But the Matterhorn shares a border with both Switzerland and Italy, as it's located in the Canton or Valais on the Swiss side and in Aosta Valley on the Italian side.⁣ ⁣ The famous peak, which is instantly recognisable thanks to its almost perfect pyramid shape which may also have inspired the iconic Paramount logo, looks quite different from behind, but the views will nevertheless leave any visitor in awe.⁣ ⁣ I took this photo by Lac de Gouillet (Lake Gouillet) which can be reached on foot or cable car from the Cervinia ski centre. I got up incredibly early to be one of the first to take the cable car at 8am so that I could achieve a superb shot — and I'm so glad I did! Usually clouds start gathering from midmorning, but that didn't happen that day.⁣ ⁣ 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲:⁣ ⁣ If you're yearning for unforgettable views of Mount Cervino (or the Matterhorn), take a bus ('SAVDA') from Chatillon Saint Vincent rail station to Cervinia. The journey takes about an hour because the road is mainly uphill.
