna be like in 2025 (since I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s just another payback on the Smurfs again after the rivalry between World Tour and Lost Village and because of James Cordon).

So, I made this playlist for Cedric on Spotify and I came here to talk about it. And believe me- I have A LOT to say. No one asked, but I can't keep this to myself.

I'm autistic, so I think that explains for itself (i'm hyperfocused). I made this playlist 100% based on the character trying to keep it very close to canon, I tried to capture the Disney feeling, the vibes, his personality, through the lyrics and instrumentals of the songs.

Rewatching Sofia The First, I felt a lot of nostalgia of childhood and old Disney princess movies, so I really wanted to capture that feeling, because otherwise the playlist wouldn't make sense, it wouldn't be Cedric. Furthermore, Cedric is a sorcerer and visually speaking I see that he fits slightly into the whimsigoth aesthetic, which would be themes related to the moon and stars, magic, witchcraft. That alone suits him, but added to that, I feel like he has this similar vibe to Merlin from Sword In The Stone, for example. So I think with Cedric, the stars and magic aesthetic suits him well, but not in a 90s girls way like whimsical/whimsigoth does. In this case, it would be something more magical, more nostalgic, like a wizard character straight out of a book, which directly goes back to Disney.

For the Disney villain vibe (something that would be a middle ground between Gargamel (I know he's not from Disney) and Merlin), I have his songs like Cedric The Great and My Evil Dreams, but also Poor Unfortunate Souls (Ursula's theme), Higitus Figitus (Merlin's theme), How Could I Refuse (Preminger's theme). I also have some instrumental songs, such as Let Me Tell You A Story from Russell Shaw and La Valse De Renard, which capture the feeling of that clumsy and nervous sorcerer, who's always moody and busy with everything at once, planning. You know what I'm talking about, do not pretend you don't.

And not just as a villain, but as a Disney character on his own- I feel like Sofia The First does a great job of paying homage to the old films and capturing that same feeling, so I see STF as not just a cartoon 'produced' by Disney (like The Owl House for example) but like one of those princess movies, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty. So I added stuff that could give me this feeling and still stay in character for him, like Disney songs, for example:

You know, not all the songs in that list are exactly from Disney, but that doesn't means they don't give the same feeling. And not only that- they feel nostalgic (and emotional, if I may say)

But I don't want to divide these songs in boxes, saying stuff like "this one is for the disney theme" "this one has lyrics that match his character" "this one fits his aesthetic"- some songs are there for more than just one reason, and I like to see it as a set, after all they are all on the same playlist. These songs fit the Disney Character vibes, but some also fit the magic aesthetic stuff, so it's all mixed. I prefer to see it that way

For this magical vibe, I have one of my favorite singers, Aurora Aksnes. She has an album called The Gods We Can Touch and just half of it has this vibe, not just in the looks of the album but also in the instrumentals, melodies and lyrics, so I couldn't help but include some of her songs. And I find it ironic that most of her songs that I chose have lyrics that suit him.

Like the case of the song "Potion For Love", which narrates a situation of romantic frustration, and both the lyrics and the title remind me of Cedric's situation with Sascha in the episode Enchanted Feast, and what I understand from that title is that there is no solution to love, there is no magic potion that can solve this problem. I love being a nerd

Other songs of hers that also suit him a lot are the case of Midas Touch, which I already mentioned here on Tumblr, where she narrates the situation of a reckless king in love (King Midas) who is desperate for Aurora's love, as if he depended on it, but she can't love him back because he "turns everything he touches to stone", and she can't accept this role, even though he's begging her to do so (it reminds us a lot of a situation, doesn't it?) (it could be either a y/n x Cedric situation or the events in The Day Of The Sorcerers, but in that case I prefer to ignore the romantic phrases in the song and turn it into something platonic, otherwise it will be really weird).

You Keep Me Crawling has lyrics open to interpretation, as it can talk about both religion and an abusive relationship, but it also fits the case of a wicked dictator, which the narrator still has hopes of them having mercy and deep down still being a good person, just like the case of Cedric and Sofia in The Day Of The Sorcerers.

Conflict Of The Mind talks about family issues/family fights, that despite everything, they still love eachother. Aurora wrote this song for her sister and it reminds me of Cedric and Cordelia.

A Dangerous Thing talks about a two sided person, but that Aurora knew from the first moment that this person was dangerous, and it's just getting worse and worse, to the point she reminds herself that there is no love in the world anyway, her good heart always forgets this. WHO SHOUTED SOFIA AFTER READING THIS?

To Be Loved, just read some of the lyrics: "I tell myself I have to build defenses / 'Cause once you are in love, you are defenseless / Everything was easy when it meant less [...] / Nobody knows me, nobody knows me / I'm never lonely / Until someone holds me / And let's go, just to show me / How it's like to be loved [...] / Cause nobody shows me / Nobody shows me / How is like to be loved"

The Innocent, I won't explain myself, I'll just put a part of the lyrics here: "Danger in the boy that would lose control / When everyone thought he had a heart of gold / I remember how he used to play / He'd let me win if I let him stay / He left without a single trace / I don't know why he said goodbye... to love / You would never let me in to your heart"

Exist For Love is for... fanfic purposes. And because it's the opposite song of Potion For Love. And in the MV she gets out of a shell like a mermaid/Aphrodite. Cedric x Mermaid reader, why not if he was a sea monster once (and this song is about being all lovey dovey with someone, it fits him when he was in love with Sascha, poor thing). And this album has those magical vibes, I already spoke about it before

The other Aurora's songs are there just because of the vibes. BECASE I WANT THEM TO BE *jk*

There's also Million Dollar Man by Lana Del Rey where she's in love by that villain guy and she sings "I don't know how you convince them, and get them, babe / I don't know what you do, it's unbelievable / And I don't know how you get over, get over / Someone as dangerous, tainted and flawed as you" and you know. It's a Lana Del Rey song. He is one of the man written by LDR I just know that he is. Salvatore is there too 👀

AND QUEEN OF DISASTED BECAUSE SHE SINGS "you're the king and baby i'm the queen of disaster"

Some directions so you can understand and use the playlist a little better:

The songs that suit him because of the lyrics are the ones at the top (a large part of the playlist), even though there are still a few that were chosen just for the vibes mixed in there. From "What Is A Youth" onwards, there are the songs that I listen to when writing and drawing things related to him, these are the instrumental songs and Disney songs, and further down are the podcasts that are uploaded by users in the app, because the owners of these songs didn't wanted to publish them on the platform.

If you want songs that match the situations he experienced, listen to the top of the playlist. If you want to daydream and feel like you're in Enchancia, or better said, in a Cedric x Y/N fanfic, I mean, in a Disney movie, listen to "What Is a Youth" and below. Of course, you don't need to listen to everything in order, and you can mix it up, like I usually do. A Disney vibes song, a magical vibes song, a song that suits him, just like a cake recipe. I put a lot of effort into it and it's too good to be kept hidden. I listen to it almost everyday lmao (if not everyday)

1 being the most intricate and detailed with a shitton of steps.

10 being that they most likely don't know what skincare means

Vanity smurf - I think we can all agree that Vanity prolly has like a 30 step skin care routine he HAS to do every morning to make him look 'beautiful'

Brainy Smurf - I like to think Brainy has some care about skincare (for y'know health and everything) but I like to think the proper reason to it is because of Papa smurf. I like to think that papa smurf offhandly said something about skincare, and idk talked about some products and Brainy had been hyperfixating on it ever since and use ALL the products as Papa smurf said

Willow smurf - while we don't know her age. I think its really funny that if she WAS papa smurf's age, she just has perfect and flawless skin. and whenever someone asks she just winks at them and says "moisterise is the go to" (but in reality has like a 10 step skin routine)

king smurf (from the comics) - he just gives me those vibes y'know? he likes to feel like a king.

smurfette - I feel like she has a pretty simple routine. A mixture of, Maybe not as much as vanity, but definitly more than like 4 steps

Papa Smurf - follows his own advice of skincare. simple and good enough to keep the face healthy and clear!

farmer smurf - here me out. I like to think he cares for 'skincare' but in a 'natural, rub your face in the dirt typa way' which he does daily

Grouchy smurf - would say some shit like "I hate skincare" but also still has one. but is very basic.

hefty and handy - I feel like they would AT LEAST wash their face but other than that. its non existent

My AU!

So I'm working on and still developing this Smurfs AU. It doesn't have a name just yet, but let me explain it just a little :)

AU under the cut, this gets pretty long

So in this universe, Smurfs are averaging around 3-4 feet in height, and contain similar features to satyrs (half goat half man) and fauns (half deer half man, to my understanding) save for the fact that they have paws, not hooves

Example: Lettie (Smurfette)

• They might be seen riding deer, wolves, or moose (Except for Gutsy who, unsurprisingly, decided to ride a bear)

• There are Natural Sorcerers and Learned Sorcerers (often just being referred to as Sorcerers, as this is the norm. Natural Sorcerers are a little less common)

- Papa and Lettie are both Naturals

- Brainy is Learned (and rather jealous of Lettie but he keeps it as subtle as he can)

- Despite being a Natural, Lettie is still being taught by Papa how to control and manage her power. Since she is Manmade, and was created by a not-so-good Sorcerer, her magic can be a little unpredictable and risky

• Lettie's backstory is different!

- In the Canon Universe, she was created by Gargamel as an adult to lure in the males

- In my universe, she was created by Gargamel as a pup (like twelve-ish), to get adopted into the village, and using a spell that linked her soul to his, Gargamel could see through her eyes, seeing everything she saw, and hearing everything she heard. He did this to get information about where the village was, what kinds of defenses they had, what magic they had access to, ect.

- When pup!Lettie started having nightmares fuelled by guilt, she woke Papa up one night and confessed that she had been created by Gargamel, and explained everything. That's when Papa used a spell to break the link between Lettie and Gargamel, setting her free and giving her independence.

- Instead of being created from clay, she was molded from the shadows, and can still morph into this shadow beast with fangs and horns. This form of hers only ever comes out through genuine anger or fear though, and is rarely seen since she tends to be very happy and calm.

- Since they're both being taught by Papa, and thus spend a lot of time together, she and Brainy act the most like siblings

• Having grown up with the other Smurfs, many of them treat her like a sister, rather than a love interest

• Those from Smurf Village (the mens village) tend to dress in blues, purples, and whites and follow a general aesthetic that closely resembles how humans in the nearby kingdom dress. (Lettie, having also grown up in this village, follows this and tends to dress like the men)

• Those from The Grove (the womens village) dress more in non-restrictive, tough clothing that can handle a lot of wear. They tend to dress more like warriors, ready for anything.

• Though after the two villages came in contact and started mingling, these two fashions mixed and now it's not uncommon to see Smurfs from The Grove to sometimes dress like the Smurfs from Smurf Village, and vice versa.

• There are plenty other villages out there (ex. Indigo Creek, where my oc Lobelia is from) that Smurf Village and The Grove just lost contact with, and that's why they thought they were the only ones for a while. These other villages are on the other side of the kingdom and forest, and no body knows how they lost contact with Smurf Village and The Grove.

Gargamel Lore

(I accidentally pulled an Ice King with this one, I'm not even gonna lie)

100 years ago, he was a kind and normal man, with a wife he loved dearly. He was practicing to become a sorcerer to work for the King, to give himself and his wife a good life. Unfortunately, his wife fell ill, and no amount of medicine or magic was helping, so desperately, he turned to creatures of the forest for help.

This is where the Smurfs come in. These were smurfs, not from Smurf Village, but from a different village on the other side of the kingdom. When even they tried and failed to help her, and she passed, that's when something in Gargamel changed. He blamed the death of his wife on the smurfs, claiming they didn't try enough.

Desperate to bring her back, he dabbled in forbidden magic that started to consume him, change his heart, and make him evil. It changed him so much, he eventually forgot why he was searching for power to begin with, forgot about his wife, and forgot why he hated the Smurfs. All he knew was that he did hate them, and would stop at nothing to destroy them.

He moved to the other side of the kingdom, where Smurf Village is, and that's when his obsession with them started.

The kind spirit of his wife may or may not still roam the forest, peacefully

Aster TV Tropes

Warning, this tropes will contain spoilers for the future fanfic adaptation of The Cuphead Show done by @akluthor1998, @nataliepthatsme and myself. Please read with care and enjoy.

A young Aurora Sprigon and Kaichi’s potential girlfriend. Shockingly, the Devil originally created her to spy on the Dreamstones and to contain any information he could use against them or to lure them into a trap. Unfortunately for the Devil, Aster has a heart unlike the rest of his creations and she eventually turns against him and defects to the heroes as their closest friend.

Action Girl: While nowhere near the extant of any of the Dreamstones, Asteria does developed some Take a Level in Hardcore by using her magic against the baddies when push comes to shove.

Actually Pretty: She visibly smiled and muffled a giggle when Henchman promptly mentioned “Head!” when the Devil referred Cuphead as “that cup”, while responding in mild annoyance, “Thank you, Henchman!”

Adorable Evil Minion: Averted on the evil part since she’s more reluctant and has more morals than the Devil had let on, but Aster is still really cute.

All-Loving Hero:

Beauty Equals Goodness: By a Sprigon’s standards, she’s as purely good as she’s lovely.

Beauty is Never Tarnished: While the Devil’s twisted demonstration of Ms. Chalice turning into a pile of dust was unnecessarily graphic as Henchman would put it mildly, how Aster was erased was more tamed but more heartbreaking as she is turned into glass and slowly shatters into oblivion… in a devastated Kaichi’s no less, while still retaining her cuteness.

Because You Were Nice to Me:

Becoming the Mask: She truly came to enjoy the company of Kaichi, the five humans and the Cups, though she was still the Devil’s minion at the time before her Heel-Face Turn.

Beware the Nice One:

Blue is Heroic: She has Innocent Blue Eyes. The tips of her wing as well as her hair scrunchie ribbon are dark blue. Even her scarf is icy blue and she is among the good guys.

Concerning mushrooms, she certainly takes more after Katie.

She really doesn’t like anything overly spicy.

She can agree that pineapple pizza’s too weird.

Does This Remind You of Anything?: With his constant threats of unmaking Aster should she fail or defy him to the point of frightening her into submission, the Devil’s relationship with her screams Abusive Parents or legal guardian bullying and threatening the abused child to stay silent so they can easily elude suspicion of the authorities and social services.

Easily Forgiven: No one bare any grudges when she told them that the Devil made her and she was more reluctant than willing to go along with his schemes of using her as a spy. They also sympathised the fact that the Devil was cruel enough to threaten to unmake her should she either fail, question or even dare so defy him with the snap of his fingers.

Embarrassing Nickname: Implied. Her “sister”, Cyra calls her “cotton candy” based on the colour of her hair on certain occasions and visibly unamused by it,

Even the Loving Hero Has Hated Ones: As sweet as she is, even Aster can’t stand King Dice and Anubis coming onto Lexie and Natty. And the disdain also extends to the Devil, not just because of personal grudges but for all the times he tries to come in between Katie and Validor.

Aster was inspired by Smurfette from The Smurfs, thus the Devil being Aster’s Gargamel.

She was also inspired by the character, NiGHTS from the game, NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams. They are both characters associated with the night as well as stars, have pink and purple colours, have blue eyes and were created by the main antagonists, only to betray them and defect to the side of good for personal and very good reasons.

She might also have a bit of inspiration from Cynder from The Legend of Spyro Trilogy as they are both used by both the Big Bad against their will.

Extreme Doormat: She started out as this under the Devil’s command, reluctantly going along with his schemes to manipulate and lure the Dreamstones and Cup Brothers into his trap and easily submits by the threats of him erasing her out of existence as he easily had created her.

In some ways, Aster and Ms. Chalice are somewhat alike but still different from one another. They are both forced to betray their friends while the Devil blackmails and threatens them. Chalice. an orphan using her talents to charm the people into giving her free stuff to survive and she rashly made a deal with the Devil to give her the ability to switch between her ghost and living forms at will in return of a favour at a later date. While Aster was created by the Devil to be his spy.

Aster and Henchman are both the Token Good Teammate, are very nice in general, purple and display some Everyone Has Some Standards, however, while Henchman is completely loyal to the Devil, Aster pulls a Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal when the Devil pushed her to betray the Dreamstones and the Cup Brothers too far by constantly threatening to unmake her should she either fail or question him.

To King Dice, the only things close to what Aster can relate to is that they’re both associated with the colour purple and they both work for the Devil. But while Dice is loyal to the Devil and is a sleazy Smug Snake about it, Aster is a Nice Girl and is more reluctant and regretful of her role, terrified of the Devil’s constant threats to her existence.

Aster means “star” in Greek and her magic specialises in stars and auroras.

Aster is also the name of a flower and her she has some colours of some of her namesakes.

Mistreated-Induced Betrayal: Part of the motivation for her Heel-Face and Defection for Love. She had put up enough the Devil’s constant threats of erasing her and seeing her only as a tool of discord and deception for the heroes, thus putting her foot down and assisted the girls in rescuing Kaichi.

Ridiculously Cute Critter: Just look at her!

Rose-Haired Sweetie: She has a head full of long, rosy pink hair and she is as sweet as can be.

Ship Tease: With Kaichi. The girls imply that he obviously has a crush on Aster upon seeing him blush, which he hastily denies. Which is to be expected since they technically still kids.

Silk Hiding Steel: While she is cute and feminine, she can be mildly a Girly Girl with a Tomboy Streak as well as Hidden Depths such as she definitely bites the Devil’s hand to escape his grip. She also took a Level in Hardcore while under the Dreamstones’ wings.

Single Woman Seek Good Man: Her obvious attraction to Kaichi since their friendship had bloomed even before her defection.

The Six Ranger: Basically the second Sprigon and fifth Animal Companion.

Sweet Tooth: A shared trait in the Sprigon lore. She could certainly give Kaichi a run for his money.

Tears of Remorse: She had shed these when she remorsefully confessed to the Dreamstones about her backstory and how the Devil captured Kaichi. She also explains the Devil had made her and threatened to unmake her if she doesn’t do what he says. Luckily, the girls were more sympathetic and understanding.

Tender Tears: She can be just as emotional when upset.

Those Two Guys: She is rather close to Kaichi since they’re both only known Sprigons in existence.

Tomboyish Ponytail: Subverted. She wears her mane in a low ponytail and she’s a Girly Girl with a Tomboy Streak.

Red velvet cookies.

She also enjoys strawberries.

Macarons, especially the pink ones.

True Blue Femininity: Her eyes, wing tips and accessories are blue and she is a Girly Girl.

Undying Loyalty: Despite her time as the Devil’s spy, Aster has grown to care deeply the Dreamstones and their friends, most especially Kaichi, which motivated her to have the courage to stand up to the Devil and join the heroes.

oh, for new followers who are unaware of this ridiculous character game!!!

i’m always open to asks suggesting obscure, silly, interesting fictional characters to fall in love with, especially if they’re anecdotally my type. that ranges from cartoonishly evil villains (especially doctors and scientists) with distinctive voices, to snarky fat guys who everyone hates;;;; there’s no way to quantify it, but people who’ve known me long enough will just look at a character and go. ah yes. they’ll occupy Star’s mind for a month or two 🙈💖 here’s a bingo card for a beloved character (King Candy) that gives a good overview - i think everyone should make one for themselves, based on their unique taste 😉

this started as a joke between pals, and then expanded because a few people accidentally triggered honest-to-God hyperfixations in me. i believe the catalyst was an anon known only as The Comfortable Doug Prophet, who jokingly suggested Comfortable Doug from Centaurworld as being ‘my kind of man’. i fought this assignment furiously...only to fall in love a few months later 😭😭

other successful assignments have recently included Gargamel, MODOK, and Larry Laffer...and shout-out to the twenty or so people who ran to me screaming, ‘oh you will be down SO BAD for ‘Big’ Jack Horner!’...who were horribly correct 😖 as a rule of thumb - the more humiliating the character is to enjoy (e.g., Augustus St. Cloud, Austin Powers, etc.), the worse the fixation will be 😂 i am nothing if not a connoisseur of embarrassing men!!

i highly recommend playing this game with your pals - it’s very fun, you get the chance to embarrass your friends, and potentially cause a whole wave of good feelings for them or yourself 🥰

Tragically Skeleton King wasn't stopped. He began his preperation to conquer Shuggazoom with the SRMTHF gathering all their allies to stop him once & for all. But a bigger threat happened before that final battle could commence: The Show was canceled.

The biggest threat of them all. One that has befallen many an ongoing plot line. For all we know Gargamel is still hunting those poor Smurfs!

Smurf stories rated by how dark and/or fucked up they are when you think about it (Part 1)

only in the main line comics tho

Les Schtroumpfs noirs (The Black Smurfs/The Purple Smurfs) : 5/5

Imagine if you will: you're a smurf who lived a very easy peasy life so far; today you and the people in your village go to work, and your buddy ends up going alone a bit further away. When he comes back, he's... different. His skin is not blue anymore, he can't talk, doesn't recognize anyone, and he seems mean, almost evil. Your leader is immediately worried, and tells you that it's not the first time he sees this happens, and it's not good. Then you find out that by a bite, that... thing will turn you like him. Your leader knows there is an antidote, but can't remember it. As he tries many things, more and more people in your village get turned and join the group of infected. Finally, he finds the remedy, by pure luck, and when you go back to the village to prepare the remedy, you can notice that there's only ten of you left. Ten on almost a hundred. The remedy is prepared, and it works, but you are easily overwhelmed by the number of infected. You're 9, then 8, then 7, then 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, ... you get bitten, and as you turn, you see your leader alone, surrounded from every corners by the things you're about to become a part of. The reader sees Papa Smurf transform, and everything seems lost... until, by pure luck again, an explosion allows the remedy to fall on everyone in the village, saving the day.

So anyway the first smurf adventure is a zombie apocalypse that by all means ends bad, but luckily kid comic+first story armor makes it so that all the characters are saved. Zombie apocalypse scenario already gets points because they're very dark in nature, but here it's made even darker by the facts that 1) it reaches the worst outcome before luck ex machina, 2) in universe it's supposed to be the first time the smurfs deal with a very dangerous and distressing situation that affects them directly. actually it's the first time they have to deal with something bad happening to them. quite the first time.

Le Schtroumpf Volant (The Flying Smurf): 0/5

There isn't much plot in this one; a smurf wants to fly, and he tries different techniques. It's closer to a comedy short than an actual story, so there isn't really something dark or fucked up in it.

Le voleur de Schtroumpfs (The Smurfnapper): 3/5

In this story, Gargamel is introduced! While he is already a goofy villain, Gargamel is very much a big threat in this. Most of the story is spent seeing the smurfs trying to save one of them, who's been caught and will be put in snake venom at dawn (to be melted for a potion Gargamel needs to do in order to change metals in gold). Every time they're about to free the poor smurf, Gargamel comes back and so everyone has to quickly hide. Eventually, dawn comes, and Gargamel is about to put the smurf in the mixture when all the smurfs attack at once and flee.

Points for potion that asks you to kill a sentient living being to get rich, almost smurf melting, and for the characters, first time meeting Gargamel which for them must have been particularly distressing.

Le Schtroumpfissime (King Smurf): 2/5

A smurf makes false promises to get elected, then once in power he does nothing of it and becomes a dictator. Points for dictatorship and how sad it is that a 60s comic still hits with current politics.

Schtroumpfonnie en ut (Smurphony in C): 5/5 oh my god

Alright alright so. In this shirt story, the smurfs want to play a symphony. But one of them plays incredibly bad, so they kick him out of the band. The smurf goes in the forest to lament, and Gargamel hears him. He disguises himself as a fsiry and gives to the smurf a musical instrument that he says will always sound good. But it was a trap, as the instrument actually puts people who hear it in a deep sleep. The smurf learns the truth from Gargamel who followed him back to the village, and a chase follows. The smurf escapes, try different ways to wake up the others, with no success. He then decides to go to Gargamel's house to find an antidote. At one point Gargamel is in a position where if the smurf played the instrument, he'll get rid of him forever( deep sleep+falling from very high, you can guess what would happen), but he decides against it after remembering what Papa Smurf taught them. So the smurf finally gets to read about the instrument, and learns that no remedy has been found. Now sad and all alone after being tricked into causing the death eternal sleep of everyone in his village, the smurf lines them up, and takes out his trumpet to play them goodbye. But his first note is so off that it could wake up a dead, and guess what happens (btw it's literally the saying used in the story, wikipedia may say coma but the text says death). And so the smurf found the remedy, playing his music, and wakes up everyone. All is well that ends well, the smurfs play the symphony, the smurf included. Since he plays trumpet and plays off with any instruments he uses, we can easily guess it's Musician Smurf. So if you like his character and didn't know it, that's his backstory, putting everyone into a magical coma and finding the remedy by accident after he resigned himself to be alone forever.

Do I need to explain the rating.

I will stop on this one, because next story is the smurfette and i dont trust myself in keeping it short
