One day some random TikTok had a clip from the “Where you are” song from Moana, and it got stuck in my head and I thought I had misheard it but I looked it up and I just completely took it a different way from what they intended in the song with context.

The lines is

“There comes a day

When you’re gonna look around

And realize happiness is where you are”

And if you now the movie Moana, it’s meant in more of a stay here, don’t adventure or explore type of way. It’s saying eventually you will be happy here, you will grow to love this place.

But without the context (because I knew it was Moana but I don’t know the movie/soundtrack well enough to tell you which song that takes place in until I look it up) I found it to be really comforting to me. I took it as one day, without you realizing, you’ll find the life that you wanted. And one day you’ll look around you and realize that you’ve already found that happiness. That you won’t know right away that you’re were your meant to be. Like I took it as a reminder that we don’t always see the change for the better right away. Mainly because I almost never realize things are better until a month or a couple at least.

Idk, this might be kind of a stupid interpretation of it, but it’s become a small little line that I’ll sing to remind me that one day I will realize that I’ve finally found my place in the world <3

The Tarzan soundtrack and Phil Collins didn’t have to go so hard. Like even today, in my opinion it is one of the best albums for an animated movie.

For me it’s:

1. Tarzan

2. Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron

3. The Lion King

4. Mulan

5. Moana

For example, You’ll be in My Heart really tugs on the heart strings. I’d sing it like a lullaby if I had the voice.

Spirit there’s Here I Am, Sound of the Bugle, I Will Always Return and You Can’t Take Me. I still listen to those fucking songs, to that entire album. That movie was my childhood too. Watched it too many times to count.

The Lion King. Elton John and Hans Zimmer?! Does anything else really need to be said honestly…
