Hello! It’s me! And I’m back on my crossover bs again

A few years ago I had an idea for a Kirby demon slayer crossover but at the time my ideas for Meta Knight weren’t fully fleshed out. You can read some more of my ideas in the read more!

So originally my idea was that Kirby was an extremely talented young urchin that Meta Knight picked up in a town or a forest somewhere. Meta is the last remaining member of the Star Estate, a group of talents swordsman in the Corps that was nearly completely wiped out within the last century. Meta Knight, finding Kirby, saw not only extreme power and raw potential, but also a way to revive the Star Estate through a young talent that may grow up to be even stronger than him.

This inevitably happens, but happens much sooner than Meta expects, when Kirby is only 10 years old. Kirby learns the Breathing Style of the stars that Meta teaches him, but also has a terrifying talent for mimicry, and is able to temporarily copy any Breathing Style that he witnesses. Having surpassed Meta Knight in power and rank, Kirby takes Meta Knight’s official seat among the Hashira. That said, Kirby doesn’t have much of a mind for the more tactical and official side of the Corps’s duties, so Meta tends to take over for him during meetings.

Reactions to Kirby’s presence are mixed. Many of the Hashira bear some amount ill will against Meta, believing that Meta took in a child and trained him just to revive the seat of the Stars. They dislike that a child is fighting their battles for them, but have to begrudgingly acknowledge Kirby’s sheer strength. This results in a lot of people being rather surprised at just how tenderly Meta Knight treats his little ward, buying him little gifts and souvenirs wherever they go and making sure that he is healthy and safe.

Similarly to Urokodaki, Meta wears a mask to conceal his face, since he has been told that his face is too kind or too soft for his profession. He has offered to make Kirby one as well, but a mask would not do much to hide Kirby’s height and age anyways. Meta also carries two swords but only uses one— the second one is one of Kirby’s spares, just in case Kirby accidentally forgets or loses his own. (This happened about three times before Meta Knight started carrying the spare around.)

In this au, Dedede is a prefectural governor who continued ruling over his land after the daimyo-ruled han were abolished for prefectures. He comes from a long line of aristocracy, and is aware of demons wandering around at night but doesn’t get involved much with the demon slaying side of things. Meta is an old friend of his, and keeps him updated on recent local happenings with the demons.

How goes the fma x albedo fic? I hope that doesn't sound pushy, I'm genuinely curious. And in that vein, do you have any little drabbles you may have written or want to write? Currently not working on any fics, since I just came out of 10 weeks of summer research where my days began at 8 am and ended at 9 pm for probably less than minimum wage hahaha (doing research is a Bit Sad but I get a whole month to relax before classes start again so thank goodness for that)

Finally working on Homuncular Nature again!! I definitely do have a lot of plans and cool scenes playing out in my head for the next chapter, it’ll just come down to when I actually put pen to paper (or stylus to iPad) to actually organize and write them all. The road block I think is that I have seen neither Albedo nor fmab very recently and all my concrete ideas are for around the 30 episode mark for fmab, the turning point with the first actual confrontation against father and the subsequent Briggs arc.

Rewriting Ten Thousand Maple Leaves! A lot of people have been very kind but I think I missed the mark with my first chapter to be honest. My writing has gotten a lot wordier and less succinct, which feels like I’m filling a chapter more with fluff and unnecessary description than actual content. I think I also dislike how I characterized Sanemi and how quickly Kazuha was willing to agree with things. Writing both of them is kind of a difficult challenge tbh! I think in rewriting it I want to give back to Kazuha more of his vagrant role in the games, where he is avoiding the law for reasons somewhat out of his control.

Ebisu siblings content! I think it might be fun to try having them interact with more of the canon characters in kny but I also think there’s some value in a complete sort of outsider point of view when inserting characters into a piece of media. I feel like whenever I see self inserts I see a lot of ocs making themselves indispensable and making meaningful relationships with existing characters that way and that’s totally valid! That’s a lot of what I do for crossovers as well. I think when it comes to my own ocs though, I want them to feel grounded in some form and the reality of it is that none of the characters I make based on myself or real people are that impressive or remarkable. But I also think there’s a lot of value in showing smaller scale things outside of the main interactions and plot to show that even though we aren’t remarkable, we still have our own meaningful connections and ideologies and stories :) in the end the Ebisu siblings are a lot more visual though so I may just continue making doodles and art without writing anything haha

Kirby & Meta Knight ageswap AU: I was mostly doing this on my ask-gikabi sideblog in short form comics, but I lost sight of what I wanted to do after making the discord and starting to interact with some of the people who followed it. I think a lot of people are inspired and have their own very cool ideas that I wanted to take into account but then eventually it was no longer my story or the story I wanted to tell, which is why I’m thinking of restarting it as a fic. This one is still in very rough idea stage though, I have honestly no clue how I’m even going to begin organizing it

Yanfei ace attorney crossover: this one’s just pure crack lmao I would definitely write it as crack taken seriously but I think this is fun to explore just for small ideas that pop up every now and then, i.e. yanfei is semi-immortal because she’s half adeptus so it would be Really Funny to me if she showed up in dgs era, got her attorney’s license, went into hiding after it became obvious that she wasn’t aging, and then re-emerged after rebranding herself as her own daughter or granddaughter. That, and I have a lot of fun imagining someone as pragmatic as yanfei trying to get through the sheer chaos of aa despite being otherworldly

Continuing winter weather advisory: I got to a really good point in that fic and was rereading it today like,,, damn I wrote that? And it would be fun to see where I planned on going with it so I do want to also try working on that a bit if I can

Kazuha & Kunikuzushi role swap au: this is something I posted about a Long While ago but it’s an idea I continue to be fascinated with :) I especially enjoy how these two characters could have had completely different roles and personalities depending on how their pasts happened (with wanderer being so nice and turning so bitter and kazuha growing up so spoiled (for lack of a better word) and turning out so weary and yet kind

Link click and mha crossover: this one is honestly just a very recent idea but I think it would be fun to make a drabble on how lightime photo studio would be able to continue operating even in another world and the trouble they might get into for illegal quirk usage and what using cheng xiaoshi’s powers in a world where being able to tell the future is canonically possible would entail

I have!! So many ideas!! And not enough time or motivation to actually write any of them most of the time :’)

Hello there!! Regarding the last ask about your Kirby in KNY and MHA (I'm not the same person btw), I remembered your Au where Kirby was in the Harry Potter universe, and I find myself asking you how you came with the idea, and if you will bring it back in the future!

Also, still regarding with the Au, what is Kirby's relationship with the other characters in the HP universe?

So I came up with the idea at the time because I was and still am really into crossovers! You often find that there are fandoms that are good worlds for crossover fodder, such as Harry Potter or Hero Aca! It’s not just that the fandoms are large, but also the fact that their worldbuilding is robust enough that adding a character allows them to mesh with the world seamlessly, while being loose enough that you can play with concepts that aren’t explored in canon. Crossovers are a fascinating character study of how a character can still remain a character removed from their setting, their comfort zone, and sometimes removed from their key experiences and memories.

One of the really popular crossover niches for example is FMA x Harry Potter, with Edward specifically acting as an alchemy professor. It’s unique within the setting he’s placed in— Ed is a strong-headed character who does not have the disposition of a mentor figure, but has the expertise and ability to teach. Meanwhile, Ed himself is placed in a situation he has never found himself in, where the intellectual progress of dozens of people possibly his age, older or younger, is now his responsibility. It’s a seamless combination also, since Alchemy is a canonically existing field in Harry Potter. It has all the elements of a well set-up crossover! I’ve seen it executed to varying degrees of success :)

Harry Potter is easy crossover fodder because the world is naturally designed to test people and reveal their secrets. Look no further than the boggart, which takes the form of one’s deepest fear, or legilimency, where you can read into someone’s thoughts, or the pensieve, where you can literally experience someone else’s memories. It could be called poor writing to have so many forced methods to invade someone’s privacy, but the fact that they exist means they can regardless be taken advantage of when writing crossovers.

The standard crossover structure very often keeps the origins of a transmigrated character a secret, and when a character has no connections to the world around them, people get to know that person from the ground up, from the persona they portray to their history and deepest parts of their personality. It’s what makes crossover interactions interesting beyond the shock value; we essentially get to relearn a character from the eyes of a world and characters that have never met the character before.

I don’t know if I’ll ever write anymore Kirby crossovers, to be honest, so I might not bring back the Kirby HP crossover, unfortunately. Kirby is difficult to crossover with other fandoms because their sheer strength makes many problems in other worlds irrelevant. Back when I was writing these, Kirby’s strength was what appealed to me, since having a character who is unshakably happy and powerful is a breath of fresh air after protagonists that go through an existential crisis or two in their journey. Contrary to the popular hero’s journey for most protagonists, Kirby is just very simply Kirby, and continues to remain Kirby through everything :)

Regarding the AU, in this crossover Kirby would at first treat Hogwarts as a safe haven away from the battles against gods that they often have to fight. Maybe they stumble across the world while exploring and happen to land close to Hogwarts, or maybe they accidentally crash land and are stuck there until they can fix their ship or until someone comes to pick them up. In any case, Kirby breaks all rules of logic that people have. They’re too young to attend classes or pass as a student so they wander the halls, with most students theorizing that they’re the child of one the professors. Only their eyes, which sparkle with the light of galaxies behind them, give any clue that they aren’t quite as human as they seem.

Kirby doesn’t see a point in hiding anything about themself because they’ve never had to on any planet they’ve gone to. If people don’t know that Kirby is an alien to this world, then it’s just because they haven’t asked.

I tend to write the golden trio in HP as nosy children who want to solve every mystery, including whatever is going on with Kirby, so I think they’d go through roundabout methods to follow Kirby when they really could have just asked. Otherwise, Kirby is friends with about everyone, though more often than not they’ll disappear off planet for their own responsibilities.

I was playing around with the idea of Kirby acting as a representative for the GSA and being a diplomat accompanied by Meta Knight in later years, so Kirby’s resting place away from battle becomes tainted with the responsibility of being a Knight, but I never got that far :p

Concept for Kirby kny crossover? Fun idea, Most of my hc’s are on the other crossover post though! Was considering mayber Dedede as a good(?) demon that Kirby happened to befriend? Or Meta Knight as a Pillar with the same position so Kirby isn’t missing important information from Pillar meetings, since he’d absolutely sleep through them. Realistically, yes. Kirby is absolutely way too strong for this setting, but it’s interesting to think about how the Copy Ability would translate to other settings. Tell me if you like this and I’ll do more? :D

Idea for kny Meta Knight?

His knight theme is really hard to translate to something Japanese-resembling oh my god

The mask was probably the hardest to change since the mask is what makes Meta Knight Meta Knight mostly, but it would also be really unrealistic for the time period. I chose a fox mask because it has the simplest design and can represent a character being either good or bad (according to google at least) and I think that matches with Meta? Sorta

Some aspects I just didn’t change like the gloves and boots and I figure during this time Japan was modernizing right? So there had to have been some place to get western clothes if Muzan was dressed that snazzily. Meta’s quite rich so he can get himself these expensive imports like,,,, gloves and boots

His cape I turned into an oversized haori hanging off his shoulders, bet it never gets displaced even during battle, what a boss XD

I’m really glad the sword gimmicks exist in kny so I was able to make a somewhat plausible plan for Galaxia? It only works on one side of the blade though :/

Question about the Kirby KNY crossover, does Kirby know more than one breathing technique or is he just really good at one?

The only one he’s really good at is Breath of Stars, which Meta taught him before. His title as User of 100 Breaths comes from him being able to copy a form he’s seen, but he can only do it for a short time after seeing it before he forgets it.

My BNHA HC’s:

Kirby lives with Whispy Woods, because Whipsy is a really consistent staple throughout the franchise and should be shown more appreciation :3

Meta Knight is sa high-ranking hero, and Kirby goes on unofficial patrols with him; Meta Knight forces him to wear armor and a mask in case they run into villains though, so he’s come to be known by the media as Mini-knight even though he’s not a pro-hero yet

Meta Knight’s hero agency is just him and the Meta Knights and a few others like Sailor Dee, a sibling of Bandana Dee

King Dedede is a famous crime ring leader, and insists he’s not a villain, even though he is a criminal. He’s not good at not getting caught, and always has a security detail with him even though he’s strong

King Dedede’s guard most commobly consists of Bandana Dee and Waddle Doo

B. Dee and S. Dee fight often because of their opposing loyalties, even though Meta and Dedede are relatively courteous with each other

As a hero, Meta Knight is expected to apprehend Dedede, but more often than not he just visits and rants to unwind from his stressful life; the two of them bicker a good amount and refuse to admit that they’re friends

Kirby stumbled accidentally into Dedede’s base when he was a child and the guards (Waddle Dee and Doo) fought him to try to get him out but Kirby was just too strong XD

Kirby discovered Meta Knight because Meta went undercover before making his public hero debut

Kirby’s got multiple quirks, including super-strength, floating, and copy ability. Meta tells Kirby to keep copy ability on the down-low as a trump card for the most part.

Meta Knight has 2 quirks, both relating to his cape: his wings, and his dimensional control. He uses neither of them unless it’s an emergency, preferring to fight with his sword

My KNY HC’s:

Kirby is the youngest pillar, beating out Tokitou at age 12; though technically unofficially because Meta Knight takes his place at Pillar meetings (Meta is more responsible, but Kirby is stronger)

Kirby and Meta collectively hold the titles of Star Pillars, because they have their own breathing, different from the Breath of the Sun

The Star Warriors were formed by the people who came up with the Breath of the Stars, and their descendants basically continued the group, creating a chain of inheritance for the Star Pillar position

Meta Knight was the most recent Star Pillar, leading the group, but they went into battle against the Upper Moons

Meta was the sole survivor of this battle, and temporarily retired from the Corps to rest

Meta found Kirby in a forest nearby and they shared the common quality of loving the sky and the stars, so Meta decided to train the child, who turned out to be a prodigy and picked up the entire style in half a year, to Meta’s amazement

When Kirby started going on missions, Meta came partially out of retirement to travel with and oversee his apprentice

When they were put on missions with other demon slayers, they discovered that Kirby, after seeing sword forms once, could use them and derive new skills from them, but usually only temporarily before he forgot the style. Meta started calling this the Copy Ability.

Kirby gained renown and became known as the User of 100 Breaths, and defeated a Moon when he was 12, gaining the Pillar position

He couldn’t quite sit still during the meeting, so Meta Knight came out of retirement to take his place

Kirby’s haori is a bit unconventional because he designed it himself; it has a star on the back. Meta helped him make it and bought the materials; the Star Estate was pretty rich and belonged solely to him now.

That’s about it for both! I might draw some of these but I have several projects going on right now including commissions, KNY pokemon AU, KNY swap au, and normal gikabi, so don’t expect too much (^^;) School is also taking its toll on my time and energy after all

I love your KnY roleswap AU ideas and designs!! Out of curiosity, will you be doing any writing with it?

I’m thinking about it. I would do a comic but can’t do comics very well because I can’t make panels flow very well with how slowly I draw at the moment, but writing is a viable option.

The problem is probably my incompetency at writing? (=v=;) I’m told I don’t write very well, though I don’t think I’m that bad. I really do want to start a story on it, since it’s a lot easier to write out all the ideas and details than it is to draw it.

I do have a document of ideas started though! I might do some writing, though I don’t know if I’ll ever post it. I’ve got like, 2 or 3 fics. :P

I’m on ao3 and ffnet if you wanna find any of my works! Just please please please do not read any of my old works, legit I wrote them in middle school and did not know what I was doing, this warning is for your own safety XD My current fics are a Persona 3/5 crossover where Minato is a sassy ghost and Akira thinks he’s going insane, and a P5/Kirby crossover where Kirby and Meta are humans in the P5 universe and people are pretty confused about them.

TL;DR, I might. I’ll probably write something, but whether or not I post it depends on whether or not I feel like it or it reaches my standards of readability.
