A wish come true - Adrien AUGreste Day 1+2

@adrienaugust  Day 1! I decided to continue from last year's story 'A wish for a different life' but with a new twist, Adrien doesn't have the cat Miraculous just yet. You can go back and check out the 3 new chapters I posted on the previous story so it connects to this one. Since Lukadrien June didn't happen this year, I just wanted the excuse to have those two be adorable. Now, this isn't gonna be compliant past S3, so no Lila with a way to confusing life, or Jagged Dad or Sentimonster of main charaecters.

“Adrien? Sole, why is there a massive package from the craft store at our door?” Viola Rossi, Italian diplomat assigned to France to help with the Hawkmoth situation, struggled to close the door to the apartment she lived in with her son. “Caro, are you here?” it wouldn’t surprise her if he wasn’t. unlike usual times where Adrien was in a new location, he had a massive amount of people he hung out with, so normally he was home later. She herself was usually in the office, but she’d been allowed home early today. “Adrien?”

She walked into his room and found him asleep on the floor with 3 of his classmates. Marinette, Alya and Nino if she remembered correctly. Homework was strewn around the floor, looking mostly done. They’d formed an odd square, each using another person as a pillow; Adrien on Nino’s stomach, Alya resting on Nino’s outstretched arm, Marinette on Alya’s legs and Adrien’s own legs thrown over Marinette’s lap. She meant to leave them when Nino started to move, pulling his arm from under Alya. Like a domino effect, the four woke up, stretching and whining like a pile of kittens.

“Mama?” Adrien asked, noticing her by the door. “When did you get here? What time is it?”

“Only 5. I was able to leave early. If you kids aren’t needed at home right away, how about I make dinner for everyone?”

It took a second for everyone to actually focus but they all agreed. Adrien left his friends to continue waking up and cleaning up their mess and joined his mother in the kitchen.

“I think we have enough pasta for Carbonara. I’ve still got all the garlic one of my coworkers gave me, it’s a shame I don’t have the time to make focaccia. I guess I’ll just do garlic bread. Oh, Adrien, what was this package the front desk had me pick up?”

“Hmm?” Adrien asked, pulling down the bagged pasta, trying to remember where the pot disappeared to. “Oh, I had an order. Since Gabriel Agreste sent money to buy a whole new jacket his daughter ruined before it even got sent to the cleaners, I decided to use the money for my biggest cosplay yet.”

“And what is that?”

“It’s one I got Max to help me out with.”

Viola turned and looked at her son who seemed oh so focused on anything but her. He was hiding something. Not any normal teenager stuff, oh no. this had to do with his health. Adrien had a habit of hiding how he felt when he thought his parents were too busy. They’d gotten good at catching him early, but this wasn’t him hiding being sick.

“What’s in the box Adrien?”

The Italian boy flinched at the tone and turned to his mother. “About, 1000 feathers?”

“Adrien!”

It was definitely one of the odder allergies his parents had heard of. Pigeons were in abundance in Italian streets, not to mention other birds. The smallest feather or one too close to him and Adrien would descend into a sneezing storm. Usually, an allergy pill would take care of the worst of it but all his doctors recommended he avoided feathers. As he got into cosplay, he learned that also meant most fake feathers. He tried to avoid using them in cosplays, sometimes not having a choice like for his Cardcaptor Sakura shoots, but with meds, a lot of eyedrops to hide the red eyes and copious amounts of tissues, he could get through them. dealing with nearly 1000 of them to create opening and closing wings for a Queen Serenity cosplay? Adrien was going to count his luck if he didn’t die.

“Achoo!” Adrien blew his nose, turning the fan in his room to face him, as Max set up the backpack for him. Only the first row of both wings had been finished and today was to check if they could open without them getting tangled.

“Alright. Here’s the backpack.” Max said, handing him the metal box with straps. It was missing the wing pieces, which Adrien was fine with. Anything to keep from dying quicker. Once he had it on his shoulders and secured around his waist, he held his breath as Max fit the poles into the back, listening to them click in place. Once he found his centre again with the new weight, Max clicked something on his laptop and after a moment and some mechanical wiring, the wings started to move, unfurling. The movement of it wasn’t as opulent yet with only a row of feathers each, but still. Adrien could just imagine how it would look with his white gown and wig.

“Achoo! Oh, fuck!” his sneeze tilted him forward and with the wings, there was no stopping it. he landed on a squishy surface instead of his bedroom floor. It took a bit of finagling to get the wings out of his way, but he saw he landed on one of his beanbags.

“Sorry. There was no way I was going to be able to catch you so I did something else.” Max said, patting the end of the beanbag.

“No, you’re – achoo! Achoo! Achoo! Oh god, get these off of me!”

Adrien wasn’t waving the white flag just yet, he just needed to breath air for a second. He could do this. he would do this.

He could tell his friends were going to judge him so hard at the end of this.

Luka smiled as the door to Adrien’s apartment opened and there he stood. His boyfriend flashed him a smile and moved back to let him in. He stepped inside, ready to press a kiss on Adrien’s cheek, if only to see him turn red like he did the first time when Adrien sneezed, turning his head so he didn’t sneeze on him. 

“You ok?” Luka asked, slightly concerned.

“Yep.” he said, nodding before sneezing again at least 3 times in a row. Luka raised an eyebrow with a look on his face that said he didn’t believe him. “Maybe. I might have a minor allergy to feathers.”

Luka looked down at the bag he was asked to pick up on his way over of white feathers.

“Adrien,” he started.

“You sound like my mama.” he said before he sneezed again. “The wings are almost done and Marinette agreed to keep them at her place. Achoo!” Adrien sniffed, taking in the raised brow of Luka. “I swear it’s not nearly as bad as you think.” he sneezed once more, sniffing and groaning.

“You make a compelling case.” Luka said sarcastically. 

Adrien stuck his tongue out, before sneezing again, covering his mouth and yelping when he bit his tongue. “Not a word.” he spoke from behind his hands, watching Luka’s brow raise again.

“You’re cute.” Luka couldn’t help but laugh. “Come on, I'll put this in your room and we can take a walk so you can breathe.”

“Fine.” but Adrien wasn’t going to complain. He was getting to the point of needing to scratch his eyes out. But it was fine. He could do this.

He could not do this. He was half hanging out of his window, as far as he could get from the wings. Why did he think he could do this? He should have just commissioned Max and Marinette to make them and deal with fittings and then the final photoshoot.

“Hello?” Marinette answered from the other end of the phone.

“Mari.” he whined.

“Oh boy. Waving the flag huh?”

“Can you please help me finish them? I will pay you; I just can’t do this anymore.”

Marinette sighed, “If anything, you actually won me money. I bet Alya you last until this week. She thought you would have given up before.”

He’d be insulted but after sneezing again and struggling to not drop his phone, he didn’t care.

“You poor thing. I’ll be over soon and I'll have some of my dad’s cookies.”

“Thank you.” he whimpered, near tears.

“But what the heck are you going to do come shoot day?”

“I…don’t know. Suffer?”

“Adrien.” she groaned. 

That was starting to get insulting. Everyone kept saying his name like he was supposed to know better. Ok, yeah, he did but they also knew how he got when making cosplays. Marinette acted the same with her designs.

“Don’t lecture me, just, please come quick.”

“Alright, alright. I’m on my way.” 

she hung up and Adrien dropped his phone on the floor of his room before hiding his face in his arms. He hadn’t mentioned to others he had planned a cosplay of the Wind Card, who was covered in feathers. He was really going to need to come up with an alternative. Which involved research that he’d totally do after his head stopped spinning.

The final product had better be perfect.

“Remind me to thank Chloe.” Adrien said, tugging at his wig, trying to fix it.

Chloe, in an attempt to be nicer, had heard Adrien trying to finalize a location for his shoot and offered to get him half an hour in front of Notre Dame before construction continued for the day. He was confused as to why she was going out of her way to be nicer on her own, as she hadn’t really been even after the Naruto shoot, but he decided to not question it.

His friends had given up part of their morning, early morning to be more accurate, to help him in exchange for food. Max just wanted him to be a beta player for his new video game. 

“Ok, we’re at 20 minutes and those construction workers keep giving us looks so let’s work quick.”

“Hold your breath,” Max ordered, pushing the blonde locks away from the backpack Adrien had worn under his gown. With Marinette’s help, he managed to disguise it with extra fabric from the bow. Max slid them into place and adjusted them, not noticing them brushing Adrien’s face. “Ok, we’re good!”

“And dress is good!” Marinette called from the back

“Achoo!”

“Nino, keep pressing the shutter button!” Alya ordered.

“Achoo!”

“Repeat purple elephant! It’ll stop you from sneezing.” Max called.

Adrien was willing to try anything. With Nino moving around him like he was attached to a camera jib, he muttered the words under his breath, knowing his eyes had to be getting red. His eyes started to sting as the natural wind moved the feathers closer to him, even worse as Max opened them.

“Purple - achoo! Achoo!”

“Last ones!”

“Hey kids, hurry up. We’ve got work to do!”

“You know,” Nino said, leaning against Adrien, who once again had his head in his arms, “some of these are pretty good for only 20 minutes and construction workers yelling at us.”

Pulling his head out enough to look at Nino’s camera, he had to admit he was right. Nino had gotten a side profile just as Adrien had sneezed. With his eyes closed, mouth covered and tears starting to pool, he looked like he was in anguish. All they had to do was erase the redness from his eyes and no one would know it was allergy induced anguish he was in.

“Alright, four flat whites, one tea infusion, two French toasts and two pancakes all with fruit. Sweetie, are you sure I can’t get you anything to eat?” their waitress asked Adrien as she dropped off the orders for the others.

“Not unless you have a sharp object, I can use to rip my eyes out with.”

“He’s got allergies.” Nino said in reply to the scared waitress.

“So, I'm guessing no Cardcaptor characters?” Alya teased, cutting into her French toast. When Adrien didn’t answer, she poked him, watching his shoulders pull in. “Oh my god! Adrien!”

“I already spent the money on the outfit, leave me alone!” Let it not be said that Adrien wasn’t a glutton for punishment.

My Recommended Fic List

So, I got this ask awhile ago, and since I have been re-reading a bunch of my old favorite fics as a way to cheer up after work I figured why not. This list will be long... and varied but mostly its older fics cuz idk there my favs. Now lets go:

Fashion Upgrade - By @soap-lady : Straight up one of my favorite fics ever, its fun, its creative, it never fails to make me laugh when I need something warm and wholesome after a bad day. Also go check out the rest of her stuff there's so much good okay like shes just a writing queen. Shes on AO3 I don't want to spoil you on her other stuff just GO experience it for yourself.

Ode To Decoy pt 1 / 2 / 3 - By @a-marlene-s : Ive always liked this short sweet little fic about Lila getting caught. Its Lila + class salt though so avoid if that's not your flavor.

EVERYTHING - By @unmaskedagain : They have salt, they have sugar, they have funny, they have crossovers. Like honestly they are a just a great writer with so much variety so go check out the masterlist I linked and I guarantee there will be something there you like.

@ravennm84 Is a writer on the saltier side but they have a wonderful selection of weird wacky tales from the salty but oh so well written Damning Evidence that sees Lila get caught in the best way to the 3 part Horror inspired Serafina other great fics from them include Marinettes Family Court Circus pt 1 / 2 and Of Moldy Bread and Cockroaches / Be Kind to Servers honestly its worth giving there blog a look.

@mochinek0 Is another writer with several beloved fics. They write a lot of Maribat and we love them for it. Ones to check out would be Blind Date / Bruce vs Gabriel just go check out there tag list of daminette for more.

Accidental Crime Boss Marinette - By @lady-literature : This is a wonderful idea and a wonderful little fic and I just... I just like it okay. Sadly I haven't read a lot of there other stuff... But I might after finishing this list considering how much I enjoy this one.

@nobodyfamousposts I love a LOT of there fics. They are one of the best when it comes to striking that sweet spot of calling out the show for some of its garbage while not getting so salty that you cant have fun lighthearted goodness. I have been looking for a masterlist of there work but cant find one so just go stalk there tags. I do recommend there Chloe's Lament Series 1 / 2 exploring how certain 'wishes' would backfire. Guardian Assistant Kevin is also a good one Miracle Queen Aftermath pt 1 / 2 / The 8 parter Burn the Witch series / The Wisdom Teeth Reveal / Kagami Vs The Wall of Faces / Resigning With Grace & Spite / I tried to give a lot of links cuz they have a lot of stuff

Kill Them With Kindness - By @luki-fanfic : Well written, good salt without going overboard. Just good vibes. I havent stalked there other stuff but if its anything like this fic its probably excellent quality.

Stephen Vladislav pt 1 / 2 - By @stormiclown : Adrien centered salt on the idea of finally giving Adrien his own proper rival. I like the idea of Adrien having a rival because its usually Marinette and this was just the right length to get those creative ideas flowing. Also just well written what more can you ask for.

Power Trip - By @storygirl000 : This was the first fic that made me go... Wait would it be more fun if Lila was actually competent? And that set me on the path to writing my own fics where Lila is more villainous and more capable. Its short, well written. Good.

Your Wish is My Command - By DemiGoddess28 on AO3 : A great 11 chapter fic looking into Lila's life if she were to win and get a miraculous wish. Its got sugary goodness for our protagonists and the class and salt for our dearest friend Lila.

LadyBugOut AU - By Miraculous-Content on AO3 : A 50 chapter fic made up of snippets and ideas. I found it really inspiring in many ways. I also love how it redeems Marinettes classmates showing how and why they were tricked but holding them accountable anyway its just... Good.

Juleka vs The Forces of the Universe - By goldenlaurelleaves on AO3 : For those of us not yet ready to accept the death of luka/mari we have this wonderful fic showing Juleka being the biggest wingman as she helps these idiots find there way together.

ChaoticNeutral on AO3 has there own Chloe's Lament fic as well as a Gabriel's Lament fic for people who need sweet salty of those two characters.

BroadwayCutie16 was Inspired by the person above and DemiGoddesses your wish is my command fic to write Lila's Lament fic going over Lilas failed wish. Honestly I always love these fics because there just so interesting and the way wishes can be taken and twisted is always a fascinating idea to me.

#WayneAngel - By Tired-Writing-Teach on AO3 : For us Maribat lovers. Its fun and lighthearted with some good gags and some light fluff.

Damian in Paris - By Lilliesandliveries on AO3 : A sweet Maribat series showing what would happen if Damian ran away from home and found himself in Paris and getting therapy.

How a Demon Commissions an Angel - By AlixAnonymous : Damian blackmails Marinette into letting him be her client so he can get his bros the best gifts, they end up becoming penpal buddies.

Mythomania - By LadyEnna_50 on AO3 : Proof that I dont hate Adrien or Mari/Adrien. In this fic Adrien's spine gets titanium plating and he sees just how bad Lila is hurting Marinette and does something about it.

The Contingency - By AbyssalGuardian on AO3 : SALT. Also Tim/Mari but even still I love the way this was written, the style, and some of the ideas just ugh love it. Its not for those who dont like salt so just avoid at your own discretion. Its about a chaotic Marinette done with her life running away to Gotham where she meets her true black cat, and gets her life back on track.

The String That Binds Us - By FaithAndATypeWriter on AO3 : Okay so is there any Mari/Bat fan who hasnt already heard of this one? Who cares its good, its cute, I love it. May the author be blessed with snacks.

The Great IKEA Game - By @batsandbugs : Okay again... I think every Mari/Bat fan has probably heard of this one already because its just that good and that popular. But who cares I am recommending it anyway. Don't read if your allergic to fun I guess.

ok since i’ve really only whined but not actually explained my reasoning lol, here is my take on the s5 finale. (this is long, sorry)

I think we’re all on the same page about the idea that gabriel being seen as a hero, by all of paris but especially adrien, is icky. and on top of that it does not feel good that marinette is supporting that lie, even if it’s out of love for adrien. most people are assuming this issue will be resolved somehow in 6, probably by lila exposing the truth. cool. that’s my hope as well. but even if that’s the case, i still dislike the framing of his wish and what the surrounding context seems to imply about it.

it is not my assumption that gabriel’s wish included green initiatives and a reformation of the parisian school system lol. I assume that his wish was to exchange his own life for nathalie’s. but as we know, wishes literally rewrite reality. the fact is that paris improved after his wish, so it is still related. he remade the world, and the new world ended up better. It all supports the idea that his wish was a good thing—a noble sacrifice that redeemed him in some sense. my impression is that even if (hopefully) he is exposed as hawkmoth, the actual wish he made will still be framed as admirable. obviously marinette found it noble enough to agree to lie to everyone about gabriel’s identity as hawkmoth.

which brings me to another pain point: the fact that gabriel essentially won the long battle against ladybug and chat noir. i’ve heard arguments that he didn’t win because he died and how is that winning? he got what he deserved in the end. but imo, he just put himself out of his own misery, because he was on the brink of death anyway because of his cataclysm wound, and he basically escaped having to face any emotional consequences from his literal terrorism and child abuse. and even if you don’t consider that a win, you also can’t consider marinette’s end of the deal a win either. her goal was to prevent hawkmoth from unifying the miraculous and making a reality-altering wish. which is exactly what happened. so she failed her mission. ladybug lost. and to me it’s sort of bizarre that the narrative seems to be framing that as a good thing? ladybug lost, but the new reality that resulted from it is so much better than the old one, and she is actively choosing to lie in order to protect the seeming goodness of that reality.

marinette is lying, of course, to protect adrien, which does not feel out of character. we’ve seen her do this before. but it is frustrating to me for precisely that reason. the final battle was meant to highlight how much marinette has grown over the past five seasons, but her choice here highlights the ways she has not grown. starting with syren in season 2, she has witnessed how much it hurts chat noir to be left in the dark and how it weakens their partnership. in that case, she convinced master fu to let him be in the know, and trust was restored. but then she continued a habit of keeping things from him, putting more and more distance between them, till it culminated with kuro neko in s4—a total breakdown of the ladynoir partnership, where chat noir renounced his miraculous. i would have thought that marinette would learn from that experience and realize that keeping people in the dark is harmful and that even if the truth hurts, adrien has a right to know it. but she once again made the decision for him, and when he finally finds out, it will be all the more painful to know that the person he loves and trusts most in the world lied to him. i actually really appreciate that marinette as a protagonist has such a good heart but is still such an imperfect character, so i want to respect this choice as a manifestation of her flawed but good intentions. i just can’t help but be really disappointed that after 5 seasons of making the same mistakes again and again, she has apparently not learned from them, which makes me feel she has not grown the way the writers say she has.

her facing hawkmoth alone for the final battle is supposed to be a sign of that growth—and yes, I can see how she has grown a lot in confidence and capability since her shaky debut as ladybug. but i also feel that her flying solo defies one of the central themes of miraculous: that in the fight against evil, good people need to stand together. just think of the difference between the s4 and the s5 finale. in strike back, ladybug is broken and sobbing because she has lost the miraculous and feels like a failure who is all alone. but then she is buoyed up by her faithful partner and all of paris, who express unbreakable faith in her and vow to stand by her side. that was so powerful! showing that she doesn’t have to be alone, and she’s not supposed to be alone, and that part of being a hero means accepting help and working with others to achieve good goals. this message was a major part of marinette’s character arc in s4 and it’s something that was introduced from the very beginning and has been supported over and over in the show. but then in “re-creation,” she has no team, and she doesn’t need one. which … good for her, I guess? But then why did we have 5 seasons of “you and me against the world” if in the end it was always going to culminate with “I'm sure we can figure out a solution if we work together. You … and me”—referring to Marinette and Gabriel, while Adrien is literally locked in a blank white prison hundreds of miles away?

it just really kills me that in kuro neko, adrien gave up his ring under the assumption that chat noir was not needed—that he was entirely useless to ladybug. and then the narrative proved him right. ladybug did not need chat noir to defeat monarch. she just needed his ring. the writers confirmed in their recent commentary that they had planned a bug noire fusion from the beginning, and they intentionally sidelined adrien so that could happen—they even had to figure out an excuse for why he wouldn’t be there. so they traumatized him with nightmares of destruction and fear of akumatization to ensure that he would once again give up his ring and conveniently remained locked away while bug noire faced down monarch alone.

you could argue that it’s better for adrien to have missed the final battle anyway, since facing his own father would just be even more traumatizing for him. i understand that. (that’s the reason i liked that in the owl house, it ended up being just luz vs belos, and hunter did not have to face him again.) but at the same time it feels so narratively unjust that chat noir—who has been fighting against hawkmoth by ladybug’s side since day 1—has zero part in seeing his mission through to the end. even though it’s all about him. because while marinette is the protagonist, adrien is the connecting piece of the whole story. it’s always been ladybug vs hawkmoth, and adrien is in the middle of them, because he’s both ladybug’s partner and gabriel’s son.

you’d think, logically, that as the connecting piece, Adrien’s decisions would be vital to the plot. That he’d have the power to tip it either way. but instead he is completely stripped of his autonomy—literally, because he’s a senti, and also symbolically in the narrative, because he’s simply removed from the equation. Like, he’s still central to the equation but he has no say in it. It’s all about him but he’s not even present. Everyone is fighting for him but he can’t fight for himself. Everyone is speaking for him but he doesn’t even have a voice.

the finale kind of sets up marinette and gabriel as narrative foils of each other, showing how they have the same motivation—to make adrien happy. and they make the same decision to protect that goal. which is interesting, sure, but also kind of effed up to me? i’m not sure what to take from the idea of the protagonist mirroring the antagonist in this way. that’s been done loads of times, but in this context, for a child audience, i don’t know what to make of it. what kind of message that is supposed to send to the children who are the primary audience of this show? ladybug is a good guy, and in the end, she’s just like the villain because they both love adrien and want to protect him. so that’s why she agrees to tell everyone the bad guy was a hero. ????

that gabriel/marinette parallel leaves adrien to parallel emilie, which makes sense and is fitting but also just sort of … depressing and again, lowkey effed up. that adrien ends up with the same narrative role as a corpse in a coffin. almost, like, macguffin-esque—a thing that motivates the agents of the story but has no agency itself. despite him being so central to both sides of the main conflict, his decisions don’t affect the outcome. because he doesn’t have the option to make any. because he’s not even present. both gabriel and marinette made a life-altering decision for adrien, thinking it was best for him, without considering that what’s best for him is to know his own story and make his own choices. him getting the rings was somewhat relieving, but it also felt like kind of a slap in the face. because it’s like, “look, adrien’s free! he has his amok and no one can control him anymore!” but, like, how free is a person who is living a lie? will he ever experience true autonomy, or will his life continue to be dictated by the decisions others make for him? will the narrative give him decision-making power or will his role continue to be symbolic?

one thing that makes this all extra dissatisfying is that Adrien literally does not have the option of getting closure with his father, because he’s dead. maybe a dramatic reveal in the middle of the final battle would not be the best way to go about it, but now he can’t have any sort of closure. in the owl house, it didn’t feel necessary for hunter to be present in the belos takedown because he already had his confrontation with belos in graveyard possession scene. belos tried to physically control him, and hunter broke free, and spoke his mind, and as traumatizing at is all was, it was good for him to be able to do that. it would’ve been so nice if adrien also had that opportunity. if he did break free from his father’s control, either by overcoming akumatization or the control of his amok somehow. or if not that, if he were just able to have one honest conversation with his father about emilie. like he did with his alt self in the paris special. it was so significant for the writers that bug noire detransformed and spoke to gabriel as marinette. why couldn’t adrien have done that? Marinette is the one to tell Gabriel that Adrien wouldn’t want him to make the wish and hurt someone else, that Adrien has made peace with his grief, that he has learned to cherish his mother’s memory without living in the past. wouldn’t that be even more powerful coming from adrien himself? if adrien was part of that final confrontation just as himself, we could even still have bug noire play a primary role.

i get that adrien being part of the battle is a risk, since we saw in chat blanc one option of how it could play out. but we also saw in the collector another potential way adrien might respond to learning that his father is hawkmoth—charging into battle by ladybug’s side. especially if he was given time to process the idea beforehand. it’s not impossible. you’d just have to compose the scene and its buildup a different way. so honestly it feels sort of lazy to just remove him for the sake of ease? and also sort of a waste of narrative potential? the villain being the father of one of the main characters is such an interesting plot element. imagine if luke skywalker did not ever face darth vader. if he never even learned that vader was his father. or if he learned that fact after vader’s death, which was the result of a confrontation he was not present for.

of course, i know adrien is not the protagonist. marinette is. and of course i want her to be empowered by the story. but i’m getting a little tired of what i see as kind of cheap feminism in ML. like, girl power for the sake of visibility so the writers can pat themselves on the back about it, if that makes sense? this show does have so much good feminist power with a strong female lead who has realistic flaws and a big heart, who overcomes self-doubt and other struggles, and who has proven time and again to be a smart, capable leader who has earned the trust of everyone on her team. but all of that sometimes feels undercut by the narrative treatment of adrien—like he has to be put down somehow to elevate marinette. ML has subverted gender roles in a lot of ways by having ladybug lead with her brain while chat noir follows with his heart. and adrien has a lot of other strong feminine associations—the focus on his physical appearance, the expectation of perfection and obedience, his soft and gentle nature, his romanticism, etc. And one of the biggest ones is all the ways he is trapped, all the ways he is pushed down and made to be submissive. they even depict him as a princess locked in a tower, with marinette as the knight in shining armor to save him from the evil dragon (his father). with adrien in that traditionally feminine role, it would have been empowering to see him to take a leading part in his own liberation. instead, he was locked away both literally and symbolically in favor of a solo bug noire confrontation, so marinette could look like a girlboss in her cool new outfit, taking on the bad guy all by herself, even when it would (imo) fit better with the themes of the show and her own character arc for her to fight alongside her partner. but as Thomas Astruc said, “She's Barbie, he's Ken. You don't like it. I get it. It won't change. Anything else?” (X) it just makes me feel that the writers cared more about the cinematic value and feminist brownie points of that battle than its narrative significance—which i feel could only be increased by adrien’s participation. “all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good people do nothing” … and that is all adrien was allowed to do.

i think a lot of fans at this point are just assuming that whatever feels dissatisfying/off will be fixed in s6. they’re trusting that the writers have a brilliant master plan that we just have to be patient and wait to see come together. idk, maybe i’m just tired. or a little jaded. i think there will be a lot to enjoy in s6, but i’m also prepared for disappointment. i honestly did not love many elements of s4 as well as s5, and i had expectations that weren’t fulfilled there either. i’ve felt let down by the writers many times now, so i expect that many of their future choices will  not resonate with me. but i still love ML, and I am eager to see how everything will unfold. i’ve also read a lot of other analyses of the s5 finale, and there are great points being made on many sides. this is just my personal interpretation and opinion. i did not like the finale when i first watched it, and after sitting on it for months and trying to evaluate my feelings and look at it logically, i still do not like it lol. if you do, great! this isn’t intended as a personal attack on anyone—just me expressing my two cents, which ended up being more like $20. thanks for bearing with me if you read all this ✌️

So I have been seeing interesting discussion on the endings of Gabriel. The miraculous movie vs The season 5 finale ending.

-And the criticisms for the movie ending are valid, Marinette/Ladybug’s conflict is a lot less personal (cause time constraints)

-Gabriel technically defeated himself

-There wasn’t enough build up for the climax to feel satisfying unless you knew the show.

-Marinette’s personal involvement felt minimal to nonexistent. (She never met Gabriel)

-The powers are inconsistent

The wrap up was too quick

And these are legitimate criticism, especially because we never have Marinette interact with Gabriel once. Something that should have happened.

I can understand how that ending could feel unsatisfying.

Then we have the season 5 finale, which has the opposite problem

-It involves Marinette so much that Adrien is completely sidelined as a response.

-Gabriel ‘Wins’ but according to the writers he lost. (I saw the commentary. I vehemently disagree with there interpretation)

-Adrien never finds out about any of this

-Lila feels shoehorned in as the season 6 badguy

So I thought about both sides more, rewatched the S5 finale and the ending with these new perspectives and… I still prefer the movie ending more than the finale.

But why is that? Objectively speaking The movie is much more flawed and has very littler personal investment of Ladybug vs Hawkmoth. Something that movies don’t often do.

While The show has built up this personal conflict between Gabriel/monarch and Marinette/ladybug

By all logic I Should prefer the show ending.

But I don’t, and it’s precisely BECAUSE of the reasons I listed.

Movie! Marinette’s lack of personal connection to fighting Gabriel allowed me to focus on Gabriel’s motive and his interaction with his son. His genuine care of his son being his downfall MADE sense. Marinette was focused on saving her partner than fighting a villain, which the movie showed to be more of the core of the movie. Even foreshadowing the “Save one Life, save the world” line. And it even fits the fairy tale theme ML tries to go for.

Meanwhile the Show’s ending had a really good fight at the core with Marinette and Gabriel clashing. The fight between Monarch and Bug noire is one of the best in the series… BUT it’s because of this conflict that the ending feels so GUT WRENCHINGLY awful. Because it’s just another case of Marinette failing to stop Gabriel from doing what he wanted. Gabriel may have changed his initial wish, but he still basically did what he always did, cease power and leave Marinette to clean up the mess.

Even taking Adrien out of the equation doesn’t help fix the ending. Because Gabriel still did what he wanted. Gabriel gets a statue, he gets to die seen as a hero that he never was. He is seen as a good man. And it leaves Marinette having to let Paris think that. We don’t see Marinette doubting this, we don’t see opposition or even a question on it. It’s Marinette once again doing what she always does, taking on the burden.

Ah but the difference is that ML still has more seasons. This could all be subject to change. People could find out the truth. The wish has consequences.

And that is correct. There are consequences. And do you know who will face those consequences? Marinette. Because she always does. That’s what the show Always does.

The movie ending also has a potential sequel, but at least there, Marinette and Adrien don’t have secrets, Fu is still there, and the weight of reality doesn’t hang on Movie Marinette’s shoulders only.

And I think that’s what it comes down to.

It’s because I love Marinette that I hate how she has to fail after all her efforts and would rather have an ending that has less personal stakes for her if it means she can be better off as opposed to this drama bomb that basically left her back as the one with the weight of reality on her shoulders.

So it's hard to find fics where Alya's a central character, where she has a character arc, focus, development of her own to a significant degree, so I figured I'd rec some fics that Alya fans might appreciate! Excuse me, i got a question regarding something you said in one of your post, how is marinette like chloe is suppose to be according to cannon?

I am not that well versed in miraculous and i was curious about that.

Well one of the ideas of Chloe is that she doesn't work for anything, she's just given everything, and has it so easy because it's all handed to her. (This interpretation flatly ignores any idea of mental/social well being and for a show that doesn't like capitalism it's odd to say that material things means she has 'everything')

Now, Marinette *as a character* isn't like Chloe, at all.

However, Season five gave Marinette accidental wins over every single challenge she was supposed to overcome. Lila, Chloe, Felix, Gabriel, Nathalie, and her love life.

-Lila: Sabrina just decides to switch sides and hands Marinette everything.

-Chloe: Lila, Gabriel and Tomoe all conspire to set Chloe up for a fall.

-Felix: He decides he likes Kagami and just stops being an enemy.

-Gabriel: He gets his wish, she does *not* stop him, but his wish benefits her.

-Nathalie: She gets mad at Gabriel independent of Marinette and does her own thing.

-Her Love Life: Adrien does all the work here. The hand raising, the first steps, confessing first, giving he literally everything so she needs to make no emotional effort. They had to manufacture Derision just to pretend there was something to do.

All of them came without any real work on Marinette's part. The solutions and rewards were just handed to her.

This isn't about Marinette as a person/character. It's about the way the narrative was built for her in season 5.

Marinette deserved to *actually overcome* her problems. That's what a protagonist is supposed to do. It's a reward for growth. You apply that growth for your victory. Marinette never got to do that. She was robbed and in robbing her the narrative made her a 'Chloe'.

Marinette's memories after the wish

A detail from the end of "Re-creation" that just isnt letting me go is that Marinette still calls Monarque, well, MONARQUE towards Su-Han and Alya:

Even though she has very clearly told them where she was as we can gather by her pointing out the double wedding ring (meaning Su-Han and Alya could also know that Adrien is a Sentihuman which... *sigh*...) and having searched the basement:

Meaning she was open with them about the fight having taken place in the Agreste mansion and that Gabriel was involved and yet Marinette is weirdly still calling Gabriel Monarque here.

That is such a loaded detail. It could legit be a whole game-changer about Marinette "keeping" Gabriel's secret because it could straight up mean that Gabriel's wish changed both Adrien's AND Marinette's memories of him.

For all Marinette's words directly imply here she lost here memory of having figured out that Gabriel is Monarque and she thinks of them as two seperate men again. The most likely explaination here would be that Marinette may remember Monarque having crumbled into dust before he could win through Chat Noir's cataclysm from "Destruction"

But still remembers Gabriel Agreste having made the wish in desperation since, honestly, the given circumstances were PERFECT for that.

All the wish had to do is put in to Marinette's head that Gabriel and Tomoe were direct victims of Monarque as for a long time and they had to work with him, or agreed to, to keep their loved ones and lives safe. Gabriel in this case would have been the main victim which the finale pretty much perfectly set up for everyone to believe:

All Marinette has to think is that whatever happened to Emilie Agreste was Monarque's fault and he was pressuring Gabriel into helping him by threatening to do the same with Adrien, which was likely then instead done to Nathalie when she found out about it.

But Adrien would have still remained leverage nr. 1 against Gabriel as his son and same goes for Kagami for Tomoe:

This would be the perfect cover story for why Gabriel and Tomoe created the Alliance rings since parents will do alot to keep their children save and it can even be twisted into "explaining" the way Adrien and Kagami were treated by their parents if it happened under Hawkmoth's direct wrath and threat.

Gabriel himself is not only the only adult member of the Resistance he is also said to have been the person who then filled in Chat Noir's place when Ladybug was partnerless against Monarque when the final battle went down in his home where Emilie was kept to maybe be able to save her life?

This you can genuinely twist into Gabriel then not having been able to live with so much regret for what his involvement has caused that he sacrificed himself by making a wish, which Marinette now would still be remembering like this:

The chain of effect for how suddenly everyone who seperated themselves from Gabriel by now would think of him and Tomoe (Andre for example in "Collusion") would go on and on and ON washing Gabriel's and Tomoe's hands clean while Tomoe continues, who I have no doubt would have kept her memories all together.

I also would say that Lila and Nathalie still have their memories but I also gotta be honest, thats a whole can of worms I have to properly think through. My main point here is Marinette still calling Monarque "Monarque" despite what went down and what she told Su-Han and Alya and the possible implications of that concidering how well the rest of the finale sets up the cover story of Gabriel and Tomoe having been used by Hawkmoth all along by using Adrien and Kagami as leverage against them.

It just works too well and it would fit with how Adrien suddenly had a ALARMING perspective change regarding his father after the wish, which, NO, isnt god damn normal as trauma response jfc.

This would mean that Adrien and Marinette would go through season 6 in the new reality possibly figuring out bit by bit that their memories arent right to get an easier exporation phase for the new reality, and then season 7 has them know again what we left of in the old one.

Or Marinette is straight up lying to everyone now, even to Su-Han and Alya. Who knows at this point? But I truly hope that's not something they will put on Marinette's character even if at this point I wouldnt exactly call it out of character either.

Okay so i just watched the interview of the miraculous ladybug writers about the end of season 5............. and my god I am so annoyed right now....

what do you mean that Gabriel was a hero??? as much as i know about a hero, heroes donot go around destroying cities,fighing teenagers,taking advantage of people's vulnerability. That man physically and mentally tortured his own son for years, Yeeted him across Paris, forced his girlfriend to break up with him by emotionally blackmailing her, seperated his son from the girl he loves, and what not. I understand that he was in grief and sorrow due to his wife's death , ok you can turn into villain due to that but that doesn't give to the right to treat your son like this. So what? By sacrificing himself for the wish HE wanted to make he became a hero? What logic is that? Imagine making a statue of a fucking villain which is taller than the heroes'. And the lady in end of the episode was not Emilie but Amelie wtf huh? You are telling me that all those years of being an insignificant character she still remains insignificant? You want me to believe that the terrorist who destroyed not only Paris but traumatized them of life, destroyed teenagers' lives, enslaved his own son for years is a hero? NOT HAPPENING!!

Also they had planned from the beginning that Chat was not gonna be in the final fight with Hawkmoth... Great you proved that to you his character was useless from the start. You guys have been neglecting the poor boy since the very begging , y'all are just too biased towards ladybug. Why name the show Miraculous: Tales of ladybug and Chat Noir just remove his name from the title at his point. Believe me or not Adrien has much more potential as a main character than Mari. I am not hating on her or anything but my girl just doesn't know how to deal with pressure well, and again it's just the product of poor writing done on her. I just hate how biased they are towards Mari that they tend to turn a blind eye at Adrien at times.but you don't even give him enough screen time even though he is supposed to be the main character along with ladybug.

And about their poorly written character.... let's just take Chloe for example, my girl is the most inconsistent character in the show. Till this day they can't decide whether to make her good or bad. She starts as a bad person, then tries to become good, then turns bad again, also team up with Lila (and just WHY would you do that ) and in the end becomes bad again. Choose between good or bad, she is swinging between being good or bad, settle with one thing for goodness' sake.

Also while we are at it let's talk about the poor writing of the show. They just don't know how to execute ideas. Now they mostly rely on timelines all the time.They just think "Oh this idea seems nice but we don't wanna change the show much, ohh don't worry we'll just make it an alternate timeline!! Problem Solved!!!". This is not the right thing to do . They hype us up by showing us something and then in the end they just reverse the timeline.

And how on earth was it Mari's win? In what sense is it the hero's win if the villain reaches his goal? And let's just not talk about the trauma this all gave Mari. She just carries too much burden on her shoulders... Only she knows that the person they are now calling a hero is actually a villain.

And finally, 8 damn years, it's almost been a decade since the show started and we still ain't got no reveal? C'mon if you can't even let the reveal happen in five season then how much longer it will take to reveal themselves? are you even planning to let the damn reveal happen or will just end the show after I don't know how many more seasons without letting them reveal themselves?

Hi, so I'm writing a 'Lila wins wish but still faces consequences' series called the Wish series. I'm currently working and posting the second story. This Lila anon has been around the first story and I had just assumed it was a normal commenter who thought it'd be funny to claim to be Lila, so I didn't question it when they popped up for the second story. At least until they left the first comment.

It was on a chapter where Lila faced real consequences and was removed from the story by being pulled out of school after hurting Adrien and getting no support. They started to hound to me to answer their question and since it wasn't their first comment on this second story, I was getting tired of the way they worded their comments, so I called them out, which turned out to be a bad idea, as seen in the second comment.

They've even now gone to a completely different fandom story to bother me. Dark Phantom is a My Hero/ Buko no Hero Danny Phantom au fic, has nothing to do with ML. I heard you guys aren't active much but thought you should know this person is still harassing creators. If I had known, I wouldn't of given them attention but here we are.

If anyone is interested in the story, it's a Lukadrien story called A wish for another life and the sequel Wish come true.

wow wow wow!! Man, she is just brutal and cruel. There's no reason to get this nasty about fanfiction.

To put it into perspective, I'm watching a lot of Paternity Court for fun and the people in these shows, fighting over the parentage of their children, aren't as nasty as this anon.

I'll give you the recommendation I give everyone. Just ignore and delete. Do not engage anymore. She'll post over and over for a while, and it will feel like it's not working, but eventually she will give up.

I'm so so sorry that this happened.

So about Lila and Chloe

We are all so used to characters like Chloe getting redeemed. We don't see bullying as a serious thing, as someone that can traumatise someone and have a lasting negative impact on their life. We are used to sympathising with bullies.

We expect a character like Chloe to be redeemed because that's how these characters are treated in stories most of the times. That's why even now there are people claiming the writers hate Chloe because she's not going to have a redemption arc. Because to them Chloe getting a redemption arc was inevitable.

Miraculous however does something I wish a lot more shows would do. Tell the audience that some people can't be redeemed. The points Marinette made were perfect. Chloe has been given a second, a third and a millionth chance by everyone else around her but she refused to change because she's rich and privileged and she thinks everyone else is beneath her.

Lila this season has been 'scolding' Chloe from time to time. She shows her support for Marinette and Ladybug and tells Chloe off and yet from the class's point of view Chloe still somehow listens to her. Lila has actually, unironically done a good job of fooling everyone. So the class electing her as the representative makes sense. Moreover Marinette let her win.

I'm not sure where the story is leading upto but it's clear that all of this is intentional. All of this is being done to prove that Chloe really can't change. If I had to guess I think there is a parallel with Chloe and Gabriel as both of them throw away every opportunity they get to better themselves. So I think the class finally realising that Chloe will never change and that she should not be forgiven is going to be used to make Adrien realise the same is true for his abusive, controlling, manipulative sorry excuse of a human being that is his father.

Any idea why The Show keeps undoing/ending GabrIel victories yet in the Season 5 Finale, GabrIel wins?

Well, according to the grapevine, since the MLB airs in Brazil via Gloob and a lot of kids there whom are part of the intended target audience have parents who are currently in prison and/or have served sentences, the latter likely "requested" the former to make it so his ending was more "digestible" for them/not remind them of their current circumstances - or so I've heard.

(Edit: I've been informed that the whole "Gloob suggested Gabriel not be jailed" rumor is a result of this twitter thread from TA answering a question about Gabriel's fate, where he mentioned Gloob informing him of the above mentioned about Brazillian kids (https://twitter.com/Thomas_Astruc/status/1479946079634399236). According to Brazilian fans, however, this is not the case at all and seems to be the MLB crew "passing the buck" as it were as an attempt at damage control regarding the leaks/reactions over Gabriel's finale fate and are upset they're being blamed for the writing decisions made. While I won't/can't say if TA lied/is being partially truthful on the thread, it's clear the situation's a huge mess and neither Gloob nor the Brazillian MLB fandom are the main perpetrators for whatever choices were made for S5, so do approach the rumors with caution)

But frankly, it was likely mostly because Gabriel is the main villain and they needed to keep him in the driver seat to help ramp up the "will they ever catch him" drama until it was time to hand the wheel over to whoever they picked as successor (i.e Lila in Season 6), especially if we take the claim of everything totally being planned from the get go as is. I think they also just wanted to move on from Gabemoth without having to address all the more uncomfortable "complicated" issues his existence as the main villain have created (what with being Adrien's dad and the magical slavery and what not) - hence they gave him a, quote unquote, "Pyrrhic Victory" that allowed him "punishment" (Not living to see the results of his Wish) while still rewarding him for his crimes "sacrifice" (Getting Emilie back and his image remaining unsullied in both her and Adrien's (and all of Paris's) eyes) and also making it the load-bearing weight of the new utopian Paris so that undoing it or telling Adrien anything about the truth regarding it is out of the question.

After all - only a complete and utter monster would want to undo the paradise Gabriel gave up his life to create for Marinette and everyone, *hint hint*

My night was crappy but this was inspired by the stories I’ve seen where Lila wins and wishes for Adrien’s life. In those stories, their moms stay the same but this time I thought, but what if they didn’t? Apologies if the Lila salt was heavy, it was hard to make her lies be noticed now without slandering her a little. I don’t know, I just worked hard on this and wanted to make sure it was posted. “Adrien, piccolino, time to wake up. We need to meet the headmaster before I go off to work.”

Adrien groaned, rolling his face into the pillow even more, hoping to go back to sleep. He ignored the footsteps and the sound of his door opening and the sound of the lights turning on. He felt a hand ruffling his hair before hearing the sound of his blinds being pulled open. He finally pulled his head away from the pillow and blearily looked at the woman inside his room.

“Come on caro. I told you to go to sleep earlier.”

“But new episode.” He whined, sounding as exhausted as he felt.

The woman shook her head, her loose brown hair shifting on her shoulders. “I’m sure it could have waited.” She approached the bed again, running a hand through Adrien’s blonde hair. “Come on, go get showered and if we have enough time, we can go out for breakfast. I hear croissants are to die for.”

“Ok, mama.”

He watched with green eyes as she walked around the suitcases and boxes in his room, gathering her brown hair into a ponytail. He got up, stumbling himself as he reached the window and looked at the view he had of the park. It was mostly runners or a person feeding the pigeons, but it was pretty. The whole of France was from what he could see. They’d arrive pretty late the night before and had struggled to get their things upstairs as their apartment didn’t have an elevator but thankfully it was only the third floor. After things were moved in and they showered, his mom went straight to bed while he did what his mom warned him not to do and watched the newest episode of Spy X Family.

“I don’t hear movement!”

“I’m coming.”

He showered and changed, pulling on his ripped jeans and stuffing his feet in his boots. His oversized cropped sweater barely brushed the end of his jeans, allowing his formfitting tank underneath to be seen. He didn’t bother brushing his hair, ruffing his fingers through it before sticking a beanie on his head. He picked up his bag, looking at the clear front. His pins on his ita bag hadn’t moved around and the charms were mostly still in place. He looked inside at the old notebooks that had been used almost a week ago at his old school in Italy. He missed it already, only having been back for a few weeks before being sent here, but he only called it a good thing that he hadn’t made many new friends before he left. He hoped he could make friends here. According to his mom, this assignment was going to be for at least 2 years.

He met his mom in what was their attached kitchen. Like most diplomatic placings, the living area was huge, the set furniture home to a few boxes and bags. His mother was flipping through things in a small carry on, putting the documents into one of her clear folders, one Adrien had ordered from Japan as a gift for doing well on an exam he had 2 days to study for.

“The school should have most of this paperwork already, but just to be safe. Maybe we can finally move these things out of this suitcase and into a safer place. I thought you got rid of those boots.”

“I did. And I got new ones.” His mother scowled at him. “These shoes are in at least 3 different outfits.”

Getting out of the house didn’t take long but figuring out the way to school was a bit harder. They only had enough time to stop and pick up croissants before they finally pulled up to school. Another town car was pulling up and letting out a student as he and his mother got out of the car. He glanced at the girl in designer clothes heavily featuring a butterfly and long brown hair, who seemed stunned to see him.

“Oh, caro, finish that quickly so we can go meet the principal.” His mother said, wiping some of the crumbs off the side of his mouth. He noticed the girl seemed upset but she quickly covered it and stormed off. He’d seen other teens at the schools he went to do the same, unwilling to show their emotions. To be honest, he hated it. The idea of not showing who you were, letting people see you at your worst and best? Sure, there were times where it was good to hide it but forever hiding it? No thank you.

Lila watched Adrien enter the classroom behind Mml. Bustier. She couldn’t believe how the once model was dressed, in cropped shirts and boots, his bag displaying pins and charms, but it didn’t matter. She had his life and she knew how this would go.

Waking up in Adrien’s life was a surprise, but it was proof she got what she wanted. The room, the clothes, the house…the absence of the father. She still couldn’t believe how Gabriel was treating his own child. The breakfast of chicken breast and celery, the massively long schedule that was recited for her, needing to book time to see her own father? But it was fine, she’d been Gabriel’s muse before and she managed to yank him in any direction she pleased so it was only a matter of time. Her classmates were acting odd around her. Adrien used to be greeted with welcomes when he walked into the classroom, smiles and general good cheer. Her appearance hadn’t gotten that. A few replies, but most was stares that seemed to go right through her.

She was Lila Agreste. They should be rushing to greet her.

“Everyone, I’d like you to meet your new classmate. Adrien, why don’t you introduce yourself?”

“Hi, I’m Adrien Rossi. I was born and raised in Italy but I move around a lot. Both my parents are diplomates, which makes this my third school of the year? I like anime, cosplay and hanging out with my mom. I hope we can be friends.”

The whole class kindly welcomed him, which made her clench her fists. But it was ok, she’d get her way.

“Mml. Bustier, I’d be happy to give our new student a tour.” She said, standing up.

She felt everyone staring at her, but it wasn’t the good kind that made her stand up taller. It was the same feeling she got when she thought Marinette might actually win in calling her out. But that was crazy.

Mml. Bustier didn’t seem to think so as she stared up at her, much like Mml. Mendeleiev would do to most students. “I don’t think so. Your free period is being spent with Max for studying remember? Your last quiz has your father very disappointed. Nino, would you please show him around?”

“Sure.”

Class was swiftly swept up and started and everything felt wrong. This wasn’t how people treated Adrien, so why were they treating her this way? But it was ok, if she had his life, Adrien had hers, which meant he’d lie. She could call him out and win affection. It was easy.

She had a chance when Literature ended a few minutes early and everyone swarmed Adrien, trying to get to know him.

“Have you been to really amazing places?”

“I mean, I call them amazing, but some wouldn’t think London for 2 weeks is amazing and the month in Scotland after that. But I enjoyed every minute of it.”

“What was your favourite part about it?”

“Food and cosplay locations. Some of my best pictures were in random places I found, though I do love a lot of the ones in Italy when we were back or visiting family.”

“You must have a really popular Instagram then. I mean, you must have access to meeting so many celebrities.”

“Not really. I’ve only met a few C list celebs, who came to benefits. But that was just in passing mostly. My mom doesn’t want me taking ad deals and such while I’m still in school and I agree. My life is pretty quiet, minus the moving. It’s only gotten more hectic recently but it’s never been anywhere extravagant. I guess I rubbed elbows with a few elite kids, but they didn’t want anything to do with me, so it didn’t matter.”

Wait, what? Where were the embellished tales? Talks of fabulous places to live, people who wanted to be near, perfect life?

“I’ve never seen you at a benefit. Must not be to high up on the ladder.” The words came out her mouth without thinking.

“What benefit would you have gone to? You never left your house until last year.” Alya stated, staring her down.

“My father stopped inviting yours after all those rejects.” Chloe, who was still sitting in her seat, spoke.

“Just watch, another lie for the media to rip into.” She heard Kim whisper.

Media? what did...She was in the media. A media who chased and exposed Adrien’s location. A media that posted his every word. Marinette might of used the media to try and pull apart her lies but no one higher ever called her out about it. But if she was in the media all the time like she’d be now, her every word, her every lie would be scrutinized.

“Well, your mother doesn’t love you!”

The class exploded, all yelling at her before Adrien stood up, glaring at her. He looked at her like that once, but this felt worse.

“I don’t know who the hell you are, nor do I care but watch your mouth about my mother. My mom happily spends time with me and makes sure I know how much she cares. Just because you’re so clearly starved for love, doesn’t mean you get to take it out on me. Grow the fuck up.” He turned to Nino. “Why don’t you show me around now?”

“Gladly!”

Adrien wasn’t one to just yell at a person, but this random girl told him his mother didn’t love him. Who did she think she was?

“What is her deal?”

“That was Lila Agreste.”

“Agreste? Like Gabriel Agretse, the fashion designer?”

Nino nodded. “You’ve heard about how he’s a recluse right? Well, Lila started school for the first time last year. We got pretty star struck when we met her for the first time. Should have realised something was up when Chloe, daughter of the mayor and never lets anyone forget it, didn’t like her. Lila kept telling us all these things, making all these promises to us but thing is, when we started talking about it to other people, word got around and the truth started coming out. She’s really good at lying and manipulating people. Once we realised what she does, we stopped believing what she said. Marinette, the Asian girl sitting behind you? she tried welcoming Lila, but she was just beyond help. Ignore anything she says. It’s a miracle she hasn’t been pulled from school with all the scandals she’s caused.”

“Well, she doesn’t matter. So, my mom works a lot. It sucks yeah, but she still checks in with me and I know she loves me.”

“Well, her mom did disappear 2 years ago.”

“And that’s sad, truly it is, but that doesn’t give her the right to act like that. My parents are divorced and you don’t see me attacking people with married parents.”

Adrien decided to put Lila out of his mind. She just seemed to be a spoiled rich girl and he had practise with those.

“Hey, any chance you know of the best Italian places to eat?”

“You want to Italian for lunch?” Nino asked, looking a bit confused.

“No, my mom and I have this tradition that whenever we move to a new place, we find the best Italian place. We judge it on how good the pizza and cannolis are.” Adrien said, nearly bouncing as they went down the steps.

“Well, I’m usually fine with whatever, but if you want a real expert opinion, we can ask Alya. Her mom is a chef at the most premier hotel in France. But first, the tour!”

By the time the tour was over, lunch had started so Nino dragged him to cafeteria, bringing him over to sit with Alya and Marinette. He waved to his other classmates and watched Lila storming into the cafeteria, Max following after looking annoyed and exhausted. He guessed the tutoring session didn’t go well.

“Hey Alya, does your mom have suggestions for Italian places? Adrien and his mom wanted to know.” Nino asked, while Adrien pulled his sweater off, pulling his beanie back down, seeming to not see the blush on Marinette’s face.

“I can ask her. You know, Marinette had a question about your cosplays. She’s a designer.”

“Oh really? That’s amazing. My skills are pretty basic. I’ve been tempted to do Hawks from Boku no Hero Academia, but trying to figure out how to do wings seems nearly impossible.”

“Oh, I’ve never gotten to do anything like that. But I’d be happy to help. Do you have pictures?” Marinette asked.

Adrien pulled up his cosplay Instagram, handing his phone over, not questioning when Alya switched between his food and personal Instagram as well.

“I know you say your life is pretty normal, but these look amazing.” Alya said, swiping through the pictures of food, landscapes and Adrien in both elaborate and simple costumes.

“I just look for the positives, I guess. You guys will have to show me your favourite spots.”

“How about in exchange for 3 of the best Italian places, as suggested to by my mom, you let me do an interview on my blog? It’s mostly focused on the heroes but after meeting Lila, surprisingly, I’ve realised it does a reporter good to have a broader reach.” Alya stated.

“Right, who are the heroes? My mom is here mostly because of this ‘supervillain’ that’s appeared, mostly to off assistance and advice but I’m a bit vague on the details.”

Alya brightened up, using Adrien’s phone to bring up her blog and handed it to him, leaning over the table so she could scroll for him.

“Scarlet Bug and Catseye, two themed heroes who appeared out of nowhere, just around the same time akumas did.”

“Demons?” seeing the confused look, Adrien explained, “Akuma is a Japanese spirit, also known as a demon. They show up a fair amount in anime, usually fantasy or magical.”

“I’m gonna ask you more on that later, but these akumas are purple butterflies. In fact, Ivan had been the first victim. They go for people experiencing high negative emotions. We don’t know how Hawkmoth, the guy controlling them, chooses the person, just that it can happen at any time. Scarlet Bug and Catseye showed up at the same time and where able to both defeat Ivan and help him turn back but also cleansed the akuma so it was just a normal butterfly.”

“Most of our class has been akumatized already.” Nino reminded. “we’ve been called the Miracuclass, since the items the heroes turn with is called the Miraculous. Hawkmoth wants them for some reason. That’s always what the akumas ask for when fighting them.”

“You know, Lila pretended that she knew the two of them, but they went on record saying they didn’t, saying the couldn’t been seen as familiar friends with civilians, even famous ones.”

Adrien leaned over, looking past Alya to where Lila was sitting, alone. He felt sorry for her, but seeing what she’d been doing and hearing what she’d been saying, it didn’t stay that way for long.

“Are they at least cool?”

“The coolest! I have this theory that they might be related to each other just because of how they act towards each other. Reminds me of me and my siblings.”

“Alya is still learning to not go running into fights for footage. She’s gotten scolded but has yet to listen.” Marinette said.

“Will you shush? Trust me, if your mom ever meets them, she’ll know they’re a major help to France.”

“I’ll make sure to mention it to her. And I’ll ask about the interview, mom is pretty insistent I don’t get into any sort of ads or media she doesn’t agree with. She only agreed to the Instagram since I don’t show my face in the food one and I’m in costume on my cosplay one.”

“Fair enough, now about those food suggestions.”

Oh son of a... I'm trying to sleep here brain!

Anyway. I just got a brainwave about Felix and how he could possibly go from the evil little psycho we saw in Felix, to the same type of traitorous Psycho in Strike Back, to what is more or less a decent antihero in emotion and Pretension. I think Ive figured it out. He's not changing sides or becoming nicer, he's relaxing. What do I mean?

Well let's look at his first appearance? He's cold, insults all of Adrien's friends and is willing to side with HawkMoth over a piece of jewellery. Something everyone just thought to be the ring his mother wanted at the time, which seriously? Lady has some guts demanding he hand over his wedding ring a year after she thought her sister died. However you look back with the assumption that he knows about the peacock miraculous at this time? Then that's clearly what he's after. It makes a lot more sense too since we see how easy it is for him to just steal the ring right of Gabriel's finger.

So what's the deal with him and Adrien's friends? Initially you could see it as him being like Lila and seeking to cut his cousin off from everyone but if you consider how rude he is to Chloe? I think his actual reasoning becomes a bit clearer. Felix cares about his cousin that much we know, he's willing to undo his first win against Gabriel and Ladybug simply because Adrien is upset at him. He wants his cousin to be happy but Felix's methods are just a little too extreme. So, in order to make sure Adrien isnt being used by any of his other friends like he's being used as a sentimonster, Felix yells at them. Anyone who ditches Adrien clearly wasn't really a friend and anyone who stays is worthy to remain in his perfect world.

This is where the next part of Felix's overall plan needs explaining and, if I'm in anyway right? Is actually kind of genius. So really quickly let's go through Felix's goals again okay? Goal one, make sure no sentimonsters can be used and abused. Goal two, make sure neither his or Adrien's life is in danger from another holder of the peacock, goal three, make sure Adrien, and later Kagami, are not held prisoner by someone holding their amok. Now the first two can be solved pretty easily by getting his hands on the Miraculous which he tries and eventually accomplishes on his third attempt. His last goal? Can only succeed if Kagami and Adrien hold their own amok or if the people who do have it are no longer a problem. We saw this in emotion. But if the sad and indignant teen we saw at the end of Emotion and beginning of pretension is the real Felix then why was he so cold and distant to begin with?

I think there are two potential answers for this. The first is that he didn't want any distractions while trying to complete his mission so he just brushed everyone off. The second? I think shows just how much like Gabriel Felix is. I think he always planned to get rid of his, whether through the wish or by his own hands. Likewise I think he always intended to make a world where him and his cousin could be free. It wouldn't matter at that point if Adrien was happy with Felix or not, so long as Adrien was actually happy. But I'll come back to this in a bit.

Next we have the betrayal of ladybug, something that, in retrospect, wasn't entirely necessary. As Flairmiddable he offered Gabriel the ring and the rest of the Miraculous for the Peacock. He hands over the ring and receives the peacock before he uses the power of the dog to fetch the yoyo. At that point he could have fled, there was no reason to hold up his end of the bargain anymore and Felix seems like the type who would go back on his word if necessary. However, here's where I think the genius comes in. In handing over the Miraculous Felix guarantees two things. The first is that Gabriel will have so much power that he wont need the peacock and instead will refocus on Ladybug and Chat Noir. The second thing? He keeps Ladybug and Chat Noir desperate to get the miraculous back and unable to dedicate to much time to him. With one move he gets his enemies to focus solely on each other and leave him alone to plan. He makes himself the lesser threat.

This brings us back to emotion and we see the finale of Felix's plan play out. Yes he wanted to make a wish using the miraculous but it wasn't essential. He'd already succeeded in wiping out everyone who may have been an obstacle. Plus he knows about Gabriel's hideout. Who's to say he didn't plan on going to retrieve the other miraculous once Adrien and Kagami warmed up to the idea? If he thought he'd only need a month before he could get them back then I can understand why he'd give them up in the first place, the ends justify the means and all that. Just like how Gabriel thinks.

However, as we all saw, Felix realised something in emotion. Even if he had been able to bring Marinette Adrien would still be upset with him, even if he explained everything. That's when Felix understands, he may have been alright getting what he wanted at any cost, freeing Adrien by wiping out all who would use him, but because if that cost, what he wants won't happen. What's the point in making Adrien happy by cleansing the world if doing so is guaranteed to make Adrien miserable? So he does what Gabriel should have done in Evolution. He steps back, gives up on what he strove so hard for, and undoes all the damage he caused.

After that, and seeing what Marinette was willing to do for Adrien, I think Felix switches gears. He believes Adrien will be safe, happy and brave with Marinette by his side, so he follows after the other sentichild that seems to be struggling with that a bit more. To... Mixed results.

So I've watched all the English Dubbed Miraculous Ladybug episodes: 1-18.

One: I'm pissed that Alya still hasn't realized how shitty Lila is. (I mean surely with Marinette being Ladybug and Alya knowing that, the girl would have put some points together. Though I guess Alya just makes me salty because I was a reporter student/literally went to college for three years for studying journalism and she just... Anyway I have to remember she's still a kid. But also not the best friend because best friends are meant to be ride or die and if one has vibes about a person, we all feel vibes about the person.)

Two: Chloe could have had a redemption arc. She could have. She and Zoe could have been incredible power siblings. We coulda had it all.

Three: Lila reminds me of someone from my real life and I wish i could throttle her. (Legally can I? Because ive seen spoilers say that she's not even really named Lila and her mom is one of like 3 moms. So I'm wondering if she's like those people who look really young but are actually 30 and posing as teens for a con. If thats the case, legally i could throttle her.)

Four: I hated the episode of Derision. I hated the trauma porn it was. I hated how it triggered shit in me from my own high school experiences.

Five: Gabriel just shut up and die already. Even Nathalie is tired of your shit. She's probably literally counting down the days until she's dead so she never has to deal with your bullshit again. (Or she's counting how long it'll take her to snap and kill you herself before the cataclysm does.)

Six: Kagami don't trust the evil teen who is potentially a disguised adult conning people. You deserve better than her. She's a total liar and you're awesome.

Seven: I love Zoe. My baby gay.

Eight: Plagg, use your kwami senses to find the other kwami and then sneak into Gabriel's room to finish what you started. Itll be fine. Adrien will recover.

Nine: Felix! My beloved. I wanted him to win. Why couldn't he bring everyone except Gabriel back and then explain everything to Adrien while Gabriel is "gone". Then he and his mom could move into the manor, adrien have his freedom and save the kwamis, and potentially Emilie. Please?

Ten: I loved Argos. I love the idea of not being tied to certain things while being a miraculous holder. (I wish we could've seen his relationship with Dusuu, but it seemed like they were on good terms.)

(I wanna see Adrien go batshit as Chat Noir when it all comes out. Have his own little "villain" descent with a song like Felix did. Like yes please.)

Gale Talks: Outcomes of ML Season 5

So if you haven’t seen the Season 5 finale of Miraculous Ladybug. This is your warning.

Spoilers will be discussed. You have been warned.

Gabriel wins and gets his wish.

Now before anyone says “But he doesn’t get the wish he wanted. So it’s not a real victory” or “This is all set up for season 6 so it could get undone.”

I’m gonna be real clear.

Gabriel made his wish on Gimmi, and Gimmi “Read his heart and Soul” so he Gimmi is granting his wish. And he’s dead. He is dead and seen as a hero. So he definitely got the wish he wanted to make.

As for the second part.

I would LOVE for it to be undone, but even if it gets undone, doesn’t really matter. Gabriel does vindicated. He’s no longer there to take any consequences. He died vindicated, unless they show he’s in hell or something and watching it all. But I doubt they will.

Now that I got that out of the way, I’m here to talk about what each of those outcomes/wish That Gabriel made. And what is the best outcome.

1. Gabriel used his wish to heal Nathalie.

That being the only change, it is the simplest of the possible outcomes and in a way has Gabriel getting the least amount of win out of the situation.

However, it does have Marinette, Nathalie and a few others covering up the fact that Gabriel was evil, hiding it from Adrien, and likely Chat noir. (The later of which has no reason of not knowing. Because they don’t know eachother’s identities)

It makes Marinette look the worst because it basically tosses out everything season 4 and most of season 5 did in building up how important chat noir is to the team.

2. Gabriel wished that Nathalie never used the Peacock miraculous, and used his life to bring back Emilie.

This way he ensures Nathalie never gets sick and it alters things so Emilie could be the one brought back with his life force. This would explain if Emilie was brought back. But this would make Gabriel’s win more Final and more evident.

Still has the same problems as the first solution as it makes everyone look worse for being an accomplice. In a way it makes the most reasonable sense but with more character assassination

3. Gabriel wished for Nathalie brought back, and for everyone he knew that knew his true colors to remember him differently.

This gives Gabriel a clear win, as it has him still being viewed as a hero, but it at least makes it so Marinette and the others in Adrien’s life aren’t purposefully lying to him. The wish just manipulated them into doing that. So Marinette not telling chat noir would be cause the wish interfered.

4. Gabriel brought back Emile, wished Nathalie never used the peacock miraculous, AND altered the memories.

This is the most Gabriel win of the four, but it also takes away any blame that could be placed on the others for not telling Adrien what really happened, and explains why Adrien doesn’t hate his father life he did in representation.

5. Gabriel wished he was the one that created Adrien with the peacock.

Now this sounds like a weird choice, but by doing this, he makes it so Emilie and Nathalie are alive, he would also change things so much that he would be remembered fondly, and also why there is no iconography of Emilie in the mansion anymore. The change would also shift things so much and the consequence of the wish would be that Lila/Cerise would have the miraculous.

Marinette not explaining what really happened because even SHE’s not sure. It would still technically be a win for Gabriel, but it changes so much that maybe he wouldn’t even have been monarch in that timeline

Chapter 28

Hey, I wanted this all to be out last week, but it took a while to write it like I wanted it to be, hard to get the words on the screen ya know, but my new system is working and I like it.   Sooooo, I’m going to be putting up my first poll once the new month rolls around, it’s about my Pokemon story.   And about this one, I see at most two more chapters for this one, then we begin the first of a seven-part saga, and I’ve been thinking about making an ‘Extended Edition’ of this one, just a few ideas in my mind.  So sit back and let’s see what happens next here!

 So it’s here first and on FF AO3 by 8PM today, hope every buddy had a great Thanksgiving!

  As Enhancetress giggled evilly Shadowmoth looked at her and smirked.   “So then Rodger saw everything then?”  

 “Yes, and a freelance reporter got everything on film!  With him added in, the plan will work perfectly Lord Shadowmoth,” Enhancetress purred and Shadowmoth grinned as he felt excitement burst out of him.  After all his failed plans, this was working!   Was this what the heroes felt when they won?

 “Perfect my dear.  I think your idea was right, we do see better results when they don’t fight the transformation.   Let this be a new beginning for us,” Shadowmoth said as he grinned, ideas forming being his eyes.  “For too long I looked only to what I was able to gather from that book.   Let us look to other means, other ways.   And we only looked at one source, perhaps we can find another way.”  

 He didn’t know what could work, but the fact that he had been so obsessed with the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculous, that might have been the only reason that his wife was still lost to them.   He had tried to craft stronger Champions, and how he had Lila do so much to make Marinette fall and become his masterpiece!   He had a lot of respect for the girl, she was creative, caring, and had a nice reputation.   But that creativity……. If he could make her his Champion then he knew beyond a doubt that she would have won with an army behind her, hence the mass attack.

 He hated to admit it, but his planning ability wasn’t even a faction of Marinette’s, that was why he had decided to use Lila to try and get Marinette to feel a strong enough negative emotion to let one of his Akuma take control of her, to use her abilities for his goal.   But he wasn't heartless, he planned to reward her if she defeated the heroes, and returned to the school even if she failed.  But after Nooroo had told them everything about the wish and the price for it, he was glad he had failed.  

 But then there was the way things had spiraled out of control, and all because of Lila!  He scowled as he thought of what that fool had done.   After the attack failed because Nathalie was sick, he had planned to honor his contract with Lila, since “he” had no other knowledge about what Lila had done and why, since all he wanted was an ‘unbiased’ view of his son’s school life.   But then the little twit had lied about how his civilian persona had ordered Marinette’s expulsion, he admitted that Lila’s plan to get Adrien to think he had ordered everything that happened to Marinette so Adrien would ‘play ball’ with her was insulting, but then Adrien had exploded and this restraining order after he had run away…….. nothing had turned out like he thought it would and he could only hope that he could pull off a win in the end, and with their new direction and goals the end game might have been different, but it was there for them to take.

 While Shadowmoth had his internal revelation Enhancetress was having her own, and after a few moments decided to bring up what she had just realized.

 “Of course, and I wonder if we should reach out to other possible pawns, non-magical ones,” Enhanctress suggested and Shadowmoth looked at her and grinned as he started to see her point and the possibilities that they had ignored for so long.  

 “Yes, that might work.   Alone we have failed so much, but only because we’ve been working with the same power as our foes!   We can find a few gangs and empower them, send them against more civilian targets and then from there, make a war chest,” Shadowmoth commented and Enhanctress nodded with a grin.  I mean what was I thinking?  With all, I’ve done all I didn’t do was turn to crime, and with everything they’ll charge me with if they ever catch me, why not go for broke?  And with the Seven in my city, I just need to reach out and take it all.  He thought as he grinned as he let his imagination run wild with the possibilities before him.

 “A wise move, I’ll have a list of people we can use and targets later today,” Enhanctress said with a sly tone to her voice as Shadowmoth nodded.

 Her past had shown her that such people were necessary to get some work done in the wilder parts of the world, and looking back it was stupid of them not to have reached out to that kind of people, there were so many other possibilities to look into that they hadn’t even considered before!

 Had they been so fixated on the Miraculous, so sure of what they had deduced based on their research that they ignored all the other possibilities?   A doctor who knew about Magic could have found out what was wrong with Emile so much sooner, but they were so sure that the only way to save her was to get those two Miraculous, but then breaking the spells on Duusu and what they learned!   The only way forward was to move and do things that weren’t what they had done before, all they needed to do was keep trying and eventually they would have a win!  

 Ehancetress smiled as she got off her stool and curtsied to Shadowmoth.  “Lord Shadowmoth, might I trouble you for passage to our secondary site?”

 “With the power that the Miraculous of Emotion has granted us, that is but a trivial matter,” Shadowmoth said as he summoned a feather and put it into his staff.   As the purple blob formed next to him, Enhancetress grinned under her veil.

 “I’ll go and prepare the next stage my lord, good luck making it look real,” she said and Shadowmoth just laughed as he shook his head.

 “I did marry an actress my dear, I’ll be fine.  I have gotten some experience in directing our Champions.   And these two can’t be worse than the divas I’ve had to deal with,” He said as his Sentimonster finished forming.

 As Thunder Lord looked at her, Salacia looked around and tried to figure out if there was any way that she could get away.   She pressed one of her legs into the roof and glared at Thunder Lord.  “You think I’ll give her to you?”

 “No, but I hoped you would see reason, but then your kind rarely do,” Thunder Lord said softly and shook his head.    “Well, I guess I’ll just have to take it by force then.   So your answer then my dear?”

 Salacia just took a stance and readied herself as Thunder Lord shook his head releasing a sigh.  

 “I suppose I expected this, really I did.   But then I had hoped the time you’ve had that little god wouldn’t have let you bond, but then I suppose I was expecting less from you than I would have from myself if I’m honest about all this,” Thunder Lord said dramatically and looked at Salacia and sighed again as he shook his head.   “How do you want to die then?”

 Without a word, Salacia threw herself to the side moments before another Lancer appeared and attacked the place she was standing.  As the two Blaster Legions fired at her she didn’t even wait until she landed, as she was horizontal with the roof and away from it by inches she shot out her arms and pushed off the roof, somersaulting into the air and spinning to the right dodging the blasts as she threw herself off the roof.  

 Thunder Lord watched with a bit of shock on his face and started to laugh.   “Well done!  Perhaps I won’t let her go after all.  A few weeks of conditioning and I’d have a good warrior for one of the other jewels I have!   And she might be cute under that mask.”  

 The Lancers chittered at him and he looked at them for a few moments.  “Well, go get her, alive please!”

 The Legions all roared and ran, jumping off the roof to chase down Salacia as Thunder Lord drew his sword with one hand and reached for the hilt with his other.

 Below Salacia ran, going away from where the people and the Akumatized villain was, hopefully, she would be able to handle this without going there, letting the others handle the other problems without adding this to it.   She ran on as blasts from the Blasters fired down at her as the Legions and Thunder Lord chased after her above on the roofs.

 As she reached a park she smiled as she knew that the space would let her try and handle the monsters one by one, hopefully, she could get a Blaster or one of the Lancers with her power and have them cover her back as she escaped.  Looking over her shoulder she saw two Lancers ahead of the pack with the Blasters staying back.   She looked around and noticed a tree ahead of her, dashing at it she jumped at it and somersaulted, landing against the tree she pushed off and spun in the air and punched out at the Lancer’s spear as they tried to strike her as she passed over their heads.  

 Running at the Blasters she dodged their attacks and sent a savage blow against one of them, cracking its head as it screeched in pain as it fell, bleeding from the ruin of one of its eyes.  As she dodged to the right as the Lancers caught up and attacked her, she smiled as she saw that the maimed Blaster looked like it was dying.  She felt a small amount of pride, she had taken one down on her own, but there were so many more to go.

 As one of the Lancers charged at her, she landed and pushed its lance aside with her right arm as it tried to attack her, then she punched with her left arm and it moved backward for a moment, stunned but that was all she needed to do as she jumped and did a spin kick and tore off its head!

 As the dead body of the Legion crumbled to the ground, Salacia looked at the other Legions as they stood there growling at her.    Her Kwami had told her that they were just large insects with larger versions of the same organs regular bugs had so she didn’t feel too bad about this, but they were still alive and they might have a small sense of loyalty to their broodmates.

 As the last Lancer stood there protecting the lone Blaster the sounds of an incoming energy blast caused her to jump to the right in a lunge that made her horizontal for a moment.  

 As she landed in a roll a roar from two more Legion Slashers charged at her.   She jumped up and in the air she prepared to attack them as soon as she landed when suddenly the Slashers were both lassoed by a red yoyo!   As soon as that happened they were pulled into the air and a spin by Ladybug before being thrown at the remaining Lancer!  

 As Salacia landed she saw Ladybug was suddenly there, smiling at her as Miss Hound took a defensive stance before them.

 “Thanks, Ladybug!” Salacia said and Ladybug grinned back.   “How’d you find me?”

 “We were on patrol when we saw these things chase you, where’s that girl from last time?” Miss Hound asked as she looked at the monster

 “She’s not here, it’s……” Salacia began only for loud clapping to sound.

 “ME!  So this is the famed Ladybug?   My my, your photos don’t do you justice my dear!   And who is this canine beauty?” Thunder Lord’s voice came from behind them.   The heroes whirled around and saw Thunder Lord looking at them with four more Lancers guarding him.   “And you handled the Lancers so well, that Lusty wrench will be so disappointed that her works were done away with so easily.  Oh wait, where are my manners?  I am currently Thunder Lord, leader of those who call ourselves the Seven Deadly Sins!”

 Ladybug looked at Thunder Lord and let her eyes roam over his body, trying to find anything that might let her figure out was his Miraculous.  ”So the woman with the scythe, she was under your command?   And what does a life-taker want in my city?”

 “Life harvester as I told you friend behind you both.   My works only gather the leftover life energy that people release after they die violently,” Thunder Lord said and he grinned at her.   “I wonder my dear, what a few hundred years of experience with that Artifact would do for you, want to find out?”  

 Miss Hound was doing the same thing as both noticed something on his right leg that drew her eye and she wondered if was it, thankfully Thunder Lord hadn’t noticed her eyes, he had looked right at Ladybug and kept his attention on her.

 Ladybug looked at him and clenched her yoyo as she glared at him, keeping an eye out for anything else as she kept her focus on him and his monsters.   So far his team seemed not as bad as Hawkmoth, they had only fought the heroes and used monsters, not civilians as the ‘villain of the day’ as he does.

 Thunder Lord only looked at Ladybug and he could barely keep a smile from his lips.  The girl was as strong as he hoped but her magic, it was there under the locks of the Order just waiting to burst free.   He had to admit that Hawkmoth’s campaign was a good thing if it led to her being given a Miraculous before one of those things found her and claimed her.  The death and carnage such a corrupted birth her power would have resulted in, that was almost unthinkable.

 Salacia looked around covertly; so far the two Lancers and Blaster were just staying where they had been thrown to the ground.  How did Thunder Lord and Nekhbet control them?  Bolla didn’t know much about the magic the Legions were created by, but she had said that golems needed an artifact to let others control them.   So by that logic then, Thunder Lord had to have something that let him work his will on them, and he had to have it on him, if they could get it away from him then maybe they could escape.

 “You offering to share your stolen lives?” Ladybug asked and Thunder Lord shrugged.

 “The wars on this continent would have been so much worse if I hadn’t gathered the life force of those who passed on my dear, truly it would have.   But ask those little ones of yours about the Elementals and watch them clam up, like all the Kwami the self-named Guardians took,” Thunder Lord said Ladybug went still as she tried and failed to hide her surprise.

 “I have no idea what you’re talking about,” Ladybug said as she looked at Thunder Lord and hoped that he believed her.  To have another person, even an enemy, confirmation that the Order had cast spells on the Kwami; it was something.   But then his words about how the last two wars might have been worse if they hadn’t taken the stray life force, that was shocking and it only showed that they didn’t know everything there was in the world.   If there was something that they needed to know, then capturing one of Seven’s Kwami and Miraculous to question them was something that they had to do.

 “We gonna keep talking or we gonna do something?” Miss Hound asked as she spun her escrima sticks in her hands and Thunder Lord just sighed and gestured at the three girls, the Legions responded with a roar.

 As two Lancers charged at them, the Blaster and other Lancer behind them fell back as the Blaster fired at them.  

 “Handle range, Miss Hound follow me!” Ladybug called as she moved to attack the charging Lancers, Miss Hound falling in behind her as Salacia ran towards the Blaster.   As the guardian Lancer tried to get at her she spun to the side and lunged at the Blaster, it dodged but she landed and dealt a spin kick that tore off its head.  

 Meanwhile, Ladybug and Miss Hound attacked the two Lancers.   Miss Hound blocked her foes with her right stick before piercing the Lancer’s left eye.   As it fell back with a screech she punched through its throat and as it wheezed to death as it fell she grinned and moved to help Ladybug.

 Ladybug had made sure to keep the lance away from her with her spinning yoyo as she tanked the blows from the Lancer with it and kept moving backwards until Miss Hound was there and killed it from behind.

 As one the two heroines nodded to each other they charged at the Lancer fighting Salacia and within moments it was dead on the ground and then the three stood together glaring at Thunder Lord who watch with a stage look on his face.

 “Well done, but then I can do this!” He called out as he threw two large fleshy eggs into the air, as they reached the top of its arc, they glowed black and broke apart, each one releasing four energy stars that shot out and hit the ground, revealing eight Slashers.   As the two Lancers moved forwards slowly toward the heroines' as Thunder Lord just laughed as he looked at the girls.  

 “Did you two think that three of you would be able to run in and win without a plan? I mean really! Two Rookies and a semi-experienced Wielder?” Thunder Lord asked and Ladybug grinned.

 “You forgot the other semi-experienced Wielders on our team,” Ladybug said and Thnderloord look at her before he went still and fell forward.  

 As he fell behind him a portal was revealed, Apisera grinning as she held her top and from her stance, she had stung his back. Apisera grinned at them as she stepped from the portal with Pegasus.

 “We can’t run in without a plan, so ideas?” Ladybug asked the others as they ran after Thunder Lord, Miss Hound leading the way.

 “I’ve got one, it might work……… but you’ll be alone with….. Salacia,” Pegasus began, causing the others to look at him as he continued.  “I’ll go with both Miss Hound and Apisera, we’ll move along the rooftops until I have line of sight on the battle.  You meanwhile backup Salacia fight off the monsters.  Then I create a portal behind him, he’s stung and then we’ll take his Miraculous and whatever he’s using to control those things.”

 “No, I’ll go with Ladybug, it looks like it’ll take more than two heroes to handle them,” Miss Hound said and the others looked at her.

 “You sure about that?” Ladybug asked and Miss Hound nodded.

 “Yes, I need to be better, so yes,” Miss Hound said and Apisera looked at her oldest friend and smiled.

 “Well, that worked great!” Apisera said with an edge to her voice as the Legions went still.

 However a moment later the Legions roared and four Slashers and Lancer charged at Ladybug, Miss Hound and Salicia while the rest charged at Apisera and Pegasus.

 “Quick, grab the items with magic and throw them through the portal!” Apisera called out as she put herself between the Legions and Pegasus.

“Try around his feet for the Miraculous!”  Ladybug called out before dodging a blow and throwing her yoyo around the neck of a Lancer that tried to attack the others.  

 As Asperia punched the Lancer, Pegasus felt around Thunder Lord’s feet and found something that he felt around and found a clip that let him remove it.   He pulled away a small grey circle as the bodysuit of Thunder Lord started to change, the yellow becoming ruby with black streaks that went to the sides.  

 “He has two Miraculous?!” Pegasus stammered as he stared at the transformed wielder before the roar of charging Legions made him jump backwards as he clutched it.  A ball of light formed and be a green chibi Kwami.

 The new Kwami had a yellow body, two antennae above large blue eyes on an oversized head and four single limbs on a small humanoid body with a small light from its behind and two short insect wings on its back.  

“You freed me!   No, he’s still alive?!   His power lets him make an explosion! Dodge his Wraith Bolts if you want to live!” The Kwami screeched in a feminine tone.  

 Pegasus looked from the Legions to the Kwami, his mind going at lightning speed as he tried to figure out what to do before he nodded, coming to the only decision that he could make. He held his hand with the Miraculous towards the Kwami and opened it.  “Take it and go!   Stay safe!”

 The Kwami looked from Pegasus to the Miraculous and nodded with a small smile.   “Thank you!”

 The Kwami flew away and one of the Slashers roared and lunged for the Miraculous but Pegasus intercepted it and with a few blows he killed it.  As the depowered Thunder Lord roared and jumped to his feet he looked around, finally spotting the Kwami flying away with its Miraculous clutched tightly to its body.   Looked around he saw the heroes in combat.   He zeroed in on Pegasus and he saw red as he roared, drawing his sword and charged at him.

 Looking up Pegasus saw Thunder Lord charging at him, he dodged the blows as the others dealt with the Legions, however, a beeping told him that his transformation as a hero was almost done for now.  

 “You worm!  Do you know what I had to do to take that power from the fools who held it?!   The chaos I had to engineer to even find out who had it!?  With that power, I was able to do so much, much that is now gone!” Thunder Lord spat as he locked blades with Pegasus.    

 “So I what, stopped your ability to use lives?” Pegasus asked and Thunder Lord laughed and shook his head as he glared at the hero.  

 “No, all you did was keep me from killing things and then leaving their bodies intact, now my rage has returned to those who earn my wraith,” Thunder Lord said before a yoyo wrapped around his arms.   They looked to see Salacia, Ladybug, Miss Hound and Asperia ready to attack Thunder Lord and

 “If I’m right we took your thunder, so what?  You still call yourself Lord or something like that?” Asperia asked with a smirk and Thunder Lord laughed.

 “No, for now and forever I am Wraith Lord!  And you will feel this drake’s fury!  Wraith Bolt!” The self-named Wraith Lord cried as he pointed his sword at the heroes and a beach ball-sized energy ball formed at the tip before it shot at them. They dodged but it hit one of the Legion that got back to its feet, setting off a large explosion.

 As the police and Heroes moved down the street to get away from the tsunami of Midnight Crew Sentimonsters after them, Chat Noir looked around for anything that might let them turn the tide, let them get ahead.  Viperion had been following after the horde, keeping an eye on the two Villains who followed after their minions, ready to attack when the heroes were occupied with the Midnight Crew.   While they had tried to keep from killing them, the Sentimonsters had done everything but kill themselves, moving into the blows or taunting the police so they would fire at them, then dodge so one behind them would be hit in the head. These tactics had raised the number of Sentimonsters to just below one hundred, but Roi Singe was thinking that something was wrong, but he couldn’t see just what it was.

 “Any change?!” Chat Noir called out and Viperion called back.

 “No, they’re still too protected for me to even think about getting a shot off!   Keep running, should I try Second Chance?!” Viperion asked and Chat Noir cursed.  He saw Arashiko falling back next to him as Carapace helped an officer move faster while Lieutenant Eduardo was carried over Roi Singe’s shoulder.   The good Lieutenant was cursing up a storm, but nothing he said had any value to it at all.  

 “No dude, we need you to stay as you are man!   If something happens we might need you to rock and roll!” Carapace said and looked around for any place that they could use to make a stand!

 Viperion nodded and cursed that he forgot he was alone at the other end of the horde overlooking Dark Owl and Lunar Raven as they hid behind a large France flag Dark Owl had ordered some of the Midnight Crew to use to block the back from anyone seeing them.   Viperion knew he could attack but if he was wrong and the Akuma Item wasn’t where he thought it was then……….  Maybe I can try Second Chance and see what I can learn about them?    Need to run it by the others but it might be the only chance we’ve got to turn it around and pull off a win! Viperion thought as he looked down at the street and tried to judge the best place to try and attack them on his own.

 “Who could have the Akuma?! Can you see anything Viperion?” Arashiko asked and Viperion was about to respond and then a feminine chuckle was heard over their communicators.

 “Neither of them has it heroes, but I’ve got my eyes on them,” A sensual female voice said as the heroes all looked at each other not knowing who was talking to them.

 “Who are you?” Viperion asked and the voice chuckled.

 “Well in honor of the cute Archer-Boy’s question, the names Arachne.   And let’s just say I’ve been watching you all for a while and my little partner recently met Chat-boy’s, so after the problems at the river and park I decided to throw my towel into the ring so to speak.   I’ve heard about the issue that probably caused this from a few sources I’ve got.   And how both were Akuma before, I wanted to be on guard nearby in case of another attack using one of them.  I didn’t expect to see two at once through,” Arachne said and Viperion blushed as he looked around, trying to spot her.

 “Fuck, I forgot the item doesn’t have to be with the Akuma!” Chat Noir’s voice said from over their communicators and Viperion winced as he saw how bad this could get.

 “Yeah and the guard is another separate Akuma, two of the first group of Sentimonsters and one of her own,” Arachne said and Viperion looked down at the throng of Sentimonsters and then at where he thought the two Akumatized villains were.   If they didn’t have the Akuma on them, then they had to go and get it to Ladybug, but they couldn’t let them rampage until they could find the butterfly Akuma!  

 Chat Noir meanwhile thought much as the others did, and he could see a few options to handle this but all of them required Viperion to go off on his own, and that was a problem. He couldn’t see anyway for Arashiko to disengage without letting the enemy know, and then when you add in the question of how Hawkmoth had done this, with the name change he thought Hawkmoth had merged Miraculous, and that just meant that things will be a lot worse in their future, plus then there was the fact that two separate Akuma, this was looking very bad.

 “No choice dudes!” Carapace said and looked at the other heroes with a troubled look. “I’ve been running plans, and I can’t think of anything to let anyone beyond viper-dude leave!”  

 “Me either, we need to stay here and hold the line,” Chat Noir said as Roi Singe and Arashiko both nodded and Chat Noir looked at the horde of Sentimonsters.  

 “Yeah.  Go Viper-bro, we’ll hold the line until you and the others can

“And where are the others?” Arashiko asked before they heard a large explosion from somewhere else in Paris that shocked the Sentimonsters.  

 “I can guess where they are bro,” Roi Singe said dumbly before picking up the pace, the others putting on speed as the Midnight Crew stayed where they were for a few moments, moments that would make all the difference.

 “Viperion, go!”  Chat Noir commanded as he looked at the police and took a deep breath.   “We’ll draw their fire and keep moving until you can get the Akuma and find Ladybug!”

 Rena Rouge stopped and looked from the explosion in the distance to her left and the courthouse to her right.  She had moved towards the courthouse after she transformed and she expected to make it there soon, but she grew worried as the longer she ran, the more time passed that she hadn’t heard from anyone and then there was that explosion that she just heard.   She didn’t dare try and contact anyone either, if they were in combat that might let whoever they were fighting win.    On one hand, she should go help out with the double attack, but on the other the explosion…… people might be hurt or need help.  But a moment later before she could do anything she heard the sounds of something large running nearby.   Ducking behind a chimney, she looked around and saw Dark Kitsune carrying Volpina who had a briefcase in her hands with two Midnight Crew members following behind.   Rena Rouge knew instantly that they were only along as guards.

 As soon as she locked eyes on Lila’s Akuma form, Rena Rouge felt nothing but anger.  With all the revelations that Marinette had given her and then the talk about Adrien’s book, Alya had figured out fast that Lila had been bullying Marinette for a while now and tried to use Alya and their other classmates to isolate her, the incident that caused the hearing just her most explosive yet.    

 But Rena Rouge had seen a briefcase in Volpina’s hands, but one hero against an Akuma plus three Sentimonsters?   She wasn’t suicidal but that just seemed to be too much for one girl alone.  She was about to move when suddenly something covered her mouth and whatever it was pulled her into the shadows.  She started to try and break free before someone spoke next to her right ear.

 “So fox-girl, but I thought one of those things was gonna see you.   If I let you go will you please calm down and talk quietly?” A sensual voice asked and Rena Rouge went still before she nodded before whatever was covering her mouth moved away and released her.

 Rena Rouge shot forward and looked at whoever it was and blinked.   Staring at her was a girl her age with an athletic figure dressed in a grey bodysuit.   Her head was free but a grey eye mask with two pure black coverings over her eyes.  Her hair was jet black and in two buns on the side of her head, and her lips were pitch black.   On her bodysuit above her breasts was a red spider whose legs reached out to both sides, and in her hand was a black gymnastic ribbon.   “Sorry girl, but I couldn’t let you ruin my tracking down that false fox!  And I figured that it would be bad if the little witch over there caught a foxy girl like you!”  

 Rena Rouge blinked and blushed as she looked at the teen before her and she took a moment to shake her head and look at the spider heroine.   “Who are you?!”

 “Oh, yeah.  My name’s Arachne, nice to meet ya.   Soooo.   Some of your team is holding on against two Akumatized villains and these death multiplying servants of theirs…… so I saw them send two of them away with a briefcase and then that witch become an Akuma told your teammates about it, then the explosion happened and here we are!” Arachne said and Rena Rouge blinked, her mouth dropped open in shock at what she had heard.

 “Okay, so Ladybug and the others are holding the line and……..” Rena Rouge began, trying to think about how to handle this and get the item to Ladybug without breaking it or Volpina trying to stop her.  Okay, Lila’s a liar with the power to make illusions, and she’s probably got a powered-up Akunma with how Hawky’s been lately.  Add in that Sentimonster I saw her riding and the two guards……… with just Viperion and the new girl this is gonna be hard!   Maybe I can make an illusion of Mari being given a Miraculous….. not that would just put her in more danger!   How to handle this?  She thought before Arachne coughed and smiled awkwardly.

 “Yeah, No not Ladybug.   I just saw the Chat, Turtle, Viper and Ape boys with the Dragon-girl,” Arachne interrupted her and Rena Rouge looked at her and then down at her flute.

 “Okay, okay.   That means time to call in some help before we strike!” Rena Rouge said as she smirked and activated her tool’s communication function.

 As Ladybug blinked away the buzzing she looked around, and saw that everyone even Wraith Lord was shocked.   As she got back up she saw Wraith Lord look at her with a bit of awe in his body language.  

 “You got up first, I guess that you deserve to hold the Ladybug after all,” Wraith Lord said as the other heroes all stood up.  

 “Don’t think you’ll leave Paris the same as when you entered!” Apisera declared as she heard a beep and knew they had to finish this fast.

 “You’ve lost your minions, the chances of you winning are next to nothing!” Pegasus said as Miss Hound nodded.

 “You asked for my friend, we’ll take your slave instead!” Salica said proudly as she looked at Wraith Lord.

 “You’ve used that Miraculous for evil, we will stop you!” Ladybug declared as Wraith Lord looked around.  

 “You’ll try,” Wraith Lord said as he looked around and almost reached for his belt but he knew how many of Lust’s creations he had taken and he had used all of them.   That bolt was a lot stronger than the last time, I guess the ability to use magic does increase with age.   Still this might be good, and this is done.   I’ve learned a lot and I’ve taught them a bit.  For now, I will leave that way.   He thought before he started to grin and laughed as the heroes looked at him as they moved closer to him.

 “Let me tell you all two things my foes.  1, this is not the end but the beginning of our fight!  And 2, what I did just now?  That wasn’t my Miraculous’s power!” He said before he was suddenly engulfed by a black energy sphere before he shot into the air like a bullet, laughing madly as he flew away.  

 As the heroes stared after him another two beeps caused Ladybug to turn and look towards a part of the park.  “Follow me, there’s a manhole nearby!”  

 She shot off with the others behind her, even Salicia who looked around for anything that might still be lurking around.   After Ladybug had pried open the manhole both Pegasus and Apisera had dropped down, and as Ladybug covered they saw a flash as it was sealed.

 “He wanted my partner,” Salicia said as she looked at Miss Hound and Ladybug.    Both of them looked at her with a scowl, the very idea of taking a Kwami from one of the other heroes was unthinkable to them!

 “So another Hawkmoth then?” Miss Hound asked and Salicia shook her head.  

 “No, they said my power could defeat them, and how he didn’t want such power outside of his hands……. And what he did at the end and that bolt wasn’t his Miraculous, that what is it?” Salicia said as she looked at the two heroes.    “I think they know something my partner doesn’t know, I don’t like this at all.”

 Before Ladybug could say anything her yoyo started to beep, removing it she saw Rena Rouge was trying to get in contact with her.

 “Ladybug here, sorry we couldn’t make it but we….. wait Volpina’s back!?  How??  Wait a briefcase!?  And at the courthouse a Sentimonster swarm that can multiply?!  Okay, I got it, yes that makes sense.   We’ll be there soon!”  Ladybug said as Apisera pushed open the manhole and climbed out.

 “What’s wrong Ladybug?” Apisera as she reached down and pulled Pegasus up.

 “We’ve got problems, two of them.   Rena Rouge and another Miraculous user like Salicia have their eyes on Volpina on a Sentimonster with two others as guards under orders from Hawkmoth!   She’s carrying a case that might be the Item for the Akuma at the courthouse, and the others are dealing with Sentimonsters that can multiply, while they have to protect police being led by our least favorite Lieutenant.” Ladybug said and they all blanched as they saw the same horror they felt reflected in Ladybug’s eyes.

 “I’ll go with you after Volpina Ladybug, my sting would probably do more good there…..” Apisera began but Salicia interrupted her.

 “Wait, my partner said I can turn any magic ability backwards.   If I can get to one of those Sentimonsters I might be able to make them all be absorbed back into that one,” Salicia said and the others looked at her in shock and Apisera looked down at her top for a second.    

 “If you can do that, I can get one of the Villains and Carapace could trap the other one!  Good idea newbie!” Apisera said as the others nodded

 “Then I’ll go with Ladybug, I can track Volpina down if she escapes us!” Miss Hound piped up and then Pegasus shrugged.  

 “I’ll be able to help them all escape at least if things go bad, so I’ll head to these two,” Pegasus said and Ladybug nodded.

 “Then we all know what to do, good luck everyone!” Ladybug said and without another word, they all ran off, each of them going to where they had said, each of them hoping that their actions would lead to victory.

 Dark Owl laughed as he saw the Midnight Crew move to charge at the villains and gangsters that dare stand against the cause of justice. Once he found Marinette and made her THE NEW SPARROW after he talked to her and taught her the right way to behave, then everything would be perfect in his city and they would be ready to defend it from everyone who would dare to harm it!

 “Everything is going well Owl!   Should we send some of the crew to encircle them?” Lunar Raven asked and Dark Owl smirked as he turned to her.    He wondered for a moment if he should say anything but then he looked around and saw that there was no way for anyone to overhear him and he started to laugh. Lunar Raven meanwhile only looked at him and wondered what was wrong with him.   “What do you know that I don’t Owl?”

 “Oh many things my dear, I made a special plan a few moments ago, I expect to see the results of that very soon!”  Dark Owl said with a laugh and Lunar Raven looked at him and was about to speak when she went still.  Dark Owl walked forward and then turned to smile at her, not seeing her he turned around and saw her standing completely still.

 “Override active,” Lunar Raven said suddenly and she started to spasm as she fell to the ground.  

 “RAVEN, HELP HER!” Dark Owl ordered.   As two of the Midnight Crew came towards her she suddenly slashed out with two blades that formed on her arms.  As the Sentimonsters died Dark Owl drew an owl-themed broadsword sword with two wings as a cross guard and looked at Lunar Raven.

 “Have you lost your mind Lunar Raven?!  What’s gotten into you?!” Dark Owl demanded as Lunar Raven looked at him with a lifeless look on her face.

 “Secondary Akumaization has happened, returning to base, hostile Akuma detected, defeating,” Lunar Raven said tonelessly before she attacked him, slashing out with the blades on her arms.  

 Dark Owl blocked the blows, moving backwards as a Shadowmoth energy mask formed over his face.   “Sorry Commissioner, but our Raven seems to have been brainwashed!”

 As the two crossed blades, the two Sentimonsters ‘killed’ by Lunar Raven had already spawned two more, but these two each had pink glowing lines on them.  As one of the normal Midnight Crew moved closer to the four new ones, before it could touch them suddenly two of the changed attacked the normal one, killing it swiftly.

 As the other Midnight Crew Sentimonsters moved backwards the puddle the killed Midnight Crew had become rippled and spawned two more of the Corrupted Crew Sentimonsters. As the six Corrupted Crew looked robotically at the normal Sentimonster blades sprouted from their arms and they attacked the Midnight Crew with a cry.

 Shadowmoth glared as an energy mask over his face let him see what Dark Owl saw.  As he tried to send his wraith at Lunar Raven, but shockingly he hit a mental barricade, the ‘impact’ causing him to develop a headache that forced him to his knees.  He tried to ‘reach’ for the Corrupted Sentimonsters but he ‘hit’ another wall much softer.  As he shook his head he glared into space as he tried to figure this out.

 “What, no!   I’ve lost control of both her and those Sentimosnter? But How!   DARK OWL, SHE’S A SPY FOR THE VILLIANS, TAKE HER DOWN HARD!” Shadowmoth roared as he got back to his feet.

 Shadowmoth closed his eyes as he felt the connection he had with Dark Owl lose some of its strength and then he formed another mask.

 “Enhancetress, are you well?” Shaowmoth asked and he heard her reply.  

 “Yes, everything is ready on my end, why?” Enhancetress sent and Shadowmoth sighted.

 “One of my champions broke free and is attacking everything, she also took control of some of the Sentimonsters! Watch yourself my dear I fear someone else has been planning something in our city and are only moving now,” Shadowmoth said and he felt Enhancetress’s worry and smiled.  She was truly a good friend to be so loyal to him, but then they both cared about Emile.  

 Shadowmoth walked towards a computer screen and frowned as he called up a program and with but a few buttons pushed a file was brought up, a webbed list with the heroes, the Seven, the Giles figure and himself.   He looked at it for a few moments and made another list, with Caline Bustier under an empty blank person with question marks as the name.   “So there is another player, but what are they after?”

 Shadowmoth stared at the screen as he went over everything they knew, so far he and Nathalie hadn’t been able to figure out where the Guardian could be hiding.    And finding that one to talk about what his kind did to the Kwami was near the top of his list, if he had any information about the healing ritual Duusu spoke of then if he had to he would pray it out of the only Order member in Paris, by any way he had to.

 Dark Owl charged in and slashed out with his sword, Lunar Raven moved backwards and dodged the blows, parrying every third strike with her right arm as she led Dark Owl away from the heroes.    As the two Akumatized villains fought Lunar Raven's face kept perfectly still, not reacting to anything at all as Dark Owl grew madder with each blow.  Lunar Raven parried a blow and sent Dark Owl’s sword to the side and she shot forward, kicking off Dark Owl as she jumped backwards and landed by a building.

 Dark Owl looked around and saw that the Midnight Crew and the Corrupted were locked in a stalemate, and he watched as one of the Corrupted slew another and saw the taint spread to the puddle.   He looked at Lunar Raven and knew that he had only one choice.

 “FIGHT IT LUNAR!   YOU’RE STILL IN THERE!” Dark Owl bellowed as he sent a mental command, cursing that he had to use his plan to fight his ally instead of defeating his foes with his strategy.   With a roar, Dark Owl jumped upwards and slashed downwards at her right arm, only for Lunar Raven to keep her silence as she lunged to the side and kept moving in what seemed like a random pattern.

 Meanwhile, as the Sentimonsters fought themselves the heroes and Police had been able to get across a car bridge.  As Carapace and Roi Singe went to the rearguard position, both prepared to hold the line if anything went towards them.  Looking back at the carnage, Chat Noir gripped his weapon tighter.  I’ve never seen anything like this before, never!   The Akumatized follow Hawkmoth’s orders, the few Sentimonsters follow the orders of the Akumatized!   They shouldn’t be able to do this!  he thought as he looked at the battle between the Akumatized villains and Sentimonsters.  

 “This is insane, I’ve never even heard of anything like this……” Arashiko said with a shocked look on her face.  

 Chat Noir nodded and looked at the carnage before them, seeing the strange mutated or corrupted Sentimonsters attack the normal ones.   This was completely beyond anything that he had ever seen since he had gained his Miraculous!    

 So far the battle had stayed away from them, but everyone there felt like this as mad as it was, that it was only the calm before the storm.   As they watched there was a cry from the right and suddenly a tide of the normal Midnight Crew Sentimonsters charged over the rooftops and attacked the corrupted.

 “Where”d those things come from!?”  Carapace demanded and Roi Singe went still and paled.   As he watched the carnage, everything crystalized in his mind and he shook his head in shocked horror.

 “Dude.   We can’t win here, we can only outlast them,” Roi Singe muttered in horror and Carapace turned to him in shock.  

 “Don’t you all get it!? Those things can damage themselves to multiply!  Dark Owl must have sent  some of the ones we killed away and ordered them to kill each other until he called them back in!”  Roi Singe said the police officers and heroes all paled in fear as they understood the sheer craftiness and strategic mind of Dark Owl.

 “Just like the last time,” Chat Noir said as he shook his head, wondering just what caused a school principal to have such a strategic Akumatized form.    

 “So what do we do? And where’s the Lieutenant?

 “HERE!”  Lieutenant Eduardo called out from a side alley that he poked his head out of.   “There’s an old bunker from the War down this alley!   It has an opening to the sewers, we can hold them there as a chock…….. why are they fighting each other?” Lieutenant Eduardo asked as he saw Dark Owl and Lunar Raven fighting as their Sentimonsters all fought each other, but one side seemed to be stronger to his eyes.   “What happened?”

 “Don’t know, so far they seem to be evenly matched and are after us, probably due to the ‘psych’ of the Akuma,” Chat Noir said as he looked at the ‘battle’ between Sentimonsters.   A beeping from his weapon tool caused him to activate with a hopeful smile.    “M’Lady?”

 “Negative bro, this is Apisera moving towards the Courthouse from the south with the Dolphin and Horse, we’ve got a plan to handle the Sentimonsters, where are you all and what’s the situation?”  Apisera's reply caused the heroes to smile as Chat Noir felt a bit of relief hit him.  

 “To the east sis, bad but weird.   The Akuma just started fighting each other and the Sentimonsters are too.   We’re on the other side of the Seine at the bridge for vehicles.  And the side for Hawkmoth just got a lot of reinforcements too,” Chat Noir said as he saw some of the Midnight Crew start to try and disabled one of the Corrupted only for it to kill two of them, the puddles they formed as they died having the same lines as the corrupted.

 “Fuck.   Stay safe, we’re coming in and Horse-Boy got that look that he has a way to get you all to safety,” Apisera said and Chat Noir nodded and looked at the battle as the tide started to turn again, this time towards the ‘Corrupted’.

 “Hurry, we might have a big problem,” Chat Noir said softly as he looked at the police behind them.
