I just feel the need to say again exactly how much I’ve enjoyed Kazetsuyo. Obviously as a sports anime, at its core it’s about friendship, teamwork, working hard and succeeding against the odds, but there has also been a lot more to it. It’s shown characters who have struggled and found strength to keep going or start going again; even the characters who seem to have it together and are goal-oriented and focused are shown to have had their times of weakness, doubt and defeat. It’s shown characters who have had to deal with physical and emotional consequences of their actions. It’s shown characters with healthy views of sportsmanship and what it means to compete & rivals who aren’t painted as nasties out to sabotage but who are rivals simply because they’re excellent at their sport and push others to better themselves. It’s shown other rivals who haven’t gotten to the point where they can absorb that lesson yet and who are hopefully ultimately left in the position of beginning to realize it soon. It’s given us characters of all sizes and abilities, from the guy perfectly built for speed to the guy starting from absolute ground level in terms of athleticism to the guy who is running against all natural odds because he’s NOT built for the sport that the series centers around, and that’s an integral part of his story, growth and motivation. It’s touched on family issues, injury, sickness and recovery, hope, focus, regret, guilt, confusion, jealousy, loneliness, anger, trust, depression, helplessness, dealing with life balance, fear for the future, perceived expectations and a multitude of others. And perhaps best of all, it’s done it in a way that has never seemed forced or preachy, but rather by letting the audience form a connection with each person so we them progress alongside them as they’re learning, yes sometimes hurting, being supported and growing. I’m really really going to miss it after next week ಥ‿ಥ

I’LL BE STUDYING ABROAD IN SOUTH KOREA SOON!

i’m so excited and very nervous at the same time. idk what kind of things are awaiting me, but i know at this point in my life lots of things are changing for me personally. as someone who’s never been independent, and as someone who’s never been away from family and friends for a long time, this is quite scaring me. i’m so nervous about everything, from being independent to dealing with transportation, school life and social life abroad, etc…

but i know I’ve worked too hard for so long to be able to do this for myself to just chicken out. so I’m going to do my best while living my life out there! 🤧 if anyone who has ever been to korea or lived abroad, would you kindly hit me up with some life hacks (especially on how a suburb girl can get through big city transportation) that would be gr8 💛

When I was a kid, I didn't know what OCD was, and I had to touch things twice or an even amount of times and if I turned on a light switch and someone else turned it off I use to have to ask them to come back and turn it on so I could be the one to turn it off. I would actually sit there staring at a light switch because I needed to turn it off but I wasn't the one to turn it on. One day in school I tried to break the habit by blessing myself loads and loads of times without counting so I didn't know if I was in the inside or outside of a prayer, and that annoyed me for ages haha. Or I would have to tell my mam I loved her every single time she left the house just in case she never made it home. But the thing is, none of this was weird to me. It was just stuff I did that made me comfortable. I was just a normal kid who would run back and touch a lamppost because I touched it once walking past it and had to go touch it again so the number was even.

the start of the new year really s u c k e d… physically and mostly mentally. i got sick (and i’m still sick) out of the blue, and im upset because i was never sick once in 2017. i was truly hopeful and excited for the new year, yet i’m already drained. i’m honestly scared of what’s to come for me for the rest of the year.

but…today is monday and only the 8th day of the year, and thinking about it, i won’t let all of this weigh down on me. since I’ve finally got some time for myself for the next couple days after working almost everyday since new year, I’ll try to work on getting my shit together bc it’s almost the start of spring semester once again. and i hope once classes begin again, I’ll be prepared and will start out strong in the semester
