I’M DONE!!

At the start of the month, I designed and started working on an Ekubo/Dimple themed dress to wear to the Mob Psycho 100 exhibit at the Ikebukuro Animate that I’ll be going to this Friday

Excuse the shitty photos and how messy my sewing room is lol

It’s a bit wonky, I haven’t sewn anything significant in years and I was improvising a lot with the pattern (which I made by cribbing from clothes I already own). But I’m happy with how it turned out! It’s wearable! The red spots are big pockets!

I’d really have liked to have made it reversible but I don’t have those skills, and things were hard enough as they were. Plus, I didn’t want to add layers to the skirt in case it’d make it too hot to wear as a summer dress.

I posted some of the process stuff on my sideblog but nothing I tag there shows up on the wider site no matter how long I wait, so I’m putting it here. Hopefully the tags actually work lol

I love Austen's novels, obviously, but I do find the kind of worshipful, defensive takes from the fandom and some academia really frustrating. Yes, there are some really obnoxious Austen anti-fans and there are some bad faith or short-sighted or just extremely flawed criticisms. But.

There's quite a bit in Austen that I find bizarre and unexpected, even accounting for the differences of time and culture. It's uncomfortable in a way that I mostly find interesting. And I think some parts of fandom are in such a rush to defend her honor or stature that the fascinating oddities in her work—especially her work outside of P&P—get sanded down in the discourse around her.

Sometimes it's just like ... #keepaustenweird, you know? It's okay for the canon pairing or random asides or whatever to be genuinely strange.

some people on tumblr melt down when you tell them that you love summer and that sometimes you even put on sunscreen and put down a towel or a blanket on a sunny piece of grass and spend hours lying there listening to music and soaking up the sun not even for the pupose of getting a tan just for the sake of it and that it makes you feel happy and human and some people want to murder you like wild animals when you tell them that it doesnt really bother you if you sweat a lot beacuse you can always take a shower afterward some people on tumblr legitimately cannot handle when you tell them this

This is getting too much to handle... I just reached 9k followers and 96% of them are spam/p**n blogs. I've been getting about 30 spam followers every other hour for the past few days now and I definitely cannot block them all. I literally only had about 300 real followers before I started getting so many bots following me 😭
