How did Elvis took care of his awesome hair? 🚿🍃
Plus, a quick overview on one of the King's hairdressers and Memphis Mafia man, Larry Geller: How somewhat he was the friend Elvis needed and how Elvis' over-controlling inner circle banned Geller from their surroundings for a while.

I was actually looking if I could find Elvis' haircut name - precisely the type of haircut he had on the '68 Comeback Special and "Charro!" (1968), since I'm a girl and I have zero idea about the names for male haircuts but I just love that haircut he had so much I wanted to talk about it... anyway. But I found an article about Elvis' hair care routine and that sounds very interesting to me, so it might be something you wanna know too.
This is told by Larry Geller, so this means this was Elvis' hair routine starting from mid 60's on, precisely from 1964 to 1967, and possibly also from late 1972 to 1977 *, periods in which Larry was responsible for taking care of the King's hair.
Geller, who will be launching his own line of organic hair products later this year, tested out some of his first custom mixes on Elvis. “I used to go to the health food store and get a benign base shampoo and get some vitamin capsules and pour 99 percent pure aloe vera and other herbs into it, and shake it up,” Geller tells Yahoo Beauty. “That’s what I used on Elvis’ hair. Elvis, you're the best, man. LOL. Just that comment is worth this entire post. It made me laugh. But the article goes on.
Then there was the daily routine. “I shampooed his hair regularly, usually every day. I would massage his scalp for a few minutes, then brush his hair at least 50 or 60 strokes. I was focused on long-term health of his hair, which was so important,” Geller explains. He also used products like vitamin E and jojoba oil to style Elvis’ hair and replace conditioner. Hairspray was used to set it, with Geller alternating multiple brands so that none of them would dry out Elvis’ coif too much. As for its color, Geller dyed Elvis’ hair every two to three weeks with a L’Oreal formula. What did the two men discuss during all that grooming? Religion, philosophy, books, life, and anything else you can think of. “Elvis had everything,” says Geller. “He was an extraordinary human being. He had the greatest eyes, the greatest voice, fans galore. He also had great hair.”

Larry Geller styled Elvis’ hair for: "Roustabout" (1964), Girl Happy (1965), Tickle Me (1965), Harum Scarum (1965), Frankie and Johnny (1966), Paradise, Hawaiian Style (1966), Spinout (1966), Easy Come, Easy Go (1967), Double Trouble (1967), and Clambake (1967). Geller prepared Elvis’ hair for the last time for his funeral in August, 1977.

Now, if you want to understand why there's a pause in Larry's association with Elvis, here it is:
LARRY GELLER QUITS WORKING FOR ELVIS IN 1967: INDIRECTLY CAUSED BY ELVIS' HEAD INJURY POSTPONING THE FILMING FOR 'CLAMBAKE'.
On March 9, 1967, Elvis was staying in him home in Bel Air, Los Angeles, and one incident (Elvis tripped over a TV cord in his bathroom and banged his head against a porcelain bathtub) caused the beginning of the production for the movie "Clambake", for which he was preparing to, to be postponed. Colonel Parker was fuming when he heard about the need for Elvis to take a couple of weeks of resting to recover from the mild concussion he had. It was a critical moment in Elvis' life. By the time the filming begun, Elvis even put up some weight from his normal 170 lb (77 kg) to 200 lb (91 kg) — I said it before, whenever this happened to Elvis' body it was because he was extremely distressed. He was an emotional eater.
Getting back to the accident, Parker even thought Elvis did it on purpose not to fulfill his Hollywood commitment since Presley clearly was not happy about his movies anymore, something Parker somehow blamed it on Elvis' spiritual quest. He pulled some strings to manipulate Elvis to remove Larry Geller from his inner circle by saying to him that all that spiritual thing was getting too much into his head, distracting him from his business obligations. If not enough Parker said to Presley that Larry Geller was brainwashing him because of some personal agenda he must have had in his mind — it's mentioned by someone, somewhere (i'm sorry, I'm not gonna remember where I've read it now) that Geller was planning on using Elvis' money to open a religious study center or something like that).
Basically, Parker thought Larry was a threat because if Elvis decided in throwing his career away, like some say he was by becoming a preacher, Parker would lose his most profitable and only client. Consequently all the religion and spiritual "shit" (as they called) that Larry Geller had put inside the King's head (as they thought), presenting him with many books and having deep conversations for hours with Elvis about several religious and spiritual subjects but not exclusively that, they also talked about meditation and self improvement as a human beings, astrology and so on, all of that was threatening Parker's plans over Elvis.
But Parker didn't make it on his own. Even Priscilla says in her memoir book that Elvis was obsessively reading non-stop and wanting to share his learning with everybody else, but his friends and herself didn't care about none of this self-improvement and religious talk. His inner circle even looked at Presley's spiritual quest as somewhat annoying, including Priscilla. Their thoughts about Larry Geller were something like "Larry changed his mind. Elvis is not spending time with us as he used to." Ugh!
Nobody actually told Larry to leave, tho, and Elvis wouldn't do such thing if he didn't have a good reason to - until this point Larry was a confidant to him, one of the only people he could talk about life and wonder what was God's plan for him, his true life mission, something Elvis would never cease trying to understand. However, Elvis' inner circle and Colonel Parker begun making Geller feel uncomfortable, unwelcome among the group, while they took Elvis' attention back to them, practically forcing Geller to decide to finally leave and go away for good, and he did it. But it was not something definite.
Many things happened in Elvis' life since Larry Geller and him went different ways but by August 1972, tho, Geller got back in contact in Elvis when he attended one of Presley's concerts in Las Vegas, and from then on Larry begins working for Elvis again, till the end of the King's life in 1977.

On the subject of humanformers content, I think my hottest take for the transformers community as a whole (that I can think of) is that I… I really don’t think the fanon long braid hairstyle suits ratchet. I KNOW ITS PRETTY IM SORRY BUT HE JUST DOESNT SEEM LIKE THE TYPE TO BRAID HIS HAIR OR GROW IT LONG TO BEGIN WITH.
Ok so theres two particular cases I wanna talk about with this, cuz I think it’s popular enough that’s it’s spread to pretty much every continuity. First I’d like to make an exception- I’m willing to believe MTMTE ratchet wears his hair long or at least longer than most continuities. I’m also willing to believe, nay, INSIST that drift braids it all pretty like and ratchet lets him. This is the one exception I can think of.
Second of all, I need to address TFP ratchet, considering I’m pretty sure this is where that design came from in the first place, and is certainly where it’s the most popular. Ironically, this is the version of him I can LEAST imagine ever putting in the effort for a braid.
Listen okay, that man is STARVING himself due to lack of energon + being focused on the rest of the team, and is basically never seen not working on something. I guarantee you if he were human he wouldn’t have these luscious, flowing, L’Oreal commercial locks in a nice little French/dutch braid. I know y’all love pretty ratchet but I think we need to accept that he’s horrible at self care and would have rough cropped hair and a scruffy short beard or stubble, that man is having a ROUGH time and he ain’t got time for braids or even brushing long ass hair. Not to mention he doesn’t want it getting caught on anything in his lab or god forbid the battlefield.
I saw some fanart for a different character recently on tiktok that actually looked pretty damn close to what I imagined him like (though still perhaps with a darker skin tone like most of the fanon depictions, but the hair and face are pretty close)

This is all in good fun though, I do adore all the fanart of him with his braid I just can’t imagine him realistically wearing it in a time of war. As always everyone’s entitled to their opinions and hell, I recognize I’m in the minority here 💀 all just to clarify I’m not actually trying to start a hc war, if anyone’s got any other interesting ideas for him lemme know in the replies!

it wouldn’t be fair to write for the greens only, especially since i am a rhaenyra loyalist. so have these daemon general and romantic headcanons.
please keep in mind this is my own interpretation. these headcanons are just that. headcanons. if you don’t like them, just don’t read them and ignore this post.

daemon doesn’t have many hobbies outside of combat and just resting. he enjoys doing nothing, just laying in bed or on the sands of dragonstone or in the grass in the godswood.
he used to get really antsy doing nothing, but after being at war for so long in the stepstones, he’s learned to appreciate the more mundane aspects of life.
one of the many hobbies he picked up unexpectedly was weaving. it was repetitive, and sure, his fingers got sore and his eyes strained. by the end result always looked nice. he was very good with color theory and patterns.
daemon much prefers to eat meat over fruit and vegetables. but one of the few fruits he will eat are sour cherries. he loves sour cherries and will eat them whenever he has the chance. it was also the first thing he ate when he came back from the stepstones.
he also likes raspberries and oftentimes, you will find him teasing you with that flirtatious look of his as he pushes a berry into his mouth. when you think about it, it’s a little weird. but in the moment, it’s very charming.
daemon cares very much about his hair. he puts a lot of effort into it looking amazing. (he would totally be in a l’oreal commercial in the modern day) washing, oils, drying, brushing, braiding his own hair. cutting it signified his rebirth and in a way, it was his way of mourning his new position as the king of the narrow sea. but he had more important things to attend to, namely returning to his brother.
he doesn’t like to admit being vulnerable and caring about others. he’s rather closed off in that way. but he shows it in small ways that only his loved ones would recognize.
very much appreciates a good loaf of bread. and honestly he would do anything for a good loaf.
daemon also likes to swim in his spare time. he finds the sea calming and lets himself get swept away amongst the waves. everything just fades away as he sinks below the water, looking up at the sun as it peers through the crystal clear water.

daemon gives love through quality time. the man is quite busy and has a lot of things to do. so for him to go out of his way to talk to you, spend time with you, means a lot. it means he cares about you to be spending time with you. he’s content with doing nothing while with you or even the two of you doing your own thing in the same room.
he receives love through quality time and words of affirmation. he was always the least favorable son growing up and he was often told this. so he needs your reassurance through words of affirmation. it gives him such a warm feeling in his body when you tell him the smallest things. on top of that, he loves it when you spend time with him. it’s proof that you care for him as much as he cares for you.
daemon’s attachment type is avoidant. he is quite aloof when it comes to connections and can be impulsive. but when the cloud settles, he realizes just how empty he really feels. he’s been aiming to work better on that sense of loneliness that has been gnawing at him for decades.

daemon doesn’t let anyone touch his hair. well, except for you. he will let you touch his hair. play with it, braid it, put it in a ponytail or one of those stylish hairstyles popular in king’s landing. he looks very pretty and he likes it when you call him pretty.
it’s probably not a surprise then that your favorite part of daemon is his hair. you like playing with it and styling it, love how soft it feels, enjoy rubbing oils into his hair so it smells good. you particularly like the floral scented oils to rub into his hair.
daemon’s kisses are surprisingly tender. he doesn’t kiss much. fuck? yes. sex is a common thing he does. but kissing? that is far too intimate for him. so when he kisses you, he savors it. it lasts for a long time and it’s gentle. he hates pulling away, so you’re the one who has to do it instead.
daemon loves your shoulders. there is very little explanation as to why. but he just loves how his hands fit so perfectly on them and giving you a nice massage after a stressful week. he loves peppering kisses on your shoulders as you sit together. and he absolutely loves gently removing your top to reveal your shoulder so he can kiss it.

5/27 candy round-up : fan-meet clues, denying drama rumors and everything else. 💋
happy saturday! it’s time for some treats care of mostly wyb @ chunzhen fan meet. it has really been some time since he did one of these. hopefully, he does more before he gets stuck in filming his new movie. we will be getting a new endorsement from him tomo so that’s one to look forward to!

• The most obvious and probably in your face with today’s event is WYB’s look. Aside from the 🦴 necklace chain peeking from time to time and how his hair brings us back to 2019 WYB. The clothes remind us of that striped top he wore in the l’oreal event where he drew the heart with a mole. It’s also maison kitsune, a brand that ZZ wore in a live event recently too. The glasses for his photoshoot also brings us back to WB night 2020. These things could all mean nothing but to us, it brings back memories. The glasses are particularly sus, cause while i do think it may have something to do with his HK glasses endorsement, i don’t see it on their site as a style he is endorsing currently. It surprised a lot ( if not all ) of the fans cause why is he suddenly 🤓??

2. The Camping CPN is at it again. I don’t usually follow other artists so idk if other mention this too specifically but it’s so interesting how these two decided to pick it up at the same time. Or is this some sort of trend in China too? Either way, during the fan meet he said that he does Camp during his breaks. Plus he mentioned that he did go camping somewhere close to the beach.
He also said something that confused people, when they were talking about “moving camping” and wyb explained it’s like moving your house to the camp because of how one brings a lot of things. the he says: “it means he likes to moves many things...a lot of things...then..” so who is he? why so specific as he? Do you camp with someone who brings a lot of things it’s as good as bringing his house along? I don’t wanna judge XZ lol. cause when we see him, he prefers small bags so you would think he’s okay with not carrying too much. but i also have the feeling that ZZ would bring a lot just to be “ready” when they go camping.
3. When choosing the number for the lucky fans, he picked zone A row 2 number 30 and then when he was asked to change it cause there is no #30, he picked row 3 number 20. 2 & 3. His favorite numbers. This is not new, even @ summer surf shop this was noticed. It’s nice to see that it didn’t change. 23 ( Ai Zhan / Love Zhan )
4. As for some food CPN, WYB said again that he can’t cook and that he can only prepare simple dishes. One day, we will know what these are. I’m thinking he’s being humble about it and if he says he “can cook” people may expect more complicated dishes.
When “spiced beef ( or sauced beef ) was mentioned, he smiled. here is the reference to that if you don’t get it.

In one segment of the show, he was mixing fruits with the yogurt drink and he was asked why he chose lychee. He said it’s because he likes it and likes to freeze it to eat. This reminded cpfs of an LRLG post that said WYB peeled lychees for XZ. It’s so specific of a fruit and then it gets “confirmed” like this!
Xiao laoshi thinks the lychees are too high in calories and doesn’t eat them, but Wang laoshi has already peeled them.
WYB: "Didn't you say you wanted to eat it a few days ago?" Brother X specially went to buy it for you."
🧔‍♂️: “The owner of the stall said that this batch is sweet, try it."
XZ: “Then I'll take it later”
WYB: “Eat later”
• WYB shared about what does when camping and he said what he does is drink coffee. “yes, space out, finish the coffee, and then make another cup, then drink again.”
someone please get him a coffee endorsement! hahahahaha! and the commercial for it will be a scene like this. i really feel for him cause with the statement today from yuehua, this is really a way for him to relax. to camp somewhere quiet and just chill. where no one is following & harassing him.
anyway, it’s cool to see him loving coffee now when in the past he wasn’t seen much drinking it. but at the time of cql filming, xz was the one who loved coffee. is this another way of them adapting each other’s likes?

• While talking about Qingdao ( where the fan meet is taking place ) he was asked if he went there before.. and he stopped and replied, they know better than me. and like he doesn’t even know sometimes what city he is flying to. CPN is that he didn’t want to say when he last went to QD. that’s because there were some talks before that he visited the ADLAD cast ( XZ ) in QD. 🤫
but this could also be him calling out the sisheng fans who “knows” his itinerary and private schedule. 💀💀💀💀💀
There is a new fake story about XZ collecting blind box figures and he complained to WLS that he cannot seem to complete the set he wants. So WLS helped him get it all. This is the set he allegedly wanted :

The second part of this is Patrick ( XZ counterfeiting account ) refuting the rumors of a drama collab between XZ & Y@ngzi. Whether the account is purely a fan account with contact to XZS or WJJW. An XZS employee or a WJJW employee, the sus part here is how quickly this rumor was denied in XZ’s part. There are so many drama and movie melons coming out and putting XZ’s name on it and they don’t address it. If they do, it’s not as quick as this. 30 minutes from when that melon account rumor started getting traction.

This “speed” of denial is not new, some artists / fan accounts do this too ( like ZLY fan when she was rumored to star in mermaid came out lol ) but it’s uncharacteristic for XZ.
There is also a ! on it, this is the only one with that since the account started posting in 5/2020 where that was used. it’s added for emphasis looks like. you can check the account to see for yourself.

I’m not saying he hates his former co-star. I’d like to think they have a professional relationship as what one would expect with a former co-worker and people who go around the same entertainment circle. But one thing is for sure, he doesn’t want to be associated with her in this capacity. A project using his popularity to get attention when he is already signed on with Condor Heroes. And the last time they went on HS together was about using the same car which last night — y@ngzi was on HS again because that same car was also used by Li Xian ( also a former co-star she is romantically linked with ) proving that the issue was so ridiculous! but somehow, some glass hearted cpfs had doubts. lol. please.
i don’t like talking about our boys and other cps associated to them but his connection with this woman seems to make a lot of cpfs nervous. which i don’t understand. 😂😂😂😂 so i hope those people get some sort of “comfort” with this.

No one had ever told you how difficult it was to have your own YouTube channel. If you weren’t constantly stressed about strict video deadlines or new hair tutorial ideas, then you were often anxious about meeting fans’ expectations and the occasional hate comments on your videos. Though, without a doubt, the most difficult aspect of your job was having to deal with your annoying hair model, also known as your boyfriend.
Working with Ran was both a blessing and a curse. On some days, your unpredictable boyfriend would remain quiet and simply look pretty for the camera, allowing you to style his hair and record your videos in peace. On other days, Ran would whimsically decide to be chaotic, frequently teasing you with kisses and compliments, maybe even a story or two about the killings that happened at work last week, all of which you would have to painstakingly edit out of your videos later.
And yet, no matter how truly exasperating he was at times, you also couldn’t have asked for a better model than Ran. He was your canvas and your muse, always unintentionally inspiring you to try out different hairstyles on him, if only to see how they would look on your pretty boyfriend. It most definitely helped that Ran had such a lovely face, as his attractiveness helped to highlight the beauty of your work. From simple, everyday looks to formal half-do’s and buns, the possibilities with your boyfriend’s hair were limitless. Not to mention, the countless comments regarding him from your viewers were quite funny, too.
I would sell my soul to L’Oreal to have such beautiful hair

I know that’s just how his face is, but the way he is staring at me as if I am unworthy and beneath him-
I know you told us in your last Q & A that your boyfriend wasn’t a part of the yakuza, but like, those tattoos?? Is it just me??
More than anything, though, what you liked about having Ran as your hair model was that you were able to spend more time with him, especially considering how busy your boyfriend always was with work. As an executive, Ran would often arrive home in the early hours of the morning or be in another city meeting with dangerous and influential clients, so it was these quiet, simple moments with him that you enjoyed and cherished most.
“Are you done yet?” your boyfriend asked anxiously after checking his watch for the third time.
Replying with a halfhearted hum, you carefully secured another hair clip in place before moving on to repeat this step once more. This had been your meticulous routine for the past thirty minutes, and although Ran was usually excited to see your finished work, he really couldn’t afford to give you any more time right now. Ran loved you, he really did, but he also feared that he would be late to his meeting this afternoon if you continued to be like this.
“Almost,” you said with a placating kiss to his cheek, and despite your reassurance, Ran’s almost instant and tired sigh signalled to you that he didn’t believe your words at all, and you couldn’t help but find this funny.
“Love, that’s what you said fifteen minutes earlier.”
“Okay, but I mean it this time. There, done!” you excitedly told him before taking a step back to admire your work. With a nod of your head, you couldn’t stop smiling as you took a few pictures and gazed at Ran with tearful eyes of amazement and pride. “Beautiful.”
“Thank you,” he immediately replied, making you playfully scoff as you began to gather your belongings from the bathroom counter. Too busy cleaning and putting away your hair clips, you almost didn’t register the quick kiss that Ran had given you before he hastily got ready to leave the house. “I’ll be going now.”
“Be safe,” you instantly responded. “A-and please don’t kill anyone today!”
“No promises!”
The drive to Bonten headquarters was one of loud shouting and annoyed curses as Ran tried his best to make it to his meeting on time while still not going over the speed limit. The last thing he needed at the moment was another police chase around Tokyo like last month. By the time he had reached the doors of the meeting room, Ran was trying to catch his breath while quickly fixing his tie before he walked into the room like a man who was fashionably late and not just plain late.
“Apologies, gentlemen,” Ran said as he took his seat next to Rindou. “I was dealing with something at home and nearly forgot the time. Anyway, what have we discussed so far?”
After not hearing an immediate answer, Ran proceeded to glance up from the paper in front of him and scan around the room, now noticing how all of the other Bonten higher-ups were staring at him in absolute confusion and amusement. Turning to Rindou, the younger Haitani quickly avoided Ran’s questioning gaze as he covered his mouth in a desperate attempt to fight back his laughter.
“What’s wrong?” Ran asked everyone curiously, not understanding why they were acting this way.
“Oh, nothing,” Sanzu replied, the smirk on his face telling Ran that he was about to say some sarcastic, taunting response. “Your highness.”
At the mention of that mocking title, all of the men began to laugh uncontrollably, Ran’s expression of confusion only further adding to their amusement as some of them started to laugh even louder, while others appeared to have tears in their eyes. Even Mikey, their cold and heartless leader, was struggling to hold onto his mask of apathy and indifference, as Ran could easily discern a subtle smile on his boss’s usually emotionless face.
It was only after Rindou had shown Ran a picture of himself did the older Haitani finally begin to understand the reason for his colleagues’ previously inexplicable and sudden series of laughter, and he honestly couldn’t help but shoot them all a completely unimpressed look because of it.
Ran’s hair was currently arranged into an elegant half-do, the strands of his dyed black hair having been formed into pretty, ribbon-like spirals that rested against his back and were artfully decorated with golden butterfly and flower hair clips that beautifully contrasted the colour of his hair.
Leaning back into his seat with an annoyed scoff, Ran exasperatedly waited for everyone to finish with their laughter before loudly saying, “You guys are just jealous. If you’re all done now, can we get back to the meeting?”
“H-he’s right,” Kakucho managed to say as they all began to quiet down. “Let’s get back to the meeting, everyone.”
However, for the next week, it became quite clear to Ran that he was the current joke of the office, as he had started to find random hair clips waiting for him on his desk whenever he arrived at work. They were obviously a lighthearted, teasing gesture from the other Bonten higher-ups, as each hair clip was a different style that spoke to the personalities of the other executives. And despite Ran’s unspoken annoyance about this, the bright smile on your face when he would gift you with one of these new and expensive hair accessories was more than enough to make him stay quiet and not say a word.

How do you think Sephiroth maintains his long gorgeous hair, because that boy looks like he can be in a L’Oreal commercial. 
A combination of excellent genetics, flawless daily grooming and hygiene, and yes--special hair products. It's not to the extent that Shinra describes on Silver Elite, but Sephiroth does indulge in some fancier means of hair care!
Seph is very proud of his hair and doesn't let anyone touch without permission. Getting to pet and fuss over his hair is probably the greatest privilege he can bestow upon you. Long brushing sessions are one of the few times in the day when he feels genuinely relaxed.

Edward George Gardner (February 25, 1925 - March 20, 2023) personal care entrepreneur was born in Chicago to Frank and Eva Gardner. Following service in the Army during WWII, he returned to Chicago and enrolled in Chicago Teacher’s College, where he received his BA. He obtained his MA from the University of Chicago.
He worked for fourteen years as an instructor and school administrator for the Chicago Public Schools while working part-time as a Black hair care sales representative. He and his wife, Bettiann, launched Soft Sheen Products from their basement in 1964. With brands such as Optimum and Care Free Curl, Soft Sheen Products grew into a multimillion-dollar enterprise employing more than 400 people. The company developed globally, exporting its products to Canada, the Caribbean, and West Africa. In 1998, he sold Soft Sheen Products to L’Oreal of Paris and passed the day-to-day operation of Soft Sheen on to his children.
He was committed to service in the Chicago community. He owned the New Regal Theater and served as president of Garden Investment Partners. He received credit for helping register over 250,000 people for Mayor Harold Washington’s election. He served as a board member of the Chicago Urban League and was invited by President Bill Clinton to attend an economic summit in Little Rock to discuss the impact corporations can have on urban employment.
Soft Sheen’s honors include a “Company of the Year” award from Black Enterprise Magazine and a 1999 Golden Pyramid Award. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence
