looking after drunk brayden after the draft night 🤭

you went out with him and his whole family after the draft. you all went to a bar and although neither of you are 21, bouncers were letting hockey families in, so let the party begin.

lots and lots of alcohol was ordered and consumed and within an hour, brayden was drunk. quite drunk.

you were talking to one of his family members when you felt brayden wrap his arms around your waist and bury his head in your neck.

"hi pretty." he mumbled into your neck and you giggled at the ticklish feeling before turning around to face him.

"hi bray, you having fun?" you asked him.

"mmmhmmm, lots. but i haven't seen you since we got here." he said with a frown.

you smiled as you leaned in and pecked his lips. "i've been mingling around while you've been downing drink after drink." you said with a laugh.

"i haven't had THAT many!" he tried to convince you, but you weren't even sure he could convince himself.

"mmhmm, whatever you say baby."

a couple hours later everyone decided to head back to the hotel for the night. you had only had a few drinks, knowing you'd be taking care of your drunk boyfriend all night, but you didn't mind. brayden deserved to celebrate, after all, it was his draft night and you couldn't be more proud.

brayden threw himself on the bed face first the second you two walked into your shared hotel room.

you laughed as you set your purse down and took your shoes off.

"why don't you get ready for bed before laying down, babe." you said to him.

brayden rolled over on his back and sat up before holding his arms out to you.

"c'mere first." he said.

you playfully rolled your eyes and walked over to your boyfriend, climbing onto his lap and wrapping your arms around his neck.

he puckered his lips and you leaned in to kiss them.

"mmm, thanks baby. for everything. i'm s' glad you're here with me, y'make me s'happy n i love you s'much." he slurred a bit.

you giggled and kissed him again.

"you are so welcome, my love. i'm so glad i could be here with you, i'm so proud of you." you said as you played with his hair at the nape of his neck.

brayden leaned in again to kiss you, but stopped right before he reached your lips.

"mmmm BEDTIME!" he yelled, and stood up with you still in his lap. you instinctively wrapped your legs around his waist as he carried you to the bathroom.

"bray, you're drunk. you better not drop me!" you said.

"wouldn't dream of it, baby." he said as he sat you on the bathroom counter.

you reached next to you and grabbed your makeup wipes as brayden began to brush his teeth.

you both finished at the same time and just as you were getting ready to hop down and get your pajamas, brayden said, "time to take my makuep off!"

you looked at him and laughed before saying, "what makeup, bray?"

"MY makeup! take m'makeup off please babe!" he slurred as he demanded you grab another makeup wipe and wipe his face off, which you obliged and did.

"tanks baby, now where did i put m'pajamas?" he said as he left the bathroom and frantically looked around the room for his pajamas that... didn't exist.

you laughed as you said, "b, you don't wear pajamas. you sleep in boxers and no shirt."

braydens mouth made an 'O' shape at your reminder.

"hmm, yeah, you right." he said before he started stripping down to just that.

"TADA!" he said as he threw his draft clothes aside. "bed is ready. please join me n'bed now." he said as he got under the covers and opened them up for you.

you shook your head and laughed as you quickly got changed and joined him under the covers.

"so warm. so tired." brayden mumbled into your neck as he nuzzled into it.

"you know i-" he began to say, before suddenly the room was silent.

"bray?" you asked after a moment of silence.

more silence.

"br-"

"not good." he hurriedly said before quickly jumping out of bed and running to the bathroom.

you heard the toilet cover go up and second later the sound of puking.

great.

you hopped out of bed and joined him in the bathroom. you knelt down beside him and rubbed his bare back.

"one too many, huh?" you asked.

a shaky brayden nodded his head as he hurled again.

you made a face at the gross episode occurring in front of you before going to get him some water.

you two spent the next half hour in front of the toilet as brayden emptied his entire stomach. eventually, you both made it back to bed.

"all better, bubba?" you asked as you crawled back under the covers.

"mmmmmm." he groaned, nuzzling into you.

"no more drinking." he said.

you laughed and said, "we're in nashville, baby. that's unavoidable."

brayden pressed his lips to your neck and mumbled a, "no. more. drinking." before passing out.
