I can't stop thinking about the way that all those descriptions of eponine & javert using the exact same phrases gives this last scene where he sees her body & says "it strikes me that I know that girl" the quality of someone looking at their own corpse

#in that the descriptions are casting them as being from similar material so it's like a whole different version of him w a whole other life #that he's recognizing but not aware of the extent to which he's Recognizing #but also something something recognizing a corpse when you're about to be one #<- is this an insane take?? sorry if so #thoughts #les mis #also smth smth his unwillingness to sympathize with people & thus see the ways people can be cast so similarly but be in such different #situations & such different people preventing him ever fully recognizing something like that & so it's left to the narrative to point out #the irony of the fact that his conscious recognition was from arresting her (iirc?) while the broader recognition he doesn't see is All Thi #if that makes sense akhdfkjasf #idk I'm still chewing it over

13 y/o jason gets injured on patrol and bruce stays by his bed, so he's there when jason bolts upright at 3am ("FUCK!" "swear jar") bc he forgot his science project is due tomorrow and he hadn't done it (he's more of a fine arts kid). bruce tells him to go back to sleep. next day he goes to school and finds his science project has been completely overhauled. bruce threw out his baking soda volcano and replaced it with a new clean energy system made from fuckinf. pipe cleaners and boba straws, powered by an android phone. jason has to try to present it to his teacher and pretend like he understands how it works
