Hello! Every year I hold the annual Davey Awards for brilliance in motion pictures that move. This is our fourth year, and it promises to be one that is a year.
Let's get to the nominees. Gage came back from the bathroom, teeth brushed after a simple breakfast. He was hungrier than Meyer, and Gage thought he knew why. The stress the other felt last night reverberated into today, which was understandable, but that didn’t mean Gage worried any less. Thankfully Meyer had obliged and taken a couple bites of Gage’s corn flakes, but that was all he could stomach. It was fine, they were fine, Gage told himself as he fell back into bed and kissed Meyer on the mouth. He couldn’t deny, however, that Meyer’s wandering hands felt really good. “You said there was something you wanted to say, or ask,” he didn’t remember, “after breakfast? Well here I am.” He let his left hand caress Meyer’s hair, slightly oily from all the sweating they’d done the night before. A shower was on their to-do list today, but it was 11 and could wait a few more hours.

Its too cold to go out, he kept telling himself all day long, yet all day at work he’d wanted to go out to General Axel, the shed he had built with the Lowell children eons ago. It was a simple tug that occurred every once in awhile, and who was Clark to say no to a feeling. The kids had always hated the name, honoring his dog from before the first world war he’d always told them. In actuality, it was the meaning for him. A place of comfort. It sounded more like a tool than a place of peace, father of peace to be precise, but the spot lay just barely on Clark’s land and he had chosen the name therefore. He’d always suspected the Lowell children had their own nickname for the shed, but he’d never heard it on their lips.
Finally at approximately twenty degrees he made the short trudge out to the lean-to and was surprised to see a shadow in it. Mira’s inn was on the other side of town, unless this was her way of moving in. As he got closer he noticed the hair was too short to be the woman’s. “Damn boy you still come out here and trespass? Is this a regular thing?” He got closer but saw Meyer stiffen slightly. “What’s botherin’ you, son? Surely there’s a long list but, scoot your boot. Talk to me.”
